[00:02:31]Mayday. Mayday. [laughter] And uh it is a nice day here at the Beaver Lodge. Uh a little grayish, but I can't actually call it a gray day.

[00:02:44]Probably more than cloudy. More cloudy.

[00:02:46]Uh cuz clouds are thin enough that you can actually see the light behind it making an effort. Actually, there's a little gap in the clouds starting just right now where the sun is popping up to say hello just as we're starting the show. Oh, I just made a rhyme. I'm a poet and I didn't know it. Oh, I just did it again. There you go. [laughter] Uh, so yeah, beautiful day here at the Be Lodge. Did get to play some tennis yesterday. Had a very close match. Lost it in the end. Uh, but uh had some good fight. There was twice where I was down by three games and managed to catch up.

[00:03:19]But then after having done all the work to catch up, then it was sort of like I I I took a moment to breathe and then well, my opponent took advantage of that. So, so I ended up losing the game.

[00:03:32]Uh but I put up a good fight and uh again made me run uh for a good amount of time and uh hopefully it will affect the poundage this morning. I was down one extra pound uh more than I've seen normally. So, yay. Um I'm very happy about that.

[00:03:52][laughter] Uh and uh so yeah, hopefully more tennis today. I would play every day if I could. Uh if I could find a willing partner every day. So hopefully somebody will take me up on my offer and uh again, somebody will put a rack in my hand and make me run and help me lose weight and have some fun along the way.

[00:04:37]Uh, how's your mental health today, Damn fam? I am um uh personally good spirits. Uh, I'm a little uh what's the word? Um, I I think I'm slightly split personality today, if one uh could call it that, or mixed mood. Uh uh I my my internal and natural setting for happiness and optimism is there. And uh I'm waking up uh today feeling fine and happy and wanting to take on the day and full of him and vigor and all that good and stuff. Uh or piss and vinegar, one one or the other. [laughter] But um there's there's some news that we're going to talk a little bit about today.

[00:05:35]Uh and that that has me a little concerned.

[00:05:41]has be little concerned and in one case um [clears throat] disturbed with an undercurrent of it's kind of anger.

[00:05:57]Uh but it's at it's a whole other level because there is a um it involves a level of negligence and utter sloppiness and just depraved indifference uh for the safety and security of others.

[00:06:17]um that you can't um it's it's like bewildered anger because it's definitely more than consternation.

[00:06:31][laughter] I'll tell you that. Uh so yeah, I'm I'm having um a weird weird mixed feelings because the stuff that is c causing the more than consternation within me is stuff that should just not be happening under any circumstance.

[00:06:50]There's no excuse whatsoever. And it's very very very very very very bad. And uh if there w if there was such thing as instant justice, a lot of heads would be rolling right now and deservedly so.

[00:07:13]Uh the thing that I'm talking to you about kids and cubs is something I only have sparse details about. uh and I'll be picking up some information here and there uh because it is something that is unfolding uh as we speak and of course uh again when a scandal hits especially one of seismic proportions uh like this one is again whatever you hear in the first 48 to 72 hours usually for domestic consumption only uh and depending whatever your core constituency is uh And uh probably a lot of um incomplete, incorrect, either by accident or deliberate information uh because it's not all there or because people are making assumptions or filling in the blanks on purpose because people have a vested interest in uh another narrative can hold in being the one that we compare all uh emerging information afterwards to uh rather than the actual story.

[00:08:21]But according uh and it was through our friends at the breakdown Alberta uh that we first saw any hint of this. So uh I'm going to go there at the moment and uh take a take a look because there might have been some developments uh since last night. Um but um also um because it'll be there somewhat in a chronological order.

[00:08:59]Um so let's see here. Um I'm trying to find a good place to start.

[00:09:13]Um because let's just put it this way.

