This analysis sharply exposes how athletes exploit biological windows to bypass anti-doping measures, revealing the systemic gap between regulatory oversight and pharmacological reality. It serves as a necessary reality check on the chemical trade-offs often hidden behind elite competitive performance.

CrossFit Athlete Caught Using SteroidsAdded:
Matt Fraser was on Joe Rogan and he popularized the entire idea of sleep being a performance enhancing drug.
>> reading the stats of like you sleep better after a sauna if you do it at night and then it like boosts your natural HGH.
>> Mhm. And I was like, "I'm sold. Anything Anything to help that."
>> In some way, shape, or form, this is going to kind of be what the entire video is about.
>> Optimizing my sleep schedule, like bringing in all these tools to help me get better sleep.
>> Cuz when you sleep, a lot of stuff happens and one of those things is that your body will create human growth hormone. When I'm training and competing, I'm sleeping minimum 10 hours. Babies sleep like 18 hours a day.
That's because they're growing. The more they sleep, the more they grow. But everyone watching this video knows what happens when you don't sleep long enough. At least you felt it. You get fatter, your cortisol goes up. Your body goes through sleep cycles. The more sleep cycles you go through, the more your pituitary gland is going to pump HGH into that body of yours.
>> What about growth hormone release? When does that occur during sleep?
>> So, growth hormone release happens all day long and all night long, but the deep slow wave sleep that you get in the very first sleep cycle, um is when you get a big bolus of growth hormone release and in men and women equally.
And if you miss that first deep slow wave sleep period, you also miss that big bolus of growth hormone release. The athlete in question there is Nico Matseradze.
>> Oh my god.
>> I think that's how you say it. But also it does say Nico and it says Nico. And then under 10 months ago, Adrian Mundwiler was on Coffee Pods and Wods and he talked about an incredibly interesting story where Nico is at a training camp and they found some stuff in a fridge at a house that he was staying at. Let's see your right now.
>> Yesterday we had done the gym, we had like a a summer party. Yeah, this person came like somehow I I I catch the conversation and I was like, "What?" And then I got the whole story and the story is I think it was middle of July. The program had a elite camp here in Mallorca. They were renting a place from that person. So, that person uh was gone for holidays and they rented her place so John rented the place for two of the athletes.
>> Now, Adrian has been to the CrossFit Games four times.
>> Wow.
>> And I actually think we're going to talk about Matt Fraser one more time. He brought up how that dude was one of the dudes who he was afraid of as a competitor. I don't remember the sentiment of it, but I do believe it had to do with something about his physique cuz he's got a great physique. We're not here to talk about Adrian's physique, we're here to talk about what he's observing in this situation in relation to Nico and this training camp party.
>> And then this person came home from holidays and apparently she came home and she opened the fridge and then she she saw like a paper and she could feel okay, there's something wrong. So she opened the paper and it was a glass bottle what said on it growth hormones.
So >> [laughter] >> I just like how Peter cracks up. If you've watched any of my videos on peptides, you'll understand they're very fragile. When you get them shipped to you, often times they're in a black container. So you get them in this powdery better reconstitute it with a water. Jump scare, I've got my shirt off. If you're not a competitive athlete and you're looking to heal yourself up, you want to pick up some BPC 157, some TB 500, go on over to Biomax Peptides.
Use code Hiller at checkout, it's going to give you free shipping. I got videos on Retatide, I got videos on all those things I just mentioned. I'm currently running GHK-Cu and I'm about to jump back on Melanotan. So if I get shades darker, you'll know why that's happening. I've been back on Retatide for like 5 weeks now and I've already felt myself slim down, it's crazy.
Biomaxpeptides.com.
Once you reconstitute it, you're going to prolong the life of the peptide or the HGH in this instance by keeping it in the fridge. So it tracks that you're going to find it in a bag in a fridge and we're off to the races. So someone rented the house off like a someone who lives on the island and when they when the person who owns the house came back, they opened the fridge, there was an envelope in the fridge and they were like, that's weird.
Lifted that realizes something in it, opened it and it was HGH inside the envelope, a bottle like a vial of steroids basically.
Yes, two two athletes at her place. So you can see where this is going, right?
We're essentially the mice. Adrian's got the cheese and we're the mice and we're just seeing there's two athletes. Who are the two athletes? How many people are at the camp?
