[00:00:04]Welcome back. Your time is 5:15 on this Monday morning. I'll tell you what, yesterday was hot and humid. I think everyone's going to agree with that.

[00:00:11]Felt a lot more like summer and it was our first 90° day officially in Chattanooga. We hit 91° a very mild and muggy start to your day out there. Temperatures generally in the 60s and 70s with the exception of Murphy all the way down to 59°, but once again, we're going to be in that 90° range as we get into the afternoon forecasting another 90° day here in Chattanooga. Upper 80s across the board. So again, it's going to be another hot humid day very similar to what you would expect during the summer time and we're going to continue to see this surge of moisture and humid air moving in. It's really going to start to settle into our area by Wednesday. So it's going to get even more humid as this air mass starts to slide off to the east. So go ahead and prepare for that because we got some hot days ahead, but some rain chances on the way as well.

[00:01:05]But no rain this morning. Things are nice and quiet. This is up and down the ridge cut. Visibility looks good. We're not tracking any rain and really across the entire Southeast outside of some cloud cover. Things are looking pretty quiet out there, but we are going to start to see more of a stormy pattern take shape Wednesday onward all the way through Memorial Day weekend. So you're definitely going to want to have that local 3 weather app handy so you can track out the storms each day because as you know during the summer very hit or miss action mainly during the afternoon and evening and that's kind of where we're heading by the middle of the week.

[00:01:40]But for today, again, hot, humid, maybe a few spotty showers here and there. If anything does pop up, it's going to be very brief. You're not going to see a whole lot, but some of you may see a few quick raindrops later today. Tomorrow, a little more cloud cover out there, but about the same as today temperature-wise. Be in the upper 80s, maybe hitting 90 again, and there will be a slim chance of a spotty shower, but coverage going to be pretty low tomorrow. Wednesday, that's when things start to trend more active. We're going to have this front coming through, and what this front's going to do is just hang out over the Southeast for really the next couple of days after Wednesday, and we're going to have a much higher coverage of some afternoon and evening showers and storms beginning Wednesday.

[00:02:25]And that'll be the trend Thursday, Friday, all the way through the weekend.

[00:02:29]And of course, the distribution of rain's going to be spread out a little bit, but I think most areas should see a solid 1 to 2 in over the next 7 days because yeah, we're going to see the southerly jet stream kind of wake up, and that's going to allow that moisture to pump in. So, it looks like we're actually going to have a pretty wet go of it over the next 6 to 10 days, and that's great news for this drought because as you know, we've been dealing with it all of spring, and hopefully we can get some improve- -ments coming our way as we [music] start to see more of these showers and storms. But today and tomorrow, really not a whole lot going on, pretty close to 90°, and then we'll have those daily storm chances returning as we head into the middle of the week.