[00:09:17]Uh there is a lot of um uh [sighs] stories going on in Alberta [laughter] at the moment. Uh and uh um it's hard to sift through the threads, right? I mean, you got the whole AHS thing and you got all the stuff with Sam Ra uh and and there are various threads in there in terms of uh you know uh contracts uh for surgeries and then Tylenaut and then um laws perhaps having been changed to make things more favorable uh for certain things. Uh there's just uh uh skyboxes, golden cats, um sevenst star hotel stays for Danielle Smith, um you name it. Uh but uh under current there's also it seems here that uh the western according to the breakdown wondering if the western standard is trolling uh um minister Dreene uh because there are some photos of him that the western standard has posted uh of him taking a video call on top of a cooler and there was a healthy amount of liquor in the unccropped background.

[00:10:44]uh for those uh who know uh the backstory uh a little bit uh with uh Mr. Dasheen.

[00:10:57]Uh I believe uh there had uh been an incident in the relatively recent past uh that uh involved him uh involved allegations of heavy drinking at the legislature.

[00:11:18]Multiple staffers had alleged that Drean had frequently drank in his office during 2019 and 2020 with behavior ranging from quote a few drinks to at times being very sloppy and locking doors.

[00:11:32]Um so yeah uh these are pictures uh from uh 2021 uh is using to talk about him today in that uh but the uh thing the thing is that um well if you are on an elector's list uh there's a lot of very personal information of yours uh on that list and that list is very very very very carefully managed and cared for and there are very very very strict rules on who acts has access to that information and what it is that they can do with it.

[00:12:21]Now of course for the purposes of doing their business political parties do get access to that list but again there are very very very strict conditions that they absolutely must adhere to in order to be able to have access to that list so that they can do the things that political parties do.

[00:12:42]It would appear that um there was a oh to be kind a lack of care applied when it comes uh to these lists.

[00:13:01]uh we saw on the page of Thomas Lesek who is one of the or the face even though it's not just him of the Forever Canadian campaign uh put out something yesterday that said uh around uh 12:15 a.m. It says here, April 30th.

[00:13:23]Breaking news. Forever Canadian just learned and confirmed that Alberta's list of electors containing everyone's personal information was made available to the separatists. This is illegal, risks public safety, and creates an uneven playing field as we fight for Canada.

[00:13:40]Uh, okay.

[00:13:42]So, it seems uh that the separatist group who got a hold of the uh Alberta uh elections lesser got access to it somehow.

[00:13:58]Um, this is a, like I said, I cannot stress just how terrible this is. This is something that should never ever ever happen.

[00:14:26]Um, so, um, just going through. Sorry, kids and cubs. If I'm seeming seeming a little slow here, it's because, uh, there there's the whole feed and source, uh, from Thomas Lucas, and then there's, uh, the whole feed and source from the breakdown, and then there's also Kathleen Petty, uh, and Carrie Tate, and everybody that's looking into this. Uh so there is a lot going on here. Uh and it's um and it's all coming in very fast. So it's hard to uh um get a grasp uh of the entire situation here.

[00:15:12]Um of course that news provoked a uh from the breakdown a wait what? How did the separatists get provided Alberta's list of elections? um you have to uh that becomes the question, right? Um I'm looking here. Um okay. Uh later on, uh Thomas Luces came up with Forever Canadian just learned and confirmed that Alberta's list of electors contains everyone's personal information.

[00:15:48]Containing everyone's personal information was made available to the separatists. This is illegal. risk public safety and creates uneven playing fields as we fight for Canada. Okay. Uh that's how things started out. Uh and then uh when asked how did this happen, Mr. Lease said, "Good question. This not only tilts the playing field towards separatists again, but also puts a at risk multitude of Albertans. They now have everyone's contact information."

[00:16:14]Um there was a uh post that came out from uh David Parker who is one of the key figure heads on the other side and uh someone um given fines that he or groups that he's been associated with have been ordered to pay to elections Alberta. Uh someone who um flies a little too close to the sun when it comes to uh respecting electoral law and regulations. Let's just say uh he posted elections calibera just sent eight police officers to our centurion project meeting. That's where democracy is at in Alberta. So he's uh claiming this as some type of persecution. Uh but I have a feeling that elections Alberta doesn't send eight police officers uh to your organizations's meeting.

