[00:00:07]Given is an isosceles triangle, and this triangle is divided into two smaller triangles.

[00:00:16]We know that one of the two smaller triangles is an isosceles triangle as well, and we know that this angle is equal to 75° and we are going to calculate this angle alpha.

[00:00:35]Okay, in the first step, we label the vertices of the triangles with A, B, C, and D.

[00:00:44]Triangle ABD is an isosceles triangle, and in an isosceles triangle, the base angles are equal.

[00:00:55]AB and BD have the same lengths, so the base angles are at A and D, and this means that the angle at D is equal to alpha as well.

[00:02:06]Now, we subtract 75° from both sides of this equation. This means that three times alpha is equal to 105°, and finally, we can divide both sides of this equation by three, so alpha is equal to 35°.
