In evaluating NFL quarterbacks, physical attributes like height, arm strength, and speed are important but secondary to the most critical skill: the ability to read defenses and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure. While Tylan Green's exceptional physical profile (6'5" with a strong arm and speed) generates intrigue, established quarterbacks like Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders may have advantages in experience and proven decision-making abilities. The depth chart typically favors players with demonstrated NFL experience and consistent performance, though physical potential can create excitement for future development.

Ranking Browns' MOST intriguing QB w/ Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, Taylen Green & Dillon GabrielAjouté :
I will tell you that the thing that excites me the most about the rookies this year is the wide receivers.
Between Denzel Boston and Casey Conception. Yeah, I know they >> You think? Yeah, I mean I can't think of [laughter] I Is there anything else that would be more exciting than that? I Well, shouldn't Spencer Rattler be more exciting? But >> No. It's a lineman. Like I can't get too pumped up about lineman.
>> No. There would be something more exciting. Okay.
If you stumbled into a franchi- franchise quarterback in the sixth round.
I Do do you believe what's coming out of your mouth or not?
Absolutely, I believe it. You believe they may have stumbled into a franchise quarterback?
>> You didn't listen very carefully, did you?
>> No, >> and I said, "If you stumbled into your franchise quarterback in the sixth round, that would be more exciting."
>> I said to yourself, "Do you believe that the Browns did that?" And you said, No.
No. Okay, then.
You asked what would be more exciting.
Well, that would be more exciting.
Way too early to tell, Andy. He is um I would I would think I would think no. I would think you add him to the group of Dylan and Shedeur.
And you just let him play. I do I do think this though.
You asked Scott, rank the guys in order of of where you think they are on the depth chart. Yep.
Can I rank them in order of the intrigue chart? Okay, I'll go ahead, Jeff. If you want to give us an intrigue chart.
>> quarterback in campus Taelin Green on the roster.
Shedeur is second.
And then Dylan Gabriel and De'Shawn are probably tied for third.
Okay.
>> Or Or De'Shawn is third and Dylan's fourth. Unfortunately for Dylan, I don't think anybody's intrigued by him. But how can you not be intrigued by Taelin Green?
6'5 and 7/8.
Runs like crazy. Has a big arm.
I mean the Andy, that's intriguing. Give me your other list though. Then I'll give you my intriguing list and then I'll give cuz I think Shedeur Sanders is still the most intriguing quarterback on this on this roster. I mean we saw a little bit last year. I'm wondering what it's going to look like this year when he's got some time hopefully to ramp up.
>> number two on my list of intrigue. Well, that's true. So in case you the person who is the most intriguing on Jeff's list, which is Taylor Green cannot fulfill his obligations to be the most intriguing.
[laughter] That Shedeur Sanders would have to step in much like the Miss America pageant.
No, to me it's still Shedeur Sanders.
It's it's it's not even close. Like I want to see what he can do. I want to put him in a situation where now he's got let's see what the offensive line is. I just don't know. I don't know if the you know, the offensive line underachieved last year or if what they put together for an offensive line this year is is going to work. We'll see.
There's a lot of what ifs. You got two rookie wide receivers. You're going to go back to a full back now. Okay, I like that.
Um Well, you've got to have one Andy. I agree. It's a requirement for every team at this time of the year. Now or when the season starts?
I so if you ask me the intrigue list, it's Sanders, Green, Watson, Gabriel. If you ask me what I thought the list was to actually play and start as I've said a long time.
>> was what? Shedeur number one?
>> one, Green two, Gabriel I'm sorry, Watson three, Gabriel four.
>> Where's Dylan? I I'm intrigued The thing that intrigues me about Deion now is can he get back to where he was and is he healthy?
>> Can >> if you ask me what the quarterback with the true uh depth chart looks like, it's Watson, Sanders, Gabriel, Green. I don't know how it can't be at this point. It is May 11th. We don't have any games tomorrow, do we?
>> I agree with you on the depth chart. So, I thought it was interesting to hear Scott Didn't you think it was interesting to hear Scott say that Deshaun had just kind of nudged ahead over? No, I I mean, the guy's The guy was really, really good at one point in his life.
And he's not It's not like he's 40.
Here was probably the most interesting sound bite of the weekend from Browns rookie mini camp when Green, Dorian Green, was asked who he would compare himself to. To me, I was like, "Whoa."
Here's the list.
They're I mean, I would say, of course, Lamar, but like he ain't 6'6", you know.