[00:17:07]If uh the problem with democracy going on at the moment is uh has elections Alberta at the source, right? That's where democracy is at at Alberta. But that's because you brought it there allegedly, sir. So don't come crying to us now. We got nothing for you.

[00:17:34]Uh then Mr. Kasik said, "In fighting for Canadian unity, Forever Canadian is up against the separatists. Alberta government enabling them influence and cash and now separatist armed with Alberta's list of electors giving them access to you uh that says, "Please support and donate. We need your help."

[00:17:50]Uh there was an article uh sort of preceding that uh from Don Brad uh asking because this is sort of the mood going on. We presented to you public polling information indicating that while Neni seems to be taking a hit and uh the UCP might be reelected today with an even bigger majority than it has right now which is completely inexplicable unless you were a political massochist. Uh why anyone would allow that to happen. Um they are already talking about uh the referendum being lost. at least Don Brad is in the Calgary Herald uh writing Alberta's separatist drive isn't really a fight for the future of Canada battle for the United Conservative Party. The latest polling firm from Janet Brown commissioned by the latest polling from Janet Brown commissioned by the CBC shows separatist support is stuck at 27% while 67% will vote against leaving Canada. The only income group with plurality support for separation. Here we go. 47% is people earning more than $150,000 who have trouble paying their bills.

[00:19:03]Uh I think we mentioned on a previous show that when we were talking about the difference between separatism in uh Quebec and separatism in Alberta that the Quebec one uh was uh after you know many years and centuries a history uh of having uh their language and culture devalued even an attempt at outright assimilation and still they survived and they are a pocket of French in all of the Americas uh along with Haiti. Uh but a pocket of French surrounded by a complete ocean uh of English and would be very easy for the language and the culture to be just completely subsumed and gone in a couple of generations versus um I don't like how my taxes are being collected or spent, right?

[00:19:59]Um, so yeah, it's more about grievance and money uh in Alberta than it is about identity and culture.

[00:20:08]Quote, uh, the article goes on, there's no evidence in this poll that general support for independence is above its usual level, just below 30%, except in one cal except in one category, UCP voters. 57% want separation, only 34% are against. That was evident from the reaction that I got at the UCP annual general meeting when over 85% of the room stood up and gave a standing ovation for Alberta independence says Jeffrey Wrath Council for the Alberta Prosperity sorry Al Alberta profidity peridity society and stay free Alberta Wrath had shouted out and a lawyer that I believe because he's council so lawyer I believe who's also in deep deep deep deep trouble uh with his uh uh provincial bar association if I'm not if I remember correctly. Wrath has shouted out the question and in return got a loud voice poll on how many members feel. That's where the real battle is inside the governing party. The referendum on October 19th won't shake Canada, but it could drive Alberta politics and policy into the 2027 general election. And then that's one of the reasons uh why uh even though numbers are not so good for an entry at the moment. The NDP might be believing that it has a chance because uh well first of all they didn't know uh when the when that polling came out that nobody knew that this was going to happen. This news was going to come out.

[00:21:25]That that will probably change the landscape a lot for Daniel Smith because I'm sure there's a lot of people out there uh who don't like liberals.

[00:21:35]and don't like equalization. Uh but like even less uh having uh their personal address leaked so that anyone and anybody can have it and uh call them up or even like show up at their door pressure them to vote a certain way.

[00:21:54]Maybe uh or maybe uh people who for uh whatever reason um really really really don't want uh their address to be publicly known like let's say people uh who have left uh violent uh domestic situations.

[00:22:17]Oh, that's out there now. If you're on the voters list in Alberta, uh your contact information is out there.

