Photoshop's Remove Tool feature automatically detects and removes general distractions from images by scanning the photo, categorizing unwanted elements (such as ground features, poles, spots, and dust), and allowing users to selectively remove or preserve specific distractions through a color-coded list before applying the removal in a single click, with all edits applied on a separate layer to preserve the original image.

(NEW!) One Click to Remove General Distractions | Photoshop
Added:I downloaded this photo from the link in the description and opened it in Photoshop. The photo is totally fine as is, but if you want to clean it up a little bit, you could use the recently released feature in the remove tool that removes general distractions. So, activate the remove tool and before you do anything, go to the options bar and ensure that create new layer is checked unless you want your edits to happen on the original layer.
Also, if you have multiple layers, you might want to check sample all layers.
Next, set the mode to auto, click find distractions, and I've already covered these two, people and wires and cables, in previous videos linked in the description. But today, we're focusing on the newest addition, general distractions. Click find, wait for it to process, and done. Photoshop [clears throat] highlighted everything that it thinks is a distraction. Don't apply it yet though, because under find distractions, you'll see a color-coded list of distractions. Each one of them is highlighted on the canvas with a matching overlay, and you can click on the color box if you want to change the color. Now, click here to deselect them all, and let's go over them one by one.
First one is called ground features, and this is going to remove these two highlighted areas. Cool. Let's check the next one. Identified objects. Maybe I want to keep that, so I'll uncheck it.
Moving on to the next one, poles. Nah, I don't want to remove those. Next, spots and dust. Yes, let's remove them, but I want to keep this area. So, with the remove tool still activated, I'll use the left and right square bracket keys to resize the brush tip. Hold down Alt or Option, and paint over it to deselect it. Great. I'll speed through the rest of the distractions, and now we're ready. Click apply, and the highlighted distractions are removed instantly. This is before, and this is after. And all the edits are happening on a separate layer.
And if the tool missed a spot, you can always highlight it manually using the remove tool. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try it on my own workspace to clean up all of these distractions on my desk. It's been a while since I
