Nigeria faces a severe security crisis characterized by widespread kidnappings of teachers, students, and civilians, which has become a major political issue during election periods. The government has implemented various security measures including joint military operations with the US, deployment of forest guards, and promises of CCTV cameras, yet the situation remains critical. Political tensions have intensified, with accusations of rigging in political primaries and debates about internal democracy within political parties. The fundamental challenge lies in the gap between government promises and actual implementation, as well as the difficulty of addressing security issues while managing political infighting and public expectations.

The family of Labu, former former minister of power and leading governorship aspirant of APC Noya state wishes to inform formally inform and confirm the unfortunate kidnapping incidents of his younger sister John Paul alongside her twin sons Peter and Paul. Yeah.
I know.
Some people talk say they will put fire in your state if no follow them. Now election time you can see the fire you see the children from school now you can see today Benz former minister of power they've kidnapped the sister and children so you can see that there is fire in your state already and this kind of fire is looking like political fire is different from this the kind of kidnapping that we see around Nigeria this one now they not targeting VIP VIPs so this one there is political on their And some people don't talk then go put fire for that state.

Examine has evaluated all the pieces of evidence accused and correctly applied.
We are not surprised because the investigation that went into the prosecution was not only forensic, it was thorough. The DSS did a very very thorough and painstaking investigation and it was that thorough and painstaking investigation that the trial was anchored. Therefore, the evidence used by the prosecution was ironclad and so we're not surprised that the judgment came out the way it did. Now, first to force defendants had been convicted for acts of terrorism as a result of their participation in the attack of St. Francis Catholic Church on the 5th of June 2022 where over 40 worshippers who merely went to worship God were killed in oaks.
Over 100 were also injured in that attack. So we are happy because justice has been served. Justice has been done to the deceased. Justice has been done to their family members. Justice has been done to the world community.
Justice has been done to the society at large. So we are very very happy and this is another statement bold statement by the federal government that for some of them that are still carrying on acts of terrorism and other enos crimes they can only run they cannot hide the long harm of the law to catch up with them and if you live by sword you will die by sword so this is a statement by the federal government who provided the enabling environment the facilities for the ESS to do their job we are indeed very happy that this judgment particularly as the maximum sentence has been imposed on them. The first to four men that have been convicted of acts of terrorism have been sentenced.

She want Yes, of course. If you go on social media, you'll see a lot of things. But um one thing that people should understand is that this gang slaughtered unlikely one of the not experienced before is what we saw with um with another group outside of the country. So that tells us the people we are dealing with or the teachers will be slaughtered like that and you have children who have been abducted and you have of course teachers people's mothers people's fathers people's children there was an instinct of a lot of doctors and women is that since they know where they are why they don't go there but this is what I to have you say Muslim saying to the people with that message they have sent if they could kill a person on such I think and like that then you should know the kind of people that um the military goes after that or the police or whoever goes after that they will surely kill as many people that have been abducted and then there will an offer for the people that Hello US overdose.
Come on.
body trust telling me this thing. You want to talk to me, talk to me in the manner I understand.
You call me on phone. You call me on phone. Tell me what I need to hear.
Don't tell me that I'm and and an activist. The meaning of activist is someone that is ready to come for his country. That's who I am today. I'm ready to my country. My country is bleeding. My country is bleeding. So I have to talk. If I did not talk, if I did not talk, another person is not ready to talk. I will talk. If I die for my country, I'm still saying it. I'm hero.
>> And as for that, I think the man has done his best. The last time I checked, many of us have grandparents or fathers that are 84. Why didn't you tell your father to come and protest on the street at 84 when he protested? It wasn't even a protest. He was a prayer worker and he was much much younger. Much much younger. We are talking about over how many years ago now that that happened.
This was maybe 2012 or 2013 or thereabout. But much younger, right? He has the energy to work. Um but today he it's even funny because he's able to address speak to them privately counel them privately what does he want him to do you know what will his protest do really right um some of you also have been on my page you tell your papa my papa to solve in security when papa told all of you not to vote bhari what did you people say did you people not say jonata gave him private jet did you people not say jonata gave him money do you not say jonathan did this jonathan did that I knew how many member I was pastoring his zone then that stop attending the zone winner chapel zone I was pastoring they said how come papa say we should not vote b we want change we want change so somebody's a prophet and say I have seen that voting this particular person to power he will bring in security at a dimension we've never seen it he said he saw that vision 1992 he said it to everybody people so now the problems are here and then you're saying you should go and do what exactly do you want him to do what do you want to Right? What you want to do? What exactly do you want them to do? The younger pastors have done prayer work. Pastor Davis was out there, they did all of that. And so these are younger ones. They had the energy.
They're in their 40s and 50s or their 30s. So what's your problem with an 80 something year old or 70 something year old?
