The Kenyan High Court's temporary blocking of a US Ebola quarantine facility highlights ongoing debates about African sovereignty, with critics questioning why Kenya would accept foreign quarantine facilities for American citizens while the disease is not present in Kenya, and whether African leaders are prioritizing foreign interests over their citizens' welfare.

breaking: KENYA HIGH COURT BLOCKS Trump and RutoAjouté :
on the issue of setting up a US-based Ebola quarantine in Kenya.
First of all, why in Kenya?
>> Stop what you are doing, family, brothers and sisters. Kenya has become America's new state?
If not, why America is planning to build an Ebola quarantine facility for its own citizen inside Kenya?
Why not in America? Why in Kenya?
Let me take you to what um the leader of America are saying and the leaders of Kenya are saying. Listen to Mark Luby.
>> The number one priority of our foreign policy is to protect the American people. We cannot and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States.
>> You see, they cannot allow and they will not allow any case of Ebola to come to United States of America.
Or to go to America.
But they are only They are ready to allow to go to other country.
Let me take you to leaders of Kenya. What they're saying?
You know, sometimes it is paining.
>> Surely, we cannot be so stupid to go and just say we are bringing a disease and carrying it and sprinkling it amongst our people.
No, no, no. We are actually being proactive.
In the event this disaster hurts, what do we do?
So, we must be prepared for both the citizens of Kenya and also be prepared because we are a significant player within the international arena.
So, this is sometimes how you are misinterpreted or how you are misinterpreted.
>> So, we are accepting because we are biggest player in the national arena.
Does that make sense?
Maybe we have misinterpreted, but you you you can understand. Try to compare the statement made by Marco Rubio and the statement made by uh Kenyan leader. You can understand that we Africans we use a lot of words to express ourselves, but these white people they know what they want.
But what the citizens of Kenya are saying >> on the issue of setting up a US-based Ebola quarantine in Kenya.
First of all, why in Kenya?
Ebola is in Uganda and Congo and those parts of the world.
Why set up a quarantine space in Kenya when there's no Ebola cases in Kenya?
Then, why only set a quarantine space for a specific country? Why US?
This reminds me sometime back, I think should be last year, when the president of uh USA stopped US aid.
And this affected many people in this country, especially those who work in NGOs that are sponsored by US aid.
And [snorts] they stopped facilitating medication, uh vaccines, and what have you.
And then they are faced with a challenge, and they want Kenya to save them.
And to make matters worse, our president is is almost accepting it. It's like this government is accepting whatever US is saying.
And we are asking ourselves, why? Why are you putting the lives of Kenyans at risk?
>> Yes, those are some of critical questions raised by Africans. Before diving deep to our discussion, let me share this video.
This video on your screen, see? This is an artificial video created by Kenyans.
But the aim of this video is to express how we Africans we celebrate even bad thing. When trouble coming, we dance.
When bad leaders we coming, we dance. When bad decision just made, we dance.
We dance and we celebrate almost everything. And so in this project uh Kenya's promised money, jobs, you know?
These people they know how to play with our minds. They will come and say they will create jobs and they will of course exchange of knowledge and skills. That's how they conquer us. They conquer us through small things.
Jobs. How many people will be hired in this project?
Because this project is just simpler.
But they will say friendship, partnership.
But behind they've already provided the money to governments to support these kind of projects.
But citizens have been told this is job. You're going to to be employed.
You're going to maybe you are going to have uh opportunity to go to America. To those who are maybe medical doctors and the other things will be told that after this mission you will have the opportunity to go to America. As you know our people love to go to America.
So you will maybe uh having you will have a promotion to go and work in international organizations.
And we love money.
That's what will happen. But all in all family brothers and sisters, let us go back to our basic question.
This question that we need to ask ourselves.
How can a foreign government plan to build an Ebola quarantine facility for its own citizens inside an African country.
Can African country any African country build maybe a quarantine facility in America?
And why is it happening in Kenya?
Why America chose Kenya? A country that is Ebola free.
Why not in Congo?
Why not in Uganda?
Where there are some cases of Ebola. Why Kenya?
They want to spread or there's something secret.
So, family, brothers and sisters, but the good thing is that a Kenyan high court has temporarily blocked the United States government's plan to build those. Of course, it's almost 50-bed Ebola quarantine facility in Kenya. So, the high court of Kenya has temporarily banned that plan.
So, maybe the government of Kenya will try to find another way, but the high court judges has blocked that mission.
But, the question still there. Is Kenya still full in control of its own destiny?
Or has President Ruto handed over too much power to foreign interests?
Or Ruto is a man who is serving the interest of Western powers. Because recently we witnessed, you know, I don't understand.
We accepted their bases to be stationed here.
We accepted them to control and take control of our resources. Now, we're accepting them to bring patients.
Not only that, we accepted prisoners, criminals from those countries, from America to come to to stay in Africa. We accepted Some countries accepted the position of Palestinians. That some African countries have accepted that Palestinians have to be taken out from Gaza to African countries. Some African accepted African countries.