I don't know, like six, five, six. Oh, wow. Okay, so everyone's in this photo then. Let me just see if I can open it up. Well, I'm I'm going to tell you like I will tell you who it was. What I really liked about this segment from about 9, 10 months ago is that Adrian just says it. It's one of those deals where I sit here in this chair and I know everything. I know who's taken what, I know who has said what about who has taken those things, but I'm not ratting them out. I'm like an encyclopedia of who has done what and I just want to continue to add to that encyclopedia, but Adrian's telling us that this athlete has used this thing at this point in time so we can chat about it.
>> Just I finish the story as you understand because Yiannis a massive guy, uh, but I just like I said he's yeah, yeah, he's massive, but he takes his very seriously his nutrition and everything. And then I don't know. I'm just telling you what the story and you will understand the story. Remember there were two people in the house, narrowed it down to the two people in the center of that photo. Adrian says, "I nope, it's not the dude you think it was based upon the size of the dude."
>> Anyway, so what this girl did, uh, of course she sent a picture, uh, to John and was like, "What's going on? I'm coming home and I'm finding this in my fridge."
Uh, and I she was actually really mad and >> I think that's John Singleton, the dude who runs the program. But she said, "This made me very sad to see that I open my home for two athletes, high level athletes, let them stay at my home and then I come home and in the fridge I find I find drugs." Yeah, that would be pretty interesting. Now, they're not as taboo in my world, but for a lot of athletes, especially those who are going to be competing at these training camps, that might as well be a crucifix in the athlete's a vampire. Opens the fridge and it's just like you get burned by having seen the sight of the crucifix sitting there in your fridge and the crucifix is a bottle of HGH. I swear to you they think that now because they were in the presence of it or maybe that thing was in their fridge, the whole fridge is contaminated. Now they got to throw out the whole fridge. That's how seriously a lot of the athletes take performance-enhancing drugs and for good reason. When you hear stuff about tainted meat, when you hear I left my bottle of pre-workout next to another bottle of pre-workout, so it must have contaminated mine. When you hear I was making love with my husband and I got it secondhand from him and he was the one using MK-677 ibutamoren. It's going to cause mass amounts of panic and neuroticism among athletes who actually take this seriously. So yeah, she has a good reason to freak out.
>> Apparently his John's reaction was like That's ridiculous.
>> Oh well. Uh and then he sent and this is like what blows my mind. Oh like not that now, but the after. So apparently then he sent the screenshot of the picture and sent it that to this Nika guy and his response was Oh yeah, this is from my friend. Oldest play in the book. My dog ate my homework. You don't even have a dog.
>> So apparently they were staying another guy. He was just there for visiting or for holidays. Uh she didn't know about it, but apparently he had a friend over.
>> Dude, this is also pretty good. Hey, you can stay in my house, but also it's not just you and the other athlete for this camp. We're going to bring in this third guy. She's so upset about the freaking HGH in the fridge that she's not even upset about the third individual staying in her house that she had no idea about.
>> I saw the friend because he came to the gym. He didn't train. He just watched. I think he had a hangover because they were actually partying the day before. I saw the friend and you can even see on his Instagram he posted some pictures of of him as well. The friend looks like he has never touched a dumbbell in his life. Now here's the thing about HGH. It doesn't really make you look like you've used performance-enhancing drugs. I mean, I got a couple of things from Nika here. Here's something from 2021 where he's hitting a clean and jerk PR at 308 lb, which isn't anything crazy. I think it's listed in kilograms and it looks like the jerk is very challenging. And sorry, that clean and jerk was from 2022, which makes this snatch in 2025 even more impressive because he's hitting a snatch at like 275 lb, just 30 lb less than that clean and jerk. And just 3 years later, I made a comment on the most recent French Throwdown, the competition where Nico just qualified.
Nico just qualified for the CrossFit Games. What is it, Nico or Nico? And as you catch like certain glimpse of him in the middle of the floor, he just has this thickness to him, which is entirely crazy considering just 4 or 5 years ago, this is a picture from 2021. This is what he looked like. He has these these slabs of muscle hanging off his back.