You're too old now to talk about the ills in the society in your brother's regime but you protested against you carry placard against Jonathan right who was 67 naira you carried placard but now you are too old to protest or to even talk you cannot you can only advise the commander-in-chief so you know that is commander-in-chief that is not commanding anything only commanding our resources into his pocket. You can you can't talk again. He can only advise if he doesn't take your advice.
All of you that are bandit pits robbing people through tight and offering.
That's the only preaching you know how to preach so long. Tight and offering, you can no longer talk to the president.
Even if you cannot talk, your people wanted to protest. You stop them. You stop them from protesting.

We enter the forest. It was me and my family at first. Before we know they started adding people to us. At first they brought three. They brought four girls from one family. Then the next month they brought other two families.
So we are not four families. So that four families they not they pushed us through the bush again. We stayed six different places in this bush. So at first they were calling our family for ransom. They started from 200 million.
They will torture us and torture us. One of our family said money is low. They will torture us and torture. They will beat us until we get to this particular place. This place we stay 2 days here.
We stay 2 days here. So on the 15th of May that particular day during day time like this we'll just be here. So fortunately they called my mom they asked her mama what's your age and mom said 66 years old they asked one other lady what's your age said 45 that's what they just did they didn't ask more than that when they asked I was thinking maybe they want to stop beating them maybe that's why they just asked because they didn't know the house plan in the evening so in the evening of it that's where we normally sit down please they just move the two of them plus one other boy 15 years old they move the three of them further a little we seeing them they be like Oh, sorry. Before they moved, they call our family. Everybody's family. My family said they were at 7.5.
One other family said 1.5 like that. So, they got provoked because the other family said they were at 1.5 and 1 million. So, they were not debating if they should kill us or not. They cause arguments here. The leader here almost shot one. Yeah, I remember two. They were quarreling. So, before we know they carried my mom 66 years old and the other lady 45, they moved them away from us a little and one other 15 years old.

Excuse me.
Imagine every corner English.
Euroba people are also here. Maybe they should also tell us the name or the meaning of ono in Euroba named ibos.
>> Yes, he did. He did. And he created their language for them. He created that. He drew their language for them.
They both is still there. And for the Euroba, he did see the word own is not actually own. It is a picture. That is a guy I always call his name.
He was the one who came out to say that okay when they discovered that the lie of calad became the do was not flying because we have debug them with several with many whatever yes sources debug them. So he came out and said that oh ital did not go to this present day that it was to mala that went to that their own did not go to this present day that this present day was founded in the 18th century. Now of course I have already made a video of that where I said that the ben actually debunked him by saying his forefather who started the dynasty of Ben actually came from the present day and after his coronation he was in to visit the tombs of his ancestors at we going to talk about that now he has come out again to why that it was that created the language and that it was that created language. Now this guy on one of the live stream we have debated before he actually run away from us me and this guy claimed that he studied English yet despite the fact that he studied English he didn't know the meaning of created he didn't know that there's a difference between codification and creation of a language and he claimed to have studied English a linguist does not know that there's a difference between creating a language and codifying a language now my first question to you is that the language and the language are they artificial languages that anyone can create. Are they answer that question because I know that you are you are very ignorant. You came to have studied English. We are ignorant of how standardization of language is done. I'm going to I'm going to make a video separately that what did about the language. It was not to create the language. He standardized the language. The same thing he did for the language. He standardized it. He codified it. What does that mean? He gave it a written form. I know you're not educated to that level. Yet your millions always come on our videos to say that we are the ones lying. Yet you guys are ignorant about a simple thing as aation of language. Now you in that video again you made a claim that the undo where I am from that came from and where in said that we don't know the meaning of that the iso it is not just it is you are a liar. Now I'm challenging you.
I know you're going to see this video because your people will tag you on it.
Please bring those references where it is said that the meaning of iso because the meaning of as a princess of kingdom from the family is it is at you know yes was contracted and what do we call it in English those sounds were contracted the three what do was contracted to become in the past we used to call it or Obeo how Oundo sounds like Arundo is what I don't understand.
Now there are three or four migrations into kingdom and none of these migrations came from the first stories that we have been told whether by professor is it or professor or professor who have written on the history of kingdom. We have the oil tradition. We have the tradition which is not very common which I believe is actually the truth and we have the is tradition. Those three traditions none of them has any contact with and then the place we call on town today. That place had been in existence before came there or before that founded before came. It was the people that settled that land around 800 AD. Now this people seems to have connection with the people of kingdom and to have connection with the people that are in today. I don't know I think is also that they aren't there. So you are a liar. In fact this is how we know that you're a liar. You do not know the difference between codifying a language and creating a language. The language and language they are not artificial languages. So there was no how that could have created those languages. But on that history, I think I need to tell the history of every community, every town in Ono state so that you can stop these lies.

