Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
Shh. Sorry. Sorry. Okay.
Guys. Guys. Guys.
Guys. Guys. Okay. Um So >> [clears throat] >> This is This is sports This is basketball, right? You know basketball?
I may have told I may have told Century that we'd have a completed game. Okay, here's where I have to stop the video.
Um Prime's in charge of explaining at this event and the next 5 minutes are incomprehensible.
So here's basically what's going on, okay? We had a super awesome event with Century hosted at the Chase Center.
Shoutout Golden State Warriors. And we were able to do potentially the first, I don't actually know, uh basically a genetic mob programming experience. Effectively, what happened was everyone in the audience, we were all working on one game together, a basketball game. Um one thing I think I was a little short-sighted on in preparing for this event was the complete and utter lack of ball knowing out in the audience. That was fine.
You'll see we kind of we still still managed to get past that, still have a good experience. But effectively, what's going to happen is we built a little system.
The audience they scan a little QR code.
They get greeted with a prompt window, which is apparently the interface for every single application in the entire world right now, including ours. So what do we do with that prompt window? Uh the audience can type in the improvements they want to the game. We broke them up into a few different groups. They're working on different stuff. But effectively, we take all of their prompts. We smoosh that into one giant super prompt. We send that super prompt to the LLMs. The LLMs say, "Okie dokie, I can make code for that." And then we live reload the game right in front of them. And I would say some hilarity ensues. So, it's a little bit of the background. Thank you so much Century for having us and for hosting this event. And uh yeah, I hope you guys enjoy the event retroactively, if you will.
That's probably the right word. I get to use big words like that around Prime all the time, and he just nods and smiles.
So, anyways, to the video.
Okay, so like very simple, we we need we need five teams. Just like basketball. I mean, you guys are all really smart, right? Group number one right here is going to take care of game state play.
So, we're talking about scoring and everything. You you three you three, okay? You you do you three rows right here. You're the top option, gameplay.
Don't go to game play. I need my Don't You're not that team, okay? You're not that guy, pal. Um I just want them to No mistakes. Make it secure. No mistakes. You're a very fun basketball player and you're very handsome and you're going to make everyone handsome and and fantastic. What is Prime saying?
What is he saying? Group number two, you're two. You're on offense. Oh my gosh, everyone loves offense, right? All four rows. So, you guys join offense.
You look offensive. You know you know what you're doing. You guys just determine how offense looks. I don't know what that means, but I need you guys to know what it means. Number three, right over here. You guys are going to be in charge of defense. And then back here, we've got gameplay visual effects. You guys are important.
Everybody knows you need to have modern graphics. This is the final group, okay?
You're the most important back here. Oh, you're pounding these. You got to be careful. Actually, you guys ready for this. You guys get to make up all the fun stuff. I need some prompts. I need some prompts. Hello, I need some I see your phone out. LET'S SKIP THE PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS. NEXT TIME WE'RE DOING LOGIN. AND IT'S GOING TO BE ON YOUR CLAUDE PRO Max and you're going to get perma banned if we see anything bad here. Rewrite it in Zig. Oh, I hope it rejects this. That's That's trademarked material. YOU CAN'T DO THAT. SO, HERE'S WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. After your team submits it, I'm going to close a particular round. In this case, we're closing the round for gameplay state machine. We close the round, we've got nine submissions. We send this to the generator, okay? We get back a new plan.
Boom, we're executing gameplay state machine, the new updates.
>> You must kick the ball into the goal, and you can always kick it out.
>> Okay, you know, the revolutionaries out here, they're coming up with new ideas, new ways to innovate, and that was innovative.
>> Make no mistakes. Thank you. Finally, someone giving us some actual prompts for this game. Okay, so now, we're here.
We've executed some of them. This offense should reward positioning and lane changes. That's actually a good idea. I need you guys to all lock in.
Okay, and start writing in some good prompts to help us out here, cuz otherwise, Kramer is going to come back, and he's going to find out that all we've been doing is reading how to play basketball for dummies.
>> Visual effects teams, did anyone take care of the like the three-point line right there? I'm very concerned about the results. I left a few easy ones for you.
>> Can someone explain to me what this device does? I don't know much about basketball, but I know there's not a that. That is not a that's not a thing.