And I know I talked about just now how HGH isn't going to make you look like a rockstar. It's a recovery drug. At the beginning of the video, I talked about sleep. And sleep is where you're going to recover. And you're going to recover because that's where you're going to go through a bunch of your sleep cycles, which is where you're going to start pumping out that growth hormone, human growth hormone. They call it the fountain of youth drug. And celebrities are very well known for using human growth hormone. It increases the collagen in your skin. It makes your skin look nicer. It makes your hair grow faster and better and your nails. That's actually how you know it's working. like an IGF-1 or an HGH, if your nails start growing like crazy and your hair starts growing quicker, it means that the stuff that you're using isn't bunk. Cuz other than that, it's not like using a testosterone where it's like, "Dang, look at my muscles. I'm getting all veiny and stuff. Oh, it's so good." You got to kind of rely on stuff like, "Oh, my hands feel a little bit numb." Like if I keep my hands above my head a little bit too long, your hands will start to feel like there's a like you know when you when you eat something like a pineapple and your tongue gets fuzzy. Or if you just sit on your hand and your hand goes numb, you'll get that when you start using HGH in your appendages, like the the the periphery parts, like your feet and your hands. A little bit of water retention, increased blood pressure. And HGH is a pretty scary thing if you want to be honest.
Because if you don't use the stuff right, and if you aren't really careful with your diet, it's going to completely mess up your ability to kind of work with carbohydrates, and it can make you super insulin resistant. But anyway, >> And that was the last thing I heard. And so, what blows my mind, or I don't understand, is John Gräf's disinformation. The only thing he does is asking the guy, "Hey, is this your drugs?" The guy says, "No, it's by of my friend." Like, of course, what do you expect? Do you expect him to say, "Yes, it's mine"? And then, apparently, the the case is done, and everything is fine, and we just keep doing what we're doing.
>> I got to give a little bit of grace to John here cuz if CrossFit can't catch these people, and water doesn't catch these people, how is he supposed to do anything and just take someone's word for it? But then you got this. I don't know, maybe John is a bit naive because John was also so naive to believe Hinrik. I don't know if you remember Hinrik. He was a guy from Iceland. He got banned by drugs. Totally crazy guy.
>> might get banned again.
Yeah, yeah. So, he So, when he got his ban over, John believed him because he he Hinrik told him, "No, no, I'm not on drugs anymore. I'm clean." John believed him. "I'm going to coach you." And I think a few months later he got banned with drugs again. So, I don't know if John is just very naive with this topic.
Apparently, he just now, okay, believes this guy that he was from his friend who has never touched a dumbbell before, never trained or he looks like he's never trained in his life before. And everything is fine, and we keep going what we're doing. I should also rewind a little bit. We should talk about this friend. Have you made it this far and you're not subscribed to the YouTube channel? What's wrong with you? Press the button. Subscribe to the YouTube channel. I hate when I hear that people might be using performance-enhancing drugs, but they're not going to work out, and they also spent the night previous partying. So, you're going to do something that isn't the greatest for your body. You're going to use and abuse performance-enhancing drugs, but then you're going to double up, and you're going to be partying. It doesn't make any sense. People are so stupid. So, what Anik essentially is doing here is telling his coach here that his friend is a complete The dude doesn't work out, he parties his face off, and he's using drugs. However, they are talking about this athlete, Hinrik. And we're talking about how naive John may be. Now, the first time that he tested positive is because he refused to take a drug test, and I think, if I recall correctly, it was something like he thought he was being targeted by CrossFit. This is way long ago and he goes, "Hey, I won't take this drug test.
This is unfair." So, they gave him a 2-year ban. Then, they tested him after he was done with that 2-year ban and he tested positive for a bunch of SARMs and red 140 was the one if I'm not mistaken.
So, Mr. I cried wolf, this is unfair, there's no drugs being taken tested positive for drugs and then he comes back again and Singleton's like, "Oh, I believe you. I believe you. I believe you."
And that's not good precedent for what's going on right here with Nico Nico. Now, let's take it this way. Let's go back to the red flags.
The Nico guy performed very well, a bit out of nowhere. Like I said, he was all weekend long around in the top three at France Throwdown and he only didn't qualify to the games because he messed up the sandbag in that last event.
>> There's also speculation that he specifically messed up the sandbag to avoid needing to be tested as he would have then qualified to go to the games and yes, they test those people. And in about 14 seconds, I'll attest more about HGH and testing stuff.
