This sermon teaches that when we experience hurt, we have three options: pray to escape it, pray to endure it, or pray to enlist it as a servant. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, where Paul describes his 'thorn in the flesh' and God's response that 'my grace is sufficient for thee,' the pastor explains that God may not remove our difficulties but gives us the grace to handle them. He emphasizes that God specializes in the impossible and will do what no other power can do, encouraging listeners to receive their hurts as gifts from the Lord and reflect on God's glory through their struggles.

Dr. Frank E Ray Pastor - The Sermon That Made Many People Cry
Added:scripture to go with what the choir just shared with us.
John 8:44 said the devil is a liar and he's the father of lies.
He tell you you going to die.
>> But the Lord say you shall live.
He say you have been conquered.
The Lord say you're more than a conqueror.
The devil is a liar.
Somebody shout glory in this house.
Thank you, New G and Chris. Thank you all so much. Come on, let's bless God for this wonderful gift that God had blessed us with.
our young people sharing with us today.
It's good to be here, is it not?
I say it's good to be here, Pastor Trey, and to all of the sons of the house and all of our deacons, our brothers and our sisters. It's good to be here.
2 Corinthians chapter 12 vers 7 through 10.
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelation that was given to me thorn in the flesh.
the message of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
He said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee.
For will I rather glory in my in infirmity, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore, I take pledge in infirmities, in reproach, in necessity, in persecution, in distress, for Christ's sake.
For when I'm weak, then am I strong.
How to handle your hurts.
How to handle your hurts.
Help me say that. How >> to handle your hurts.
Thank you so much.
I would imagine that there's no house in Memphis that can hang a sign out of the window and shout, "No hurt here."
Even though we don't know it, the person next to you have either been hurting or are hurting or will hurt.
One of the problems is that when not if but when we hurt, we don't know how to handle our hurts.
We resort to things that may not be to our best interest.
I talked with a young lady some weeks ago that she had quit having anything to do with men and decided to spend the rest of her life with another woman.
I asked her how did it happen? What happened? What led her to do that?
She said she was deeply in love with a man and he he hurt her.
And because he he hurt her, she decided she was through with men.
Strange because many of us make stupid mistakes when we have been hurt.
I'm looking at somebody here now.
You own the bottle heavy.
Drink every day.
Spend all your money in alcohol and strong beverages because somewhere you have been hurt and you're trying to drown your hurt in the bottle.
But whatever you're sober up, it will still be there.
You cannot drown it in the bottom of a liquor ball.
There are some people that you know have bad attitudes, bad dispositions.
Uh their fuse real short.
You speak to them, they scream at you.
Somewhere down the road, they got hurt and they have tried to hide themselves in the hurt.
I see people wearing all kind of foolishness.
I see women wearing dresses so tight >> until you can see the blood running warm in their veins.
It's because somewhere down the road they got hurt and they trying to prove to somebody that they're something they're not.
People all around America have been hurt over something. Remember there are different kinds of hurt. There is what you call a physical hurt but then there is a mental hurt.
There is an emotional hurt and then there's a spiritual hurt.
And most of us have encountered some Whenever your heart is hurt, it's hard to find the solution >> because you can get medication from the chef for almost anything.
You can get domes peel for the backachche.
>> You can get bear for the headache.
Uh you can get rolls for gas.
But it's hard to find anything across the counter that can help a hurting heart.
I hope you're here today because I want to bless somebody.
I know you don't want to identify yourself. You don't want to raise your hand and say, "Reverend, you're down my street because I'm hurting right now."
Since I am hurting, how can I handle my hurts?
How can I move from where I am now to where I need to be?
Before I take you down the street, I want to show you a person that have been hurt.
You see, if you sometime we think we've gone through stuff until we're running to somebody else.
>> A man said, "I used to complain about having no shoes until I ran into a man that had no feet."
