Game design philosophy significantly impacts player engagement, with RPGs emphasizing character progression, stats, and interconnected gear systems that create meaningful character evolution, while action-adventure games focus on narrative, stealth mechanics, and environmental storytelling. Successful games balance these elements to create immersive experiences that resonate with players' preferences for either deep character customization or compelling narrative-driven gameplay.

Yo yo yo, how we doing today everybody?
Good to see you. Good to see you. Hope you guys are doing well. So we're back in Conan Exiles.
Now I'm sure a lot of you guys are wondering like what happened. So just to go over real quick, I'll let you guys know what's going on. So, I returned to Conan Exiles for Conan Exiles Enhanced.
I was having a really good time. Um, one of the reasons I returned is because I had a bunch of free updates, which is awesome. And, you know, I I've always been okay with Conan Exiles. They had a cosmetic cash shop and everything was good. So, I was playing along and everything was fine. And then the short of it is I noticed that the cosmetic cash shop is not only cosmetic. And that unfortunately made me not stop liking playing the game, but it did make me have to strongly consider stopping streaming the game because one thing that I do not stream on this channel is predatory mon monetization. I don't do that. Especially these days, you guys have given me the choice to really really be make a thick line about that and I do. So, um, when I found that there was cosmetics when there were items on the store that allowed for Q types of enhancements, I said, you know what? I'm going to I'm going to put this down for now. like I I'm still enjoying my playthrough, but I'm going to put it down. Like this is just a little too much for me, like etc., etc. So, it's been a few days and it turned out the situation wasn't quite as black and white as we thought. The situation was that when the Q items on the cosmetic store were put in the game, they were actually put in via a battle pass that you could earn free currency in. And then when that system was retconed three or four years later, they did not go back and remove the one item that had the Q in it, which is these specific chests.
As of this morning, uh, Funcom has accepted that that is not how it was supposed to be and they explained the situation and they're going to patch in the functionality of the cosmetic Q chests into the base game.
So, because of that, I'm going to return to the game. And I really, really appreciate I know they're busy right now. They got a lot going on with there there's a lot of issues with lag on the Conan servers. They're working on Dune.
They got a lot going on.
>> So, the fact that these guys took the time to make this change when to put it bluntly, they know that not everyone cares about it, like this is a this is a minor thing to most people, but it's a really big deal to some of us. So, thank you. Thank you very much for doing that.
I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but again, it's a very big deal to some of us. So, that's why we're back and uh we really appreciate it cuz yeah, this game's cool. [laughter] So, is it implemented yet? It is not implemented yet. Uh they said they're going to look into ways to do it. Um considering how many moving parts there are in these games, considering you have to have your patches QA tested, approved by Steam, implemented, pushed out, I am not expecting this change to get here like now. um that that would that would be very hard for them to do in in the in the gamedev world we live in. Um but they have said they're going to do it.
So for me that's enough to come back. Um that that I I do not think that they are lying to my face. I do not think that.
[laughter] I I I I like to think I have a little bit of faith in the game dev industry left to think that they are not lying directly to my face. So I'm I'm going to trust them on this. Um they tell me it's going to be in the game, it's going to get in the game. So that's that's where we are with it. Y Okay.
Anyway, now that we're back, we got stuff to do. Oh, man. Okay, so um I will say I I haven't decided yet if I'm going to use the chests. Um I'm I'm I might I might hold off on that for me personally or I might just bite the bullet and do it cuz I really want that that [laughter] Q. So, we'll see. Um but yeah, but yeah, we got a lot to So, the first thing we're going to do today, right now, actually, is we are going to go to um the sorcerer place. I want to go to the sorcerer place. Hi, good morning.
How's my Siri Chan? Hi, Siri Chan. Wait, where's where's Hey, Zultan. Oh, I got to give Danny a pet. Where's Danny? Hi, Daddy. Or we should pet our animals.
Next batch. That's fine.
Okay.
All right.
You know what also has chest? Gothic and full loot, [music] too. Brother, we have the Gothic remake around the corner. It is around the corner, friendo. We're so close. Yeah.
Sorry to uh say patches don't need Steam approval considering they laid off a quote of QA. Cosmic. Oh. Uh well, Dans, I meant more that like it has to go into the Steam update pipeline and everything.
Yeah, which just takes more time [music] than sometimes. I I'm pretty sure that Steam has to approve patches cuz I'm pretty sure they still do like like malware and adwear scanning on patches.
Although there was that slip recently, but no, I thought Steam had a patch process.
We haven't gotten to that process yet with Emberville because we're doing everything behind the storefront. So, yeah, I'm not I'm not sure about the Well, I'll know I'll know soon, but I don't know right now about the exact details of it.
Uh, okay. Let's grab our guy. So, now we have uh JFK. I do need to get a better fighter. I really need to get a better fighter. Um, he's only like a rank two.
I don't have anyone cooking right now.
So, Oh, we got to get you Steve Brule. I need to get you like 50 pounds of Steve Rule. Where where is where is our Grul?
I think it's in the fire.
Oh, hey mods. Can we um can we make a clip of that beginning area in case anyone [music] asks today? Why is co playing Conan Exiles? I'd love to not have to like go over that a thousand times today. That'd be great. Um, where is the There we go. There's my gr. Okay, I'm going to put like 300 on you, bro.
You are going to be just You are chock full of grl. Yeah, you are. All right, let's go.
Co, why are you playing Conan exiles?
Dang it. Blank zero. You were you were here during it all.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Okay, you know what? I'm going to make daggers. I want to make daggers.
>> I'm not feeling the spear nearly as much as I was hoping. Can we make some good daggers?
Steel pawnards. Let's make some steel ponyards.
Hey, unique gamer >> at Co Carnage. This is my first time putting a message in chat ever. I found you during the BG3 playthrough and you showed me that I really like CRPGs.
First with Rogue Trader, now with BG3.
>> Nice.
>> Although I am pissed because I don't hear Amelia telling me to drink some water.
>> Much appreciation. Best of luck.
>> Thank you so much, man. Thank you. Um Co, you should look into getting a relic hunter. A relic hunter. Where would I get a relic hunter? Is that at the nearby town? Is that is that like a name?
Yours will have your souls.
>> When are we playing 007?
>> I'll let you know.
What time is it?
[groaning] >> [screaming] [groaning] >> Daggers seem really good.
The Bond game's getting good reviews.
Good. Oh, that's great news.
That's great news. What build am I going in PoE? Uh something most likely Murky.
Yep. I I really like mercenaries. So, I think uh Zizin is making some merc builds. We will probably pick one of those. I'm thinking, do I go around this corner to get to the town? Is this the town or is this the town? No, no, no. I do have to go down here. Okay. Okay. And I missed my rhino. We got to We got to get a new rhino today.
Oh, okay. Ready, Cat? I'm going to I'm going to drop this on you. I'm going to drop this on you. This is every every so often I do this. We call We call it a temp check. Okay. Here's the deal.
You log in. Sci-fi dystopian. You generally start in your your home base, apartment, bedroom, corporate headquarters, whatever. You're running around on foot. Social hub. Lots to do like, you know, club with a DJ. There's like some mini games. You can buy equipment. There's a doctor. All sorts of stuff.
dystopian sci-fi world, but the vibe of like a 1980s, 1990s anime. You know those like super intricate animes they used to make of like like the spaceships and the mechs and stuff. Think that kind of vibe.
Okay, now the game small group or solo either guided quests or o or small openw world sandbox areas and dungeons. You essentially deploy solo or with a group. Um, and the idea is that in the hub you are on foot dealing with your implants stats and things like that, but in the field you're in your mech.
All of the actual gameplay takes place in your mech. And the mech is a combination. It's like right in the middle of Mech Warrior and Titanfall.
So, it's a large mech. Think five times the size of a person. Not like Anthem.
Not like on top of you. Think five, like big mech. You get to design your mech.
Your chassis determines your class. It's a four. So, tank, DPS, healing, [music] support, like EverQuest one. Uh, your limbs and your equipment dictate what active abilities you have. And then your weaponry and your chassis determine your auto attack. And your auto attack chain is set up like Matrix online. So if you equip like a gatling gun on your shoulder and like a laz rifle on your arm and you have like an 8 AP auto attack to work with, well like the [music] burst from the gun is two, a target burst is three, a laz gun shot is four, a laz gun whip shot is two, but has less accuracy. And then you can like drag and drop that order into the chain.
And then whenever you auto attack, it just moves through the chain. So it's kind of like an auto attack, but you design the auto attack. So um and then the idea would be you're not only doing missions to help humanity, but you're also like going to get rare mech parts and rare gear. The world is kind of like Mech Warrior where there was clearly a lot of technology before some kind of grand schism. So now humans have to raid for more advanced technology. They can't build it. So, like there'd be there'd be almost like EverQuest style camps where you'd like go into an open world zone and have to go like camp an area for a rare mob to spawn and then it might drop the the piece you need. Um, but like yeah, what's really funny about this is I put this tweet up idea yesterday and a lead from a gamedev company was like, "Man, that sounds like a cool game." And then me and him talk for like hours about what this game would look like. And then all of a sudden I'm like, "Holy [ __ ] this could be this could be awesome." [laughter] So like, huh? Yeah. That got me thinking. Got me thinking. Did I play Armor Cord 6? Uh, yeah. I loved Armor Core 6. Loved it.
Okay, there's a Stigian. Okay, real quick. Let's go back to this game. Um, so where is a relic hunter just someone I can see running around town or do I have to like go to specific parts of town to find them or or camp a certain spawn or something like that? I need a [music] dancer. We don't have a dancer yet.
The new Everville update sounds wild.
Oh, dude. I cannot wait. I cannot wait for you guys to see Everville. I'm so excited.
So excited.
The the relic hunter is in the dun.
Wait, up north. Oh, so relic hunters aren't here. I can't like come down here and get a relic hunter. Thanks, Peggy.
Trail, right back to you.
Okay. Oh, Chad is saying they're all Whoa.
I you um I'm trying to interact with her so hard right now. It wouldn't let me. All right.
Whoa, another named guy.
So what is a senol?
Can I cap him?
H [groaning] [screaming] >> y will have your soul like the cobra.
>> My bite is death.
>> [screaming] >> The plan was to burn down the dancer and then roll out and let my guy tank the other three.
That didn't quite work his plan. What the hell am I doing here?
I have no idea why I'm down here. I don't know. I I I thought I had a bed back at base. I've died lots of times.
I don't know. You know what? Maybe Hey, are we high enough level to go and just do that dungeon? You think? Cuz I mean, we're actually pretty close to this dungeon. Maybe maybe we should fall this down and see what it's like. Yeah, let's do it.
Yeah, we must have a bed roll down here, which honestly isn't bad. I mean, I got a lot of materials down here. I I may want to bring something down here to address that at some point.
>> [groaning] >> Do I have a bow with me? I don't. Am I Am I going to want a bow for this dungeon? The bow will be needed in the dungeon. Okay. Okay.
All right. So, uh maybe we'll go over here and make a bow real quick. Let's do that.
Oh, chat is saying there is a bow in the dungeon.
Really?
Well, that's convenient.
Uh, let's I need more of these.
Let's go over here and see what we got.
Oh, you know what? I could just bring my dude over here with me, couldn't I? Not that he'd be much help, but okay. So, is JFK dead?
No, he's scouting. So, I don't need to worry about him, right? Like, he's fine.
I don't need to go back and get him, do I?
Oh my god. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. That's Oh my god.
Okay. Uh here's a hunting bow.
Get some arrows on the way down.
Oh, I got some arrows. Here we go.
Perfect. Take some bone arrows. Okay.
This bow probably is pretty garbage, but that's all right. We'll make it work. Um we should probably bring some more food with us, maybe.
Let's see.
Oh, yeah. We got that weird stone guardian stuff. We never found out what to do with that, did we? Damn.
Yeah, we definitely have to come back here with like a like a big rhino or a mount or something. There's so much good stuff in this base. All right, let's go.
Let's do it. I'm going to leave this aloe here just so we're not chungusing it along with us here.
Why do I have a medium tacet?
Oh, is that that was this? What was that? This. No, no, no. That was the previous tier. Oh, there's a bed roll.
I guess I did screw that up somewhere.
Okay.
All right. Let's go.
Maybe we'll put a bed. You know what?
But we'll bring the bed roll with us and we'll put it outside of the uh the dungeon in case we die.
Yeah, Ironside. Oh, going going back to that. Um, I think it'd be really cool to have like a multi-year story thing planned out, you know, not necessarily live services, but just like it'd be cool to have like a threeear story be like an era one of like a mistorn, right? Like have a have a set of planned events that happen and everything.
That'd [snorts] be really fun.
How do I do this? There's like a I could do some kind of little dodge or How do I do that? That right there.
There it is. So, it's hold shift and hold left click. Yeah, I like that a lot. Can we do that with right click, too? Oh, yeah. We can do that with right click, too. Okay. We just got to be sprinting for a little bit of time.
Keep in mind the entrance to the dungeon is a puzzle. Oh, okay. Have I looked into Romestead? Uh, it sound that sounds familiar.
[screaming] >> Um, what is what is Romestead?
>> Literally, that's a good point. You probably have to plan for some kind of, you know, >> double-checking, so to speak.
>> Nice, dude. Get him, Barry. Hell yeah.
The Quinnia says this one. See what is Romestead.
Rebuild civilization in this action adventure survival game for one to eight players.
Oh, that's kind of cool.
Does look kind of fun. Nice.
>> [groaning] [screaming] >> I will feast upon you.
>> Boom. Get out of here.
Get out of here.
I will feast upon you. Yeah.
We'll get Barry. Just keep running, bud.
Just keep swimming.
Let's see.
Okay.
What about DS2? We beat DS2 yesterday.
Oh, that was a ride.
That was a ride. That one.
That one killed me. That was good. It was real good.
[ __ ] out of here.
Right. I just cut that woman in half with my daggers.
Damn.
Get him.
Um, hey Red. Well, no. I mean, Red, just I don't I don't think we need to make it a YouTube video, Red, because anyone watching the Conan Exiles playlist will see it. So, that's fine.
It's all good.
So, a Twitch highlight so we can just link it to people who are curious would probably work fine.
Have I played the misborn board game?
Man, I haven't played a board game in a last board. I only played board games with my kids.
I wish it wasn't that way. I just don't have time. Or friends. Yeah.
How do you handle multiple enemies with daggers? Carefully. Lot of dodging and bleeding. Yep.
Lot of dodging. That's one thing.
Daggers don't seem to be great against uh multiple enemies. And also, I'm going in without a tank NPC, which I'm a little concerned about. I'm really hoping this dungeon is like a little easy. Ah, maybe. So, we'll see. We'll see.
Oh god.
Bro Fisting Bros. That's a great question. Um, Megazip says it's a starter dungeon.
Great. Great. You can add more poison to the daggers with alchemy. I need to do that. Yeah, you're right. I saw that we can do that, but I haven't done it yet.
I just actually switched back to daggers. So, hi.
Two lands connected by a gem of otherly origin. Though the power bestowed by my masters, I may take you to the gem's original resting place. No, don't do that.
No thanks.
Someone in chat is wondering if Romestead is controller compatible. I would hope so. It definitely looks like so that could be really fun.
Boom.
Can I reset my attributes? I think it takes time, right?
Yeah.
Oh, Juventino. No. Is Romestead in EA right now? It's It's not in 1.0.
I think you have to be sprinting for like a certain amount of time. I don't really understand what's going on.
I'm trying to do that move, but I'm not able to do it consistently.
I think I'm doing something wrong.
Okay.
Hey, Cat Weasel. Good morning. You ever play Destiny? Man, I've I've tried to get into Destiny multiple times. Um there's there's just there's I think that you know I I was really thinking about this recently because Destiny has a lot of the components that I would really love in a game, but for some reason I've never been able to get into it.
And I really thought about it and I think the big reason why is I feel like it's not enough RPG for me. I feel like it's the same reason I couldn't get into to New World. Uh same reason I like it.
It's just it there's not enough depth to it. Like I don't like games where every item has a number and if the number before it is bigger, you know it's better. And you have a and you have like a big number that you have to be and like all of that ruins my immersion.
like it's just it it it makes it feel kind of mobile gamey and I can't get invested in it. And for me to like a game like Destiny, I need to get invested in it. I need to like want to chase high-end items that are unique that are like like exactly like Goth was saying yesterday on on DF that that like you know that's I love playing those types of games for that kind of thing and I just and Destiny just doesn't really have the tools to provide that experience. Not the one I'm looking for.
[groaning] >> [screaming] >> So, I think that's it's just a different different strokes for different folks kind of thing.
>> Nice, Barry.
>> Oh, don't get me wrong, I love numbers go up, but I I like numbers go up in the context of it's my whole character like evolving the way I want it to, not just my one power level number getting bigger. I feel like that's too simple. That's too basic for me. I can't that's so unrealistic that I can't like get into it if that makes sense. Yeah.
>> I don't know. It's It's a weird personal thing, man.
[screaming] [groaning] >> I want stats, not gear score. Yes. Yes.
I want to look at a piece of gear and have it have like multiple different stats that I find super interesting. I like it. Let me let me put it this way.
I love so much in EverQuest 1 that the endgame gear of a class involves gear from all across the level spectrum that's all around the world. So, the best earring that a high-end caster class can wear in EverQuest one vanilla is a bat skull earring that drops [music] off a level 20ish mob in a newbie zone.
And like I love that [ __ ] I love I love the idea where it's like some newbie lower level player could find this super rare awesome item that some epic mage may want to buy from him for a super high amount of money. Like that it it makes the world feel so [music] much more interesting. I I don't I don't like games where it's just every every zone [music] has the exact items for that level and the second you level out of that zone, all of those items are useless and then you need to get all of your new items for that zone. And then when you go to the next zone, all of those items are useless and then that's just so contrived. That's so that's so structured. It's so fake. I don't like it. I don't like that.
Yeah, it does it doesn't make the world feel [music] real. It makes the world feel contrived [screaming] like it was made just for me to make my numbers go up and it just doesn't do the same thing to me. It does different things to my brain.
>> It does different. Oh my god.
>> Upon you, [groaning] >> I will drink your blood.
>> This man's going to drink my blood, chat.
>> I hope Barry can take that guy. I don't think Barry can take like any Oh, well, he does take out a mace that starts going a little ham. That's good. What if I could get him some better gear here?
Let's see.
Taxidermy spider.
You are you even wearing gear, my dude?
Oh, you do have a full set of light armor on. Okay, so this skin suit is light 10. You're wearing light eight. I have a loin cloth, Barry. You look dashing. Actually, have medium tacets for you. There we go. Okay, cool. Uh, let's check these other guys and see if they have any armor on them. We can just pop on target lock really helps in this game.