>> Also, something we talked before, if you get tested at a competition and you know you're in a good shape and you know they test at the competition, you're not going to show up on positive. And also, another thing I learned uh or I researched uh I actually know that from Hiller that HGH has a very short detective rate. My brother, you don't understand how short the detection rate of HGH is. It's like 2-4 hours is the half-life of human growth hormone. And I mean, it's already inside of you, very much like testosterone. When these two things, testosterone and human growth hormone, you never see anybody test positive for those things cuz you got to specifically be looking for those things and it's very expensive, upwards of $1,000 a test. So, in these events where they're paying out the champions $5,000, do you really think they're spending $1,000 for each of these divisions to test all of these people? The answer is simply no, they are not. And I'll tell you why they aren't. Because of that half-life, 2 to 4 hours. General consensus is that after 7 or 8 half-lives the drug is essentially completely undetectable by any sort of test you would do. So, multiply 4 hours, the long end of it, by 8, the longest amount of half-lives, and you got 32 hours, and then all of a sudden you're looking at, well, if I just don't take HGH for 2 days, even if they put me through the $1,000 test, they still won't be able to find it inside of me. And the reason someone like Nika O would want to take that thing to a training camp in the off-season because that's when you would want to be getting the most out of it, where you can be beating yourself to a bloody pulp doing a whole bunch of stuff at a camp like that, and you're also needing to use it more frequently. The thing about a half-life is like every time you use it, it does one of these.
So, if you have something with a 7-day half-life, you basically have to take it once every 7 days. And what I'm telling you is that because the half-life is so short, 2 or 4 hours, you're wanting to take this thing more than once a day.
So, a lot of people do it like morning and evening. And the reason you do that is because it most basically mimics the sleep thing, which is what we started this thing off with. When you sleep, your body starts producing growth hormone. And if you're going to give yourself the fake stuff, you basically want to mimic what you would be doing with the real stuff. So, you take it when you wake up, you take it before you go to bed, and what it's going to do for you is it's going to allow you to recover quicker, the same exact thing that happens when you sleep more. You hear about people like Brooke Wells who sleep 12 hours a day. It's like, well, why do you think she's so fit? Well, because she's producing a whole bunch of growth hormone in those sleep cycles, and because she's recovering better than everybody. She's also got nice skin, doesn't she? Beautiful hair from Brooke Wells. All things that happen when you sleep more. You're still here and you haven't subscribed? Or you have? And if that's you, then thank you. But if you haven't, do it now. And on the other side of the pendulum, it's the same thing that I would tell people who would show up to the 5:00 a.m. class. If you're not going to bed at 8:00 you'd probably be better served if you could just show up at 11:00. There is no bigger lever to pull towards your fitness than an extra hour or two of sleep. You want to lose weight, sleep more. You want to build more muscle, sleep more. You want to have less injuries, sleep more. Why are you going to have less injuries? Well, because you're going to create all of the little collagen and stuff that's going to help you from falling apart when you collapse under a 308 clean, right, Nika? And like a lot of this stuff, it just allows you to do more. You do more, you recover faster, it compounds, and you're just making all of this progress much quicker than normal. And at somewhere in here, Adrian talked about how Nika, oh, kind of came out of nowhere, progressed to the point where it's like, "Wow, how did this guy almost qualify? Who is this dude?"
And this story does not prove anything.
CrossFit can't retroactively say, "Hey, we heard that you had some HGH at this thing for we heard from this podcast from this guy." That's not the way it works. They got to catch him with the stuff in there. But very much like peptides, there's almost like no likelihood that they do catch you with it. The reason that they catch people with the SARMs, so like the RAD140s and the GW501516, is because as you ingest them, they take time to like evaporate. You have all those metabolites, and then they got to go to the rather systems, and it's not in and out of the body the same way. You can basically catch a RAD140 3 to 4 months after you've taken it. Science on those half-lives is so recent that you don't really know, so it could be 8 to 12 months, which is why someone would be have to be completely shocked. It's like, "What? What? I took that when I was 12." It's like, it doesn't matter.
Do I think Nico Amiazarati took this stuff? Yeah, I do. Do I think other people likely use this stuff and get away with it? Absa-freaking-lutely. Do I think that it's probably the most dangerous thing that you could be using because you're going to end up with type 2 diabetes? Yeah, that too. So, if you got to this point of this video and you thought, "Why wouldn't I be using uh HGH?" It's well, because you probably don't know how to use it, and you probably also don't want to be injecting insulin for the rest of your life.
That's all I got to say about that.
Congratulations, go to the CrossFit Games, Nika. I'm sure that it was just your friend who is using that stuff on that weekend, although it doesn't look like he worked out a day in his life and he was out drinking the night before out.