Sometime you think that what you're going through is difficult and maybe to you, but if you look at somebody next to you, what you're going through ain't much or nothing.
Y'all got a minute? I want you to look at 2 Corinthians chapter 11, right before you get to chapter 12, and see what the Apostle Paul encountered.
Remember the Apostle Paul was one of the greatest men that ever lived. He was a champion for the Lord. He was an apostle. He was an ambassador.
He was a theologian.
He was a professor. He he set up more churches than any person in the New Testament. He wrote He wrote 14 13 epistles. He can speak 13 or 14 different languages. The Apostle Paul was a champion. Now, I want to show you what he went through even though he was a Christian. And I should say to us, being saved does not exempt you from hurt.
>> Being saved doesn't mean that you're not going to encounter some things down the road. It's good to be saved. We ought to be saved. We need to be saved. You it's a it's it's is it's demand that you be saved. But even when you are saved, you're still going to encounter some things.
>> Y'all got a minute?
>> Watch first Corinthian or 2 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 24. It said of the Jews five times receive our 40 stripes saved one. They had a belief that whatever they decided to whip somebody and Paul was a turncoat for far as they was concerned because they didn't like him speaking in behalf of the Lord. And so when they got him they whipped him 40 lashes say one which mean 39 times. that they whipped him and beat him to almost de life because they had a belief and that if they would hit a person 40 times, the 40th lash would kill him. So they would beat him up to 40, so they would stop at 39. Watch the text. It says five times, not just once, he got 39 beatings or 39 lashes five different times. Anybody here been beat up?
Y'all ain't got to hold your hand up.
And then verse 25 said, "Thice," which mean three times, "was I beaten with rods. The other time he said, "They whip me with whips. This time they took rods and be now remember it's not because he did something wrong. He was preaching the gospel. He was winning souls for Christ. Can I tell you the devil don't rejoice when you become a soul winner.
>> The devil don't get excited when you're doing something for the Lord. He set out to take you out. That's why have you ever noticed that the devil look like don't bother you till Sunday morning?
That all the week ain't nothing happening, but Sunday morning look like all hell break loose. The car don't want to run right. You get ready to fix your bacon and eggs and you burn them up before you get there. The hot water won't burn, won't come on. You get in the car, it won't start. You put on panty holes and you tam before you can put them on good. your hair won't you got that little wild hair that just won't act right. It's always something the devil tried to do to hinder you on Sunday morning.
And if you're not careful when you walk in church, you run into a mean member sit there and roll their eyes at you like you say, "Who you think you are?
You ain't nothing in here. I'm so and so. Talk to me if you can."
Then he says, he says in verse 25, I was beaten with a rod once I was stoned.
In other words, he said they tried to kill me with stones. It said I suffered shipwrecks a night and a day. I was in the deep in journeys often in perils of water in perils of robbers.
In other words, bandits tried to take me out. I got carjacked in pearls of my own countrymen. That mean folk that look like me. People walk up to you and say, "Brother, >> be careful when folks start calling you brother."
Watch them because you've heard me said before, you go home, your TV gone, >> a brother got it.
You go out here and your hook cap's gone off your car. Brother got it.
You get home and your wife is gone.
A brother got it.
Talk to him if you can. He said, "Often with my own country." Do y'all see that?
>> It says, "In perils in the city, and perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, and perils among false brethren." That mean people that go to church with you, pretending practitioners of the faith. That mean folk that shout with you on Sunday morning will set traps to try to take you out.
It said in weariness and painfulness, in watching often in hunger and thirst, fasting often in cold and nakedness.
He said, "I've gone through it."
He said, "I was humiliated.
I was left for dead." Huh. Now I guess I need to tell you that if a person have gone through all of this, you might ought to talk to them and see how it is that they can look at you and say, "I can do all things >> through Christ which strengthenth me."
I mean, when you look at somebody that have gone through all of this and then they stand to the mic and say, "All things >> work together for good >> to them that love God and to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Whenever you see somebody do this and go through this and they say to you, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." I want to talk. You see, you want to talk to too many folks that screechy clean.