Agreed.
Iron Guardian. Empty. Oh, dude. What is this stuff? Is it heavy?
Not really. Good. I'm going to take it.
Skull of Yog. That sounds fun.
I'm using any mods. Nope. No mods.
100% pure love. No. Vanilla. That's what I meant. Wait, what?
Shoot him, Barry. Boom. [groaning] That's [screaming] right.
>> Is that a skull on a stick? It is. It's a skull on It's a skull on a stick.
All right. What are you? This is where you keep your human pieces. Oh, good.
That's the human box.
[screaming] >> What is Press E to interact? What are you talking about?
[groaning] >> [screaming] >> Damn, girl. Whoa. King Rocknose head trophy.
Sure, I'll take your trophy and act like I deserve that when I put it in my base.
Um, I'll take this. What? I don't know what a stone guardian is, but I'm going to collect its arms like Pokémon and hopefully build one day. Hi. Why I Why can't I interact with Oh, it pays to have an ample supply of lubricants. Is this a diddy journal?
What is going on here?
Uh, I managed to slip out of the shackles binding to meet the wheel of pain during the changing of the guard. I ran through the desert until I could no longer see the village. Skirting the outer walls of the cursed city, I made my way to this place. For a wasteland, this desert teams with life and plenty of souls in need of a warm embrace as soft words whispered into their ears. I won't settle here, however. The cursed city looms over me like a beast, and I cannot relax in its shadow. I also have no intention of waking up to a scorpion skittering between my legs. I have enough of that horseplay from the locals. I will follow the river and see where it goes.
Interesting.
[screaming] >> Did I Did that arrow just hit you?
>> Very yawn will have your soul.
God, there's like one combo that's like 55,000 hits. There it is. That one right there.
>> Oh, bro, you got bleed daggers. Don't do that.
>> The one problem with daggers is that they don't interrupt for [ __ ] >> I will drink your blood. [groaning] >> They're interrupting me. I'm not interrupting them.
God damn it. I can't do [ __ ] anything versus these guys. Just nothing. Oh my god, that was horrible. Yeah, we need to get a shield or something, I think. Um, we also put down a bed before that area.
I I thought that the daggers were going to be a little better there than they were. That did not quite work out as planned. Um, [ __ ] Shitty, shitty, [ __ ] [ __ ] Uh, let's see. We've got a cutless. Do we have a shield here? We can pull the shield.
We do. Oh, do we have any things out here? Let's take a look.
Hey, Dodson. What's up, buddy?
Yeah, daggers are so good when we're using our tank guy because our tank guy pulls aggro. So, he's he's kind of a badass. But very unfortunately is an archer and archers are not nearly as effective at this it seems.
I wonder if I can take his bow off and make him tank. But then again, he barely took any hits. He's also not leveled.
So, um, which is another problem.
Let's just try a shield and see how we like this. See if that's a little bit better. Probably a lot more safe. I don't know how good it's going to be against multiple guys, though. That may be that may be a thing.
Yeah, let's go give it a try.
Uh, we'll use the cutless for now, I guess.
Okay. Oh, do we have a weapon repair kit we can use on this?
How do I use a weapon repair kit?
drag a weapon onto it.
Oh, there we go.
Okay, that works.
Cool. Thanks, chat.
Oh, yeah. Suzu, uh, I don't know if we want that in the title for now, but if you can just link it whenever you see it, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
We're going to go get Barry. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm going to go get Barry now.
So hopefully we'll be able to do some tanking while Barry um does some actual DPS cuz this is so so much more DPS.
Maybe once we get in we can switch back to daggers. We'll see. We'll play with it.
We'll play with it.
Yeah, McRibble. This is not my main sword or shield. I'm just kind of using this um for now. Yeah.
Let me just make sure this is even going to work.
I still feel like even with the shield, they're kind of kicking my ass a little bit.
>> The second I start to attack like that, the opening is just [groaning and screaming] through.
I mean, we lived though. That I feel like that's more than we would have done with the daggers. That's good.
Cool. Okay.
That felt That felt okay.
That felt okay.
really wish I had a mace or something.
What I think we're going to do is I'm going to go down here and we're going to we're going to I'm going to put a bed roll there and we're going to try to go in one more time. But if I don't make it in, if it gets hard, I think I'm going to make I think we're going to run back and get uh JFK and just do it right.
Yeah, we're going back. Let's just go back. I'm not even going to bother with this [ __ ] Um, it's going to be a little bit of a run, but we have to. Yep.
Uh, you know what? Let's take a bunch of stuff with us while we do it. Why not, right? We'll bring some We'll bring all these like little things that that we may want. We'll bring some steel fire.
Bring some iicor.
We'll bring our aloe with us.
We'll bring the golem stuff, taxiderermy stuff. We'll bring our our notes and sorcery things.
The stone guardian things.
Cool.
Okay. And wait, do we have I'm gonna let you go.
Yes, we we already we already have we have two car. Do I need two carpenters?
Do I want two carpenters?
What do you think, chat?
I'm probably going to want um higher level carpenters, aren't I? Yeah. Let's break the bomb with this guy. You get out of here. You're fine. Get out of here. Later, bud.
Okay. Uh, I don't think we have anything in here, do we?
No. All right.
All right, Chad. We're doing this. Let's go.
Doing it live.
So, our goal right now, we're going to go here up to this, and then we're going to cut across there, and then we're going to make sure we have a nice little I need to go ahead and like build a bedroom and get that going, I think.
Then we're going to grab JFK and go do the sword thing.
Hey Dub live, good morning. How are you?
Hey Cara, what's up?
I wonder if you adjust your attributes depending on using your agility or strength weapon. I do. I do. I I have not yet figured out how to reset my attributes, but I want to reset my attributes to agility weapons. I think I have a lot of strength stuff right now.
What I really want to do is I need to uh redo my attributes, and I want to get 15 grit. Is that Is that the one that allows you? I want to have two companions, dude. I did not realize that there was a a two companion buff. Like, that's massive. Feel like that'd be huge in this game. So, yeah, I think we're going to look into that a little bit.
Uh, let's go to the west and then we'll go north.
Sir, authority, you make a potion at the bench. Yeah, I haven't just I just haven't done that yet.
Be a gamer girl. Dude, my son Rowan is loving Fortza 6. He's having a really good time with it. He actually he uh he saved up some uh chore money and he was like, "Hey, Dad, can I buy a new game?"
And I was like, "Sure. What do you want to buy?" And he goes, "I want the $30 car pack for forza."
I was like, "Damn, dude." Okay, sure.
Absolutely, man. You should have seen his eyes light up when he saw those cars appear in his garage. [music] He just goes, "I can use all of these." It's like, "That's why you paid 30 bucks, my man." [laughter] Yes, you can.
They're really cute.
[screaming] This is fine. This is fine. We're fine.
This is fine. [laughter] [panting] Don't mind me just chugging health pots like it's going out of style over here.
Oh my god.
This entire stream is just going to be me trying to get back to my base because I forgot to build a bed the whole stream.
Hi, Moon.
[panting] What was that mech game co was talking about earlier? Oh. Oh, no. That's not a real game. That's That's uh something else. Yeah.
Mhm.
Adear. Yeah.
Okay.
Oh. Oh, that's a quest for later. Okay.
Now, we need to I don't want to do I don't know what this is. We haven't been here. I don't want to do it. So, we're going to go like a little more north now. I think towards the giant for boating red mountain.
Boom. Boom. Is a game map random? No, it's handcrafted. The whole map is handcrafted. There is no procedural stuff in this game, and I am totally okay with that.
Okay.
Got a nice little northwest vector now.
Going to stick to this. This bearing seems pretty good.
Just need to avoid as many guys as possible at this point.
Man, avoid as many guys as possible as I just, you know, get a few more friends.
Did Co mention how much of this game he's played off stream? Um, not too much. No, I I did a little bit of building off stream early in the game, but uh I haven't done too much off stream stuff this game. Whoa [ __ ] Why am I Oh, that was close. Uh, in this game, like a lot of the stuff you do is kind of outside of the building, almost everything else you do, I think I'd want to keep on the stream cuz you you there's like a lot of pro there's there's a lot of progressive elements in this game. There's quests you get. If you explore around, you can find all sorts of random new stuff. Um, it's it's uh yeah, it's not really a game you can play too much offline. If I do any offline gaming in this game, it's probably just going to be going to the town and getting thrs and working on any base stuff and harvesting. Yeah, not much to play offline, but I might do some of that. Yeah.
Now, can I go across here? I probably should try to do this. Yeah, we should probably try to get up here if we can.
It looks like this plateau is going to take us pretty cleanly to where we want to go if we can get on top of it.
Did they change the chest mechanic? Um, they did not change it yet, but they have committed to doing so. And that's enough for me to keep to get back in.
Yep.
A little update uh if you want to see it in chat.
Okay.
Oh god. Oh no. No. No. No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
These are all skulls. Oh no. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No. No. Oh [ __ ] These are white ones. Are these like higher level ones? Oh, serpentine.
Serpentine. Serpentine. Like it's going out of style. Go, go, go, go, go.
I'm seeing reviews for 007 saying it's Uncharted meets Hitman.
Well, that's a interesting combo. Okay, that sounds kind of cool.
I did see a tagline in a review that basically said, "It may not be as sandboxy as Hitman, but still, but that but that's not a bad thing." So, I'm I'm We'll see. I really really love Hitman because of how incredibly cool all the game mechanics are in the sandbox. So, I'm I'm a little interested to see if that translates over to 007. They're saying $7 is a little bit more uh story focused, which I I mean, you know, you're playing James Bond. That makes sense. But we'll have to see what that looks like.
Bond. Drake Bond. That's right. Squeaky.
Okay, dude.
Oh, this is looking a lot better. All right, chat, please remind me first thing when we get to our base, build a bed. Build a bed. Yep. Mhm. Mhm. Oh. Uh uh.
That That's a That's a big old snick. Oh. Oh. Oh.
Let's not Let's not make these angry, please.
Okay.
What level are you? I don't even want to look. I don't even want to check. I don't even want to get close to it. I don't care. Nope.
That's not a danger noodle. That's a danger hose, man. My lord.
Danger fire hose.
Yeah.
No thanks.
Right.
Looking good. Looking good. One day we're going to climb to the top of that.
There's a quest to time to climb to the top of that mountain which is pretty badass.
Oh, good. KFK went back to base.
Perfect. Perfect.
Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.
Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.
Boom. Ba boom.
Let's go this way.
Uh, Echronox Phoenix >> Co., are you planning to play 007 today or tomorrow? mods do the thing. Pls and thanks.
>> I'll let you know in 1 hour.
Why will I let you know in an hour? I don't know. Maybe you should be here and see what I mean by that.
Okay, I'm Mcloven says, "Why don't you just tell us now?" I know. It's weird.
Co, you're not very good at secrets.
What?
What? What? How dare mods? Get him.
You'll be hearing from my lawyers.
That kind of slanderous activity. I'm an internet personality. I don't have time for this. Okay.
Respect my authority. Uh, Ochre Mac. Oh, no message. Just 35 months. Thanks, dude. I love the Kofitar, man.
We've got O Cormat, the sick knight.
Super sick. I love it. Is Conan Exiles comparable to Dune? Yes, Dune was based [music] on Conan Exiles.
So, Dune Dune is Conan Exiles is a very damn decent openw world sandbox survival game.
And what they did for Dune was they essentially took in their mind the best parts of Conan Exiles and made it in like literally from the ground up. I'm not I'm not I'm not say I and I and I mean it when I say this. Dune does not feel like a reskin of Conan. It feels like they took what worked from Conan and from the ground up kind of implemented it in the Dune universe. So, but yes, to to put it bluntly, if you like Dune and you like the theme of Conan, you will probably like Conan.
Yep, you will probably like Conan. I was a big Dune fan in the Haga Basin part of it. I played 60 plus hours. Really enjoyed it. And uh this game has a lot of similar flavor to that.
What happened to Dune? Um, so what happened to Dune is that Dune had a very risky concept from the start, and that was we're going to make the endgame gameplay loop.
Whoa, hold up. I'll get into this in a second. Are these enemies?
What in the hell are second?
400 hit points. No thank you. No thank you. Okay. Anyway, so Dune is an extremely solid sandbox openw world adventure game in the Dune universe. It's got some Funcom jank. All Funcom games do. That's part of the pro that's part of the package. But there is some really Oh no, that poor deer.
There's some really awesome like fun and Dundrenched stuff. And also, I really liked the story stuff in Dune. It was surprisingly good, especially the voice acting and writing. That being said, when Dune came out, it had an identity crisis. It had a huge, huge problem.
And what that problem was is that they they took this giant risk in thinking that players would be okay with their fundamental gameplay loop changing at Endgame.
And the biggest problem there was is it wasn't necessarily a gameplay loop change. Like it wasn't a now that you've reached endgame, you can do something different. It was now that you've reached endgame playing the game one way, you have to play a different game to progress.
And to put it bluntly, that didn't work.
It was an interesting idea on paper. I see why they tried it, but the implementation did not work. There were too many players that got to the end of Dune and said, "I don't want to PvP. I don't want to play this game. I want to play the game I've been playing for the last 60 to 80 hours. I don't want to play a PvP game." Essentially, a PvP extraction game, which is what the end game was.
>> And unfortunately, on top of the PvP extraction issue, >> there were also major issues of like the PvP not working properly. There was a lot of lag. Like the melee system never quite connected properly to be viable in PvP cuz I mean you need split-second timing in PvP, but there was just too much jankiness in the interactions and everything to where you couldn't really like you'd have to be you had to really get good at understanding the delay to become effective. I talked to somebody who PvPed in Dune for over 100 hours and he said that PvP in Dune was not about being good at Dune PvP. It was about knowing how to get around the issues in the system.
And that was very telling. It's not the first game to be that way either, but it that's that's that's just how it is. So, to get back to your original question, what happened to Dune? I played and loved Dune until I got to the end of the game and realized that fundamentally that it was not going to work.
And um and to their credit, this is pretty this is pretty cool. They tried their best to fix Dune Endgame. They tried a bunch of different fixes. They tried to change how what's called I think it was called the deep des they change how the deep desert worked. Um they tried hard to get it working. But to their credit, they got to a point where they said, "Okay, you know what?
We like this isn't going to work for some of you. No matter what we do, there is a portion of you that this is never going to work. So because of that, we are going to go ahead and like redo the Dune Endgame." And that from what I understand, I haven't played it yet, but from what I understand, that's what this recent patch is. This this recent Dune patch is basically [music] like, "Oh, you guys wanted like a more PvE full experience. Here you go." So, from what I've heard, they implemented a bunch of stuff that still needs some some love and some patching, which is one of the reasons you haven't seen me like dive into it. Uh, but it's a good direction in my opinion. I like I like I like the direction and I do see people in chat that are really enjoying the update. So that's that's cool. That's cool. Um so yeah, that's that's kind of what happened with Dune.
That was the story of Dune. Like it Dune was was a was a it was almost like two games in one and the second game didn't really work out. That's the best way to say it. It was it was two games in one and the second game just wasn't really there. It didn't it didn't really make it. Um, so they are doing things about that essentially. Yeah. Which is pretty cool.
I'm here for it.
So, we'll see.
Place an actual bed in your base. The fiber beds will replace the old ones if you place them in the world.
Okay, I'll put I'll put a real bed down there. Um, let's do uh I guess I I we just need like a MISK for now. I guess I need I need like uh I don't I don't know if we should have a chest for this stuff.
You're the manufactured items. All this can go in here.
Yeah, but like this stuff like what what do I do with dead sorcerer maps and skulls of Yog and Man, we need Dude, we're going to build like an entire room that's just taxiderermy stuff. Wait a second.
This isn't like grounded, is it? Hold on.
No, it's not. Okay, I was about to flip out. [laughter] In grounded, you can build taxiderermy versions of all the enemies. And if you go up and use the taxiderermy version, it gives you a permanent damage buff against those enemies. So, I was like, "Oh, no. Have I been missing this entire time on this stuff?" No.
Uh, we're going to throw this in here.
Uh, we I thought we had a place for gold. Didn't we have gold in here? We had gold. Let's put gold in here. Animal heads should go in here.
There we go.
It's weird that there's more slots, but this just doesn't go to the bottom.
I don't know why that is. Uh, okay.
We'll bring some roasted stuff with this. Oh, let's go get uh actually, let's go back to here. Equip and consumable.
Feather goes in animal parts.
Great.
Okay. Can we make more concentrated aloe extract?
Feel like that's probably the good stuff, isn't it? That's That's the good stuff. Yeah, we need more of the good stuff.
Okay. Hey, JFK.
Oh, there we go.
All right.
Hi, kitten.
Oh, wait. I want to see what this thing looks like before we go. Yo, what?
Bro, that is badass.
That looks great. Oh, man. Okay. Uh, let's build that bed before we go, too.
And that's actually pretty legit.
Um, do I build the bed here?
Yeah, bed. There we go. I still need to build a legit bedroom, but we'll do that at some point in the future. I don't I I don't know where I want my bedroom yet.
I think I want to build like an actual castle deal.
Great. There we go. Okay, we're good.
Okay, so I feel like I need to start bringing multiple weapons with me like this. I don't I I normally in these games pick like one weapon and stick with it, but I don't know if this is that kind of game.
Is that two hand or one hand? That's That's one. Yeah, I need to build a good shield. What's the best What's the best shield we can make right now? I need to I need to unlock a lot of this stuff. Uh here.
Wait, there's different levels of saddle. Oh my god.
Oh my god. What is this stuff? Ancient.
Uh. [groaning] Oh, Ardan Steel.
Oh, I need to be level 50. I need to be level 50. Oh, damn. Okay. Okay. So, we'll wait for 50 for that. But I can't make an ancient shield.
What is an ancient shield tank? Probably armor.
Do you have a throttle to take with you?
Yeah. Yeah, I'm bringing JFK with us. My boy JFK.
Uh, where's that shield I just got? Does this have shields? It does. There it is.
Bro, what do I I can only make three of these. What am I missing? Steel.
Let's go take a look before we go. We'll get some stuff cooking.
Yeah, I'm bringing some better aloe potions.
Oh, you need to come with me, too. No, you need to be Put you there. Here we go. Oh, I need arrows, too.
Okay.
Nice.
All right. We're going to bring all the pots we can pretty much. I'm going to bring uh two stacks of the little pots and we'll start with the little pots and when we get to the dungeon, we'll go to the big pots. I think that'll be good.