Imagine your or your state governor. M has called on Nigerians to pray for former state governor your daily following recent political accusations and remarks credited to the former governor. Mak's position was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the commissioner for information Prince Oadi busy.
The commissioner said Nigerians had been shocked by fire's recent comment which he described as false acquisition. Said the governor was currently focused on addressing the security challenges in your state. Governor Makay is too preoccupied with finding a solution to the challenges posed by the kidnappers of children and teachers in the state to engage someone whose lifestyle and compartment have been suspect over a long time.
He added that for a former governor to be so consumed by the politics of vindictiveness, villainess, deceit and hatred that he will further endanger the lives of those in captivity and distract security agent from handling this delicate job smacks of one who has lost his mind.
The commissioner also referenced past comments allegedly made by fire linking the governor to political tensions in the state, including claims related to the recent abduction of poops and teachers in local government.
She can't politics primary.
Uh my friend, I find myself between the devil and the devil.
What does that even mean?
>> Well, that is because on other side is the devil. What I whatever I choose, I end up with the devil. Meaning that as bad as Batinu is right now, I believe I think we will make a worse president than Batu. I've said that before. I'll say >> I'm asking specifically about Obiquo ticket. Will you support it?
>> It doesn't mean that I'll have to support anybody. I have now retired from politics. I'm not conversing for vote for anybody. I have one vote to myself that I keep to myself when the time I might even vote for is coming up I believe will be >> you have not decided yet Niger you haven't decided yet still waiting >> okay >> at least I made a choice so far I begin to eliminate I eliminated APC now I've eliminated ADC I'm waiting for other people to throw up and I can tell you categorically I've eliminated DDC whatever that is NDC >> you started again that's why we end up correling you preamble ple was it was most important issue important to who?
That's the clarify. That's your style now. You make preconditions that I don't agree with. So tell me important to who?
>> It is it is too early for us to argue.
I'm referring to your press release. You made a statement on Facebook yesterday, right? And you made grave allegations.
You said that the primary, the presidential primary was rigged in favor of the former vice president. I'm asking if you have evidence to back up your claims, Mr. Law.
>> Are we in a court?
No, we are not.
>> So you put it as if you are prosecutor.
>> No, no, no. Are you saying that Nigerians should just take your word for it because you said it?
>> No. First of all, it was rigged. I have evidence. I have evidence from a primary from a local government for example. The results of the election returned was uh had 20,000 votes whereas had 1,000 and something votes. But the result that was result was counted and announced at the local at the words collected at the local government and announced but surprisingly the results that ended up in Abuja was reversed was inverted. So what evidence do you want me to provide again? The results the one landslide in Adamawa but even the returning officer at the state was was telling me when I complained that how come these results are not reflected on the result that you have. He said, "How can we embarrass in his home state? Can you imagine that?" I said, "Your duty is not to decide. Your duty is to collect results are submitted to you." You know, results already announced at the voting point at the collection, local collection center. So, I haven't even much more than that.
There are reports from everywhere. Most of the candidates I know for example one candidate who won the house of representative election in my state is not the name that was announced at the their so-called what do they call in a collection center. I know somebody from Adamawa South constituency who won landslide.
His name is not on that [ __ ] that eventually got to Abuja. I know that for one reason or the other. It took the our own attorney officer close to 3 days because before the results were submitted in Abuja. What were they doing with the results? He left on the same day that the result were to be collected but he didn't hand them over. By the time he handed them over, it was all childish, mutilated, manipulated results. To do what? Yes, >> I hear you clearly. But let us let us let us assume for the sake of argument that the process had been assume I'm not my friend. I'm a busy man. If we are here, I'll go and do other things.
>> Just hear me out so that we can make sense of this few minutes we have together. Let us assume that the process was transparent and that article indeed emerged fairly would you have supported him as the ADC candidate?
>> Obviously I would have died doing it.
Why are you using these words as if free and fair and square? I'll kill myself supporting him, campaigning for him.
>> All right. So that's not and you see this this thing arises from my belief.
It's fundamental to me that if we want to fix Nigeria, we must first of all fix the political processes through which our leaders emerge. If the process of emergence is fraudulent, is defective, the chances of producing good leaders will not be there. So it's fundamental to me that internal democracy within political parties must be practiced and strictly adhered to. So when you breach this, I don't know what else be Welcome.
10,000 that it is if you have the right to practice religious and tribal politics in your own space. Why do you think I don't have the right to do same in my own space? Why? Why do you think so? So what is good for the goods? they say is good for Uganda. So now coming to the real point the process was defective was defective because somebody manipulated the process to be so now you go back to it there's no way you can uh diverse the the failure of the process from the man who engineered it. What are his motives of going rogue in trying to install himself on the party and on the people?