>> I want to talk to somebody got some dirt on them.
You want to talk folk ain't never gone through nothing. I want to talk to somebody been through hell and high water. TELL ME HOW YOU DID IT.
So I wanted to talk to this man because I said, "Listen, Paul, I got several members going through that's hurting.
I need you to help me tell them how to handle the hurt."
The text says, watch this. At the end of chapter 11, it said Paul was let down. Watch it.
And through a window in a basket was I let down by the walls and escaped his hand.
Here is an apostle.
They trying to get him away from folk and led him down out of church in the back window to the ground.
He was let down.
Sometimes in life, you going to have some down days.
Sun ain't going to shine always.
You You want it to shine, but you going to have some dark days.
you don't have some lonely nights.
>> I guess I ought to tell you the best way to handle that is treat other people right while the sun is shining in your life.
Because if you treat others right while the sun is shining in your life, when a dark day come, somebody is going to give you a light.
There were men hid in a cave.
They were in a dunion.
No lights, nowhere.
There was a upper window, two or three stories up and for them to see out of the window, the men had to stand on each other's shoulder.
And as they stood on each other's shoulder, the third man stood on the shoulders. He would look out of the window and see what was going on when there was light.
And then when they would let him down, everybody else in the dark says to him, "Sir, tell us what you saw when you was in the light."
You ain't saying nothing. Every now and then, God give us a speck of light.
Not always, but when God give you a speck of light, whenever you get back in the dark with your brother, >> tell him what you saw.
When you was in the light, >> watch verse 12, chapter 12 of the text.
Y'all don't mind if I walk through it.
He says, "It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory." Wait a minute now. Paul, he just got beat, just been a shipwreck.
He just been left for dead.
And now he talk about it ain't expedient uh for me uh to be glory. He said, "I will come to vision and a revelation."
The word a revelation is apocalyptto in the Greek language. Kaluto is a compound word. Kutoto mean to conceal.
It mean to cover.
It means to tuck away.
But the prefix opera apo connected to galipto mean to uncover.
It mean to unveil. It is like you in your house and you have never opened your curtains and it's something beautiful on the outside but you ain't never seen it because you didn't open your curtains.
Well, Paul say it was something I had never seen, but God opened the curtains.
You You all get it in a moment. He, in other words, stuff I couldn't see, he revealed to me. Preach, Reay, he revealed it.
Help me say, he revealed it. He says, "I knew a man."
>> Now, watch this.
He talks in the third person. In the English language, there are what they call three persons. I'm very poor in English. You already know that. First person is the one that's talking.
Second person, the one he's talking to.
Third person is the one he's talking about.
Sometime if you're real smart and don't want folks to know who you are, you talk in the third person.
If a man man said uh was they talk about one of these vitamins on television, you see it all the time. I can't think of name. A lady, she wants to get these vitamins for her husband. And she said, "What if you knew a man >> that could be beneficial for these pills?"
Paul's talk in the third person.
>> Y'all got your Bible?
He says, "I knew a man, don't pass it too fast, in Christ."
He said, "The man I knew, he was not a sinner. The man I knew, he was not a renegade. The man I knew was in Christ." In Christ above 14 years ago. Wait a minute.
Paul is just letting us in on a secret that he had for 14 years. I don't know about y'all, but if you had s had encountered what Paul had encountered, it would have been on Facebook the first day.
It would been on YouTube all over the world.
A BOOK WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN OUT.
This is for free. I ain't charging y'all for this.
Some things that happened to you, >> you need to ponder it in your heart instead of telling it everywhere.
Your dirty laundry don't need to be spreaded everywhere.
>> You on vacation. Go take your vacation and shut up.
>> You got to let everybody know what you eating and what you're drinking.
Oh, I feel like it today.
You got to let EVERYBODY KNOW WHO WITH you stuff in Vegas.