Hello blue with a 120 months >> with Twitch crime. This is a long time, isn't it? Yay.
>> It is. Thanks for 10 years, dude. Thank you so much. Use the eye of set before you go. Okay, I will.
Great. Or bring some bandages, too.
Um, okay. Where where was the eye of set? Let's see what that is. Cat wanted me to use that last time and I didn't.
Was it in here? No.
I have to be honest I don't even remember what the [music] I have set is it was it was some item we looted off a dude right here a consumable learned acolyte of set I know nothing about this system. I have never partaken [music] in the religion.
I don't even know what to do. Do I Do I Do I pick one?
All right, we're we're going. This is happening. We got our stuff. You got your Grul. You got your Steve Grul. You do. Great. Okay, we're going. I got my food. We'll get water on the way. Chat, this is happening. We're going to try to hug the wall.
Not really hug the wall. Let's go like uh we're going south. The big thing is as long as we keep heading south, we'll be fine. South a little bit of little bit east.
Craft the religious weapon of choice.
Whack corpses with it. Profit.
What? Really?
>> Yeah. [screaming and groaning] A >> so so how do how do I how do I pick like which which religion do I want >> are are so all the religions do different things I guess oh also barely yeah thank you for posting that dude cool okay thanks man Barely Arcane and Klein. If I were to go back to Dune, like, is our base and everything still there, or am I am I making a new base in a new area?
Are we building a new base? If we go back to Dune, how's how's that work with the the update?
Barely moved into your base, probably.
Oh, you can unlock and use all the religions.
Oh.
Oh, cool. Magalina says your your base is definitely still there. Nice.
But no, what I'm wondering is like with the new expansion, I I don't really I I haven't looked super into how the new expansion works. Isn't the new expansion a new area?
Is is the idea that you go to the new area and build a base there? Is that how is that how it works?
Or or is the new area like deep desert?
We can just fly back and forth and stuff.
Oh, it's not. Oh, says it's not how the new area works. Okay, I'll look into it more then. I'll look into it more. Thank you.
I'll figure it out.
Uhoh.
Um. H.
It's a dungeon area. Oh, cool. Okay.
Okay. So, I would still use my old base.
Awesome. Great.
I might actually finish that base one day. [laughter] Dunk. How we looking? Good progress.
Perfect. Already about a third there.
How does the Lansrad stuff work on your own private server? That's a great question. I know I know that they let they let you make private servers now.
So, I wonder how that whole system works on a private server.
That's a great question.
I'll look into that later.
Okay. So, apparently if if we want to have access to all the religious area, I'm going to need an entire area of my base for all the different religions, aren't I?
Think so. Yep.
Oh, cool, Magdalina. Okay. Thank you for the the update there. Cool. Cool. Nice.
What's the cat's name?
>> Uh, on the top today we have Zolan. Hey, Zultan.
Oh, this is going to end well.
Interesting. Do I want to climb over this?
I think if I do, it'll be okay.
I don't even know if I can. Let's see.
Damn, dude.
Man's got some upper body strength.
Do you have horses that you can ride?
And do you ride them?
>> Uh, no. I've gotten a rhino so far, but I have not gotten any uh horses. And we went to look for some and I wasn't able to get them. In fact, that's probably what I'm going to do after this. My two big goals right now are to get better mounts, which I tried to do, but we weren't able to last time. And then this dungeon right here is going to unlock something called sorcery, which is that's like when the game starts from what I'm understanding. So, I'm uh I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what this is.
Wait, did you mean in game or IRL?
Wait a sec. Have you climbed to the top of the mountain to get the climbing gear? I have not yet. No. No.
Not yet.
What is this area? What is this? It's like I'm kind of scared scared to go in there cuz it it looks scary and endamey.
I don't see anything in there.
Wait, what did Bosram say? The cave unlocks sorcery dungeon does not.
Oh.
Oh, wait. Is that the cave that unlocks sorcery?
And that's just a dungeon.
Oh, I thought the I thought that was the same thing. I'm sorry. Okay. Well, we're still going to do the dungeon.
[laughter] Let's go do the dungeon and then we'll go get sorcery. Cool. Let's do that.
You can tell I'm experienced and I've done this before.
the cave will still unlock cool new armor. Oh, I'm down for that. Okay.
I like cool new armor.
I'm a fan of that.
Mind showing your attribute allocation?
I mean, I will, but it's not it's not good. It's not good. Like this. It I I'm kind of all over the place right now.
I'm going to be doing a respecon is the short of it. I'm going to be doing a respect soon. Yeah.
Try to get three skeleton keys before the dungeon. I am going to the dungeon right now, so I don't think that's going to happen. Yeah.
Thank you for the suggestion, though.
Yeah, if we need to do this dungeon again later, that's fine. I just I don't I've never I we did like one little dungeon with a crocodile at the beginning, but it was tiny. I want to I want to go in and see like what a dungeon is like with, you know, my little strength bro and all that kind of stuff. I want to see how this is going to go.
Uh, okay.
[panting] Yeah, that's the green wall of death.
Uh, the cousin of the blue screen of death, funny enough.
They don't talk, though.
Aranged.
There are chests at the end of every proper dungeon that only unlock with skeleton keys, though. That's fine. And there are ones that drop inside the dungeon. Oh, so you're saying sometimes not enough keys drop in the dungeon for the chests, so you're always good to bring more. Is that what I'm thinking?
Oh no, it's dropped. Oh god. Oh no.
Oh my god. Was I about to die? What is happening here? I'm like, that's weird.
That's very weird. One sec, chat.
Okay, I just realized I'm totally out of water.
What? Is there water in >> Whoa. What? What is this guy?
>> I'll have your soul.
>> [groaning] >> nice. Oh, that is so much better.
Okay, we need to be checking like everyone cuz I I don't know what's good and what's bad. So, um I probably am going to need Shoot. Is there Chad? Is there water in the dungeon?
I'd have to fight through all of these.
There is water, though. Okay, good, good, good. Let's go.
[screaming] >> I will feast upon you.
[groaning] >> I will drink your blood.
>> Take me.
Damn.
Over the drags.
Do I need to kill someone on this to open it?
Water flows through our city from untainted sources in the high places and down through the mighty aqueducts that we built to sustain us.
And the sewers carry away the waste from the city, washing it away in a torrent of pure clean water.
Slave, you have been chosen to maintain those sewers >> to sweep away the debris and creatures which gather in the foul smelling darkness.
Be honored, bonded one, and be wary.
Strange things grow in the gloom of those tunnels.
>> Is this the same thing?
>> Water?
>> Yeah, it's the same thing. Okay, so we need to bring someone in and try to kill him >> from untainted sources in the high places and down through the mighty aqueducts that we built to sustain us.
And the sewers carry away the waste from the city, washing it away in a torrent of pure clean water.
[screaming and groaning] >> Slave, you have been chosen to maintain [screaming] to sweep away the debris and creatures which gather in the watering darkness.
>> Be honored, haunted one, >> and be wary. Strange things [screaming] grow in the gloom of those tunnels.
[groaning and screaming] >> Your heart will be eaten. [groaning] >> These guys and their heart eating.
What's a gaseous orb do? Oh, it's a throwing weapon.
Puffer ball mushroom.
significant damage to those unlucky enough to inhale them. What? They're little gas bombs. Bro, did I just loot your head? A shrunken head. Ooh, a shrunken head. Fun.
Beetlejuice all over again. Get him, bud.
>> I really really appreciate in this game how large the loot pool is. Like I really feel like I need to look at every corpse because there's so many different things that can drop.
I never know what to expect from it. I think that's really cool. I like how they did that.
Same with the chests.
There's just always weird cool stuff in them.
There are also themes to the drop which is nice. Yeah. Yeah. Like this camp is dropping like the Defari stuff and Yeah.
Know that's that's super cool. Um I need to put my dude on passive.
Okay.
Casual bullet in their face piece >> in their brain pan.
[screaming] Aha. [groaning] [groaning and screaming] Huh.
Okay.
Not quite what I expected.
>> I think if I keep attacking him, it'll probably work, right?
>> [groaning] >> Bro, well fine then. You want to play this game?
I'll I'll pull your ass there with a rope. [screaming] See how you like that?
[groaning and screaming] Y will have your soul.
>> Y will have your soul.
>> Oh, what the actual f what?
>> What? [screaming] I am baffled right now. I think it's actually closer. So, we're going to try to go from here. I cannot believe that.
I cannot believe that. What happened? It uh the sorcerer just wrecked me. The sorcerer wrecked me with a really powerful combo. Yeah, dude.
He just destroyed me. That was that was brutal.
Yep.
Yeah. And the worst part is JFK was in passive, so he wasn't helping. If if JFK would I I was debating like trying to access his inventory while I was getting my ass beat and seeing if I could maybe like set Are there hot keys to set your people by any chance?
Probably not.
Is JFK going to die? No, no, no. JFK is fine.
He's fine. I'm I'm just hoping we can get there in time before he he disappears.
Can we go AC? We can go across the desert, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We can just go we'll just go straight. Hey big guy.
I swear to God if if Shy Halude comes out and eats me, I'm done with this game. I'm just [laughter] I'm just saying.
Oh man. Am I going to be playing EverQuest Legends? I am definitely going to try it. I I had a pretty I've I've had some frustration with Daybreak over the years because I really don't like how they they took EverQuest and like added in the cash shop and the chrono and it kind of kind of took something I loved and every time I revisit it in the Prague servers, there was just always this this corpo weirdness with it. So, I've never really been a huge fan of that. So, when they when I first saw EverQuest Legends, I thought this was just a like a reskin of their Prague system that they were trying to resell us. So, when I first saw it, I was like, "Oh, god." Like, "No, man. We should have gotten EverQuest, like a real EverQuest remake, not like just a reskin." Like, oh no.
Like, I was very I was very turned off when I first saw it.
However, uh looking into it more, it is not a reskin of EverQuest. They are trying to reinvent how the game is played.
And what they're doing is now it's EverQuest, but you pick three character classes and they're all on the character at the same time. I'm trying to like figure out how the whole but it's it's this. It's basically it's a EverQuest Legends is a different take on EverQuest designed for people that want to have a smaller group solo experience.
And more importantly, some of the people working on it are the same people that I know for a fact are very passionate about what they're doing. Because one of what I what I later found out is one of the leads on Legends is the woman who was running Quarm, which was the EverQuest fan server that I was playing on for like half a year. So, and and I and I talked to her regularly. She uh was not in it for the money. Let's just say that. So, it it was once I learned all that stuff, I became a lot more open to seeing what Legends is. And and you know, it's I mean, let's be blunt. It's still a remonetization of EverQuest, but I'm I'm hoping it's done in a way with people that really want to get like a fun new experience out of it and not just make a new way to make money off EverQuest nostalgia, you know? So, yeah, I'm I'm I'm very cautiously optimistic right now. I'm very cautiously optimistic about EverQuest Legends and I'm I'm kind of I'm letting the whole I'm not I'm not in the beta. A lot of people ask me that. They did not give me a key. I'm not in the beta. Um, so I've not played it yet and but I'm absolutely I want them I want it I want them to get their vision in and once it's there I'm very interested in checking it out.
Yeah, that's that's where we are with that. Yeah. Oh, guys, I got my water earlier, but thank you. Yeah, we're good.
Oh, Batman. I thought they brought in some of those people if I'm not mistaken.
No. Yeah, I I know that that EverQuest Legends was based on the hero journey, but I think some of the people that worked on the hero journey were [music] brought into EverQuest Legends, I think.
But again, I'll look into more of this.
I I want all the info. So, yep.
Okay, we need to get up to JFK. We need to avoid the sorcerer and we need to get Oh god, he's fighting. Is he actually fighting or is he just standing there getting his ass beat [screaming and groaning] [screaming] [groaning] your soul? [screaming] >> Oh, he's not following me. God damn it.
Is he fighting at least?
>> I will feast.
>> What a mess. What a mess. [groaning] [screaming] >> Look at him over here just destroying these pools.
>> Okay, that's okay. This is That actually is okay cuz what we're going to do is we're going to try to leash these guys and then we'll go back and res him.
Okay, that's the dude right there.
That's the guy. The medicine man is the guy that killed me. Okay.
Um Oh, dude. I should totally put a bed roll down like right here. [ __ ] I don't think I have the materials for it. What do I need for a bed roll?
Nice.
Great. Okay, our goal right now is to get JFK up and following us. And then we're going to pull him back up to that side.
The hell? Oh Jesus.
[groaning and screaming] Uh, okay.
Whatever you say.
[groaning] >> [ __ ] >> I will feast upon you.
[screaming] >> No, not this time. Jerkf face. Dude, look how much of his of my life that guy did. Oh my lord, bro. [laughter] JFK is dead. Dead. No, he's not.
[groaning and screaming] >> God will have your soul.
>> Your heart will be eaten.
I will drink your blood. [screaming] [groaning] >> Great.
>> Take me.
>> Yeah, this is all fine. This is all good. Good. Okay, Chad. I think we're back. I think we're back on track.
Okay, I need to get a cudgel for my man's. I need to be able to equip a cudgel on this guy. Oh my god, that'd be so good.
>> [screaming and groaning] >> I absolutely am going to have to get him away from here, man.
Far bug soup. Ew.
Okay. Um, let's go over here.
Okay. You're going to You come up. You come up here.
Uh, how am I going to do this? Maybe I should give him the cudgel. Set him to passive.
Okay, let's do that.
We're going to put him there off to the side a little bit. We got to kill one of these guys.
>> Yog. What was that?
>> [screaming] [groaning] [screaming] >> Your will have your soul.
[groaning] >> Nice.
Feel like it needs to be on this. There we go. Okay.
H. Can I sacrifice man flesh?
[screaming] Nice.
Cool. We did it, chat. We did it. We made it. Took all morning. [music] Took us an hour and 40 minutes to do what I wanted to do, but we got here. We did it.
Oh my god, look at this. Oh, >> come on. Let's hear it.
She y'all went down here. I don't want to go down here. Really?
Oh god.
Oh, maybe I do want to go down here.
Oh, Harra.
Yo.
Okay.
Uh, JFK.
Bro, where's my guy? [sighs] Wait, what?
Thraws don't come into the dungeon?
Really?
They do, [screaming and groaning] >> bro. What is going on?
>> I will drink your blood.
is Is he here?
Oh, dude. He's not like stuck under the world or something, is he?
Bro, what is happening right now? Go and he should teleport.
>> [music] >> Ah! Oh, I just spent an hour and [music] 40 minutes trying to get this to work.
Please don't mess up.
Please. [laughter] Oh my god, dude.
Are you serious?
I'm trying so hard to play this game.
I'm trying so hard to play this game.
Try relogging. Okay.
Holy [ __ ] dude.
All right, [clears throat and sighs] Chad. I'm trying. I'm trying.
I'm trying. [music] Oh. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Okay, reload worked.
Reload. Thank you, chat.
Whoa.
Okay.
Beautiful.
[screaming and groaning] Now are you following and everything?
You are following.
Everything looks good here. Okay.
Should be good.
Co, what are you doing here? I have no idea. I've never been in here before.
>> Yours will have your soul.
>> [groaning and screaming] >> I don't even know if I did this dungeon when I played the first time.
So, we'll see.
Wait, can we go down all these pits?
What are these? Can I harvest these?
Oh. Oh. Hi.
>> Ow.
JP uh JFK is down in a hole. Oh. Oh, there he is. Okay, now we're good. Never mind.
Oh, I can't attack underwater. Wait, they can attack underwater and we can't?
Rude.
That is absolute rudeness.
Can I harvest these plants? No, I can't.
A sign for prison.
That's kind of cool. Cooked shellfish.
Bone broth. That's great.
Swim down and harvest or we riot. This one. It it wasn't giving me any option to harvest.
Oh, well, we'll do that then. Thanks, chat.
Got some glowing goop.
Always a fan of glowing goop.
What is that? Is that a chest? Whoa.
It's a strength weapon. A a a human leg.
Okay.
I love it. Weird.
What are we doing in here?
No chesticles.
My boy's with me. I wonder if there's like secret walls and stuff in here.
Huh? Oh, okay.
All right. No chests or anything over here. Let's keep moving.
This is a pretty cool dungeon, man.
This is pretty chill.
Kind of creepy.
Lot of arrows.
Oh.
Hey, Azera. Thank you, dude. And I hope you're enjoying it. That That was my game of the year last year.
>> Oh, no.
Hey JFK, I' I'd love if you could like pop up here right about me.
You nearby, bud?
I'll bring him down to you.
Think he's having some problems swimming.
You good? JFK, you coming?
There we go. Perfect.
>> Yours will have your soul.
[groaning] [screaming] Man, my weapons are not doing much damage versus these guys.
And they just keep attacking.
[groaning and screaming] Are um skeletons way weak to blunt objects? You do need blood for undead chianti [groaning and screaming] leg. You're saying >> your heart will be eaten.
>> That did it. Thanks, chat.
Just needed the giant leg.
Water filled glass flask.
Purple lotus powder.
Every single one of these these enemies had something I've never seen before on it. That's really cool.
Okay, so it didn't open like the last one automatically.
Are there more things to shoot?
I don't see anything to shoot in here.
Oh, that's saying press E.
Why is there no prompt on the screen?
I wonder how many people have have like done that and just for hours. [laughter] >> I did. I would never have hit E cuz there was no prompt.
That's funny.
A bunch of arrows.
So many doors in this game have no prompt and some of them barely look like doors. That's great to know. I will I will keep that in mind big time.
This girl seems really nice. I can't wait to meet her.
Man, I don't know how far away we are, but this is this a serious little dungeon.
They're just arrows.
Swim, my little fish.
>> Okay, mommy.
>> Whatever you say, weird spirit mommy.
didn't just tell us to swim.
So many places to swim though.
That's all very shallow.
Um Oh, cool.
Is that going in?
Wait, did that work? That worked.
Oh, wait. Oh, so I I inadvertently just turned it off.
Okay. Interesting.
Got to be quicker than that. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. I didn't know. I didn't I didn't realize it was time.
Now it's back up.
Oh, wait. Oh, here it goes again.
Doing it live.
Any chests?
Come on, JFK.
No. No. Return. Return. Return.
If I just keep running, he's going to pop up. Right.
Right.
Please.
Please. cake.
>> There he is, my man. [groaning] >> Y will have your soul.
[groaning] >> I'm not doing damage.
>> That was weird.
JFK is hard carrying. Yeah, dude. He really is.
There's a reason I wanted to bring him, dude.
>> Oh man.
[groaning and screaming] >> Yours will have your soul.
Who's [groaning] [groaning and screaming] moving?
