[00:02:36]You'd likely join a frigate or ship of the line as a midshipman, essentially an officer in training, and your life immediately became miserable.

[00:02:47]Not because you were in danger yet, because everyone on board hated midshipmen.

[00:02:53]You were too important to be treated like a normal sailor, but too inexperienced to be respected by the officers.