Please stay in Vegas.
You got to tell everybody about it. You don't need an amen for everything.
>> Learn how to keep some of your OWN PERSONAL LIFE A SECRET.
For 14 years, Paul kept a secret.
I didn't I didn't make it up. It's like it's it say about 14 years.
He said, "I had one of these inner outer body experience."
In other words, when they beat him up, he was left for dead.
But just for a moment, his spirit left his body and went to heaven.
Now he says it was the third heaven.
Oh, third heaven. You see the Bible is loaded with heaven.
Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."
2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, seek my face, turn from thy wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive them of thy sins, and heal thy land." Psalms 139:7, "Where shall I flee from thy spirit? Where shall I go from the present if I sin into heaven?
Thou art there. Isaiah 66 verse1. Thus said the Lord, heaven is my home, and earth is my foottool.
Matthew 3:16, and Jesus came straightway up out of the water, and heaven opened up, and a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 5:4. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 6:9. After this man, I pray you, our father, which are in heaven. Talk to me, somebody y'all hear me, don't you? Acts 1 verse 10, 11, 12.
Why stand you here? Gazing into heaven same way. See him go into heaven the same way he's coming back again.
Revelation 8 and1. And there was silence in heaven.
about the space of 30 minutes.
Revelation 21 and 1. And I saw a new heaven.
>> I saw a new earth. First heaven will pass away and there was no more. See the Bible talks about heaven. But Paul says a third heaven.
Where do you get third heaven? Well, the first heaven is where the birds fly.
Second heaven is where you see the stars.
But third heaven is where God live.
>> It was Steven when he was stoned to death. He lifted up his eyes to what?
Heaven >> and saw the father saw the son standing on the right hand side of the father.
You see heaven is where Jesus is.
One time when we got ready to look into heaven, we could look down.
Every other time in the Bible, when you look at heaven, you look up.
What you mean? When Jesus was at Bethlehem, >> when they looked down, they saw heaven.
>> But every other time when you get ready and think of heaven, you look up.
>> But Paul said, "I was caught up into the third heaven." And then he named it he said paradise.
Paradise. Paradise is mentioned three times in the Bible is mentioned in Luke 23 when the thief was dying on the cross.
Jesus says to him, "Today you shall be with me in paradise."
I had to ask the Lord about this. Wait a minute, Lord. The man just told you to when you come into the kingdom, remember you >> and you tell him he going to be with you in paradise. What's the difference? You didn't you didn't do what he asked you.
Lord, the Lord said, "No, I did more than what he asked.
See he asked to remember me when I come into the kingdom. The kingdom mean.
>> Paradise mean beginning.
>> He asked me to let his last day be his best day.
>> But what I did was I gave him a new beginning.
You know God will do that, won't he?
>> He will give you more than what you ask him for.
You you you you ask him to let you live long enough to see your children get grown. He'll turn around let you live long enough to see your grandchildren get grown. He'll give you more than what you ask him for. You ask him to give you a house, he'll give you a home.
You ask him to give you a job, he'll give you a good job. Is there anybody in the house know that God will give you more THAN WHAT YOU ASK him for?
I'm about to get happy in this house.
Lord, he said, I knew a man. He said, whether in the body, out of the body, he said, I cannot tell. He said, God know.
On anybody that know that really what happened, Paul said, is God. But the beginning of chapter 12, he was caught up.
Now, I'm preaching better than y'all said, "Amen."
I like it because sometimes in life you have some down days, >> but if you keep on hanging in there, you'll have some up days.
Some days it's going to be dark, but some days it's going to be bright.
>> And James cut in. He said, "Listen, instead of separating," he said, "Count it >> all joy." Am I HERE BY MYSELF? COUNT IT ALL.
Not just your down days, count your up days.
And not just your up days, but your down days.
He says, he says, uh, he was caught up.