We accepted asylum seekers from Europeans to come back in the Africa to some certain countries.
So, are we free?
Or we are You know something that I don't understand.
Oh, we have we have only flags. We are slaves.
You know, even a crazy man or woman don't know that he's crazy.
Maybe we are we are we are slaves.
Maybe we are colonials.
How can we accept everything?
How can we accept everything?
From the Western powers.
Today, America want to establish quarantine Ebola quarantine facility for only Americans people.
Not for Africans. You Africans will have to die.
You Kenyan, even if you are in Kenya, you will die. This facility is for Americans.
So, this is the biggest story uh in Kenya.
And this is about African sovereignty, dignity, and the future of our continent. If we don't raise our voices, they will come and say, "We are coming to build this."
And how are we sure we are going to control Ebola in Kenya?
If virus will spread in Kenya, what will happen?
Because before viruses were not there.
So, it means people come from DRC or other places where there's Ebola to to Kenya. And if Kenya will have Ebola, it means Ebola will spread to Tanzania, Ebola will spread to Somalia, Ebola will spread to Ethiopia, to Sudan, South Sudan.
And why America always don't want, as you heard from Marco Rubio, they are not ready to accept anybody thing to come or to go to their country. Why they prefer Africa? Is Africa a testing ground?
Is Africa where you can establish laboratories for your own thing, for your testing?
And that's why I congratulate President Ibrahim Traoré for closing all malaria This is what you call GMO mosquito um sponsored by Big Gates in Burkina Faso.
How long should we continue to be testing ground?
To become a laboratory.
Why Africa is only testing ground?
People don't care. [clears throat] And why our leaders don't care about our future, our about our lives?
Can Kenya do like that? Why don't Kenya told America, "Build your quarantine to your homeland."
Being special plane and evacuate your people, then put your quarantine in America. Why don't they do like that? Why they want to bring in Kenya?
And for own people.
So, Africans will need to wake up.
Africans will need to wake up.
And I I heard uh the leader of Kenya, Mudavadi, I think so, uh talking about uh Kenya is a major player in global arena.
How can you become a major player in the global arena for inviting problems, for bringing problems?
Is it America America is not a a big player?
Why are they not ready to accept Ebola?
Why they they they they want put to another places?
The young man has raised the question, why not in any Democratic Republic of Congo? Why they want to build in Kenya?
No, we Africans we need to ask ourself difficult question and uncomfortable questions.
We enjoy to stay in comfort zones. We need to move out of this comfort zone.
We need to ask ourself why America is citing Kenya.
People may say it is very easy for the plane and the other facilities to evacuate people. Is it true?
How they How did they go to to Democratic Republic of Congo? How did they reach in DRC?
So, I'm just sharing [clears throat] this, family, brothers and sisters, for you to understand kind of leaders that we have.
And these are leaders whom you think they can unite this continent.
These are leaders whom you think they can bring Africans together.
If they can be told by America, don't unite, can they unite us?
If they can be If these leaders can be told by America, by European Union, by France, don't do that for the Africa, can they do for the interest of Africa? If they are headed to um to threaten the lives of these people.
You know African leaders, some of them, not all, some of them, they like a lot of money.
Africans leaders, they think money is everything. When we promise them money, I hope America has promised us money.
If we we are promised money, we think all problems will be solved by money.
So, people have been told that there's some amount of money you'll get as a country, you will get this project, you'll get that. But how can you get a project where people are already died?
There's nothing there.
And I will show you why that that money will come at exactly time.
Those are just promises.
So, sometimes when I'm I'm speaking like this, I feel like I'm struggling, and I feel sometimes like um I'm I'm I'm disappointed, but I keep my head up to continue to preach the unity of this continent and liberation of Africa. Because if we don't do so, if I don't play my part, if you don't play your part, Africa is going uh to disappear. Africa is going to disappear. We must understand the mission of others, other civilization, what they think about this continent.
And we have to tell your leaders.
And I don't know when leaders go to state house, how they feel and how they think.
As when they they outside, they think properly.
You see them like these are Pan-African.
But when they enter into the white I mean I mean into the state house, they change dramatically.
They become new version.
I don't know what is there inside our state houses.
Even leaders who have to say no, they fear to say no.
Maybe these people I mean these military bases that are surrounding them and they fear that.
So, family brothers and sisters, if you have something to share with me, please do so through the comment section.
And if you're new here, make sure that you join this big family of Make Africa Great by subscribing and um clicking on the bell so that you can get notification whenever I approach this get coming out public.
Um and also you may share this video to fellow Africans here in the continent and to those who are in the diaspora. We love our people. We love Africans, but we have to defend them.
We have to speak out, defend them. We cannot sell out our continent, our people, our countries because of money.
If America cannot accept Ebola, why we Africans will accept Ebola?
So, make sure that you like the video.
Thank you.
>> [music] >> Thank you, Africa.
Thank you, Africa.
Thank you, Africa.