>> [groaning and screaming] [groaning and screaming] >> You know what's a little bit wild that I just realized? And maybe it's cuz we're on a private Maybe it's cuz we're on a solo server. Maybe it's cuz we're on a solo server, but the combat right now feels better than Dune ever did for me.
And again, I'm guessing that's because I'm on a on a solo server, but like, man, it's it it feels really tight. It's really tight. It's like everything kind of works. If somebody takes a swing at you and you dodge while it's coming and you like go under it, it feels like that works. Oh, Chhatson, go back. I missed a door. Okay, thank you.
Yeah, it's weird, man. It's It's very cool.
>> Oh. Oh, yeah. Look at this. Whoa. Wait, is this a door?
No, that's not a door. This is definitely a place. What in the [ __ ] Oh.
Oh, no. No. No. No. No. No. No. Chad, why did you do this to me?
>> You knew what you were doing. [groaning] [groaning and screaming] >> I will feast upon you.
>> Your heart will be heated.
I will drink your blood.
[groaning and screaming] >> I'm going to get Dude, we have 20 bleed stacks on this guy. Hell yeah.
>> Your heart will be eaten, >> dude. JFK, you make such a good tank.
I'm so proud of you.
>> Drink your blood.
>> You make such a good tank, [groaning] >> dude. I did not know that bleed stacks maxed at 20.
>> Will have your soul.
I feel like we're going to need a different weapon for when we when we max or something.
Dude, I can't believe that worked. That was amazing.
Applause, please.
Whoa.
What just happened? I just looted a dead elephant. I'm confused, but I'm here for it. Okay, that was awesome.
Oh no.
Well, you know what? I got to admit, I have to admit, it's a that's a pretty epic way to end it. So, chat, uh, we we got something to do here in a second.
So, we're we're done with this, but Oh, Chad's saying, "Cut them up. Harvest them." I will. Thank you. Let's do that before we go. Hell yeah.
Skeleton key. Beautiful. All right. So, the downside here is I think if I log out, I'm going to log in and there's going to be a bunch of very angry guys here. I I still need to do it unfortunately, but dude, what a fun day in this game. We I I I feel like we just got to the point where we're like doing things. It took us a while, but we got there. We got there. All right, chat.
We're playing 007.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Mhm.
Give me one second.
M.
Okay, first of all, there was no preload for this, so I need to download this. Is it Is it >> Pinky time?
>> Should be going live like any second now. Um I believe I hope it says coming May 27th though. Let me let me see here. Um we're going to get all this figured out.
That's weird. I thought it was going to let me download it now, but I just realized it is not. Uh, one sec.
Um, okay. So, they're they're checking it out right now. Yeah, I was supposed to play it right now, but it looks like we're waiting here for just a second to get this figured out.
Uh, let me get my title all set up.
Anyway, this is called I think it's the exact name is 007 first light.
First light.
There we go. Awesome.
Okay.
I am very, very pumped for this. I hope this is as awesome as I'm hearing. Oh, man.
All right, let me try a quick restart of Steam cuz nine times out of 10, it's that's what you need to kick a button in.
You know, one day I really hope that that Gavin makes enough money to fix that bug because that's been a bug since the beginning of Steam. And, you know, I mean, it's tough for especially for a small indie company like Steam. It's pretty tough. But hopefully hopefully one day they'll have enough resources to you know get that figured out.
We'll see.
Planned release date coming soon. Okay.
So when I restarted now it it it went from 27th to coming soon.
Okay.
Um so we're chilling. Are are other people playing this right now? Am I missing something here? Let me see.
Oh no. From the looks of it, looks of it a lot of people are waiting. Dan is playing right now. How is Dan playing?
No, somebody just said Dan is having the same thing. So I believe Dan is not playing right now. Nope. Dan is waiting, too.
Yep. Dan is also waiting.
So, I think I think we're all we're all kind of chilling here waiting for this to go live.
So, the short of it is the um the planned embargo date is right now. So, you saw a whole bunch of reviews are coming out. Things are looking really good. Um, I think the plan from the development side was that all the streamers are supposed to be playing this at 10, but unfortunately it looks like something happened. [laughter] So, um, yeah, we're we're just going to kind of chill here for a second. There's a lot of moving parts between developers and Steam, and if one of those gears stops working, the whole thing grinds to a halt. So, this is not something that I would like put on the devs. There's there's a very good chance that that something behind the scenes is probably uh probably gummed up. So, we're going to give it just a sec here.
Hopefully, it'll work itself out momentarily.
While we're waiting, why don't you double click on that Emberville logo?
Oh, this one right here. One click.
No, actually, you know what? Wait a second.
Let me see if the new intro music's in.
While we're waiting, keep in mind the main screen is still placeholder. Oh, dude.
>> [music] >> We'll we'll we'll hang out here and listen to the uh the Emberville May menu music while we're waiting.
[music] This music gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Heat.
[music] [music] Heat.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> Check out the big [music] swinger over here.
>> And that's the voice director of the game, by the way.
Oh, the install is up. Okay, thank you.
That game's looking pretty good. Uh, okay. So, let's do an exit restart real quick.
Is that Emberville music? Yes, that that is the music of Emberville. Yep, it is very nice.
Why is it not showing up at the top?
Ah, there we go. Great. We're doing it, chat. This is happening.
All right. [sighs] Going to wait for just a minute here.
Hopefully by the time this is done, we'll be good to go.
Is the OST available for Emberville anywhere? Uh, not right now, but maybe down the road. Yeah, that that is something we're already [music] considering, but right now we're hyperfocused on on getting the EA set up. So, that'll be something down the road.
Is this from the Hitman devs? It is.
Yes. Just do a quick abiotic factor run while we wait.
>> Yeah, just a whole run. Just a super quick abiotic factor. We'll call it a a tow dip.
His name is Double Co7. That's right.
Double Double Coven.
Shroud vers code download rate. Hey, Shroud Shroud is lucky my 10 Gbit Ethernet card is currently out of commission cuz I'm currently trying to jam my 5 gig ethern my 5 gig fiber asynchronous connection over a 2.5 [music] and that's just insulting. Let's be real.
This can get up to 2.3 megaby megabytes per second. [music] And and before before my 10 gig card died, I would get 2.3 [music] per second. It was beautiful and then it died. I think it was I think it was too much for it or something because the I it's the first time I've ever had an Ethernet card [music] die. It lasted like 6 months and then literally gets detected, cable says it's plugged in, nothing. And everywhere that I looked on the internet, it said you had a board short. Like there's something on the board that [music] shorted. Your PCB shorted. And I was like, damn. Okay. Is it hard to replace? Well, unfortunately, my new my new streaming uh my new gaming machine does not have uh the room for it because I have to have other cards in there for various other tom foolery that I do. So, my my new computer does not have an extra slot for the 10 gig Ethernet card, unfortunately. So, I know the the firstest of first world problems, [music] chat. Oh no, my Ethernet's 2.5 gig, not 10. Ho is me.
Quick, somebody tip me [music] some money. [laughter] Of course, I have like three 10 gig Ethernet cards on the wall in boxes [music] in my server closet. I just haven't installed them yet. So, if some if one of y'all could somehow tip me some motivation, I need that a lot more [music] than money. So, if you could just throw some motivation tips in my way, that'd be great. Um, yeah, dude. I man, 30 years of my life, I was paycheck to paycheck. I went [music] months of my life without internet because I couldn't afford it.
So, just having internet, I'm thrilled.
Am I connected to the internet? We're good. Am I able to play my games online?
We're good. I'm a happy man.
I am a happy man.
Have you seen the Outward 2 news having a beta again and going EA [music] soon too? Yes, I am extremely excited uh for Outward 2. Um I don't know when we're going to play it. I'm still trying to figure out like when and how I'm going to play it. Like I don't know if we're just going to do like a little couple stream exploration [music] or do like a Subnotica 2. Let's do everything there is in EA that we can.
Outward is a way more storyheavy RPG.
So, I'm a little I don't know if I want to do like how much of it I want to play before 1.0. I'm I'm still figuring that out. Yeah. But all of you should go buy and play Outward 2. I I N dot Studios is amazing. I love those guys. Um Outward 2 is something we should all have our eyes on. If you're if you're an old school sandbox RPG fan, you should be watching Outward 2. Yep.
Oh, yeah.
When will we get your cool Emberville shirts? Uh, we made a decision early that we didn't want to sell you an idea.
We want to sell you something that's awesome and works.
>> So, you will see Emberville merch when the EA is here. It's out. It's awesome.
We love [music] it. And then buying merch is a way to >> show your support of what's awesome and already there instead of just buying stuff for something that you don't even know is good yet. Yeah. So that's we made the we made the conscious decision early not to sell plushies and shirts and and merch for Emberville until it's here. We we'd much rather you buy it feeling really good about it. You know what I mean? Not just excited for something that could be. Yeah. [snorts] All right. Almost done. Still cruising along. Almost done. Almost done.
Getting there.
That being said, we are making some Emberville merch, but the people getting it are getting it for very special reasons. [laughter] So, we're we're we're making we're making some very limited edition special merch that, you know, may or may not be going to long-term people that have been on our Discord. uh for you know periods of time.
I mean that's not really happening but make you know it's a cool idea. [cough] [clears throat] I mean the the Discord could be a cool place to hang out. Yeah, you know that could be a thing but I mean probably not. Probably not. Yeah, probably not. Just thinking out loud.
Did [snorts] I play the Matrix online? I played the Matrix online a little bit. I played the Matrix online to kind of way back in the day and I and I really loved some things about it. Um, but I could never really get into it. Yeah. I felt like there was there was there were enough issues with Matrix Online to where I couldn't really get immersed.
But one of the things that I absolutely loved about Matrix Online is it inadvertently had the future of auto attack planned into it, but not enough people played it to realize it. And what I'm talking about is in a ton of games in including one of the ones I'm working on right now, there's there's the concept of auto attack. You press a button, your character starts autoattacking, and either the creature dies or you turn it off, right? That's a very classic system. Lots of games use it. But what Matrix Online did that was so cool is your auto attack was like a music bar. It it like your your auto attack was a segment. I'm just going to use arbitrary numbers here.
The auto attack in Matrix online was like 10 AP and you could learn different moves like kicks and punches and stuff like that and they would cost different AP. Some would chain into each other, someone would have special effects and you basically designed your auto attack chain.
>> Good job.
>> And then you could make multiple chains and you could chain into different chains based on how the fight's going.
So, it was auto attack, but it took thought beforehand, and there was just a little bit of of stuff to do while it was going on. And in a lot of ways, I feel like that was the the actual next iteration of WoW and EverQuest style auto attack. It just never picked up. It never caught on. But literally, it's been sitting there for decades, and it is like the perfect mechanic for the iteration of auto attack. So needless to say, I have multiple games I'm trying to implement that in that I'm working on.
[laughter] So it's uh I I love that concept. I love that concept. Didn't Absolver do that?
Yes. Yes. Absolver uh Absolver was more fighting game. So Absolver Absolver kind of did that, but Absolver gave you moves to then use in a much more actionoriented fighting game. Um what I'm talking about is an auto attack system. So, you literally press a button and your character starts fighting and until you press another button, they don't stop. Like, that's what I'm talking about.
Am I working on multiple games? My my primary game right now is Emberville.
I'm hyperfocused on Emberville, >> but I am advising and and working on other projects, too. But my primary [music] my primary project right now is Emberville. Yes. That's the one that takes most of my time and [music] focus currently. Yep.
But no, I'm I I have I'm [music] I'm I'm doing other things, too. Yeah, we'll just say that for now. You'll hear a lot more about this later, but right now we're Yeah. Emberville. Emberville.
Emberville is [music] what we're talking about right now.
All right, let's go.
[music] Thank you so much to our friends at IO Interactive [music] for sponsoring the next well the previous 15 minutes and the next hour and 45 minutes of the stream. We really appreciate it. This is James Bond. No, this is not James Bond.
The exact name 0007 First Light. There's not even James Bond in [music] the title. That's wild. 007 First Light. I have not played this yet and I am uh very excited to check it out.
What is this game like? I know very little about this game. I've been on mostly a blackout on it cuz I trust IO Interactive to deliver quality. So, I'm I'm kind of [music] going in relatively blind.
Uh, >> I think we're good.
>> From what I've heard, it is a it is [music] a less sandboxy, more story focused Hitman. So, somebody earlier said it was like Last of Us plus [music] Hitman, which is a very interesting concept. So, we'll see how this goes.
Earn the number. Start story. Let's take a look at the options first.
Okay.
Go ahead and put frame gen on.
This is a [music] really weird menu. I don't like this menu at all. I don't like having to click to open one of these and then click again to select it.
I don't like this. Um, turn off that. Turn off film grain.
Uh, okay. Is everything on ultra? I think everything's on ultra.
Good. Yeah. It's also really weird that you have to open all of these to check what they're on. Oh, no. No. It says current value up here. That's a little better. A little better. Okay. Uh, let's go to here.
Subtitles on.
Oh, subtitle direction indicator. That's cool. Bunch of good stuff there. Great.
All right.
Bon needs to be more strategic with his health, resources, and abilities while enemies are more resilient and harder to counter. Let's go.
I may have to I don't know if DLSS is on. I may need to turn it on.
Good start.
>> Going in low >> on station.
Mission details are in. What have I got?
Bag raised on a retrieval mission. 18 scientists and engineers. No comms. No morning checkin. Been offline. 64 minutes in counting. We need visuals and a status. That's one expensive wakeup call. Must be more to it than that.
>> Let's see. Norwegian weather satellite picked up an unusual heat signature a couple of clicks off coast few hours ago. That's all I've got.
>> What sort of retriever are we talking about?
>> That's classified.
>> Can't a little outing.
>> That helicopter might explode in a second.
Striker, we're going incoming.
>> Are you under attack?
Down incoming.
Repeat.
Okay.
Damn.
>> [music] >> Sir, you can't park your car here.
Sir, sir.
Some people, bro. What is happening? Isn't this him?
Oh [ __ ] [laughter] Dang. Waking up underwater after being unconscious must be one of the most horrifying things ever. Oh, look at this. We're doing the crawl out of flaming ocean shot.
Dude, is he the only survivor?
Wow, that was SAS, too.
Oh, here we go. Nice. transition. Okay.
Nice, man. Not yellow paint, but yellow tape. I'll take it.
Okay.
Wait, did that guy just get shot?
Did he fire a gun or did someone fire a gun at him?
Maybe it was light or thunder.
Oh [ __ ] >> Tap C to dash to cover.
>> Oh, that's interesting. Will it just go to the closest cover?
>> Who's that over there?
>> Is that another soldier?
I don't know if I can like I'm going to kill here for now. I don't know if I can like go up and attack them. I don't think I can yet.
>> Can we get subtitles for this? I'd love to hear these guys. Is there like an ambient? Uh I think narrative dialogue is enabled.
Ambient dialogue is not enabled. Let's try that. NPC reaction dialogue. Dude, this system is terrible. What is this?
Why did you put these menus here? This is so weird. Okay, there we go. All right, >> turn red. Headed towards the sweeping the rest of the beach for survivors.
>> Okay, so comb the rest. Here we go.
There we go. Perfect.
>> Hostiles communicated.
Game's trolling me, man. [laughter] I love it.
This is beautiful. Like damn.
>> See, I just tap C and ran to cover.
That's really cool. I like that.
>> Let's just make sure we're not missing anything with these. Nope. Okay, good.
Chat, this is a stealth mission.
You need to be ready.
If you're not, snake might bite you.
Bite your box.
Get in.
This is your home now.
All right, let's try this.
Quiet.
Dude, it literally says hostiles communicating when the person says I think I heard something.
I I kind of want to know that part. I think that's important.
[laughter] >> Yeah.
>> This is report back.
>> It was an ambush. Both choppers down.
Hostiles are organized and heavily armed.
>> Dude, look at the eyes.
>> This is MI6.
>> Oh, this is >> We're taking control of this mission effective immediately.
>> Are you injured?
>> Don't live.
>> Good. Because we need your help.
>> What's your name? Yeah, >> the facial animation's really good.
>> Oh, you're not SAS.
>> That crew me >> in training.
>> Oh, >> we'll have to make do. I need you to be our eyes and ears on sight. Do you see a camp, >> Mark? But there's some light coming from the other side of the mountain.
>> That's it. Get there.
>> Airmen in training is like, "Cool. Get to the other side of the island where the base is from the enemy that just shot down two helicopters [music] full of my much more better trained brethren." Okay, on it. [snorts] Not even like a push back. Okay, let's go. We >> got to find higher ground.
>> Why does he look like he's 28 years old?
This is the the I think this is like the start, dude. This is He's not even James Bond yet right now. He's he's James Bond airman in training.
Yeah, this is this is his story. This is how it all begins, which is kind of interesting. I don't know if I've seen a Bond movie that goes over this stuff. So, this is this is kind of all new to me. I'm sure there is one or two, but I haven't seen it.
Not like this.
>> Move the camera over a little bit. Sure.
>> Are you sure you're up for this?
Adrenaline can mask even significant damage.
>> Better keep those levels up then.
>> Oh, that's great. And then he has to sprint the Okay, that's fine. That good line. Good line.
Okay.
I love I love how it's This is the third time now. It says hold shift to sprint.
And then it's like okay. And it's like hit escape to no more. And then I hit escape. And the escape says hold shift to sprint.
Okay. [laughter] Thank you. I Okay.
[clears throat] Would you like to know more? I would like to know more. Oh, wait. Wait. I can look.
>> What is it?
>> Just taking in the view.
>> Co. They're doing that because they know it takes saying it to you twice for you to get it.
>> Tell me about them.
>> They're an international group speaking English but with accidents. Capable and well organized. Ex-military. Firearms are unfamiliar. I guess special issue.
>> That's good. But keep your eyes peeled.
>> Couple of you.
Tell me, why is MI6 getting involved here?
>> The retrieval camp has been compromised.
How and by whom is what I need your help figuring out.
>> Yeah, but why am I six?
>> That's classified.
>> Okay.
Well, who's running the retrieval mission then?
>> Also classified.
>> How can I help if I don't know what's going on?
>> By doing exactly what I tell you.
>> Yes, Mom.
I got to admit, know knowing this is where he came from, it makes a lot more sense how much James Bond listens to his superiors, right? Like, holy my lord.
Dude, these environment effects are gorgeous.
Oo, this is a good looking game. This is running amazingly on my system, but I wonder how good this is going to run on like mid-range systems >> cuz Yeah, this is >> Have you located the camp?
>> Not yet. I hope I'll see it when I clear the top.
>> Yeah, that's true. That's true. It's a great engine. Yeah, very true.