Of such as one will I glory. Yet for myself I will not glory but in mine infirmity.
Then he says in verse seven, lest I should be exalted.
The word exalted in the Greek language mean this.
It mean to think too highly.
It mean to be vain and proud.
It mean to be puffed up.
It mean to look down your nose >> at somebody else.
It mean to think you're more superior than others.
Am I here by myself?
He said, "Lest I should not THINK ABOUT IT. HERE IS A man that have been to heaven."
You know a lot of folk, but you don't know many that have been to heaven and came back to tell it.
Pastor asks his congregation, "How many of y'all want to go to heaven?"
Everybody held a hand up but one man.
>> He said, "I know he didn't hear me." He said, "Let me see the hand of everybody want to go to heaven." Everybody held a hand up, but this one man, he was just staring at him.
He gave him another chance. Let me see the hands of everybody want to go to heaven. He about to held the hand up.
But this one man, Pastor Paul says, "Sir, you don't want to go to heaven?"
He said, "Oh, yes, sir. I want to go to heaven, but I thought you was gathering up a load today.
He's all I want to go, but not today.
Paul had seen something that no one else had seen. Can I tell you when God bless you, you got to really stay prayed up, >> not to think more highly than you ought to think.
When you can walk in and get your steak whenever you get ready, you riding a pretty shiny car and you got a garage to park it in. Talk to got you one good suit of clothes.
You got to be careful because you start looking down at other folk.
>> So, I know they wish they was like me.
No, you got to be careful because sometime IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL, GOD WILL KNOCK YOU DOWN.
Be careful how YOU LOOK UNDER EYE AT ANYBODY.
20 years ago now, I wouldn't tell it if it was just yesterday.
20 years ago, I walked in the place in Miami, Florida, had on some short pants and a t-shirt, and I wanted to buy a an expensive car.
I mean, it was it's it was an expensive car.
>> And I stood there and I walked around in the showroom for a whole hour, just just walked around. And finally the lady, she been sitting there all time sitting at the front at the reception.
She said, "Can I help you with something?" I said, "I'd like to buy this car."
>> You want to buy it? Yeah.
>> And then after she found out who it was, she called the president of the company.
They said they didn't think I was able to do it >> cuz I didn't look like I could do it.
>> Matter of fact, if I had have been working there, I wouldn't have paid me no attention either.
But you CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.
Be careful how you look under eye at other folk.
Boy, I'm feeling good in here.
He said that was given unto me a thorn in the the words thorn mean a stake.
Now those that try to figure out what this thorn was they gave it all kind of ideas theologian said was bad eyes and all that kind of stuff. But when you look at the text from the original language, you discover that Paul's thorn was people preach his thorn was troubled folk.
>> How many know folk will be a thorn in your flesh?
And you can't pray that God move all of them because if he did, it wouldn't be nobody here but you.
Friend of mine, I was with him this week.
He said that when he started pastoring his church, she had a deacon gave him purity hail.
every deacon meeting, every church meeting, every time he tried to do something, deacon would block it. Deacon would block it. Deacon would block it.
He said, "And when he died, he rejoiced."
He said he didn't go to all of the gravesides. He said, "But this one, he went to the grave cuz he wanted to make sure that he was buried."
He said as he committed the body, he said, "As it pleased the almighty God and me," he thought it was over >> with problems with deacons.
He said, "The very next deacon meeting, a little young deacon stood up and had the same spirit and it jumped off the dead deacon into another one. You can't pray that all your enemies die because they keep on coming." PAUL SAID, "I HAD A THORN IN THE FLESH, A messenger from the Lord."
He says, "I went to the Lord three times."
I thought, to be honest, that God won't never say no.
I've heard all my life that God won't say no.
But he said no to Paul.
Y'all ain't talking to me. He said, "Move it." I went to Los Angeles. Lord, you got a champion out here working for you. And what he's asking for ain't THAT MUCH. WHY YOU don't move the throne?
