It's Emily here from the Friends YouTube channel. Today we are at a seafood market in Paya in Thailand. This is the I'm not going to be able to pronounce it, so I'll just put the name here.

>> But no, we're going to show you sort of how you walk through it, what they've got, how it works. Also, what you can do here is you can buy seafood and have it cooked up for you in different restaurants. So, we're going to kind of walk you through that process, show you how easy or hard it might be, and just kind of generally give you an idea of whether it's worth coming to this market or not. >> So, there's quite a feast between this and the prawns. So, it would be Look at that.

>> Okay. So, we stopped at one of these restaurants because it's got like air conditioning. They're cooking the food up out there. This is what it costs to get everything cooked. So, there's different prices for different things.
We have got So, we've got garlic fried shrimp and they're 150. It's like 50 a kilo to grill them instead of barbecue them, but we're going to get garlic fried. That looks good for 150. And then we're going to get this one. Garlic butter clams. So, we've gone garlic.
Garlic. And that's 120 which I don't know you probably get it cheaper at one of the stalls around here but >> there's air conditioning I'll pay for that >> nice big air conditioning room so you are paying for that and I it's worth paying for like I am I'm melting basically so yeah >> no amount of fan in my face mopping my face has stopped just the sweat pouring off of my brow but it's pretty awesome here there's more of it back there but It's like super hectic. We have the Bubba who you can hear in the background who um obviously we got this big stroller for him. So, we are limited on where we can go and get it through there, but it's just like a bit of a pain pushing through everyone and you don't actually get to see anything. So, I had a quick look through there on my own and we settled for like a little offshoot that no one seemed to be shopping at. Wasn't so busy. So, yeah. Good. Looking forward for the Looking forward to the food.

That whole suck the head thing though.

>> It's like that kind of not just sugar, but that kind of complexity.

Sweet and crispy garlic like almost like peanut.
>> So, here's the scallops.

>> Those are looking decent.
There's two scallops on each one. So, yes. So, we got 14 scallops you have like in this plate.

>> And with the green sauce. Okay. Got it sauced up.
Wow, that's so good. I might try one without the fruits.
>> Let me just pick it up.
>> They're very sweet.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah, really sweet. Pretty good. The crispy garlic is unreal. I like the green sauce. I put a load on and I was like, "Oh, actually that might be a chili sauce. It might blow my head off." It didn't blow my head off. It's like quite cooling and sweet.
>> Yeah. Really good. Here we go.
>> Yeah, >> it's good, right?
>> It's sweet. It's got like almost I don't know like nutty or coconuty sort of nutty flavor.
>> There's something there like a familiar flavor.
Try it with the soup.
>> Yeah. Sauce makes it.

>> It's like a limey fruity kind of sort of >> really nice, isn't it?
>> Really nice. I thought it was going to be like hot.
>> I thought it was going to be hot. I put load on and I was like, "Oh, that might have been a mistake." I didn't think about it until they did it.
>> No, that's like a almost a juice.
>> So refreshing. M. Yeah, >> they're really nice. I'm surprised. I thought they would be more fishy or more >> really clean.

>> You got like the scallops are super soft and sweet and you've got like the crunchy garlic >> which is also it's kind of like it's cooked to the point where it's like crunchy and it's also got its own sweetness but like yeah really like mellow garlicky and then green sauce on top of that just like cuts through it all and just like brings it all together. Wow.
I might have to go and get another kilo of those. That's so good.
Back outside on a melting again. So, I'm going to get a nice iced coffee. 45 B.

It was so good.

Like you just go over there, they're like, "Yeah, however much you want. You pick what you want, you pay, that's it, and then you >> The guy gave us a deal on the prawn price, but looking at the other stall, so we're about 300. You probably like haggle and get it a bit cheaper.

>> But even that it was easy is is what we're saying. Yeah. We >> pointed at the thing, 1 kilo, easy peasy. Throw them in a bag. They're all nice.
>> Yeah. And then you come here and then they they just show you a menu and you pick which floors you want and >> sit down in air conditioning first and then Yeah. Get the menu.
>> Yeah. Pick the sauce. Pick how much you've got. Half kilo kilo and then they price it up accordingly. They take it away in a little box and then they bring it out. All beautifully presented and very delicious. So >> Oh god. So good. So >> easy. Couldn't have been easier.
>> There's other stuff on that menu. I now I'm thinking I want to eat like I'm not big. We're not big lobster people, are we? I much prefer crab over lobster.
>> Yeah. You know, >> I eat a prawn a pile of prawns over a lobster, I think, as well.
>> Yeah. Yeah, >> but I'm now thinking I was leading to saying that I kind of want to get a lobster now.
>> That's what they do with prawns. I mean, which are different to lobsters, but they're like >> huge.

Well, you can get them all sizes, but there's Yeah, some giants. But no, excellent, excellent experience and worth it. So, don't be scared. Come try pick seafood, bring it here, >> and have the best meal of your life.