The Hitman series has always been pretty good about that.
>> Retrieval mission of what exactly? Alien technology.
>> Not quite.
>> What then?
>> How long were you in the water for?
>> You're dodging the question.
>> And you're hypothermic. Get to the camp and find some warm clothes. I need you operational.
I really hope we get to the camp and the first thing we find is a really nice tuxedo.
>> Well, guess I have to wear this then.
It's going to be bulletproof and fireproof to a tactical tux. That's right.
>> I like that. Tech >> fingers are the fast to go. What?
>> In the cold. First they hurt, then nothing.
>> Right.
>> First it hurts, then you feel nothing.
I had no idea that Frostbite was like marriage.
[laughter] Okay. All right. Uh, how am I dropping down?
All right.
Not going to lie, I instantly thought I missed a hotkey prompt for a second.
Oh man, I see some perimeter markers.
>> Good. You're close to the camp.
>> Fingers and toes.
Water certainly doesn't help.
>> You're in water again. Better than getting spotted.
>> Uh, >> wait. Where the hell am I going? I can't >> and perimeter.
>> Enough to level this place.
>> Yeah, >> this one's armed. They are all armed.
>> Thank you. MI6 saves us the trouble.
>> MI6 explosives.
>> They're the ones running your retrieval mission.
>> Not officially.
>> Then you set up a grid of high explosives covering the whole area.
>> It's a post mission cleanup measure.
Thermochemical sterilization. I didn't want you to get worried.
>> Chemical sterilization.
What's to worry about?
>> Thermo. And it's quite safe. What's not, however, is you still out in the cold.
Yes, I know.
>> Wait, so these are MI6 explosives that they rigged up as some kind of defense?
I'm not sure what these flashing red things are.
They are not defending obviously.
Cleanup crew. There's a >> Oh, so they come in, do something, and then blow the whole thing up. Oh, gotcha.
>> That'll do.
>> Good news, >> Parker.
Sir, >> did she hear him speak another language?
>> Yeah, I know.
>> Negron picked up a few phrases while mountain climbing there.
>> A man of hidden talents. Now, let's figure out who these hostiles are.
>> Already on it. I found a receipt in the jacket. Berlin Cafe, November 17th. Paid in cash.
>> Interesting.
>> Keep it coming.
>> Huh.
>> Whoa.
A briefcase.
It's full of ashes.
>> One of ours. Self ignites if open wrong.
>> Oh, it's just like my computers.
blast zone 500m. Oh, and there's a thing of there's a Okay, so they were marking out the quadrants of where they probably put the red blinky things. Right there.
Interesting. Okay, I don't think I want to go out here yet.
>> Not now. Just play a cool game. You can't crouch in public spaces.
>> Someone's lying here.
>> Interesting.
>> He's been shot.
>> Vital.
>> Hell yeah.
>> I found one of their guns.
>> What kind?
>> It's a TXK biome. Serial's gone.
>> Discontinued. Also, it's biometrically locked.
>> Brilliant.
Of course it is.
Oh, don't leave. Don't waste water, bro.
That's the real crime.
>> He's dead. Foster. One of yours.
>> Senior engineer.
Keep going.
>> Always check your turrets.
and your shurers and your shs.
Huh? Man, all these are labeled. Look at that. Good for them. Cool. There's a lot of data on the screen, so I wonder how many little Easter eggs they've hidden. I always like looking for that stuff.
All right. Anything else in here? I think we're good to go through the door.
Just one final little sweep.
Already got that.
Oh, can we go up?
I'm sorry. I'm a gamer. I didn't look here the first time. No, we can't. Okay.
Yo, nice mirror effect, bro. That's pretty cool.
Okay, let's go.
>> Heading into the camp now.
>> Don't draw attention to yourself.
>> Well, I was about to try to have a dance battle with someone, but I'm glad she said something. That could have been real awkward.
to be more of them.
>> Find anything?
>> Not looking too.
>> If I need something, I'll just buy it.
>> Buy this. You can buy anything if you can afford it.
>> It's free.
Oh, found another one.
>> How many you want? There's only so much we can bring on the side.
>> It's pocket thighs, too.
I'll >> Is he looking for chocolate bars?
>> As many as I can find. You should check out some of the boxes.
>> Come last chance.
>> Not interested.
>> That was some very fun flavor dialogue.
I like that.
>> Ooh, com device military grade layered encryption.
>> Hard to come by.
That man's double fisting candy bars.
>> I know it.
>> Red and white checkers >> in this context.
>> Could reference Croatia.
>> Torn grid map up here.
>> That's just a sight explosives protocol from the MI6 handbook.
>> Rocket launcher serial 394 KB 211. The launcher is part of a US shipment stolen in Alga's 9 years ago.
>> That was fast.
>> Keep digging. We're not done.
>> Yeah, it kind of sounds like she knew that.
Interesting.
That was really She didn't even like have to plug that number into anything.
>> [ __ ] >> Hey, what's it doing? I barely crushed that thing and it started moving.
>> Hey, you back this up for me. You both right here.
>> Let's do this first.
>> Damn thing. Where's Yulan when you need him?
>> Wasn't up for it this time. Those nine men lost on the German job.
And that cleanup that was messy.
Hey, you've got to see this.
>> Come on, let's check it out.
>> You've got this, right? Good men.
>> And someone just mentioned a messy German shop. 9 million lost.
>> Hang on. I know exactly who we're up against. A Balkan gang of thieves known as Arrowhead. Notorious for never leaving any witnesses. Listen, I'm going to ask you to enter the big central tent, but what you learn in there can never be mentioned to anyone.
Understood?
>> Heading there now.
>> I'm serious, Bond. You haven't signed the Official Secrets Act. I need to hear you say that you accept and acknowledge its ramifications.
>> I accept and acknowledge.
>> Oh, well, that's fun. I wonder what's going to be in here.
It sounds pretty bad.
I'm here for it. What if it's going to be aliens?
Let's see what could be this bad. I think it could be aliens. It could be cloning. It could be finding an ancient artifact they can't explain. It could be I'm not going to make a topical joke about files. It could be um a weapon of some kind maybe. Um a tuxedo. It's probably a tuxedo. It's pro. Or a metal gear. Ooh, Thor's hammer. I like that. I want to draw attention to myself.
>> That's a good one.
>> Thor's hammer.
Okay. Honestly, I think it's just going to be a high knee. I mean, let's be real.
[clears throat] All right. So, that's our main mission.
Let's poke around the outside real quick, though. I do want to I want to make sure we This This may kind of be a quasi 100 coat run here. I can already tell this game's pretty fly. I think we're going to finish it. Like, I'm I'm I'm pretty sold on it already.
>> I'm at the big town.
>> This is how the whole game's going to be. Yeah. This is This is cool.
All right. Here we go. Isl defense system. Oh, look.
24. Okay, so we have a date a little bit. Rapid deploy tent.
Okay, here we go.
>> Entering now.
>> Any bombs I should know of?
>> None you should know of.
>> No.
[laughter] So lay it on me.
>> I can't. You're still on a need to- know basis.
>> Fake.
>> Mission protocol gray envelope forbids any over mention at this encryption level. Or not discuss any specifics.
Oh, this looks artifacty. Looks like they found something in the ground.
Maybe a crash of some kind.
Oo.
>> Now, do you see the object?
>> I'm afraid that's classified.
>> Got him.
All right. No white dots around here.
[clears throat] No white dots.
Must be so unnerving.
>> Noise.
>> What?
>> Distortion oscillating door.
Now it's gone.
Yeah, it must be wildly unnerving to work in an area where you know that any second the entire thing could just vaporize you.
My lord.
Here we go.
I'm looking at the thing now, but what's left of it?
>> I need you to look for the OBC unit inside OBC.
>> No, this is a plane crash.
>> And that is >> right. Uh on board computer the size of a shoe box probably in some >> No, it's a shuttle crash.
>> That it's an it's a something that fell from orbit.
>> That's radiation shielding.
Oh, >> it's gone.
>> Damn. Have a look around the tent for me.
>> On it.
Oh, that's weird. That's a weird effect.
Oh god. It's like college all over again. Oh god.
Okay.
This is funny enough, this is the exact lens I saw most of my classes through.
>> What is it?
>> I don't feel well.
>> Just keep looking.
>> Accurate.
Dang, dude. This is actually a little unnerving. The heartbeat is not helping.
>> Are you sure it's completely sealed?
It's sealed.
>> Come on.
>> Someone's coming. They're wearing hazmat suits. Should I worry?
>> Give me a sec. We got what we came for.
Let's get the hell out of here. We get on the zap and in 3 weeks strike code in Brazil.
>> Works for me. The others are preparing the final cleanup now.
>> Never been to Brazil.
>> First time. What's it like?
>> Did you mention sound distortion before?
>> Yeah.
>> I need you to do exactly as I say. Do you see the red door?
>> Head for it right now.
>> What?
>> You need an antidote. You've been exposed to a nerve agent.
Oh [ __ ] That's what this is.
>> What's this?
>> Decontamination.
>> What exactly am I looking for?
>> A green box with a bright orange stripe.
Probably tucked away somewhere.
The hell is all this stuff?
Come on.
>> Which one?
>> What?
>> There's two of them.
>> The orange one. Do not use the other one.
Here goes nothing.
>> [music] >> Um God >> Bond, you okay?
>> That might be pushing it.
>> What next?
>> Have a little rest and then get to somewhere safe. You've done >> a little rest. We'll have an extraction team pick you up in about an hour.
>> They still have that thing you're after, and they're about to leave.
>> Yes. And we'll let them. Thanks to you, we've been able to deduce exactly who the buyer is, where they'll be meeting, and at what time. We'll intercept in a controlled environment with no risk to the asset. You just get out of the camp tight.
One of your crew is still alive.
Hostiles have him. I don't fancy his chances.
>> I'll follow. See what I can do.
>> You're in no state. They'll spot you and kill you. Remember who you're up against.
>> Wrap it up.
>> Now you've got to worry about me.
Okay, >> I'm taking this one to the others. G9 or V4?
>> Doesn't matter. They're all inside the blast.
>> What's the point then? They're all going to die anyway.
They just shot him.
>> No witnesses.
>> [ __ ] dude.
>> Need a better view.
>> I think some of the others are still alive, but the hostiles plan to blow up the place.
>> You need to get out of the blast zone.
Oh, >> I need to save those people.
>> That is not your call. Stand down.
That's an order. Listen carefully. You have less than 1% chance of success. Now, stand down.
>> I'll take those odds.
>> Love it, dude.
>> The very first opportunity to buck the the chain of command and he does it.
>> I [music] love that.
>> Very first time he's like, "Yep, no, we're just doing it."
H.
Now, what is that?
>> How much longer? You got some.
>> How about we turn it up a bit more?
Okay, no time to hesitate. Those people need my help. Don't leave me to roast through chestnuts. I have to be somewhere else.
>> Should have had that curry. Is that what he said? Container G9. That's where I'll find the captives.
Okay, before we go in, let's see what this is.
>> I wish we had some of this gear and kept here.
>> Stop. What are you doing? I'm not doing anything. Just stop it now. I don't know how to drive this thing.
[ __ ] Help me get our stuff out of the way.
>> Good girl.
>> This girl keeping busy.
>> How's it been so far? Awesome.
>> It's been really good so far. Yeah, I'm actually super digging this. I'm excited to see what the combat stuff's going to be like.
>> But we're not even there yet.
>> The intro has been really well done.
I've been digging.
>> Like daddy with his few more bedtime stories.
>> That's cold.
We could write them back and tell them daddy beg like a dog.
>> Now that's looking.
>> Oh, now this is interesting. Am I supposed to go ahead and like take this guy out? Cuz I will.
Oh yeah, look at this. Picking up.
>> I'm backing out now, James.
>> Cool.
>> Need to find those captives.
>> Okay, that felt pretty good. Left click to attack.
Nice and easy. Oh, I could have come in from this side, it looks like, and turned that on to distract them and then gone around. Oh, well, I'll punch him in the face, too. That works.
>> Didn't want his gun. They're biometrically locked. I can't do anything with them.
>> Yo, like the sparks.
Nice touch, dude.
Uh, what we got in here?
I broke it. I did.
satellite part collectible. Interesting.
Go ahead and open that. So, we can leave if we need to. So, we can dance if we want to. Hopefully, we can leave them all behind cuz honestly, if they don't dance, then >> hi.
[cough] >> Oh, thank God.
>> Come on. Untie us.
I always got to check for this.
>> What are you waiting for?
>> Awesome. Look at him. Look at him.
>> One more.
>> Please free us.
>> Nice.
>> Hey, listen. We done a bunch of time and we need to get you out of here.
>> What's the point?
>> Does this have D X vibes?
>> Just sit tight and wait for the others to deal with the hostile.
>> It's not an immersive sim. So, although there has been some sneaking stuff, I I think this is more of like an action.
This is more of like a Hitman game, which I also wouldn't really call an immersive sim. So, it's it's it's more of like a it's like a more storybased Hitman so far.
>> Yeah, I'm all you've got.
>> Just one.
>> But it's not it's not >> we're so screwed.
>> Immersive Sim.
>> Get a grip of >> What about the others? We can't leave without them.
>> Others >> in B4 other side of the camp.
>> Oh, shoot.
>> They split us into two groups. They were really rough. I hope they're okay. Okay, you need to stay put while I free them.
Then run east on my signal.
>> What kind of signal?
>> You'll know when you see it.
>> Godspeed.
>> Listen for the explosion, I'm guessing.
[laughter] The voice acting seems good. The voice acting seems great so far. The presentation overall seems really, really good. Graphics are nice. The sound effects have been nice. The music has been good. The voice acting's been good. Like the presentation seems to be very taut, Chad. Very taut.
>> Be able to use that creass to avoid being spotted >> or Okay, fine. There's three of them. I kind of wanted to go punch him all in the face. You know what? No, I'm going to see what happens. I'm going to see if we can do this.
>> This is a test, chat.
>> I'm testing two things right now.
First, that was awesome.
But second of all, I'm wonder Whoa. I'm wondering if they're going to put collectibles and items in areas like this where like we have to engage enemies to get them. I don't see any.
So, that's good.
I don't see anything here. Let's keep moving.
We're supposed to go over there, but I kind of want to explore the whole camp as much as we can.
Not going in there. All right. This side seems clear.
Let's go back.
Good thing you aren't a time limit for this. Yeah, they they're they're acting like there's a time limit, but they haven't told me anything directly about needing to be quick. So, I I'm cautiously optimistic we can take our time here for now. Maybe that'll change, but I wonder if we can take the guy out in the back.
I'm going to try this.
Oh, he sees me. He sees me.
>> Okay. I don't know why I swung it.
didn't swing at the Oh, wow. Two hits.
Okay, good to know. Dang. How's the autosave system? Let's see. So, two hits and you're done.
>> God speed.
>> Okay, let me start it here. Cool.
Um Oh, one second.
I don't think we really did anything before we got hit. So, I'm just going to keep going for now.
>> What difficulty are you on? Oh, we're on the hardest difficulty.
>> Just what I did.
I wonder how far away we can see those white dots. We need to do some testing.
Like if I'm looking at this and I don't see white dots, are do we know there's no collectibles there?
Uh, next time we find a white dot thing, we need to back up and see how long it takes for fast to avoid being spotted.
>> Okay.
>> Container B4.
>> I'm on the shattered planes right now.
>> In that, >> I love it.
Is Bon Scottish? Uh, no. He's British, >> I believe.
>> Yes.
What was the point?
>> Nothing.
We found it ourselves.
You could have saved them if you had spoken up.
>> Why so quiet?
>> You don't want to shout.
>> Or cry.
>> Your friends died protecting nothing.
What a waste.
>> Oh, thank God you're finally here.
>> Hi. Okay. White dot.
>> Why don't you untie us?
>> Oh, is it?
>> What are you waiting for? Cut the tie.
>> I'm testing.
>> Okay, >> come on. Untie us.
>> I will in a second. So, it does look like we can see the white dot anywhere in the room, which is good.
>> Why don't you untie us?
>> Okay, there you go. Okay. Okay.
>> I've already freed your friends. We don't have much time. The hostiles are planning to blow up the camp.
>> Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
>> They can't. That idiot was in charge of the detonator.
>> Still, these guys mean business. We need to go.
>> What's my signal? Then run east.
>> What's the signal?
>> That idiot.
>> Any ideas?
>> If you toggle the central mast, we'll all hear it. It's barely standing in this storm.
>> Snap one of the wires and I bet that'll be enough.
>> Here, the detonator. You better take it.
When it goes, you run east >> towards the sunrise. Got it.
>> No way. Dag. Glass 4 stays.
Julian insert here. And then he points down.
NVN919.
Look up. This is the ceiling. [laughter] What? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
What? Look up. This is the ceiling.
Pointed to the right. Okay. Okay. Just another American who saw too many movies as a child. Yes.
>> Oh, >> Abdul. I win. King of the world.
>> The big old VIP.
>> Remember to smile in the in the public spaces.
Okay, that's awesome.
Okay, I think we're all set.
Let's go. Oh, up there.
>> Release the wire. Top of the master.
>> Easy.
>> Okay, remember to smile in public spaces, please. Thank you.
All right, time to bring the house down, >> bro. You don't want to be anywhere near a cable that thick when it snaps.
Wherever that thing whips around to, it's dead or gone. Oh my god.
Speak the camera. Okay.
Yeah, really any cable. That's right.
Even thin cables that snap if it's if it's under enough tension, dude. It's It's a terrible thing.
No. Yes.
>> [music] >> Oh no. And no.
[groaning] Damn.
Is that his first kill? That might be the first man he's killed.
Yeah, dude. As an airman in training, that may have been the first man he ever killed.
>> Yeah.
>> What are you doing?
>> I think this man's having some shell shot.
>> Wow. Jesus.
>> They're using an APC to shoot us.
Go, >> bro.
>> Watch out.
>> [ __ ] Oh, I thought I was going to ride it.
I mean, that's not going to protect you against that ammo, but come on.
>> Oh god, bro.
>> Everybody.
>> Okay, [laughter] this way.
>> Okay, sure.
Why not?
Help him. Help him.
>> There we go. [music] Come on.
[music] >> Oh, this is when the SAS has to come up the back with the helicopters to save him.
>> Stop. I've got the gas danger.
>> Hold your fire.
>> What is this now?
>> You want to blow us up?
>> Yeah, thinking about it.
>> And destroy the assets.
MI6 would never >> I'm not MI6.
[laughter] Oh.
Oh, he did it. [laughter] I I thought I thought he was going to keep faking it. Okay. Okay, that works.
That was great, man. A floor.