He said, "Don't move it. I didn't move it because it's not necessary."
I said, "What you mean ain't necessary?
Here's a man that's running for you, THAT'S WORKING FOR YOU, THAT'S LIVING for you, THAT'S SACRIFICING FOR YOU. WHY YOU DON'T MOVE THE THORN? He said he's doing more with the thorn >> than everybody else is doing without it.
Sometime your handicaps become your blessings.
>> Y'all ain't saying nothing in this house. How do you handle your hurt?
Three things.
Number one, you can pray to escape them.
In other words, don't move it.
Pray to escape it. That's why Walgreens is where it is.
That's why the other drugstores are there. We rush to get medications because we want to escape the hurt.
>> Nobody want to hurt medications.
>> Because we want to escape the hurt.
>> Nobody want to hurt.
Hurt don't feel good.
Hurt will keep you up at night.
>> Hurt will turn black hair gray.
>> Hurt will cause you to miss days at work. Hurt will have you sitting in church all by yourself.
>> I wish I had SOME HELP. HURT WILL HAVE YOU SITTING AT THE DINNER table and ain't nobody there but you. Hurt will have you sitting in front of your television. It's on but you ain't looking at nothing. HURT WILL HAVE YOU SITTING AT A RED LIGHT THAT'S GREEN.
>> Anybody here ever been hurt?
>> Paul went to the Lord three times about it.
Jesus himself went to the law to his father about it in the garden of Gethsemane. He said, "Father, if it be your will, let this cup pass from me. If not your will, I drink it up." HE WENT THREE TIMES BECAUSE JESUS HIMSELF DIDN'T WANT TO DO ALL this hurting.
You can pray to escape it. Preach, rever me. You can pray to escape the hurt.
It was David after his son Abselum got jealous of his own daddy decided he wanted to take him out while his father was standing in the palace window.
Abselon, his son, threw stones up at his daddy.
You know, you can take hurt from some people, >> but some folk is show different.
>> I mean, it's all right, bad enough for people in the street to try to hurt you.
But when the HURT COME FROM THE HOUSE, >> I wish somebody ought to help me IN THE WHEN HURT COME FROM THE HOUSE, FROM THE ONE YOU FED, FROM THE ONES YOU CLOTHE from the ones YOU SENT TO SCHOOL, WHEN HURT COME FROM THEM, is double hurt.
>> Somebody ought to shout glory in this house here. WHEN WHAT HURT COME FROM PEOPLE YOU HAVE TAKEN CARE OF.
>> David said, "I've had enough."
>> Said in Psalms 55:6, "If I had wings of a dove," >> he said, "I'd fly away and be at rest."
>> He was trying to escape the hurt.
Elijah was a champion. He walked in King Ahaz's palace.
Walked in, pointed his finger at him, asked the Lord God, "Live. There'll be no due nor rain until I give you word and walked out. Heaven shut up for three years and six months."
He defeated the prophets of Baal.
But that was a woman named Jezebel.
She just sent him a text message.
Get out of town.
I'm coming after you. If you're in town, when I get there, I'm taking you out.
Champion Elijah ran and hid under a tree >> and prayed to the Lord, "I've had enough.
>> Take my life. Ain't no better than my old daddy." In other words, he said, "I've had enough."
>> Is there anybody here ever got to the point in your life >> when you've had enough that you say, "I I'VE HEARD IT ENOUGH.
I'VE HAD ENOUGH.
You can pray to escape it, but you can also pray to endure it.
In other words, hurting is here.
I'M JUST GOING TO CRY and keep on going.
>> Have you ever ran into somebody that's hurting and you ask them how they doing?
They tell you, they spend all day telling about the ailments, the burdens of the heart, what they're going through. They enduring it.
They try to keep on handling. They endure the suffering.
Y'all don't like me this house.
>> And sometime you just got to keep in doing it.
You drowning and the rope break.
>> You have to reach >> beyond the break.
