[00:00:41]According to Mongol tradition, senior leaders were expected to return and take part in choosing a new ruler.

[00:00:53]At the same time, Europe's forests, rivers, fortified cities, and fragmented terrain were less suited to the fast-moving cavalry tactics that had brought the Mongols success elsewhere.