What are his motives? You begin to link the man with the outcome of the processes that he has subverted. How can you say there's a distinction between the man and the process he has? Oh, there's none. What are his motives? You begin to question his motives and you begin to see that the motives are not uh the motives are self- serving. I have a particular, you know, having to work more than any other person to to prove why they prove my competence. I've have to work more than more than double to show somebody that I'm competent for the position I'm occupying. There are times positions I occupy are not ascribed to me because of my competence. people begin to oppose it because as a kila man from northern Adamawa a Christian from a small tribe I'm not entitled to position I hold now I grew up with it it's part of me it's in me and I have grown up with some people like I was discussing with somebody yesterday he said BD there's a problem in northern Nigeria there are two categories of people there are category one and category two you and I are in category two those in category one think that they entitled to having whatever they want at the time they want in the manner they want because they are in category one so you see my friend sitting down there in Legos and you don't know what is pinching me on my shoe. I know it.

So when we see the lady standing at the road that person will come down to go and stand with the lady. Yes. So once he say jabi and he said okay and Joseph park he enter the lady will also enter then go.

So after much of uh uh uh uh operations he was picked like like a rat because nobody can do this to Nigerians and where we are as police we like to continue. So today FCT I'm sure will be at peace.
One chance. One chance.

local government.
local government effective youth 80% Last time install CCTV camera clearly. Have they started installing the CCTV cameras? Is that what you're saying?
>> We don't have anything related to CCTV camera presently. Now the only thing we have after the attack is only this street light that is from the governor.
Uh from the promises in respect to after the attack I think uh what we have from the government. I think uh to be specific the governor of Plat State have tried his possible best after the attack to to sponsor the burial processes.
after the burial processes and then he have sent and by talking to the diseased families to be specific and then the injuries people that sustained injury he have cleared their deaths in the hospital so far I think that is the only thing they we have received not only kiladi the attacks are numerous I think the most recent one is bar kilad and even uh the boundary of mango and just east uh that is uh the gum jang village village to be specific the forum district that is the attack on Sunday there were buried eight mostly women and children I think after the attack of angua we have not even on the issue of security the killing have not stopped the attack keep on going every now and then there is no effort to stop that that is the wor moment and the situation we find ourselves now One minute.
Honorable colleagues, my name is law.
I represent the grieving people of North South and constituency. I write under order 85 for this house to suspend all relevant rules for me to take this motion. A motion of audent public importance on dra kidnappings the mother of midoku and and the urgent need for structural security reform. I so move Mr. Speaker.
Speaker my name is Bame Salam elected by the people of Ed North Edency of state Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my dear colleague honorable and I want to lend my voice.
>> You're welcome. Please >> to the spirits and the proceed and the recommended resolutions of this very important motion especially considering the fact Mr. Speaker that abduction of school children which started as a weapon employed by terrorist organizations around 2013 2014 with the chamber girls is painfully sadly and unfortunately becoming a trend all over the country. Mr. Speaker, there's a saying that one of the keys that locks a prison is education. When we provide education to our children, we deliver them from the scourge of poverty, of ignorance, of disease. And we take them out of the viable market for the bad guys in the society.
Unfortunately, this very important sector, this very important tool of human libration is what these terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, whatever you call them, have begun to attack. And Mr. Mr Speaker, as leaders of this country, I want to think that we need a more sense of urgency in addressing this problem. There is a saying among the Euroba people that if a lion comes into a village and catch the children of the poor, there may be no noise, there may be no morning. But the day the lion comes into the village and child of the king, the whole city is turned into a graveyard.
Mr. Speaker, for reasons we all know, most of the children of those of us who are in leadership position today, please >> attend private schools.
>> Some of them outside of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because we can afford it. The children of the poor, the children of the laborers, the children of the teachers, the the children of the carriers of wood attend public schools. And we cannot afford to close our eyes to the realities of the dangers that their children and the teachers face today in Nigeria. And I want to suggest, Mr. speaker that part of the resolution of this motion should be the need for the federal government of Nigeria to create a special force a special security architecture specifically designed for the school system. Many countries of the world that faced similar problems devised creative means of protecting their schools. There was a time, Mr. that the Nigerians um civil defense organization had a school security system and I'm saying it on good authority that that committee that board that was set up by the civil sector by the Nigerian security and civil defense corp was never funded for the period of his existence. I think it is high time that we looked at this problem in a very very mad and provide adequate security for all schools. I disagree with those who said that we cannot protect all schools. If we can protect the thousands of public office holders in Nigeria, we can protect the children of the poor who attend our public schools, protect the teachers and on these incidents that happen in your state. I say that the government needs to be more proactive, needs to be more reassuring in a manner that will not allow the problem to fester more than what and provide comfort to the victims of this attack.
Those in support of this motion say I.