Tie knot in the rope and keep on going.
I'm about to let y'all go. Number one, you have to learn how Lord to escape the hurt.
or endure the hurt.
When you escape the hurt, you make hurt your enemy.
WHEN YOU ENDURE YOUR HURT, you make hurt your master.
>> But there's something else.
>> You can pray to enlist your hurt.
When you enlist your hurt, you make hurt your servant.
>> How you make up your servant? Listen to what Paul said. Paul said, "Lest thou should be exalted above measure." Watch this. THAT WAS GIVEN UNTO ME.
When somebody when you give somebody something, there's a release veil.
Somebody break in your house and steal $50.
It will ve you to no end.
You hunt them down.
You take your gun and shoot them.
You don't want to ever see them no MORE BECAUSE THEY TOOK SOMETHING FROM YOU.
But if they get in your heart, you take them to the bank and give them WHAT'S IN THE BANK. TALK TO THEM AT SOMEBODY. When somebody take something from that's why I say all the time at home, be careful when a loved one passed, you said God took them.
No, you need to say I gave them to the Lord.
I couldn't keep mama forever.
She's 80, 90, 100 years of age. She's hurting. She can't sleep. She can't stay awake. She don't know nothing. Don't know nobody. And she've already made reservations to home weather builder and make her is God. And you just trying to hold on to her for your benefit instead of letting mama see the joy of glory.
>> Do I have a witness?
You must pray Lord have mercy to enlist your hurt which mean you make it your servant.
>> When you make it your servant you getting ready to see the good out of it.
>> He says lest I should be exalted above measure. He said that two different times. He said but I Y'all see the text DON'T YOU? FOR THIS thing I besought the Lord twice that it might depart from me.
Watch what it said. And he said unto me, >> watch what the Lord say unto you when you heard.
>> He said unto me, "My grace, >> it is sufficient."
>> Can I tell you I could close right there.
Can I tell you the devil don't like for you to engage in grace?
>> He try to keep you from being saved by grace >> because he know if you're saved by grace, you're going to be a champion for the Lord.
>> If you're saved by grace, he try to stop you from growing in grace. Because if you grow in grace, you going to win someone else to the Lord. If you save by grace, grow in grace, he tried to get you to fall in disgrace. In other words, you get caught up in the stuff that's not holy. You get caught up in the stuff that's not of God. Talk to me, somebody.
So you must receive number one your hurt as a gift from the Lord.
>> What you mean by that? That mean that whatever God give me, God also give me his presence.
Can I tell you God Lord will never give you something that grace can't handle.
He give all of us measures of grace. Did you know God give some people suffering grace? You ask yourself how in the world can they handle this? How can they keep a smile on their face when all the hurt that they've had to encounter? I tell you how. Because God gives some folk suffering grace. Y'all need a witness.
Come here. Job.
Yeah. Job lost everything he had. Job lost his family. Job lost his possessions. Job lost his relationship with his wife. And yet Job said to the Lord, "Lo, you slay me, yet will I trust in you upon all the days of my appointed time.
I'll wait until my change come."
Do you know anybody, ladies and gentlemen, that God has given suffering grace to? You walk in to see them and you all sad and sorrowful and wondered how they doing. And when they open their mouth, they said, "I woke up this morning with my mind uh stayed on Jesus."
I've known several people that have gone through hell and high water. uh and still got a smile on their face. Uh still got joy in the heart. UH IT BECAUSE GOD has given them suffering grace but God gives some folk singing grace. Uh that mean you can be in a storm and sing your way through it. Come here. Paul and Silas uh in Acts chapter 16 verse 25 uh they had beat them nearly to death. Uh but they walked to the jail uh where Paul and Silas were in the Bible said they sung uh and then they prayed. Uh I thank the person that pinned this song uh has singing grace.
Uh when he sung, "FATHER, I stretch uh my hand to thee. Uh no other help I KNOWN HAVE THOU WITHDRAW.