>> What a good f Dude, that was a very solid first mission.
That That felt good.
>> That felt good.
I was wondering if they were going to have sexy silhouetted dancers in this.
I'm pleasantly surprised. Nice.
Very bond. Agreed.
Oo, cool.
I'm not going to lie, this could like with a little bit more polish, this could be like the intro to one of the actual movies.
This is pretty cool.
Yeah, we need a little bit more polish, but it's it's it's an awesome bike. I wasn't expecting this for this.
Do I have a camera in this game?
>> No. No. I Not only is this an official licensed game, uh, which that would be a problem, but uh, unfort I don't know anyone at IO Interactive, unfortunately.
I'd love to one day, but no, I don't think this is the kind of game we're going to see came in.
This is a Bond B.
I'm going to say that and Jesse Cox is going to be like one of my agent handlers, I bet. [laughter] Oh. Oh, well, no, no, no, no. Um, to be clear, they they uh IO Interactive is actually pretty awesome about using like real people in their Hitman contracts. I I find that a little bit different. You got to remember Hitman is IO Interactives. That's their IP. This is the James Bond franchise. So, I feel like this is going to be a little bit different.
>> James, >> he's with me.
>> You sound familiar.
>> Today's not about me. It's about you and the incident last month. Dude, the this has to be mo cap. This looks amazing.
>> Your visitors pass, Mr. Bond.
>> Thanks.
>> Dang. Okay. He looks kind of like Henry of Scots.
>> Where are you going?
>> He looks like Henry of Scarlet's older, cooler brother.
like like Henry of Scollets would go to like the sleepovers with his nerd friends and play D and D and this was like his [music] his star football player quarterback bigger brother. But I will admit he does kind of look like him, doesn't he? He does a little bit. I see it. I see it.
James has come to see us. Look at that.
Okay.
This way. Okay.
>> Where were we?
Got to say, you're healing fast.
>> Then it was you.
>> Anyhow, we're going upstairs all the way to the big brass. It's quite the stir you made.
>> Go big or go home.
>> Yeah. Or go big and disappear.
>> Oh, that's an interesting world map. I like that.
>> I wouldn't have. That's confidential.
>> After you.
>> Is that one of those maps where the land mass ratio is actually accurate?
Huh, >> that's cool.
>> Let's go upstairs.
>> The first time I learned about that, it blew my mind, dude. It blew my mind.
If you if you have never looked at the actual land mass of the continents on the on the on the planet, you should check it out sometime cuz glo it is not a globe. [laughter] >> I have no idea what you're talking about.
>> Or it doesn't look like on a globe, I should say. All right, if that's how you want it.
>> Pleased to meet you. I'm James and you are >> infuriatingly secretive.
>> Is co saying the world is flat? Well, obviously if you open an atlas, you can see the whole world on two pages. So, I mean, obviously, it's basic science, guys. Come on.
>> Money penny, can I grab you for a second?
>> I'll be right down.
>> That was cool.
natural interaction there.
>> So, your name is Money Penny. Does that come with a first name, too?
>> Now, let's not get carried away, James.
Well, >> at least tell me who I'm meeting.
>> You're here to see M.
>> M, right?
You're really enjoying this, aren't you?
>> Then you're not.
>> Not particularly. Oh, >> Miss Ponson B. James Bond [music] here to see M.
>> Thank you, Money Penny. Take a seat. M will be ready shortly.
You know, [clears throat] I didn't get much info about today's meeting. M is that a code name?
>> Would be odd for a surname, wouldn't it?
>> Well, let me guess then. Master Monster.
>> You're very talkative, aren't you?
[laughter] >> He's so British. This M character is he in prosecution somehow?
>> She [snorts] and no >> disciplinary board.
>> She handles some of that too. Yes.
>> Right.
>> I do enjoy a quiet office. Perhaps we can limit the small talk. I'm sure M will be with you shortly.
>> Yes, of course.
Send him in >> right away. M will see you now.
>> Take a seat.
So, Iceland air crewman in training accidentally stumbling upon an MI6 operation of the utmost importance.
initially willing to assist, but then you hang up on us, go against direct orders, and ultimately blow up the invaluable asset we were there to retrieve.
I wasn't aware I was under MI6 command, and I just chose not to take your advice, Mom.
>> Right. Yes.
Uh, headstrong, kicked out of several conflicts, thrillseeking, several disciplinary. Ah, here.
Issues with authority.
>> There it is.
>> I believe it's more a case of authority having issues with me.
>> Look, I know where this is going. You can spare me the velvet gloves. Do you mind telling me why I'm here?
I would like you to join his majesty's secret service.
I want to make you a spy.
>> You what?
>> I want you to join my training program.
Though I have to warn you, it's unlikely you'll pass the tests. Should you make it, I have to inform you that agents [music] have very short life expectancy.
Normal social life is near impossible.
And if you do get caught, we will deny ever having heard of you, >> dude. It's just like being a streamer.
>> How does that sound?
>> Look at that.
>> What was the [clears throat] downside?
>> Wow.
>> Money is terrible.
>> When do I stop?
>> Now. [music] Money pennies waiting for you outside.
>> Except you killed few fewer people.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
>> Yeah. Put him through.
>> Yeah.
>> You're dismissed.
Yeah, >> you were people. [clears throat] >> Want some B? I now know what M stands for.
>> No, you don't.
>> No, I don't.
>> I like it.
I better find money. Penny >> tea and crumpets. I don't know if they actually eat that in Britain.
>> You're joining?
>> I am.
>> Okay.
>> Makes the walk down a lot less awkward.
>> So many people in chat are like, "Actually, Co, they do.
just got assigned. I'll be the girl in the chair. Quite >> excited about it. I've been reading up on the double O's and I [laughter] think the program deserves a reboot.
>> So, it's a new thing then.
>> Well, the other recruits [music] have been at it for 6 months. So, you have some catching up to do.
>> Ooh, floor reflections look [music] pretty good.
Better get you up to speed. As I said, basic training and initial elimination rounds already concluded. Only six recruits qualified for advanced training, and so far all of them have excelled. Final exams are in 6 months, and you'll have to ace all of them to qualified [music] for field duty. That's assuming that Greenway lets you stay on for that long.
>> Greenway, >> training instructor. missions above people and orders above principal sort of guy.
>> Judging from your profile, I'm sure you'll get along splendidly.
>> Anyway, I'm [music] sending you to the MI6 training facility in Malta where you'll be joining the other recruits.
>> Your flight's waiting for you, so you better get a move on. Break a leg, James.
John Greenway.
>> Yes.
And you're late.
How's it been so far? It's been very cool so far. I feel like we're still kind of in the intro section, but it's been very cool so far.
This gives me Indiana Jones vibes. Oh, like the recent games. I mean, the immersive elements are kind of similar, but very different game so far.
>> That's the training facility.
>> Scenic.
>> You're not here for sightseeing.
In fact, shouldn't be here at all.
Sooner you realize that, the better for both of us.
>> No sightseeing.
Got it.
about me being here. You'll have to take that up with them.
>> Already tried. She insists we give you a chance.
>> And I'll take it.
>> Yes. Until you get bored or the work's too hard. I read your file. To do this, you need skill, discipline, and above all, dedication.
Pure dumb luck will only get you so far.
>> Glad we got that covered, sir.
I like what you've done with the place.
Adaptive reuse without compromising the historical heritage. Bit of a splurge on the defense budgets.
>> We live up to or surpass all requirements for an intelligence service.
>> Guess that's [music] why I'm here.
>> SAS is here, too. You really have a [music] knack for stating the obvious.
>> I'm surprised.
>> I didn't know they trained in Mortar.
>> I expect the list of things you don't know is quite extensive.
>> Damn.
>> Come on.
>> I think he likes us, chat.
>> We're going to be good friends.
Okay. I'm assuming we don't need to like Yeah, we're going to we're going to stick with the story here for a bit.
>> Everyone, >> meet our new star air crewman, Bond. So capable he could skip basic training.
He'll now demonstrate his superior close combat skills.
>> Monroe, will you do the honors?
>> Uh-oh. Love to, sir.
>> Okay. Show me what you got. Wonder why he's [music] allowed to join now.
>> Nice one, Mon.
>> Ow.
[groaning] Yeah. All I can do is click right now.
So, we're just going to do that.
>> Jeez.
[groaning] [screaming] >> Okay. I think I think we're supposed to get our ass beat this fight.
>> Mr. >> Okay.
>> Can I don't Do I have more commands? Can I block and stuff?
>> I don't think I can.
>> Not yet.
>> So perhaps some basic training might still be needed.
>> Hey, you >> Cresa Monroe is top of the class. I task you with bringing him up to speed.
>> But sir, >> he gets two weeks to pass basics.
>> We still have to study for social engineering.
>> Well, consider it a challenge, Cresa.
You like those.
>> You know what? I'll up this one notch.
If he fails, I take two credits from both of you.
>> Can't be serious.
>> Damn.
>> You know, >> I do love a challenge.
>> Respectfully, sir, >> I think we'd be wasting our time.
>> Ooh. Ooh.
Making friends.
Okay.
[clears throat] Sorry.
>> Are you Go.
>> I love that constant little like >> so yesterday >> Bondi music in the background.
>> Listen, I don't know who the hell is playing favors for you. Obviously someone up high, but you won't get any from me. Better candidates were cut. And as far as I'm concerned, you should only be here if you've earned it.
>> Well, you and Greenway both, >> boys.
>> Cressed is our top driver. She'll take you through the drill.
>> Learn from the best, as they say. And you better learn fast. Care to explain the car?
>> 06 CBS classic.
>> Seen some real life action, too, back in our days. Still a gorgeous drive.
>> Bet.
>> Go on then, >> Chad. I'm sure this will be fine.
>> Do a lap around the island. Get a feel for her.
>> All right, one sec. I'm going to grab a sweatshirt, >> please. No speed limits here. I'll come along, show you the course, and give you a few pointers.
>> I don't have any sweatshirts down here, so I'm going to freeze. All right. Oh, you want to get in the car with me? Oh, girl. I don't know about this. I don't know about this.
Oh lord.
>> Go, go, go.
>> If you want real Monroe wrong, you need to up the game. Slow down.
>> That's better. Now step on it.
>> Whoa.
>> Dude, this thing like sticks to the road.
>> I'll use the handbrake for sharp turns.
>> Oh, dancing through.
Okay.
>> Oh, that's a nice curve.
>> Solid for a first run.
>> Not too shabby. Next time.
>> Okay.
>> Let's you go fast, please.
>> Get as fast as you can.
>> Oh god. What?
>> Two weeks top. on.
>> Get away.
Hit three targets. You belong here.
This is a cool training. Dude, this is a training montage, but they're making us do all the stuff. I haven't done this before. This is cool.
>> [groaning and screaming] >> Don't let him push you. You need to step up B.
Not even try.
>> Right. That wasn't bad.
>> Christ was a parry.
>> Perfect. You need to step off.
>> I didn't realize there were going to be a parry mechanic. Okay, >> give me 100.
One, two.
Okay, I was going to say, wait, what?
>> Course requirement is 30 [music] seconds or less. Get to the flag. You know the drill.
>> For the love of God. Isn't that enough misery for one night?
>> Well done.
I hope we fight the dude that kicked our ass at the end and we just [music] destroy him. That'd be so good.
>> Charging. Come on.
>> Oh, there's a charge.
That's kind of cool.
Stop that.
Hit three targets. Just look.
>> Something like that.
To >> be my best, you need to be confident, bold, and take classes.
>> A great set of wheels.
>> Nice traction. Do you even have a license?
>> Just a little tap.
I can brief whip it.
Not bad. Try to stay on the train.
>> Basically a forest star chat. Oh, >> 98.
>> One day I might actually play that game.
[laughter] >> 99.
>> So rude.
Ow. To do that shots out of ammo.
>> Wait. Whoa. What?
>> Hold on. You two get in the ring.
>> Okay, let's do this.
>> Really, Monroe?
>> Uh, okay.
Oh, [laughter] [groaning] [groaning] >> no. No, no, no, no.
>> I'm trying to do the Oh, there was the charge, but it was okay.
I tried to charge, but he blocked me.
>> Give it everything you've got.
>> Everything he's got isn't close to it enough.
Oh, >> I'm surrounded.
>> What? Oh, what?
>> Deal with it.
>> Oh, out of the bloody way. Well, >> aiming shoot enemy hands to disarm.
I don't know about this G thing.
>> Yeah, I don't know about that.
Okay, G is way off the the path here. So, G for gun. Yeah, code. Not a G confirmed. Confirmed. Orcane with 132.
Thank you. And Friso with a 14. Really appreciate it, guys. Thank you.
>> Know what to do. I didn't want to be rude.
>> Okay, air crew, you're up. If you're serious about earning your place, let's go.
>> Monroe, any dating horror stories you care to share? You look like a man who's had a few.
>> You think this is a joke?
>> Take it easy, mate.
>> Well, I thought you knew. I don't have to earn this. I can just get by on blind luck, right? Who needs luck when you've got the old boy network on your side?
>> What [screaming and groaning] do you say, mate? Call it a day.
>> Okay, no more kickoff.
>> Wait, what was that bluff and lure thing I see at the bottom?
>> It is.
I think there was a [music] system there that I didn't really understand.
Uh, bro, >> y'all are going to get in a [ __ ] ton of trouble for this.
No, the food.
The food looks good. I'm so hungry.
>> If you had half a clue, you might actually be [music] dangerous.
>> Okay, so punches.
>> Hold on. Can I only [music] dodge this guy?
>> How did you even get here?
Mommy and daddy pull some strings.
[groaning] >> You just dropped into a live fire range.
Oh god.
my parry. I can't parry his big attacks and his kicks either. Oh, there we go.
That one worked fine.
Yeah, some of the parries were just blocking instead.
I don't know if Q is just block and then tap the parry. Hold on. If I just hold Q, do I block? Let's see.
>> No, no, I don't.
Maybe a block is a mistimed parry.
[groaning] Don't do it. Oh, don't let go. You made should have made a tap, dude.
>> [clears throat] >> Oh, I guess this is fine, too.
[laughter] [laughter] >> Just can't help yourself, can you?
I, for one, won't be sorry when you're gone.
>> Sir, this is on me. I decided to take the sparring outside of the ring.
Things might have gotten slightly out of hand.
>> Don't take the blame for him. Monroe.
>> Honestly, sir, he's cleared his close combat requirements. I just really wanted to test him. See what he's got.
>> If that was out of line, I apologize.
I expected better from you.
And Monroe, if you want this mess, clean it up alone.
Damn, >> you passed basic training.
Congratulations.
>> Hooray.
>> However, there is also the matter of your performance review.
Bond is immature and reckless, guided by his gut feelings and mistaken ideas of loyalty. He's a bad influence on the other recruits who inexplicably fall victim to his charm.
>> Greenway recommends that I cut you from the program.
>> Not exactly a surprise.
It's been a pleasure, Mom.
>> I want to show you something.
neat trick.
>> Yes, I'd rather enjoy it myself.
>> What's down there?
>> You'll see. But first, let me give you some context. I've been heading MI6 for 14 months now. Tell me, how many terror attacks have [music] we had on British soil in that period?
>> As far as I know, none.
>> Dead agents, blown covers.
>> I wouldn't know, Mom. Also none. How about the number of prevented or secretly resolved conflicts?
Countless.
>> This is Yeah, somebody just said this in chat. I'm going to I'm going to repeat it. Repeat it.
>> I don't know if they recorded at the same time, but this game is doing such a phenomenal job of having dialogue sound real. Like they're interrupting themselves. There's no weird pauses. It sounds like two people actually talking.
Like I'm I've been looking for for things that don't add up and I'm not finding them. It's a very natural. It's I again I don't know if they record at the same time but great audio work.
>> Check your clearance, sir.
>> He's with me. There's no need.
>> Mom, >> never before have we had a success rate like now. Never before the precision, safety, intel quality, and conflict resolution to such high standards unprecedented and unrivaled by anyone else in the intelligence community.
>> An iris behind a vault door. Okay. Okay, let's go. Stargate. Love it.
Why not two? Why have one when you can have three? Oh, look at this. Four. Can we do four?
Okay, now >> this is the reason for our success.
Meet Thea, the world's first [music] and only second generation quantum computer.
>> I thought those things were theoretically the best.
>> That's what we want you to think. Thea synthesizes millions of data streams instantaneously to make statistical deductions on matters of national security. The systems all but wiped the floor with GCHQ.
Since its activation, we've saved more lives, thwarted more attacks, lost fewer people. That was Thea in Iceland, in case you were wondering.
>> Oh.
>> Guiding you every step of the way.
>> And yet, it was wrong.
>> Thea gave you a less than 1% chance of success. You simply beat the odds.
>> I didn't realize those were actual odds.
>> Still, you proved an important >> Oh, no. Look at that. You see, I strongly believe that there is still a need for such human flourishes as heart and intuition in modern spycraft. In fact, >> looks like we found one of the big themes we're going to be playing with this game.
>> Oh, I heard you were cleared for advanced training.
>> I am.
>> You did an impossible thing. I would like you to do it again.
>> Oh, and if I can't, then you'll die.
>> Then I don't have much use for you, do I?
>> Cool.
Then you'll be dead and it's fine. Get the hell out of my Faraday cage. Come on, I'll take you to QAB.
>> So, what's in Q Lab?
>> Apart from Q, I wouldn't really know where to begin. You'll see.
>> We get gadgets.
>> Really should work on that infuriating secretive side of yours.
>> Oh, you don't think that I'm hitting all of the marks? But how about this? I'm sure there'll be a surprise or two for you in there.
>> I bet so.
>> Bit over the top, perhaps. You just wait and see.
>> By the way, we have 20 minutes left of our sponsor stream. Thank you to IO Interactive for sponsoring our first 2-hour look at 007 First Light. We appreciate it. If you want more information, you can find it at code.tv/ouble first [music] light. And we thank you for it. Oh my god, look at this.
>> I'm sure Q is waiting for you. Oh, and Dr. Tan asked to see you as well.
>> Okay.
>> Look for a sign that says taxim.
>> Wow.
Not now, please. I'm in the flow.
>> I'm in the flow, chat.
>> Should I position the flamethrower next to the exhaust pipe or beneath it?
>> According to the specs, it goes below the exhaust at an upward 22° angle.
>> Got it. Can't believe we're being paid for this. May I?
>> Hey Ariel, what's up today bud?
>> What are you working on?
>> Oh, it's this robotic arm. It keeps Say you're bonded, aren't you?
>> The chat from the Iceland incident.
Why? When I heard they were bringing you into the fold, I was just delighted what you did. And without proper training, truly remarkable.
