This video provides a hauntingly precise critique of how historical legal systems systematically failed victims of domestic violence. It effectively transforms a forgotten grave into a sobering testament to the institutional apathy of the past.

A Struggle for the Gun? Abused Wife's Brother Settles the Score.Added:
Hey, happy Friday everybody. I wanted to check in with you this morning because I got a very interesting comment on an episode that I did. We did 5 years ago. It was April of 2021 early on in the channel. Mount Carmel Cemetery, the iconic Mount Carmel, Hillside, Illinois near Chicago. Many of you know we've done many walks there at that iconic place. I probably have over 20 episodes, but this was a circle back.
This comment came in from a descendant, a relative who was commenting on it. So, I went back and it is a very low viewed episode. I think I had a bad thumbnail and a bad title and didn't have a lot of views. So, maybe some of you old-timers will remember this, but I'm going to reproduce it here because the comment came in from Ethan Aleruso 7946.
And the comment was about his grandfather's uncle. Now, that's who I think is the man who shot and killed the man we were looking at. So the man we're looking at is Venenzo and his little boy his you know the oval porcelain. So he said that Venenzo is my grandfather's uncle. I believe he was murdered by his wife or brother-in-law.
So okay, Venenzo was was on his side.
So, interestingly, I went back and I looked and sure enough, in the the pinned comments, we did go back and we had a viewer who came back and solved the riddle and then we had some more information come in on some some other family history there and wow, we had it all solved. So, I I I replied to him this morning and I told him I gave him the whole overview, but I wanted to share this with you because it it's really interesting. I don't think a lot of you have seen this. Maybe you old-timers have, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to reproduce it here.
It's like 6 minutes or something. And so, you don't have to go back and try to find it. And note that subscriber Sharon Zach found out that Ida's husband Vincenzo was shot and killed by his brother-in-law, brother of wife, for abusing wife's sister. He actually confessed 13 years later. Wife claimed at the time of death that they were fighting Vincenzo, pulling the gun. They struggled and the gun went off and it was an accident. and the wife was acquitted. Do you think it was an accident? Well, we'll never know.
But, you know, it's interesting. I I I look at this and the re, you know, want to get your guys opinion, but uh you know, the the the spousal abuse went on bad back then. It still goes on today.
And I think there were more more acquitt back then. It seems like there's a lot of women in jail today that were abused.
And I don't know if that's I don't know. What do you guys think? So anyway, I'm going to reproduce it so you don't have to go back and find it. And it's at Mount Carmel.
Check it out. Here it comes.
Hey gang, we are back at Mount Carmel for a very quick quick circle back on a family that we saw a grave in the part 12 Mount Carmel series, if you will, where we wanted to solve the rest of the mystery of the family. There were some pieces missing. Very sad story it looks like as you put the pieces together and that would be of Vincenzo here who was the father and this is his grave with his son little Michael. Now little Michael was killed in a car accident.
Now his father Vince Vincenzo died August 1924 and if we remember him which we do it was 7 months later that his son little Michael was killed in a hit and run car accident here on Wells and 31st Street.
I believe the driver was never caught.
It was a crime and a very a very sad story indeed.
It gets sadder because we found the rest of the well part of the rest of the family here just about 50 yards away in this direction. We're going to walk over there.
And it was only 10 years later that his older brother had passed away.
And checking with Ancestry and everything else. And maybe you guys will have better luck. I was unable to determine how he died, but he died very young.
Truly a sad story. Like many of the stories here, this appears to be a younger picture of John because he lived to be 55 years old.
Just kind of going along here. We're still going to keep this pretty quick, but I do, you know, might as well stop and look at some intriguing pictures as we go. Right.
This man died rather young, 33 years old.
And this is his mother.
An amazing picture.
They are right over here.
Yeah, here it is.
So you see here we have Paul who was born in 1913. He was born before little Michael and Michael died in 1925.
And we see here Paul died 10 years later.
There's a picture there's a closeup of Paul.
These porcelain are just amazing.
Now, Mom Ida remarried at some point.
Probably it could have been before Paul was uh maybe the records will show somebody could find that when she was remarried and whoever she was remarried to, he's not here.
And this would be the the blank spot for him. And hey, he might have been a younger man. He may still be alive.
It's It's plausible.
Not likely, though. Joseph, and this is what's really this is what's really sad. Mom, again, mom died in 1985.
And uh Joseph was born in 54.
And what a cute little guy he was.
And he he died three or four years old.
We don't know cuz there's no there's no exact birth date.
I think there was a death date in the ancestry, but that is almost the rest of the story on the Elaruso family.
So, if you have any any information that you can dig up, great. But this is just a little quick one we'll throw in.
And uh see you in the next one, guys.
