Scratch cards operate on probability systems where the cost of the card determines the number of prizes available, with higher-cost cards offering more prizes but also more potential losses; the expected value of a scratch card is typically negative, meaning players lose money over time, as demonstrated by the creator's experience of losing £8 on a £2.50 worth of cards while bouncing around the £700 mark for about a month.

Scratch Cards day 254 - Bonus - Club Cards #scratchcards #scratching #lotto #lottery #ticket #LuckyAdded:
Hello again.
Right, that little £10 win I had on a scratch card kicked me under the £700 down mark, and I've got £2.50's worth of club cards here, the ones you peel off like this, and you have to get three in a row.
Three of them, three of them, three of them, three of them, or three of them.
On this one anyway, the 25p one.
Yeah, only cost 25p.
And with these £2.50's worth, I am now £692 exactly down.
Unless I win, of course.
Let's have a little win on one of these, and get a bit further away from that £700.
This one cost 50p, but there's twice as many prizes.
And twice as many things to put in my recycling bin at the end of it, which is what generally happens.
Yep, nothing on those four. In fact, I think I've had nothing all week.
>> [sighs] >> What did I say? I've had nothing all week.
And I've won a £1.
So, I'm only £691 down now.
Little bit further away from that 700 cursed 700 that I'm bouncing I've been bouncing around that probably for about a month now.
Over it, under it, on it.
Anyway.
£691 down, and going in the right direction. Bye for now.