Those against say nay. That is it. This motion is referred to the committees on defense, interior, police affairs and national security for further legislative action.

Imagine The exchange reportedly by came after Trump intervene to hurt a planned Israeli strike on Beirut.
Leblon warning that further escalation could leave Israel increasingly isolated.
This confrontation exposed growing tensions between the two leaders as Washington pushes for deescalation between Israel and Exola and seeks to preserve negotiation with Iran.
Look, the ceasefire was announced and within a couple of hours, the terror organization fired rockets, drones, and explosives into Israel. So, made very clear that they're not really interested in this ceasefire. We hope that it will uh take hold and it will take effect because we have tens of thousands of Israelis currently living in their homes with rockets coming across with drones, with bombs, explosives, and they're trying to live a life with with very little warning as these things come across. So, we very much hope that there will be a ceasefire, but it's very difficult to trust a terror organization that they're going to live by their word. Israel is inside Lebanon defending our citizens. We are only there because are firing rockets. If stop firing rockets, if they stop attacking Israel, if they agree to disarm, if they allow the legitimate government of Lebanon, the Lebanese army to take control, then we have no reason to be there. We've got no interest whatsoever in being in Lebanon. We are there to defend our people to defend our citizens acting in the way that any country would act.
Well, we've got absolutely no territorial interest in Lebanon. We would like to see peace between Israel and Lebanon. The people who are stopping that is Hezbollah, this terror organization backed by Iran. It's an Iranian proxy that is not only attacking Israel, but it's holding Lebanon hostage. It's holding the citizens of Lebanon. It's uh holding the whole country. We would want to seebalah removed disarmed. And we need to see Iran stop using the Lebanese people as hostages, to stop using this as their forward ground, as their forward post, to stop using their proxies to attack Israel. If Iran would leave, if disarm, then the future between Israel and Lebanon could be incredibly incredibly positive. Israel can is a fabulous neighbor to have, is a fabulous country to have in your border. The things we could do together would be incredible.
At the moment, it's because of it's because of Iran that we can't do that.
>> Well, I'm going to come back to that issue in a minute, but let me ask you this. What leverage would you say President Trump still has over Israel?
And is that leverage limited or does he have considerable political agency with Prime Minister Netanyahu?
>> Well, I Israel and America have a great partnership. We have a great partnership together. Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump speak on a very, very regular basis. We know that Prime Minister Netanyahu was the first foreign leader to visit President Trump. uh President Trump and Nanyahu have met the most of any two leaders uh of President Trump's during President Trump's presidency. So there is a partnership and the partnership there is about shared interest is about shared goals and so the conversations always take place about what are in both of our interests and what are in regional interests and about how we make the area better, how we make the area safer and how we make it better for all the peoples of the region.
>> Well, clearly Donald Trump wants the conflict situation in Lebanon to end.
Mr. Trump times according to the report. I saw the original report. I mean I can't repeat some of the things that you know President Trump is is quoted as saying but I mean what light can you shed on that?
>> Well I I wouldn't focus on sensationalism or headlines or stories that we're seeing. Rather I would focus on the real partnership that goes on between Israel and America. the fact that we are united in our aims to stop Iranian proxies in the region to stop the terrorism that's being spread to stop Iran gaining a nuclear weapon and we've seen over the last couple of years in fact for many decades we've seen Israel and America working together for the betterment of the region and that's where I would be focusing I would be focusing on the fact that Israel and America are working together that we carried out a very successful operation to severely degrade Iranian nuclear program um and those that's the real test of what the partnership is about and what the real relationship is Iran, body language. Excuse PDP faction.
Do you think somebody who not told you want you had any communication with the former president? That is not the issue.
So how you know >> you don't go and tell somebody to run somebody will say I prepare to run and come and talk to you. Nobody say I mean I the same thing but but thank you nobody comes to you when people want me to come out. Nobody wants anybody to come out. Nobody sleep inside.
It's not correct. Either you think that you tested either you think that you perhaps why not wait. Why not wait?
You ask me question. Okay. I'll give that opportunity >> to hear from me. First of all, there are no faction. You encourage factions. You you media. Let me tell you you see that's why when you see criminality when you see something that cause breach of peace stop it at that time stop it at that time we have been in battles we have litigated and litigated to supreme court all of you were the ones who said let us wait for supreme court let us wait for supreme court supreme court has now come out to give a verdict which you appealed against you at the federal high court you went to appeal you lost appeal You went to Supreme Court Supreme Court.
You've come to not what said you have not my brother.
Who are those sponsoring this? Why is your mandate today right? Where today no please don't just don't do the no PDP there no law we don't have any APM PDP.
So encouraging things today is 8 p.m.
right? If there was such a thing, why would they leave them to run election in AP? Who is in the the one you got to give? What? Which office? Where's the previous secretary? Where are they secretary?