Josh Allen like is close, but like I'm 230, he like 260. And he I would say, I don't know. My dad said Randall Cunningham, but I really I really don't think there's anybody like me, you know, not on no like cocky or anything, just, you know, some just, you know, confidence, you know, there's nobody that moves like me that's, you know, as tall as me and stuff, so.
Mhm.
There's nobody like me, Jeff.
And, you know what, Andy? I like that.
>> I think he's right.
I like it.
He wasn't being cocky, you No, he wasn't. That's why I liked it. But But if you think about it, so his dad says Randall Cunningham.
Randall wasn't even as tall.
And Randall had a long NFL career. It was pretty good for a while.
Um I just want to see this young guy develop.
And this is the intrigue to me, Andy.
He's got a He's got a really strong arm.
And if if you're going to If you're going to measure the the guys in camp just on what we've heard and we haven't We haven't all seen it yet ourselves.
You know, you can watch video all day long, it still doesn't show you everything.
Probably the the strongest arm of all the guys.
The fastest of all the guys.
The biggest of all the guys.
Well, let's see. I'm a quarterback. I'm bigger, I'm faster, and I throw it harder.
Hello.
Move to the top of the intrigue list for me. How intriguing was it for Todd Monken though? That's my question. He answered it. And I think he's carried over the zoom meetings to this morning's meetings and then walked he operated the offense pretty well. I mean, for someone who hadn't been a part of it. Eyes weren't always in the right spot, but you could see a couple of times some of the things he can do with his feet when plays break down. So, that's that's exciting to see. All right. So, that was Todd Monken on Tylan Green.
If you're Todd Monken Yeah. and you've been a quarterback coach and you've been an offensive coordinator your entire career and you see this kid you can't help but think, "Ooh, I want to see if I can do something with this guy."
Look at you're glowing. Andy I'm I'm the guy who loves Anthony Richardson. That's true. That is true.
>> At least the idea.
I love the idea of Tylan Green.
Now, just because you're faster and just because your arm is stronger and just because you're 1/8 of an inch under 6'6" doesn't mean you can actually play quarterback in the NFL.
But by golly, I want to watch it and see. I can't wait.
This is going to be fun. What would be stopping him then? You've said three really important qualities that you need in a quarterback in the NFL.
>> Yeah, you know what the most important quality you need in a quarterback in the NFL? How to read a defense?
>> Decision making.
>> Yeah.
Decision making.
To me I I look at it as of today again, Watson, Sanders.
I don't know how Gabriel can't be third.
I just I mean Andy I I really hope they trade him so he can have a chance with another team.
>> Yeah, I know.
And then Green somewhere I I Just just think about Think about it. I'm I I tease Scott a little bit. Thank you, Browns, for adding yet another quarterback storyline to this crew.
Think about the storylines with all these guys. I just think when it all starts >> storyline with everybody.
>> Green's going to be on the practice squad when this thing starts. I I mean Here's the reason I don't think he's going to be on the practice squad. They drafted him.
He was drafted, and you know how they feel about the guys they draft, especially the first year after they draft them.
Well, so that makes me think that either Sanders or Gabriel's going to get traded or or something happens with Watson again.
All possibilities.
And when I mean something happens, I you you know where we're going down that road. Um you know, I hope he stays healthy.
If I'm Todd Monken, I don't know how you can't. I can't see this I can't see Monken not looking at the four quarterbacks standing in front of him going Watson's probably giving him the best chance to win. I don't know how he I mean, I Sanders has to Sanders has to beat Watson out.
I I I If you ask me, I want Sanders to start, but I just think that what when it's all said and done, I've been saying this for almost 2 years now, money talks, and if if Watson is close or capable, he is going to be your starter this year. I I can't that the number that is the number one question people when they see me, they're like, "Hey, what's going on with Watson? Is he really going to start next year?" And I have There's hard for me to say no, I don't see how he's not starting next year.
I mean, Sanders has to blow him away in camp to take over the spot, don't you think?
Yes.
I again, I've I've said repeatedly, I can't imagine a healthy Deshaun Watson standing on the sideline holding a clipboard.
I don't either. I don't >> Keyword there was healthy.
Well, they built it. I and it was I'm trying to remember who I asked this last week.
Did they build the offensive line for any one of their particular quarterbacks? And I don't think they did. I think they just they filled in what they needed to fill in and to bring guys and make it the right way. I I can't believe that you know, Tylan Green were even think contemplating that at this point, but you're right. There are some really intriguing things about him as they try to you know, figure out this quarterback situation. I'm just I'm just telling you today I think it's Deshaun Watson. I think everyone that you listen to will tell you the same thing that Watson's got it to lose at this point.