For sure, you're the you're the right person.
>> I already got the ball, so you got to defense, defense.
Oh my gosh, you somehow got the BALL BACK. THE DASH. OH, LOOK AT THAT. OH, I'M JUST we got a new change. Updated the state. That's good. THAT'S GOOD, GUYS. THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S GOOD. We're getting something.
>> Okay, shoot the ball with an AK-47. Who did that? OKAY, SOME OKAY, SOME OF THEM were good suggestions, all right? That's better than round one for us, okay? And as I mentioned, we got some less than helpful prompts, but we were able to make a lot of progress. We had people start playing the game. We had people laughing, giggling, having a good grand old time. Uh defense, do we have anything going on right now with defense? Are we getting any updates here? Okay, one group is asking for smaller basketballs, one group is asking for bigger basketballs.
>> [laughter] >> We're going to We're just going to see what happens here. We're going to close this and start a new submission. All right, what do we have going on for gameplay state? Make no mistakes. Make sure the place say say say your state layer slow. [laughter] Guys, we already did that. The game's in JavaScript.
The scoreboard doesn't work. Hello?
Anybody out there? WE GOT TO DO CIRCLE.
ALL RIGHT, GUYS.
>> [applause] >> VISUAL EFFECTS TEAM, LET'S GO. LET'S GO, visual effects team. Oh my god, THIS IS SO COOL. WHO PUT THE CIRCLE IN? WHOSE IDEA WAS THE CIRCLE? Was that special teams? What does the circle do?
>> Yeah. You just can't GO INTO IT. OKAY.
WE FIGURED IT OUT.
>> AS I MENTIONED, SOME PEOPLE'S prompts a little bit more helpful than others, right? Uh but that's okay.
Uh we still were having a good time, as you can see probably uh maybe right here. Uh the game's updating. Things are happening on the screen. Things are getting exciting. Visual effects, let's see what you guys have been up to. Add us up. Oh, prime. Oh, I'm excited. I'm excited.
>> unlimited growth hack. It's an unlimited growth hack. The player without the ball should have double the speed. Thank you.
That's an actual gameplay situation here. I love this.
>> Finally, someone helping us out here.
Steal the basket to prevent goals.
That's just basketball.
>> No, like that's not actually No, no, no, no. STEAL THE BASKET. OH, I PUT [laughter] THE WORD BALL IN THERE.
THAT'S not That's not the same at all.
>> Oh, I love that. I love that. Defense, I love where your head's at. We're going to get those We're going to get those moving here. New New power-ups?
New power-ups? Everyone's open again.
They can send in another round of prompts. You've been seeing the amazing progress at Oh, the scoreboard is kind of looking That's kind of looking nice.
I see a few changes there. Oh, it's who's possessing the ball.
>> That's great That's good.
>> Oh, tip-off. That's good stuff.
>> Too far to steal. That's That's a debug menu. Who did that? That's good. That's good right there.
>> Is it going in every time now? Did someone say make it in every single time we shoot? The cam The camera IS SHAKING?
OH, LOOK AT THAT. SPECIAL EFFECTS.
>> BRO. OH.
AAA GRAPHICS?
WHAT? CONFETTI?
CONFETTI, GUYS. THAT IS a basketball.
Who's confetti? WHO'S CONFETTI?
YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL TEAMS OR VISUAL EFFECTS. SO ANYWAYS, thanks everybody for trying out this crazy live coding experiment with us.
>> [applause] >> We'll we'll have the game ready for you guys to play at the end and thanks.
Don't tell Kramer that we did this here, okay? Thanks, bye. Yep. The game's really finished and everyone had a great time, right? Tell that to Kramer. Uh let's just say Century was not impressed. No, no, I'm just kidding. We all had a great time and it was really cool trying out some different stuff, playing around with audience participation live, working on an interesting experiment where we were able to see can we prompt the prompters?
How does that work? Um note to self, prompting the prompters is a little tougher when they're adversarial. So hopefully you guys enjoyed the event if you were there or enjoyed watching back the video. We have some vlogs and stuff on Terminal's channel if you want to check those out just about hanging out on the week and everything and I hope you enjoyed this little event and a little peek into some of the stuff that we're trying out.
Thanks everybody for watching and I'll see you guys later. Bye.