[00:22:24]Somebody didn't care about you enough to think about that before they gave access to this uh to all in sunundry. Seemingly uh things like this uh can change a dial uh relatively quickly and can change a public mood relatively quickly. Just ask Doug Ford.

[00:22:52]Wrath says of Premier Danielle Smith, "She knows that the vast majority of her membership supports Alberta independence. She's effectively a Federalist leading a party where a super majority of her members do not support federalism."

[00:23:03]Uh, I think there was somebody out there that said, you know, we need a separatist party and somebody said, we already have with UCB.

[00:23:12]Just saying. And yet they generally love Smith. quote, "A lot of people in Alberta think that Danielle is one of the best retail politicians that this province has ever seen. If she were to openly declare for independence, I'm sure people in the movement would be thrilled. I think that's a question for her. Even among our supporters, support for Danielle is very strong." But he suggests Smith also holds the separatists hostage. Quote, "Everybody knows that we don't have a choice because if NDP leader Nah Neni ever got elected, that would be the end of independence for the life of whatever government he was involved with, right?

[00:23:39]Yes. Yes. That's that's how it works.

[00:23:41]Same thing in Quebec, right? when that PKI doesn't win, but we accept the result anyway and we still don't try to rig the election.

[00:23:51]I mean, Alberta separatists, if you want to be like Quebec separatists, maybe you should start behaving like Quebec separatists. And the Quebec separatists have decided a long time ago that that they would behave in a manner that was more honorable because they wanted to show the people of Quebec how the country of Quebec would be governed.

[00:24:12]right now the way you guys are running stuff, it's amazing that you got even 27% voting saying expressing support for Alberta independence cuz uh uh the way you guys go about your business um that country would be a freaking mess.

[00:24:30]I don't think the United States would have to do a damn thing to try and annex you guys. You guys would just implode from inside.

[00:24:39]Um, you guys are bad at this, just in case you didn't know.

[00:24:48]Quote, "We all support Danielle and we're very grateful that she amended the Citizens Initiative Act to allow our petition to go forward in the face of what was a clear misinterpretation of the law by the courts of Alberta." No, it wasn't.

[00:24:59]No, it wasn't.

[00:25:01]Quote, "We're happy with where we're at.

[00:25:04]If the separatists were to win the referendum vote on October 19th, most will expect Smith to become a declared separatist leader and press for independence. That truly would be an event to shake Canada, but poll after poll shows it won't happen. And then we have treaty law that also says it won't happen. The more realistic question is what the separatists and Smith will do after Albertans reject the independence option. Smith would have to fight hard to keep them aboard the UCP. Her worst nightmare is the rise of a separatist party that would steal enough support from the UCP to elect the new Democrats.

[00:25:33]She'd walk that tight rope for a full year after the referendum until the provincial vote in October 2027 if she doesn't go early. The premier has options, of course. She could always call an earlier election to head off a new opponent. I asked Wrath if his movement would build a new party similar to Quebec's pybeeka to institutionalize the separatist cause on the provincial scene. He said, quote, we have contingency plans on top of contingency plans, but we're not prepared to release them or comment on them. Quote, we're in a very fluid situation. I don't think it helps anybody to speculate on what might happen. We're focused on winning the referendum. The breakup on the right is just getting started. We haven't seen anything yet. And that's also probably happening happening federally as well.

[00:26:12]Uh because the the whole reason that the right united federally was so that they could defeat the liberals. And uh while uh Harper uh did it um during the time uh that he was a prime minister, he got one majority out of his uh five attempts uh at uh a general election. Uh the first he lost to Paul Martin. The second uh he won with an asterisk uh by cheating. His party had to plead guilty in court to that while of course ironically running on on accountability.

[00:26:49]uh then got another minority, finally got his majority and did so well with his majority uh that uh the Canadians uh after one Harper majority term, although three Harper terms, uh decided that they were going to take the party that was in third place, the Liberals, and elevate them to first place and give them a majority. And the Conservatives have not won an election since.

