What I Found Snorkelling in Voglers Cove, Nova Scotia

[00:00:00]Hey, good morning. We are in the United Communities Marine Park in Voglers Cove.

[00:00:04]Voglers Cove has a history dating back as far as the 1700s. The tide is low, it's super calm right now.

[00:00:12]I'm going to be getting in the water probably around here.

[00:00:15]I'm hoping to find some cool bottles while I'm down here on the South Shore.

[00:00:19]And then I'm going to be making my way up along this area in behind me. Again, just picturesque. Let's go see what we can find in this beautiful historic cove. It'll be fun. I'm actually so excited. I haven't been to a new spot in a really long time. Probably get in the water on this side.

[00:00:39]Honestly, this is as good as life can get sometimes. To be able to spend time in a beautiful place like Voglers Cove.

[00:00:46]I don't think it gets any better.

[00:06:54]>> All right. Yeah, lots of interesting things. This is on my list to come to this cove for a long time.

[00:07:01]I found a poison bottle.

[00:07:03]Oh my gosh.

[00:07:05]I found some really cool bottles.

[00:07:09]I got to like empty it and then fill it again.

[00:08:50]>> Lots of stuff as you saw.

[00:08:55]I just kept pulling stuff out of the water. It was like shocking to me, so I have to go back and get more. I just couldn't carry all of the stuff in my bag.

[00:09:38]Me and It's always cool to meet We're all done the dive. As you can see there's lots and lots of glass of every decade here. We got beautiful blue bottles here.

[00:09:54]Uh pop bottles from every decade.

[00:09:57]Some plates.

[00:09:59]This actually is an old kind of a perfume from like 1840s. That's the oldest thing that I found.

[00:10:06]This might be my favorite find, this wine bottle with a double applied lip.

[00:10:12]Just a gorgeous blue glass here.

[00:10:16]Um we've got lots of little bottles, ointments.

[00:10:21]A clay pipe bowl right there.

[00:10:24]Um What else have we got here?

[00:10:28]Someone's belt.

[00:10:30]Uh Popeye's pipe.

[00:10:34]>> [laughter] >> The longest pipe there.

[00:10:35]Uh some other blue glass. That's an old uh beer bottle. I've got There were two of those that I found. One of them is kind of chipped on the bottom, but the other one's intact, so nice to see that.

[00:10:47]Got a candlestick holder here.

[00:10:51]Um Where was the uh Where was that one?

[00:10:57]What did I have? Where did that Where did that Oh, this thing here.

[00:11:02]This might be the most peculiar find of the day. It's like milk glass. There's It looks like there's some guys playing hockey on it, but I can't really tell. So, I'm going to have to soak this in acid and clean it up and see what's beyond that.

[00:11:18]Um another beautiful plate with a Can't tell if that's a hand painted or imprinted, but it's gorgeous.

[00:11:26]Um An Anodyne bottle, some more blue glass.

[00:11:31]And yeah, all of this came from these coves, right out there you can see.

[00:11:38]I just had a really good time cleaning up Vulgaris Cove and exploring and I can't wait to come back. So, thanks for watching. See you on the next one.
