[00:00:04]Well, that loud boom was heard and felt by many across New England, especially in Massachusetts and New Hampshire earlier today. The US Geological Survey confirms that a sonic boom was heard and felt in southern New England, most likely caused by a kind of meteor. We now turn to Krista Bridges with more.

[00:00:23]>> Yeah, kind of an interesting day. Not only weather-wise do we have this like kind of weird nor'easter, but we also had this meteor that entered the atmosphere. It was a bolide, so it's a meteor that enters the atmosphere. Uh the force of it, you know, fric- with the friction with the atmosphere causes it to have immense pressure on it, and it can explode. And that's exactly what we saw today. And so, you can see it actually from satellite. This is a satellite image I grabbed from NOAA. And yeah, it shows the meteor exploding. It looked like over the South Shore of Massachusetts, right off the coast.