Certainly. Yes. No secretary can be in somebody's room by guideline and I must know the secretary of every political party and will bly want to trans you go to you don't go to anybody's personal house chamber and NDC no president noc the house is lipstick before you introduce another chapter.
Now the court has given it and we are there to you see we going there to buy from there somebody came here somewhere why have they not s me up to today now people say we can stop them I a duty not allow of peace in this city I a duty to protect life and poverty I a duty to make sure I can achieve this crime without moistation if people have written to me to say look we have done our congresses and allowed by We hear that some people want to use our name again to go Congress. There's no two PDP is only one PDP and organized by the electoral company as created by law.
Any party or what faction if you faction is what you call faction if by too bad for you. Too bad because at the end of the day you will submit the names of your candidates to INC. At the end of the day will provide for you nomination forms to give to your candidates.
Right? Where did they in PDP where they doing congresses all the states? Where do you see these people do congress in any state? Where they want to ratify Jonathan's j one day say you run okay when was given something he spoke. Did you not speak to >> did you come by proxy? What are we talking about? What are we encouraging?
If Jonathan is a former president with do respect, people should respect position. People should respect age. You do not generator is interested. He's not interested. In Nigerian politics, in Nigerian politics, we don't see you sir sir. In Nigerian politics, in our pattern, we don't see you as a candidate by body language. Nobody knows the candidate by body language. A candidate is one who was an aspirant who had aspired and have contested say you have won. You have been declared therefore we issue you certificate of return. It is not like we ratify where I one day. So people should stop people you should arrest but listen crisis don't do what you're doing.
Anyway, Rainbow Partyal PDP APC Serious,000 minimum wages public servant.
Members of the organized private sector have cautioned against expecting private sector employers to automatically match the 100,000 minimum wages being adopted by some state governments. They warned that many small and mediumsiz enterprises are already struggling under rising production cost and shrinking profit margins. The business group said that while some large firms and thriving sectors of the economy could afford wages above 100,000, most small scales were battling high operational cost.
that speculates,000 speculation. President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the private sector should not be compelled to pay the same wage level as the government if businesses could not afford it.
National minimum wage does not necessarily mean private sector operators must pay their workers the same level.
deliberate and speculate 100,000.
In fact, They will get themselves. They will be all right.
Finally, no.
President Take responsibility.
First years.
Okay.
The answer is simply population and resources. The population is over 230 million. uh the resources we have however they increase revenue is not enough to match with the population and deficit in terms of the infrastructure.
So growth will however will have to be slow but it will be slow steady and consistent that is what we take pride in.
me >> actually everything you said in your prelude or in the monologue are tangible they are reflective and they experience based because for example when you talk about the increased revenue >> the effect of that increased revenue is the the the increase allocation to states which has resulted in state administering and which has also resulted in the impact on the people. So the direct so the increased revenue is directly proportional to the positive effect that we see in states because of the increased revenue.
>> I don't understand what you're saying.
If you give more money to governance, >> how does that necessarily in a country as spectacularly corrupt as Nigeria?
>> How does it translate into somebody's capacity to buy food in the market?
>> So for example, there are states because this is an individual experience but state-by-st state basis. And first of all, the money is not to the governors.
The money is to the states.
>> Yeah. But the governors have control of it.
>> Yes. Yes. But but the point to be made is that the money is to the state.
>> No, it's a fact. The governors are just the chief accounting officers of the state. There's an accountant in this television house. There's chief chief accountant here. But he doesn't own the money because I think that again perspective will matter in this sense.
And I and I will beg you to give me a moment.
>> Of course, >> the cliche, the the rhyme, the the rap, the stanza that is often driven in the media by the opposition and sometimes even by members of the press because you echo and mirror what is happening. And if the opposition have spoken more than we have spoken, you will mirror what they say. Is this same rhetoric? People are poor, people are I will come. That's why I said give me a moment because if you cut the flow of thought then it can carry a very different meaning to it.
>> In 1960 Nigerians complain about hunger, deprivation, poverty, death and healthcare problem. In 1970, Nigerians have made the same complaint. In 1983, Nigerians complained in 1998. They did.