[00:27:13]Harper lost, Shear lost, O2 lost.

[00:27:19]And Podv lost and POV did only lose the election, he lost a seat. And yet the father mucker won't go away. Um, but hey, and with nobody apparently uh seemingly waiting in the wings and those who were waiting in the wings, as we can tell by their activity, people like Jason Kenny, uh, well, um, gee, Jason Kenny, uh, the man who did not have one single ministerial portfolio in the entire time he was in Ottawa that he completed with success um, and then milked us of our public dollars for a very, very long time while he ran to unite the right seat in Ottawa and doing no real constituency work and then went to Alberta uh and then had a whole RCP investigation looking into his leadership run currently had some uh interesting things that were done uh to secure him. the leadership is a sure sure thing and it was not needed but they did it anyway because well corruption and cheating allegedly uh is in the conservative DNA uh and then became premier and was so good at the job uh that he got kicked out of his job as premier even though he had a jity.

[00:28:39]This man, this man with an incredible uh just as an incredible uh level of uh failure, spectacular public failure and lack of achievement as POV has is the person one of the people being touted as a star that could potentially take over the Conservative party. Um, yeah, the pool isn't very very deep and and only in conservative land could a man uh with uh the incredible record of uh achievement that Jason Kenny has still 20some years later after he's been on the scene with all his accumulated failures be viewing viewed and talked about as a potential competent next leader of a party. Meanwhile, you have Andrew Shear um described uh by someone as a uh well Andrew Shear out there still uh promoting Pia Palev because he's the only person Palv trusts because well Andrew Shear is also another failed leader. Um, of course, then you get to the situation, I think, as was uh um mentioned by uh Bob Fe of a failed leader promoting a failing leader as your credible option as the next government and waiting.

[00:30:03]Yeah, things are going really well with the conservators right now federally. Um things are not going well with the conservatives in Ontario with Doug Ford.

[00:30:12]Uh this might be the beginning of things really not going well uh for the conservatives in Alberta.

[00:30:20]Please may it be so because they are really bad. Um then uh Mr. Lukes stated, "Now that separatists have access to the voters list containing contact information and the address of every Albertan, they set up an internal search engine for looking up Albertans. This unprecedented illegal leak aimed at helping them win the referendum puts Albertans at risk. So they took that information and then they made a database so that everybody could be looked up."

[00:30:56]M uh someone asks Alberta's list of electors implies the official list by elections Alberta not the compiled list of singatories ever Canadian petition do I understand this correctly confirmed implies proof can you share this asked here uh for a list of electors are also held by political parties under strict rules and for uh the evidence he said wait and see more to come so we'll see about that Um, let's see what else do they have here.

[00:31:30]Um, and oddly enough, because we're our timeline is not weird enough, it seems that there are parallel narratives of this going on because uh, in the United States, oddly enough, on the exact same day, April 29th, this is at 3:49 p.m. as a this stuff is happening in Alberta. Mark Elias who's a name you might know if you follow what's going on in the United States. He's the founder of Democracy Docket. He's a lawyer. Uh and he basically goes around uh all around the country uh challenging changes to electoral law and things of the like. um that according to him because and the reason the reason I am bringing this up is that um oh come on don't know what's going on here um computer's getting trouble again today I'm sorry kids and cs um the reason I I'm part of the information to you uh is because conservative organizations throughout the world coordinate a whole lot more than democratic ones do it would appear right you got that whole IDU thing uh so often what happens in one nation happens in another nation so this is another thing that that gives you an idea uh that these things are not just accidental but these things might be strategies that were developed coordinated and were designed to be attempted at uh specific moments. Uh but here, according to Yunor Rivas of Democracy Docket, newly obtained documents show clear paper trail of Trump administration officials planning to share sensitive voter data with outside political group trying to overturn elections as part of a secret agreement.