Thou sh ME WHERE the shall I go." Uh I thank the person that sung uh shine on me. Uh let the light uh from the lighthouse uh shine on me. Uh I think that person had singing grace uh the song do Lord uh do Lord Lord remember me. Have I got a witness here? Yeah. How do I list uh my uh hurt number one and list it by receiving the the gift of God? Uh have I got a witness here? But I handled next of all by reflecting on the the glory of God. You see, everything you do ought to have GOD'S GLORY stamped on it. Uh have I got a witness?
Uh that mean what I'm going through before I throw in the towel before I give up the ship. Uh I stand in the mirror and ask a couple of question.
Lord how is it uh you getting glory out of my life?
Have I got a witness? Uh because how many know uh everything you do uh ought to have God's glory stamped on it.
don't have a witness. UH I'M SUFFERING BUT GOD is going to show somebody I CAN SUFFER and still give God the glory. I can go through it and while I'm going through it I can still say I'm more than a conqueror through them that love the Lord. Uh have I got a witness here? Thank God.
THANK GOD.
HAVE I got a witness? Uh for giving God the glory innocent that a man was sitting in his living room. He heard some screeching of some ties. Uh he heard a dog uh whining.
He got up uh and went out the door. And that was a dog uh oh manger dog laying in the street, blood all over him, had been hit by automobile.
He picked the dog up, carried him into the house. Uh he cleaned the womb.
He put oil on him. He took his needle and thread and sewed him up. And then he had a conversation with the dog. He said, "Now dog, I don't like dogs and I don't have dogs in my house, but because you're hurt, I'mma try to heal you. So you can stay here tonight, but in the morning, you got to go." Morning came.
He checked on the dog. The dog was swollen.
Infection had set in. So the man had sympathy. He got the dog, patted him, clean him up, tried to get the infection out and start feeding the dog. When he knew anything, two weeks had passed. The dog was still in the house. After a while, the dog started getting well. The man fell in love with him. The dog was in the house for a whole month. The man woke up one morning and went in to feed the dog. The dog was gone. He had left the window up. The dog had run off. The man said, "That's what I'm talking about. That's why I don't have nothing to do with dogs. They ungrateful.
You spend money on them. You try to help them. They run off and leave you. He said, "I'm through with dogs."
A few days later, he heard a whining at the front door. He heard a howling at the front door. He said, "Wonder what in the world is that?" He went and opened the door and THAT SAME DOG THAT HE HAD healed was standing at the door on his back legs.
The man said, "Don, you might were gone and leave. You're not welcome here anymore. I nurse you back to health and to show me how you appreciate it." You walked off and left me. About that time, the dog stepped aside and behind the dog was three other crippled dogs. The dog was saying to the man, "You heal me.
Now heal them.
I'm like that dog.
I'VE BEEN HURT BEFORE.
I'VE BEEN WOUNDED BEFORE.
I'VE BEEN SCANDALIZED BEFORE.
I KNOW HOW IT FEEL to be heard.
Since God HEAL MY HEART, I WANT TO HELP SOMEBODY ELSE AND TELL THEM YOU CAN make it.
Have I got a witness? Look at somebody.
I am A LIVING TESTIMONY.
I COULD have been dead sleeping in my grave. BUT THAT GOD of mine, THAT GOD OF MINE, don't try to escape it.
Don't try to endure it, but enlist it.
And know that God may not come when you want him, but he is always right on time.
Help me say, "ALWAYS."
ALWAYS.
HALLELUJAH.
I'm through. I ain't going to hold y'all. HALLELUJAH.
YES, SIR.
YES, SIR.
I'm glad I know him.
I'm glad I'm saved.
I'm glad I'm sanctified.
I'm glad I'm filled with the Holy Spirit.
Won't he heal?
You hurt?
I said, won't he do it?
Won't he do it?
Won't he do it?
It's about Eyes are closed.