In 1999, 2003, there has never been a moment since the creation of this country in which there was no complaint about either poverty, healthcare, and the rest. I don't but let me finish let me finish sorry there has never been that time so if I hear somebody saying this that or that I am not part by that now but the point to be made is I said I be repeating and I've been saying that since from the day I started speaking for this government we acknowledge the fact that Nigerians are suffering we have our own people that are suffering as well >> but we focus on solution and we communicate to the Nigerian people the effort we have made or we are making regarding that and then urge the Nigerian people to be patient have faith in government we will drive through that has our consistent message but often time it is I want them to reelect you and and continue to wallow in their suffering >> again whilst you get around to fixing the problem whenever you find you have taken a position already so that mean we're debating I am not you're not interviewing me I am asking you a question it is a question >> so when I understand your question but you don't understand my answer >> but you don't understand my answer you ask about direct effect on the poor I mentioned that acknowledge you I mentioned in the area of healthare >> yeah but I about the things that cancel out whatever it is you say you're doing head then if you say it cancel them out my answer will be population now for those who do economics and they understand planning no matter the argument if the resources you have are so scarce that the operation consume >> so why did you make the promises you made at the outset I mean there's been an APC government in power since 2015 >> right >> I'm here to speak for president >> I'm just telling you that there's been a consist you're not a member of the APC >> yes I am but if you want to speak about APC national challenge I'm speaking about the policies of president government >> okay when you go for reelection. You're not when we get there, we know what >> I'm saying. You're not just going there for president, but you're going there as a collective body of APC.
>> Okay, that's the support that is given to to the Now, you also talked about the 1960s and the 1970s. I mean, go and look at the the quality of life and the standard of living and compare Nigeria to all the other approximate economies around the world and see how close it was to those economies. When you come to the 1970s, go and look at the standard of living of people even after the civil war. Look at what General Gowan did in this country. There was nobody who could say that they didn't feel it. Look at the odory payments in the 1970s.
>> This is mischresentation of context >> where people had the quality of life and the purchasing power of the Naira was so powerful that virtually everybody in this country from a certain level could easily just go and buy a book. But since you're interviewing me, let me interview that you're making you miss out the point I was saying. No, no, no. You miss out. at your point. You talked about Nigerian people complaining about hunger, poverty and the rest. The question is not standard of complaint.
>> There's a difference between complaint and living but unfortunately you said complaining. I'm responding to that except if if you interact it I'll be happy that waste time on so when you mentioned that my response was if it is the question of people are suffering that has been the term since the creation of Nigeria you switch again far away from this context and start talking about standard of living which was not the basis for the conversation or for your question.
If you ask question come back to the UK going to regular go and chill out with your with your money am I not saying it's my >> but I might not was I not going to the UK before I was appointed what what I'm saying I actually met you in the UK well I am a resident of the United Kingdom crisis economy thing but we tried to tell Nigeria because there are individuals who are in the forest as we speak tonight they lose their loved ones because they are dying in the forest so we can have a free life and it will not be fair to our security forces in the bush in desert in towns engaging with these terrorists for us to sit here and talk about no success is needed.
>> But you're not you're not giving them we're not we're not talking about them.
We're talking about your policies. We're talking about your approach to security.
We're talking about how you as a government deals with insecurity. We're talking about the soldiers. If you go and look at those soldiers, they will say to you that they're not getting the equipment they need to do the job. They will say to you that the percentage of the budget that has been released for them to do their job is minuscule. I'll be I'll be happy to answer when you come to me and say they said not they will tell you but let me not be distracted by that in the month of May in the month of May alone listen >> the joint air strike between the Nigerian and US killed 175 terrorists in the northeast and several foreign ISIS trainers from Iraq were allegedly allegedly allegedly among the people that were killed two days later there was a strike that also resulted in >> say allegedly don't you know that you're you're a government what I'm saying I am saying the report air strike reportedly neutralized about 176 terrorists and please don't distrib you will soon say But I want you not several foreign trainers from Iraqi right now. Boro strikes targeted swap cam logistic weapons their cache financial networks and the surrounding.
Now intelligent reports suggest that the disrupted terrorists are those who killed that area was for training drone operation and command structures. Let me also say the key leaders of the terrorists that were killed were Abu Bil al-Muki, Abu Al-Waba, Abu Musa Al-Mangawi, Abu Al- Mata. These are major people and the clar operation is still ongoing. joined military operation in uh joint operation with the US 2 days later on the 30th of May also killed about 21 Isa the camp were brally destroyed the troops of the 12th brigade of Nigerian army rescued 23 kidnapped passengers in Kui the abduction occurred alone blah blah blah blah then you see the number the troop responded you see the and the victims recovered these people ran away the troops of operation pasang yama rescued 31 kidnapped victims and neutralized five terrorists 31 kill 31 kidnapped victims were rescued five terrorists were neutralized you come back on the 19th do in a security operation troops of four bri Nigerian army arrested 12 suspected kidnappers and collaborators and drug operation kick in they were then you come back again you see all suspects all suspect and recovered items were handed over to the police whilst we talk about the suffering whilst we talk about while we talk about the kidnap also going on we also as govern to bring to the Nigerian people I'm coming I'm coming the progress I'm coming the progress that the Nigerian government and the president au late administration is making in this regard as a way of encouraging them to know that government is doing its best and we are to put that one behind us.
>> Well, you didn't answer the question that I asked you. They're not they're getting a tiny percentage of their the budget they need to carry out.