[00:33:34]Huh, interesting. The records first obtained by Democracy Forward through public record requests and ongoing litigation and shared exclusively with Democracy Docket include heavily redacted emails between government employees and the external group. They also include the signed voter data agreement and discussion of how data would be transferred between parties. In a statement, Democracy Forward President CEO Sky Perryman said the administration continues to withhold critical information from the public. Quote, "The Trump Vance administration continues to hide what it is doing with Americans personal data, who it has unlawfully shared it with, and why." Perryman said, "This is why we are seeking discovery in our case to ensure that we hold this administration accountable to the American people. We will not stop until we know exactly how far this unlawful assault on our privacy and potential threats to free and fair elections go."

[00:34:19]So, uh, kids and cubs, uh, we already have Elections Canada, uh, Elections Alberta announcing an investigation to how that leak le that leaked list got out and according to David Barker, police officers have already been in checking that out. So, um, this was state in the United States has involves litigation. Uh, I would expect, uh, very soon you will probably see that, uh, in Alberta as well.

[00:34:47]Quote, "Still the documents provide the clearest evidence to date that the Department of Government Efficiency Doge personnel engaged with an outside political group seeking to analyze voter roles in an effort to challenge election results. Earlier court filings stated the group's goal was to find evidence of voter fraud and overturn election results in certain states. Internal communications included in the files showed discussions about executing a data sharing agreement and coordinating the transfer of information once finalized through key details including the identities of outside of the outside identity. sorry, including the identities of the outside entity and other officials involved remain blacked out. One email included in the records offered a glimpse into the tone of the outside group's outreach with a sender writing that they had spent extensive time analyzing specific elections and were eager to share data and quote theories. The records also include referrals for potential violations of the Hatch Act, a federal law that restricts partisan political activity by government employees, suggesting concerns that Trump administration staff may have used their positions and government resources for political purposes. No, really.

[00:35:48]Despite the new disclosures, major questions remain unanswered. The government has redacted the names of most individuals involved and has not publicly identified the outside group that signed the agreement. Gee, I wonder why. The documents come as part of a broader legal battle over Doge's access to social security data, including highly sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, financial records, and medical data of millions of Americans. Let's just hope uh the elector's list does not include social insurance numbers and stuff like that. That case has identifi testified in recent weeks. A federal appeals court recently described the government's conduct as quote alarming and directed a lower court lower court a lower court to reconsider the case in light of newly disclosed evidence including the voter data agreement. A district court has since allowed discovery to move forward, meaning plaintiffs can now seek internal government records and communications.

[00:36:36]Even with large portions blacked out, the record records show that government officials moved forward with plans to exchange sensitive data in connection with election related activity and that more details may soon come to light as the case proceeds. So that's what's going on in the United States. Um, coming back to Canada, um, if uh, Elections Canada, Elections Alberta is the owner of the list and we assume that the leak did not come from Elections Alberta.

[00:37:11]And if the only other people that can have access to the list are political parties with very very strict conditions on how that information could be used, then um of uh either elections Alberta being the source of the leak or a political party being the source of the leak, we would probably have to assume it might be a political party.

[00:37:37]and of the political parties uh that exist in Alberta proincially uh which are uh the ones that might be uh rather inclined to um make that list available or be to be lax about the enforcement of the list. I guess it would be people most likely uh who are viewed as being rather sympathetic uh to the cause of those who would just happen to most benefit uh from having that information leaked.

[00:38:18]So uh that would uh leave the UCP and that would leave the Alberta Republican party probably right.

[00:38:28]And uh well we know that Mr. Wrath uh this uh alleged person who provides legal counsel who seems to have a lot of trouble with his own law society um is key member of the Alberta Republican party. So uh said council may or may not have had access to that list as a uh founding member of that movement.

[00:38:58]Um, let's see what else was there. Um, all right.

[00:39:26]Um, who writes for The Orchard?

