[00:00:00]My name is Leanne, and my journey with Conservation Volunteers Australia started many years ago when I was a teenager. I realized I had a passion for conserving the natural environment.

[00:00:08]Through that, I started studying conservation and land management.

[00:00:12]Through Conservation Volunteers Australia, I was able to partake in koala surveys with CQU, educating school-aged students on climate change, and a lot of rehabilitation in [music] the Mackay region. Many years later, I am now 5 years into my role as a project officer at CVA in Mackay, and deliver two projects, DMA Cetacean Mackay, which focuses on reducing marine debris and marine plastics, [music] and Revive Our Wetlands, which focuses on wetland rehabilitation. With this role, I work with schools to encourage our younger generation to adopt healthy environmental behaviors, and have been doing so for 5 years now. So, it's a very full circle moment.