>> The reason why I did not answer because it wasn't a question. You say if you ask them. Okay, let's say if you ask them.
>> Let me say this. You've cited a lot of the elimination of terrorists and criminal leaders and so on and and we commend the Nigerian security.
>> Do you emphasize it in the media? You don't. Excuse me. But you don't >> we we do actually. We commend the fact that they do that they they they've achieved those things. But many Nigerians judge security by a simple measure. Whether they can travel safely on the roads and sleep peacefully at night. Whether many communities across the country continue to face worsening banditry kidnappings and violent attacks. I'll give you one simple example. Okay. In 2016, >> myself, my driver and a cameraman, we took the car and drove from here all the way to Da to President Buhari's Philly hometown and drove all the way from Da without any security, nothing to Calaba in the southeast, stopping in different towns and doing reports from there. I would be insane to think of doing that.
In 2026, members of Arise TV have traveled from Abuja to Kaduna without being >> Abuja to Kaduna is a very but yes but before 20 before I'm coming I'm coming before President Batu came on board you couldn't do that without serious security because it's an every week affair yet in 2026 people have been traveling from Abuja to Miduri people have been traveling from Abuja to Adamawa people have been traveling >> you traveled from here to you're from Boru state from Has driven from here to I don't think the entirety of the interview today. I'm coming from there.
You feel secure. I want to be very honest with you. I didn't I don't think I was called on this interview to answer question but to put words to forchech.

protest.
First of all, thank you at least for this protest peacefully without being violent.
All Nigerians are concerned about the security situation in the country.
Whether we like it or not, the government is doing all it can to see that those who are kidnapped are being rescued. I have that confidence that the security system will do all they can to make sure the teachers and the students that have been kidnapped in your state are being released unharmed. But let me say this clearly. I don't like politicizing anything that happens. You have said here in FCT that teachers have been kidnapped before. Why was that not important in the country? It doesn't mean that the teachers in Abu are not important. You see, I I I tell people the truth. You have said it here that teachers are being kidnapped in F city before. Why is it that people never rose up to say, "Oh, let the teachers in Abuja also be released. So why is this one not particular? We're all concerned.
We're all concerned. But let us not politicize issue." That is what I will not support. But we are all concerned about security situation. We are all concerned about how the teachers and students should be released and we all know without being biased that the security system is doing quite a lot to make sure that they level of insecurity in this country. Again let us face reality that no government will say let everything it's not possible but we know where where we find ourselves and we know that this government will do everything possible that will encry so that's what I have to tell you people. So I have to sit down and let everybody hear me. You said it. You said it that teachers in Abuja where before nobody went on strike. Nobody want strike. So what concerns you concern everybody. What concerns Abuja also concerns everybody. So when people minister said that people should not politicize these politics he's a man and I'm saying that in front of his office he's lucky that I didn't meet him here when he was saying that revolution now yes how can you say that you should not politicize when he himself is a product of the politics of insecurity himself So, you know, if he had said that while I was there, I would have told him to his face that you man and let him do his words. But he left before I got here.
>> We are not here to beg anybody. We just asking people who are who claim they elected to protect to do their work.
>> And it would have been great if this number of policemen who are preventing this that protect our schools. Your children are also in schools and when the schools become the ground for kidnapping, one day your children will.
I hope not. But this is a time for everybody to have common sense and do what is right. Very soon there will be more of this protest. We won't come to the SCDA. This is the beginning. On Thursday we are going to rock pillar >> to force the hand of the government to ensure they do what they claimed they elected to do. That's why I joined them this morning. And when we got here the police as usual I was trying to be funny. Uh we fought through the barricade and got there before the teachers delivered there. I didn't mean to be part of the leadership of the protest. I just joined in solidarity.
Our protest is expected to take place on Thursday and that time we moving to Asog Villa. uh that is if by then they have not uh rescued this case across the country. Yes.
>> In the first place, the same president who deployed forest gas to your state is also prosecuting some forest gas in this Abuja. But ask yourself what happened to the deployment of the 5,000 CCTV cameras in polit state that he promised. I watched or I listened on uh to radio and TV today and they said none has been provided. So when somebody has nothing to offer, they just keep making bogus promises. I mean, how long why do you need 1,000 forest gas when you have millions of police? Well, I would say thousands of policemen who are I do fighting terror I mean fighting protesters. Why don't you just deploy these guys? Look at them you know and send them over to your state until they retrieve the kids. You don't let them come back instead of sending them after teachers and peaceful protesters. If I could have my way or if I would have my way. Anybody who is president of Nigeria at this time should never be allowed to run in any office again based on their failure. If you're governor of a state like your state, you should not even go near the presidency. You should not collect the form to become president cuz you have failed already and you should not enjoy any kind of promotion.