[00:39:31]Another Canadian uh sort of independent uh or maybe The Orchard is the name of Substack. Sorry, a Substack account. He was there when the Centurion thing uh at the Centurion event when police arrived, kids and cubs. Uh in fact uh in his sitic article here uh I believe that there's even uh an image there that we can share. So uh let's uh put that up there for you kids and cubs so that uh you may uh see it.

[00:40:16]So they were having a meeting and uh police showed up.

[00:40:23]Okay. Uh, let's see uh what Mr. Apple had to say about the event.

[00:40:34]An elections Alberta official showed up to the launch of David Parker's new separatist scheme with four Edmonton cops to inform the group that they're under investigation for allegedly accessing the province's list of electors. Only official political parties, MLAs, constituency associations, and candidates are permitted to obtain the list, which includes voters names, addresses, phone numbers, and voter registration numbers.

[00:40:53]Parker launched the Centurion Project on Wednesday at the Edmonton Oilfield Technical Society in the city's deep south, which I attended. Minutes after Parker finished speaking, Elections Alberta and the Edmonton Police Service arrived. I happened to be outside for fresh air, pondering the privacy implications of what Parker had just unveiled.

[00:41:10]Um, quote, "At this point, there's a concern that your organization is in possession of and using the list of electors." Elections Alberta investigator Ryan TB told Tim Hovind, a disqualified 2023 UCP candidate and separatist who also spoke at Wednesday's event. Gee, I wonder why Tim Hovind might have been disqualified as a candidate in 2023.

[00:41:32]TB said the elections watchdog has reason to believe that the organization has built quote a database of voters from the electors list and will be commencing an investigation. The investigation told Hovind that chief electoral officer Gordon Mccclure emailed a cease and desist letter to one of the Centurion projects listed directors Jordan Parker on April 25th to April 28th. It's unclear whether Jordan is related to David. Quote, "It's not clear to us that the people at this event tonight have knowledge of the cease and desist letter that was sent yesterday. We don't know how well that was disseminated amongst the organization, said TB. He emphasized that, quote, we're not trying to shut this event down and it continued as planned. Hovind, who ran as an independent candidate in Rimi, Rocky Mountain House Sundry after his disqualification, was fined $1,000 by Elections Alberta, and his campaign's chief financial officer was fined the same amount in November for exceeding the candidate spending limit. Of course, but they want you to believe they're going to be so good with money when they run the semi-independent republic, soon to be 51st state of Alberta.

[00:42:33]Dors, is this the first elections Alberta investigation for David Parker?

[00:42:36]No, it isn't. In February 2025, Parker was individually fined $7,500 and his organization Takeback Alberta fined $112,500 for undisclosed election spending in 2023. When he revealed that Takeback Alberta was under investigation in January 2024, Parker claimed that it was an instance of quote lawfair by the union fat cats at Elections Alberta, which isn't unionized in retaliation for his advocacy, pledging not to cooperate.

[00:43:02]Mr. Turkey uh claiming that you are being treated very unfairly by the authorities only works for Donald Trump and you are not no you're no you're no Donald Trump sir there's only one man who can defy political gravity that way and that's him and you do not have that skills trust me you do not have you have neither his charm nor his charisma his particular brand of charm and charisma that seems to connect with um those of um particular tastes or peculiar taste. Let's put it that way.

[00:43:36]Suffice it to say, the group of separatists who gathered around Haven and the elections Alberta investigator didn't take kindly to his intervention.

[00:43:42]Well, no, but they don't. Then again, they don't take kindly to much anything that tells them no. So, you know, nothing new there. when accused elections Alberta of sending their gestapo of course yes because that's uh that that's the thing now to a private gathering likening it to authorities behavior during the co9 pandemic online and other separatists complained that the police showed up to their public meeting nothing to see here wrote John Sedor elections Alberta's normally procluded precluded from commenting on an ongoing investigation but it issued a statement on Thursday morning outlining the nature of the investigation said statement here uh from Elections Alberta dated April 30th, 2026.

