[00:00:09]But is Shiraikawagago actually worth visiting anymore?

[00:00:15]The moment we arrived, I understood why so many people come here. Shurikawagago is a UNESCO World Heritage village hidden in the mountains of Japan. The traditional houses here are called gashouzukuri houses built with steep thatched roofs designed to survive heavy snowfall l. But what surprised me most was actually seeing the inside of these traditional homes.

[00:00:44]Walking inside honestly made the village feel more authentic for me. The wooden interiors, steep attic structure, and oldstyle layout really show how people used to live here hundreds of years ago.

[00:00:59]It feels simple, but also incredibly detailed and well preserved.

[00:01:08]Looking out, you can feel how closely people here lived with nature.

[00:01:16]What I liked most was that it still feels peaceful once you slow down and walk deeper inside.

[00:01:25]Away from the main crowd, you'll find quiet little paths, traditional homes and mountain views everywhere.

[00:01:34]It honestly feels very different from the bigger cities in Japan. Less flashy, more calm. But of course, Shira Kawagago is also very popular now. The main viewing areas can get crowded pretty quickly, especially during peak hours.

[00:01:52]So, if you're expecting some hidden secret village with nobody around, it's definitely not that anymore.

[00:02:00]I still think the atmosphere makes up for it. And then there's the famous viewpoint. This is probably the shot most people see online and seeing it in person actually feels pretty special.

[00:02:21]The entire landscape just looks perfectly placed. This was probably my favorite part of the visit.

[00:02:29]So, is Shira Kawagago worth visiting?

[00:02:32]For me, yes.

[00:02:35]Even though it's touristy now, the scenery and atmosphere still make it feel special.

[00:02:42]I wouldn't stay overnight personally, but as a day trip, I can totally understand why people come here.