>> I got lucky.
>> Nonsense. My friend Paxton was on the extraction team. He'd be dead if it wasn't for you.
Hold your head high, Bond. I mean that.
>> Thanks.
>> That's really interesting that the first decision in this game >> I could just slip past >> that the AI made was to let the humans die and Bond was like, "Nay, friend. I will save them." Like [laughter] it's like wonder where we're going with this.
>> Taser [laughter] drones, huh?
>> Yep. The latest in automated building security. A lot to dodge than a CCTV camera.
>> Plus, CCTV cameras don't usually zap you.
>> True.
>> This one is a special commission from the foreign secretary's office.
Apparently, they've had several break-in attempts.
>> Very pro tech that secretary Brian need to be somewhere.
>> Oh, we Whoops. We've seen a lot of of of movies and this is another game where like you know like uh what is that? Edge of No, not Edge of Tomorrow. was the time one, but the Mission Impossible one that has like the or the Tom Cruz one that has like the Minority Report. Um, we have a lot of like AIs helping.
>> Say anything. I'll lose my train of thought.
>> But I always think whenever I see this, like the second I saw Thea, I was like, what happens if the bad guys get Thea and are just like, give us the highest probable heists to commit? What are the best heists we can do that'll get us the most money at the least risk? you [laughter] know, like all like so you have the one AI that's fighting the crime and the other AI that's perpetuating the crime and they're just like going at it forever. Um, [laughter] so we're going to find out the ultimate villain in this is like a splinter of Thea, I bet.
>> Is it with us?
>> I don't know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to spoil it there.
I see the mustard gas bombs are working.
Great. Hopefully they'll all survive.
Okay. Oh, look a lamp.
>> This is more than a lamp.
>> Still a few things to out. The smoke released too early.
>> Watering.
>> Probably the proximity sensors need.
>> I am so sorry.
>> Run diagnostics.
>> Yes, ma'am.
>> James Bond, I've been monitoring you [music] quite closely.
>> The last time someone told me that, I had to leave the country in some haste.
>> Oh, which country? Which time?
>> Dr. Selena Tan. Oh, >> I'm in charge of tactical simulations.
My department specializes in performance management and skill development. I'd be working with Thea on a prototype based on the Iceland incident. Once the system is operational, I'd very much like you to have a go.
>> I'm not sure. Ever been one for nostalgia?
>> You're intrigued. Admit it. Come and see me after training. I promise you won't be disappointed.
>> Cool.
Oh, look. A pen. I'm sure it's just a pen.
>> James Bond, stand still.
>> I'm looking for someone called Q.
>> And you found him.
Right. Step through here, please.
Now, look into the east.
Hold still. Eyes open.
>> What was that?
>> It's your lenses. They need a little time to calibrate, so you won't see anything just yet.
>> Ah, interesting.
Right, follow me. I have something for you.
>> Okay.
Isn't James Bond usually older? This is the him kind. It's not really his origin story, but this is him at the beginning of his life.
>> Pick one.
>> Oh, >> I already have a watch. Oh, you do?
>> May I see it?
>> Now you get a new one.
Okay, >> now choose one.
>> What's the difference?
>> This one's maroon. That's navy, burgundy, winter gray.
Stylish pick. I do believe there's hope for you yet. You're the first recruit to receive one. Give it a moment to calibrate. Switch on the Q lens.
>> Oh, bottom left.
>> Gary, watch out.
>> Now, use the watch to turn off the two lamps on the table in front of you.
>> Well done. A little practice and it will become second nature. It has a variable in a 360 reach angle. To be honest, we haven't tested it to its limit yet.
>> Why don't you give it a try?
>> About right.
>> I like it. Don't change a thing.
>> Oops. It must still be set to my profile. Well done, though. Let me reset your watch to field mode. If it runs out of power mid mission, you can recharge it from whatever electrical devices are available, such as the battery on the bench.
>> Hack the planet.
>> Montgomery, we need a cleanup over here right away.
>> Q.
>> What's on your mind?
>> Money Penny, what's her story?
>> Grew up in Hammersmith, studied computer science at Imperial College London. She turned down an illustrious career in the private tech industry to instead join SO15 as an intelligence officer. She was tapped for MI6 after she exposed a domestic terrorist cell. Incidentally, I believe she's the one who recommended you for the program.
>> Yeah, I thought we were friends.
>> Oh, Emperrich. I've been keeping up with a lot of that stuff. Yeah, man.
>> M just showed me the lady of the house.
One of yours.
>> Oh, no. No. Computers are not my field, quantum or otherwise. FYO was developed by Web Industries, >> the AI company.
>> Only recently. They're one of the UK's oldest defense contractors. Their partnership with the government goes back more than a century.
>> You don't sound overly enthusiastic.
>> I make field gadgets, not office supplies, >> right? Who needs an explosive pen when all the agents are snug behind a desk?
>> Indeed.
>> H >> What can you tell me about M? It's going to be the same diplomat with postings in Jordan, Iran, Iraq, and Indonesia. No one's top pick, but an easy compromise.
>> Uncontroversial, nonpartisan, dependable. Someone who wouldn't rock the boat. I dare say a few MPs choked on their biscuits when she relaunched the long shutter double O program on her first day of office.
>> Why'd she do it?
>> M puts a lot of faith in people. AI is all well and good, but in her experience, information is knowledge, and knowledge isn't insight. torture the data and it will confess to anything.
>> Precisely.
>> The asset in Iceland, I think it's about time someone levels with me.
>> The asset, as you put it, was a foreign spy satellite, one node in a sophisticated cloud-based data network.
Obtaining it would have provided us a unique backdoor deep into a rival's intelligence apparatus.
>> Right. I'm sure it crashed entirely by accident.
>> No, it truly did. Guidance chip malfunction. Its owners believe it burned up during re-entry, but there pieced together the facts from a number of disperate data points. A Siberian social media post, a Norwegian weather satellite. Quite remarkable, really.
>> How did Arrowhead find out?
>> We found spyw wear on a member of the extraction team's phone. These modern criminals target hundreds of state employees. Shotgun approach. Yep.
>> Then they sit back and they wait for a boon.
>> The easiest way to access any network is through a human that has access. not keep money penny waiting. Good to meet >> I've heard that from the best hacker I know.
>> Yep.
>> The guy that could probably get in any other way. That's what he said.
[laughter] In a minute.
I'm a menace.
>> They've come a long way since artillery cannons.
>> What's that?
>> All right. Now, I have to go talk to Money Penny, but I'm going to look around this place first.
>> May I have a look?
>> PCO.
>> Uh, results of their physical scans.
Okay. Wait, is any of this suspect? Hold on.
I can't imagine there being anything suspect in their physical scans because they're MI6 agents.
>> I know more of the same.
>> At least three packs of nanowires.
>> Dear lord, we need this thing out on time. Mctor Okay, >> Gary, watch out.
>> Just making sure you were paying attention.
>> Just making sure you were paying attention. Everyone knows about the exploding cigar, but my personal favorite has got to be the exploding conch.
>> Well, that or the one where they supposedly tried to make his hair and beard fall off so he'd lose the respect of his men.
>> Honestly, how the cousins managed to stay ahead of us for so long is beyond me.
>> Manifest destiny.
>> Must be.
>> Sounds about right.
>> That's wild. Somebody holds a shell up to their ear to hear the ocean and it explodes.
Oh, that's messed up. That's messed up, dude.
>> Have you been >> explosion? Okay, come on.
>> I tell you, some of this cold war stuff is ingenious for it time. I found this 60s era diesel powered jetpack. Complete death trap, of course. I wouldn't strap it on to save my life, but still.
>> Well, yeah.
>> I loved the rocket trying.
>> Strange.
>> Good movie.
Fire in the hole.
>> Target down. No two ways about it.
>> Tremendous design. Barely any recoil.
What's next?
>> We need to talk downscaling. Q has a blueprint for a fountain pen version.
>> Think big. Go small.
>> Hey, I like your rocket. What happens if I press this button?
>> Oh, no you don't.
>> Hands off, Bond. Sorry, my hand slipped.
>> My hand slipped on the activate button of the rocket launcher. I'm so sorry.
>> We need to increase the payload. We want an oil slick, not a trail.
>> The payload size is fine. It's thrust and velocity that's the problem. Let me try and tweak the parameters.
>> Give it a shot.
>> Oh, I was hoping we'd walk back here and go.
What other kind of modifications are you doing?
>> Well, Simmons's team is working on tie shredders, and we have some nifty stuff in the pipeline.
>> A do we have to take you outside?
>> Machine guns.
>> Did no one take the SUV out today, guys?
Oh my god.
>> This is how you get ants, chat. Um, >> slick.
>> Very funny.
>> I think I may have one more in me.
>> Don't even think about it.
What?
>> What is that?
>> That is an impetus cube. Its design is evocative but ambiguous. Its purpose elusive. Few people can resist the urge to pick it up. Of course, when they do, >> curiosity killed the trespasser.
>> Stunned. We're not barbarians, >> but they will need a change of >> Oh, I'm so Okay, we need to stop walking away from people as they talk.
>> So, it looks like this device spins and generates a magnetic field and then holds itself up.
I'm surprised there's not rails on this, but like that could work.
It's not It's not really hovering. It's just a strong magnetic thing, right?
Yeah. Maybe the electricity zaps are a bit much, but >> looks like there's a copper wire generator under it. That could could that happen? Could you do that?
I don't I don't know if you could spin something fast enough to make that much force. Maybe that was really light.
Yeah. Not with that size, right?
Huh. Interesting to think about, though.
But I mean the I mean you can you can hover with magnets. So yeah I mean trains are magnet I mean there's mag lev trains right? So theoretically something like that should be real.
>> Ready.
>> But again it have to be on rails to hold it or we just fly away doing propulsion.
>> Oh [laughter] >> you all right?
>> Bloody hell. It's like stepping in front of a jet engine.
>> Oh go again.
>> Give me a moment. My bells are adjusting.
>> The brown note. Oh no.
>> Hey.
>> Oh, I was going to try to catch him in it again. Sorry.
Okay, I think we're finally done here. What a fun room. So much like random just fun stuff to look at and do.
Q watch is field certified. Currently in stress testing, awaiting final sign off.
Critical gadgets field certified. Like everything has like actual >> Slow down. You'll trip on that cable.
>> Writing and stuff on it, which is really cool. Man, look at that gun. Damn.
>> Easy now. Sorry. Just trying to get through.
These are batteries for our watch. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You can see in the bottom left my watch battery is going up every time I pick that up. Cool. Okay.
Jetpack upgrade fuel management. Drone replace batteries. Foam reinforced container.
One day.
Look up. There's the ceiling. There it is again. Look up. There is the ceiling.
Okay.
Uh, ghost stalker.
>> Change of plans. Q has issued a new disguised means of communications and now all missions will be sent via the coalition mobile app.
Additionally, he would like to remind you that while you can see the wide range of available disguises at website, you should try to keep it classy.
>> You are 007, not agent 47.
>> Fair. That's fair. Thanks a lot, Ghoster. Appreciate your 84 months, dude. Thank you. Thank you.
>> Ridiculous.
>> Okay, chat. Um, I am going to continue this tomorrow morning and I am having a great time. But unfortunately, we have a something else at 12 in 2 minutes. So, we're going to have to uh I think we're have to park it here.
>> Uh, exit to mission. Yes.
>> Yes.
>> If you're ready to leave, I'll brief you on advance.
>> All right. We'll see the next bit of this then go from there.
>> Four.
>> Your digs.
>> MI6 is setting you up in safe houses for the next 6 months.
>> You're with Kristen Monroe. Oh, so we're not going back to Malta.
>> I show you this and you want to go back to bunk beds to kill for a place like that.
>> But yes, you'll be going back and forth between MI6 and Malta for advanced training. When in London, you'll just have to slam it in Bazewater.
Oh, hi. Oh, >> Steven Brite, >> foreign Secretary Bright Bond.
>> I was just dropping off a few boxes for Cresa. I hope we'll meet again.
>> Travico says, "I like Money Penny. I like all of them so far. Every character seems well voiced and and is fitting in the world really well." Yeah.
>> Hey, Bond. Welcome home.
>> Hey, guys. Cool. Great point to stop it.
We'll pick up right from there. Probably tomorrow morning, I think. Let me let me double check my my calendar, but I'm pretty sure Yeah, I think I think we're going to go right from there tomorrow morning. Cool.
Okay. Thank you so much again to our friends at IO Interactive. That was awesome. If you want more information on 007 First Light, you can find it in the link at the uh at co.tv/7007 first light. There we go. And again, a big thanks to them. We're going to continue that adventure tomorrow morning. Uh because I was really digging that. So, uh continues tomorrow morning.
All right. So, on that note, we're going to do a hard switch here to an event that's starting right now.
Um Sean with a $10 tip. Oh, thank you.
Banned from everything. Sew banned from everything. A unit gamer with the $10 tip to the mod team as well. And we can maybe look at that, man. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Okay, give me uh one second here.
Where are we? Where are we? There we go.
Okay, are we here?
>> Devs from last weekend Summit Games Festival in Kyoto, Japan. I'm coming to you live from the most Japanese place that I could uh get to on the bus.
London, England. And for the next hour, I'll be walking you through some of the hottest world premieres, trailers, and reveals fresh from the festival. We've got something for everyone. Whether you're after survival horror or RPGs that are stuffed with narrative or games about dating supernaturally ginormous women, and I know that you are after that last one. I've read your emails.
They were vivid. But don't worry, you don't have to just hang out with me here in London. Our own veteran news hounds were live on the scene in Kyoto to interview developers, check out games, and expense [music] a heroic amount of takyaki all while this was happening. In fact, why don't we check out what they were up to right now?
>> What are we doing right now? This is the BitSummit show hosted by Games Radar.
We're being sponsored. Watch us today.
Hello everyone, my name is >> And if you like anything you like, go to code.tv/bssp. It's all there.
>> Bitsummit in Kyoto, Japan, the biggest indie game show in Japan. You will see 2D FPS games, weird controllers, some retro platformers that will fill everyone's needs or cravings for indie games. And trust me when I say we have some seriously exciting stuff coming [music] up. I am not joking. You will see the worldwide indie games and indie games from Japan. So look forward to that. Thank you again and back to you in the studios, Jules.
So, what say we kick things off with a bang? Our first game of the night is a bonafide world premiere, and it dares to ask, what if a load of really, really horrible stuff happened to people [music] in space? From developer Simon Lucashik, here is Capernicus.
I love when bad things happen to people in space. It's like one of my favorite things.
Okay. May maybe not this.
>> You can't escape. You love wishlistic extraction.
>> Help.
Okay.
Oh, is this the giant woman dating sim game?
[music] [music] That's you using your phone. Okay, that's pretty [music] silly.
What in the heck is this?
[music] >> [music] >> dude.
What? What? What?
>> Crazy lady game. Congratulations [music] to all of you who just experienced some kind of awakening and to the communities of at least 35 specialty subreddits who now feel truly seen for the first time in their lives. Now, [music] next up, remember the good old J books where the line between life and [laughter] death was all a matter of which page [music] you turn to next?
>> I think this host is going to be just fine for this show. Tales, which is bringing back the days that I spent hunched over a copy of Grail Quest in glorious video game form. Oh man, nice.
Good reference.
[music] Oh, really? I was going to say that first couple things looked a little suspect to be honest. That's why. Okay.
Interesting. Cool.
Huh.
Okay. The pencil thing is kind of cool, huh? Fore! Foreign! Foreign!
dude. Is it fully voice acted but in Japanese?
>> Maybe not. Looks like there's no narrator. Okay.
What a fun idea. That's a really cool idea. I like that.
[music] Yo, immersive semi. Okay. Okay. Like that. If if the whole game's going to be like that, that could be kind of fun.
Nightmare House takes the classic survival horror experience of a beloved mod and turns it into a fullyfledged and fully terrifying game. Almost as scary as my first year uni halls. Now that house a nightmare house. 800 quid a month without bills. Are you kidding?
I'd rather take the undead horde.
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah. The BitSummit punch mixtape in association with Games Radar. Yeah. Where the next game that we're going to be talking about is an actionpacked twin stick beat him up and is one where you put on the sandals of a robot monk with a very, very big stick. Here is Zen Shattered Legacy.
Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Samurai Champlooy right now.
Is Emberville in this? No. I think I think this is a Japanese-based event. I >> I didn't have a lot of uh experience with this before this this stream.
harrowing voice.
>> Dude, is this the actual soundtrack for the game?
>> It's pretty chill.
>> This music has some Dave the Diver vibes. It kind of does.
>> Yeah, >> I like that, man.
Let's check in with our boys on the ground.
>> Hi, my name is John Davis. I'm one of the organizers and founders of BitSummit. So, BitSummit started in really around 2012 was when we started to think about it. We were between projects uh at Q Games [music] uh one of the the co-founding companies uh myself and James Milky and our producer Tobi Nagasan. We had about 200 people about, you know, [music] 50 developers from from around Japan. For the first few years, we didn't have [music] a lot of sponsors. You know, graciously Sony and Epic were were there in and Kyto uh Kyto Prefecture was supporting us, but the bulk of the show was these small developers that would, you know, travel and we'd give them a table for free like, "Hey, just [music] show your stuff. We want everybody to get together." And so we were on the first floor of this building for a few years and we went from 200 people to 2,000 people to 5,000 people to [music] and it just kept growing and growing and growing. When we came back from the pandemic, it was 50,000. Everyone here, all the nice dude sponsors, we love them so much, but they make all of this possible for us to [music] bring these smaller developers here. People come to BitSummit and then, you know, they say, "I want to make a game." And then like they come back two years later and they exhibit their game at BitSummit. Uh and then [music] they find a publisher and and then you know they come back and they're at the publishers booth like a year later. And so the whole event is based around that kind of ethos, you know, that community.
>> Dude, this guy's awesome. I feel I feel like this dude just you talk about scenes existing. I feel like that guy made a scene. Oh, we're incredibly proud to be able to provide created an ecos here and we can't wait to see what the future of Bids summer brings. Stay tuned.
>> Good for him, man. What a boss. What a great way to spend your time. That's inspirational.
Did they Did we catch his name, by the way? Did he introduce himself with his name?
Let me go back and find it.
The mage [music] who lost magic.
Uh, Katamari. Yeah, you played the demo for this. Nice, man.
His name is John Davis.
I instantly was like, I wonder if we could get John Davis on Drop Frames.
[music] I like I'd love to talk to him about that, like how how it all happened. I feel like he could be a really fun guest.
>> What is he also? I think he's also the lead singer of Korn. Yeah. Oh no, it's John then. Never mind.
