Heat and air quality concerns for southern Arizona

[00:00:09]So we'll steer clear of that record of 105 for today, but we want to be the first to alert you that we do have an air quality alert. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality alert because of elevated ozone in the air, which is pretty common when we start to warm up and we don't have much air flow. So if you are somebody who's sensitive to that, you want to stay indoors as much as possible and run the AC. You're probably already doing that given the triple digit heat, but the second half of the work week we do cool back down to the mid to upper 90s. We'll have a bit more air moving through, so I doubt we're going to have another one of those air quality alerts, at least not due to ozone, but do keep it that in mind if you're somebody who's particularly sensitive. Maybe you have a heart condition or lung condition, you definitely want to make sure you're staying indoors. And when you're out and about in your vehicle, make sure you push that little button to circulate the air inside. You don't want to draw it from outside in.