Ow.
In Wonderland, where the souls of the dead are trapped, only those who defeat the queen can be free.
>> Wait, is this an is this Alice?
No way. Look at this. It's a take on Alice and Wonderland.
Huh?
Form poker hands with skill cards to enhance your skills.
If defeated, time rewards.
Confess your sins and turn them into power.
Why did the queen create this world?
What awaits the victor? Salvation or retribution.
What was that game called? I think they pronounced it crime or a lighter.
What was this?
I think it was it was either crime light or grime light.
>> I don't know which one. The first letter was a little weird.
parkour maybe.
Oh, crimey like like crime like Oh, okay. Okay.
Is this a climbing game? Oh, god.
Oh, I don't know about this.
Oh, it's like Mirror's Edge almost.
Okay. Wait, what?
What?
Alen, is that you?
>> Broken Lore Ascend. That looks so strange.
>> Now, I'm not going to lie to you folks.
I've been excited about broken law ever since I fell down an urban exploration hole on YouTube that one time. I mean, I love the idea of going somewhere that you're not meant to, surrounded by people in a dense city.
>> Now, admittedly, I am less keen on being killed by a scary head lady with an infinite neck, but you take the rough with the smooth. Now, our next game is the game of kings. The old 18 holes, tigers folly. That is right. We are talking about golf. And Yodi Golf is an openw world multiplayer co-op game featuring literally one golf ball. No, really. Check it out.
>> Wait, what?
>> One, 2, 3.
>> Yay.
She'll be coming around the mountain.
Here she comes. She'll be coming [music] around the mountain.
She'll be coming. She'll be coming.
>> Oh no.
[music] I feel like for a trailer like this, it's great to show people having fun, but like talk about what your game is first. I don't even I think this is a I'm pretty sure it's a golf game. Not seeing a lot of golf. Like what what is what do you do? Do you all try to hit the ball at the same time?
>> I have no clue what just happened.
Hi, I'm Johnie and I'm a technical producer at Q Games. This [laughter] is Yodily Golf.
>> Is it co-op? Is it PvP? I don't know. I have no idea.
>> Adventure style golf game and it's just a ton of fun. It's kind of meant to be crazy golf.
>> Here we go. Oh, this is probably why they made the trailer. Okay.
>> Are going to be in a open world full of mysteries, puzzles, all sorts of crazy crazy items. And also you have a single golf ball. So you have to play golf and get it into the hole and any word you say is going to come to life and you're going to see all the words of every player.
>> Wait, what?
Wait.
>> Summit is unlike any other.
>> No, no, no. Talk about that more. being a part [laughter] of an event with these >> creators who come from every part of the world, these really indie creators who are making the most innovative titles.
Um, and I think this indie mentality is why. And I'm just really grateful to be able to be a part of >> dude. I I wonder if there's any like restrictions >> that the game >> in that golf game so hard >> cuz I can think of the right streamer group getting a hold of that >> with some of the words they say on stream all the time.
>> I love like hearing what they say.
Sometimes they even have like amazing design ideas, amazing like input on our game [laughter] >> and I think it's so so fun just to be able to talk to everyone and kind of just be a part of like the energy of Brit.
>> That's awesome. I love it. Where is this convention? Uh, Japan. Yep. We're watching today thanks to Games Radar.
They uh they're bringing it state side.
Also, maybe BitSummit may be doing that as well themselves. Oh, wait a second.
This looks familiar. Maybe not. This looks like that astral game we played a long time ago with the leashes and stuff, but no, this is not that.
Whoa.
Um, what the hell?
Yo. Okay, this combat system looks like it has some thought in it, man.
I want to see more of it.
Oh man. Okay. An anomality. Oh, anomal anomalith. Anomalith. That's a cool word. Anomalith. It's like monolith and anomaly.
bro. It goes between real life and pixel art.
Oh, that's awesome.
Okay.
Yo, we got to mark that one down. That could be fun. That's super unique.
Oh, hey, by the way, [music] I'm I'm I'm just going to mute it real quick. Um, someone in chat just said that they work for Games Radar and if they want to see if we can intro the guy to Drop Frames. Yeah, that'd be great.
European Bob, if you could send a message to co uh or businessco.tv, I' I'd love to get an intro to him and we'll see if he wants to be on the show.
That'd be fun.
Thank you, man.
new. Wait, what? Hold up. What just happened? That was Dusk, but like in turn-based. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Yeah, I was going to say I heard Dave tweeting about this 2026 with Dungeons of Dusk and Penra Somnia. Dungeons of Dusk is uh a turn-based dungeon crawler, classic dungeon crawler based on and taking place in between our 2018 first person shooter Dusk. Everybody knows Dusk, right? Dusk was, you know, it uh it helped kickstart the boomer shooter renaissance, right? Um and we've done some spin-offs and we always really wanted to make a dungeon crawler, you know, a classic step-by-step turn-based dungeon crawler based on our favorite dungeon crawler, which was actually a mobile game, Doom RPG. So, id Software, they had spun off a couple of mobile games, Doom RPG and Wolfenstein 3D RPG.
I've never even heard of those. And those were there was a Doom RPG. I remember them really fondly. They're not as complicated as say something like a Wizardry, but like they're just they're just so much fun to pick up and play.
And we thought Dusk would lend itself really well.
>> I would have thought he would have pedrim.
We're happy to be here in Japan showing it in Japanese for the first time because we know the Japanese audience, they love dungeon crawlers. We know wizardry especially is huge in Japan. I couldn't be happier to have, you know, a dungeon crawler in Japanese in Kyoto 2026.
>> Terriia is a classic survival horror but in in a 2D.
>> Oh, New Blood is doing this one too.
Man, they're on a roll game, let's say.
But when you advance on the story, you get cutscenes. And these cutscenes are in live action made by an award-winning crew of filmmakers and special effects people. So the contrast of the of both styles. It's so shocking that it elevates the horror. The idea is that people comes for the cutscenes, but they stay for [music] the story. Want to thank all the people. I think we have to check both like new shirt. All our team, all our [laughter] crew, we just >> What's going on in that shirt?
and also Dave Asher >> and you know Tenneromnia as well being able to bring Andres all the way here from Argentina and bringorf the creator of Faith the unholy trinity here to Japan um to show off Tenneromnia. We've got the props from the game.
>> We have a recreation of uh one of the bedroom bedroom cutscenes from the game right here that has been replicated.
>> We know the Japanese audience is really going to appreciate that stuff. We know you guys love your horror games. We know you guys love your old school FMV uh games. So, we've we've got that. So, it's um again, it's just uh just seeing the reaction from people of the Japanese fans has been um >> you know, that's why we're here. That's why we do it.
>> The game is is inspired by >> Dave Ori. He runs New Blood. He's he's he's a character in gamedev.
>> It's crazy here in Japan where it all began. And it's also really special on Twitter because at here at New Blood, we're all about making friends, making games with us, funny viral tweets all the time.
>> And so when we get to meet people who enjoy our games like in person, they get to be our friends and we're making games as friends so we can all enjoy games together and it's a really special feeling.
>> Hell yeah, man. They make they make games for the right reasons. I really like New Blood for that. And I can't believe even more that we didn't have to >> They make games for the right reasons.
>> Anyway, uh big news, ladies and gentlemen. Uh, I'm getting word that yes, it is time again for another world premiere to blow your socks off and add a new game to your heaving swollen wish lists. From Black Tower Studios, here is a game about how you can do anything you want if you just believe in yourself, including Back Alley Surgery.
Ah, hi.
That voice that I don't know about that.
Fore!
Foreign! Foreign!
[music] Symptoms, please. I know, right? Oh, look at this.
>> Oh my god, dude. for demo.
Dr. I kind of loved that the whole VO was in Japanese cuz even if it was in English, I don't think I would have gotten more information. I'm going to be real.
>> Humans [music] call me Laya. We cannot operate your machines and you cannot survive without us. That is why we maintain the reservation zone. In exchange for our protection, some humans are [music] sorted and sent as sacrifices. Outside the walls there with demons who exist only to kill. We hold them back as best we can. I don't know what awaits us next. But as long as we are by your side, this world has not yet collapsed.
>> Bro, we need more than that. What is What? What is that? What? What? What?
What's the game? There's demo apparently, but okay.
[music] A good way to think about a trailer is that is a fractional point of time and it's a very good chance that the majority of people on this planet will only ever hear about your project through the trailer you make. So, it is so important to make sure you get the right information in it because like if you don't then that's like a huge missed opportunity. [music] This looks awesome to me.
This looks crazy.
[music] It's like a timebased visual novel.
Is that a phone ringing? I thought that was the text [music] at first, but I think that's supposed to be a phone ringing.
Damn, there's a demo out now if you want to try that one out.
Is Emberville going to be moddable? My game. Uh, we want we want to shoot for a mod solution by 1.0, but it will it will not be we're not going to have like mod support by on EA.
>> Yeah.
I like his ears.
There we go.
[laughter] Schroinger's Call is a game about conversations with lost souls.
>> Stop playing with the settings. I'm not touching anything.
>> Life continue [music] to echo after death. I don't think that there are any cats involved. I could be wrong, actually. I mean, cats do linger in the afterlife, too. You know, >> they do.
>> Anyway, up next, we've got Falsus, an absolutely hypnotic rhythm game that is also somehow a card game. I mean, what?
I have to use my fingers and my brain in this one. That seems unfair.
>> He's not wrong.
for Whoa.
That looked cool.
>> Like that music.
>> Yeah, it's like a rhythm game, but it seems like it has a real Okay.
[laughter] Bro, this is like the 13 Sentinels of Rhythm games.
>> Yeah, that actually looks like it could be kind of fun.
That's cool.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> You are [music] heat.
It's almost lost art, but it very much isn't. What was that?
Reincarnation insurance program. RIP.
It's Hotline Japan.
Cohen, nice.
We bring eight games to Bis Summit this year and including Soden's skin which just broke 1.5 million copy sales this year and we hope like we can make more friends in this summit and to connect with many um players who love us during B summit this year. This is the eighth year we have joined this summit and we think Japanese market your mic's working >> for us because like Japanese have um many players bought a lot of our games and we think that is very thankful for that and also we think this summit is a very important platform for us. We have connected to many of our partners and also it's just a good chance for us to let other Japanese player to play our game.
Now, I might be biased, friends, but what other showcase is going to hit you with the 1 2 3 4 5 6 seven hit punch of dark fantasy management, survival bullet heavens, Metroid vanias, top down shooters, alchemy, eerie ward cities, and my favorite, Chinese fantasy daughter raising sims, all in just under 2 minutes. Nowhere, that's where. And we're [music] not done yet. Oh, and if any of the games that you've seen today tickle your fancy, and how could they not, then don't forget to wishlist them by heading to the link below. [music] >> By the way, my link's better.
>> Now, don't go anywhere, folks. We've still gotten our sleeve before we call it a night.
>> Tonight at 6, what is reclusive tech billionaire Tom Ballinger's new secret project?
Whoa. What is this?
[music] This looks like alone in the dark one.
[music] Unhomely.
I'm seeing a lot of black lanterns.
foreign.
Keep me. [music] >> [music and singing] >> Wait, what?
Man, Japanese games are a vibe, dude. I don't know what's in the water over there, but like they have they are doing some of the craziest mashups and like this stuff looks crazy progressive. Like there's just so many things here we haven't seen before.
>> Have changed.
>> It's like overwhelming.
>> Basic human needs disappeared. We don't age or get ill. Our wounds heal themselves.
>> Let them cook. They're cooking hard over there, man.
>> This island eaten. But soon a new type of hunger emerged.
>> We became prisoners of ambrosia, a rare fruit that only some of us can acquire.
>> Those who don't shortly fall into madness.
>> There are cruel creatures dwelling in every shadow, appearing from nowhere. By slaying them, we take over their power.
But >> we need to watch out for our frantic companions, too.
This hellish place shouldn't exist any longer. We need to put an end to Eden.
>> That almost looked like Gothic.
>> Now, you might not ever see me again once End of Eden hits. It's the exact kind of harsh clockwork world that I go crazy for. I mean, yes, its island is profoundly cursed, but look, nobody's perfect. Anyway, coming >> should have said, "But I'm from Britain."
>> We've got a game with a simple question.
If things started subtly changing around your flat, would you notice it? Like really notice it before it's all too late? Well, you better hope so, because you've got 7 days to think about it.
Okay.
A short psychological horror game.
[music] Huh.
Barely arcane. Our resident UK mod just said bloody uppidity colonials. Is that is that what I am? An uppidity colonial.
[laughter] I'm sorry. [music] Here, have some tea. Oh, I threw it all away. I'm sorry.
My bad.
Whoops. Dropped it in the ocean.
>> [music] >> Wait, what? Do that again. Is that how you look at the map?
Bro, that is not what happens every time you look at the map.
Please show that again.
[screaming] Dude, this art style is crazy.
That's really cool. That's That's a gorgeous game.
Yeah, like colored pencil art. Great.
>> Where's the shade? Where's red?
Well, are you a failure?
>> Could do better, [music] but it's hard.
Every time I try, someone gets hurt.
>> I don't understand any of that, but thanks.
>> I have a feeling this song, this game's going to be real sad.
>> Look out. Don't let her fade >> so you don't get lost.
>> [music] >> Come on, friend. Follow us. We won't let you lose your way.
Anyone you photographed is a friend. Let the spirits guide your path forward.
>> Oh my. This Yeah, this game would destroy me probably. Nope. Nope. Nope.
Nope. Red alert.
>> You're my light.
Nope.
>> Thank you very much everyone for joining us. I hope you had a great time. Do >> Before you go, remember guys to wishlist all the games because wishlisting is free. We'll see you at next year's Bit Summit.
>> Say, thank you everyone for tuning in to Bit Summit [music] Punch Mixtape. We've had an amazing weekend here in Kyoto and I can't thank you all for tuning in to our inaugural show. Please make sure you head to our Steam page.
>> Oh, this was their first show >> and uh you know check them out. Wish list them, >> bro. That is cool.
>> These devs some love. It really >> that was great for a first show.
>> We'll see you next year.
>> Peace.
>> Yo. Okay, seriously.
>> And that's our Let's hear the outro.
>> Thanks for tuning in to the BitSummit punch mixtape in association. And do not forget with Games Radar, make sure to head to the link below to find out more about all the games you saw today.
BSP by the way with any luck. I will continue to be for some time. It's been a pleasure. You know what? Let's see each other again soon, shall we? Yeah.
Yeah. You pop over anytime you want.
Maybe call first though, cuz I do live in Wales and it's quite a drive and I don't want you to get there and just be told that you can't come in. Um, my cat's also quite sick at the moment, so you'd have to be dealing with a lot of fur. But wait, if you're still hungry for more exciting games, then our friends over at The Mix are putting on an absolutely stellar showcase.
Seriously, don't go anywhere. Their stream is about to start right now. So, here we go. Wait, what is this? What's happening now? [music] I think I think that was it. But no.
Okay, real talk. Real talk. So, this show apparently has been going on for years in Japan, but this is the first time they've done an actual show. And yo, real talk, we've we've especially over the last like six or seven years, we've watched a lot of shows on this channel. And especially first shows are sometimes really rough because you can kind of tell that the people making the show may not really be gamers and they don't really understand the audience.
So, I can safely say after watching this, for a first show, that was great.
That was awesome. I mean, think whatever you want about the games. That was like title, title, gameplay, quick funny quip from a host, super fast interview, title, gameplay, gameplay, gameplay, game. Like, that was good. Like, you can tell whoever made that has seen these shows in the past and knew what they were doing. So, that was that was good.
And my lord, for a first show, congrats to Bitsummit. was cool. I'll say this right now, most of those games are games I probably won't play, and that's because they are super risk-taking.
They're super vibey, and they're kind of down directions I don't normally do. But I will say this, those types of games are not only some people's jam, which I'm sure they'll absolutely love it by itself, but those types of games are what make all future games better. We're seeing people take risks. We're seeing genre matchups we've never seen before.
We're seeing people trying to like make interesting systems that have never seen but like dude that game that we saw with the cardbased Guitar Hero story thing.
What? [laughter] Like that's cool. I'm not super into the anime vibe of that game, but if something like that comes out later that's based on Mecca, I'll probably play the hell out of that. And that and that new game probably wouldn't exist without this old one that or the one that we just saw, which is gonna be brand new someday. So yeah, man. I I have a lot of respect for that kind of stuff. Um even if it's not super my thing, I I love those shows and I and I love seeing what everyone's doing. Like that's so cool. I love that. I love that. Anyway, on that and there's certainly there's more than a few games though I did see that I think we might play. Um yeah, like those New Blood game looked looked fantastic. Uh that that pixel art game into real like real footage that looked wild. Dr. Oops looked fun. Um, End of Eden looked fun. Uh, yeah, there there were a lot of games in there that I think are right up our alley. So, we'll have to see.
Anyway, guys, I am out of here for now.
I've got a couple meetings and stuff this afternoon and I and I skipped lunch because it was a very busy day. So, I'm going to go ahead and probably duck out for now. Um, but I am Am I back tonight?
I don't know if I'm going to be back tonight, but I'll definitely be back tomorrow morning. And tomorrow, we're going to do more 007. Uh, maybe some more Age of Conan. We got some other fun stuff to do as we kind of keep moving through the day, but yeah, man. Lot going on. Thank you as always so much for being here. I really appreciate it.
Hope you enjoyed all of our games today.
And uh I will see you guys tomorrow for um 7 Conan and maybe some more. Thank you as always. Appreciate your time.
Shout out and thanks again to our friends over at Games Radar for sponsoring that last look at the BitSummit event. And we'll see you later. Have a great one. Bye-bye. Enjoy.
Pasco.
[music] Bring on the wall of good vibes.
[music] You again.
By order of Mortaxius, the true master of the acolytes, your life must remain vanquished.
Don't resist. It'll be quicker that way.
>> All these empty [music] houses with nothing but sorrow and shadows in them.
I see you're confused. Ignore the cloud in your mind. The villagers need your help. And the vitromeatus is no place for awakens.
It will be a difficult task, but together [music] you will rebuild this town.
[music] Find a safe place and hone your skill to prepare for the [music] challenges ahead.
And there will be many for the eternal prison. No, no bounds.
There's no way out of this prison, wanderer, nor from the unceasing grip of death.
It's right in the butt. Get the butt.
Are any of you guys dealing with something like this? Are you all chronic save scums like I am?
Stop save scumming. Yeah, it's like telling a fish to start stop breathing water, dick. Stop safe scumming. Are you new? Trying to get my balls over there.
Come on now.