Quote, "It has come to Election Alberta's attention an in it has come to Elections Alberta's attention. an inappropriate use and or distribution of the list of electors by a legitimate list recipient may have occurred. Despite our offices being legislative legislatively prohibited from commenting about investigations we may or may not be conducting, Albertans should know that Elections Alberta take this matter seriously. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the information contained in the list of electors, we believe it is critical for Albertans to be aware. Elections Alberta is taking every possible action to determine if this has taken place and if so to protect and recover the information. Quote, there has been no breach of Elections Alberta databases or systems. I repeat, there has been no breach of Elections Alberta database or systems. The unfolding situation is believed to involve a third party and to have occurred as a result of the inappropriate use and or distribution of the list of electors by registered political party that was a legitimate recipient of the list. Please tell me that this type of violation makes it such that a registered political party gets dregistered.

[00:45:40]Please don't tell me that there is a second chance or we give parties an opportunity to learn from their mistakes when something like this happens.

[00:45:53]Please, Elections Albert, tell me that you can dregister a party for this type of thing because even though you can recover the information in a certain sense, anybody who's accessed the private information of another person has seen their address. And once you see that, you can't unsee it. You can't recover that.

[00:46:18]Elections Alberta is working with other appropriate agencies on this matter and has notified the office of the information and privacy commissioner of Alberta. The election act legislates the contents, distribution, protection of and use of the provincial list of electors. This is extremely sensitive data and there are many safeguards to ensure it is only provided to the entities and individuals entitled under law to receive it and used only as expressly permitted in the act. Specific security features are added to each list provided to eligible recipients, allowing Elections Alberta to identify who received each specific copy of the list. Section 19.1 of the Election Act sets out the requirements that a person or registered party must follow regarding protection of the list.

[00:47:00]Recipients of the list must take all reasonable steps to protect the list of electors and the information contained in it from loss and unauthorized use.

[00:47:07]They must immediately notify Election Scout Alberta if the list or information has been lost. A person or MLA may not share the list or information with anyone for any use not expressly authorized in section 20 of the election act.

[00:47:23]A little background here. Under the election act, a registered party may receive a copy of the list of electors for the province and each MLA may receive a copy of the list of electors for their electoral division 2 years following a provincial general election.

[00:47:36]After electoral divisions are amended or if a writ is issued for a bi-election in an in an electoral division or a provincial general election. Each registered political party and candidate may receive a copy after revisions to the list of electors close and after the conclusion of advanced voting during a provincial general election. Following a provincial general election elections, Alberta shall provote a post-election day list of electors for each voting area in each electoral district and or electoral division and provide that to each registered political party and MLA for their electoral division. These are set out in sections 18 and 19 of the election act. Access to the list of electors is restricted to the entities named in the election act sections 18 to 20. These entities do not include third parties and third parties are not eligible to receive copies of the list of electors at any time. Section 20 of the act permits the use of the list for following purposes only. So that previous sentence says that while the Alberta Republican Party or the UCP may have been entitled to have the list of the Centurion Project, most definitely not.

[00:48:41]Section 20 of the act permits use of the list for the following purposes only.

[00:48:45]One, by a registered political party or registered constituency association for communicating with electors. Two, by an MLA for carrying out the duties and functions of the member or soliciting contributions for the use of the registered political party, its constituency association, and recruiting party members. Three, by a candidate for communicating with electors during a campaign period and for soliciting contributions during any period authorized under section 43.1 of the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act. and four by election officers for the purpose of carrying out their duties under the election act.

[00:49:19]That's it.

[00:49:20]That's the only reason that information can be used. The list of electors contains electors first names, middle names, surnames, address, postal code, telephone number, unique identifier number, electoral division, and voting area. A person who contrivates these provisions of the act is guilty of an offense and liable to an administrative penalty of not more than $10,000. Not enough.

[00:49:41]Add some zeros.

[00:49:44]If you want this behavior to be deterred, add some zeros. Or if convicted by a court to imprisonment for a term of not more than one year, not enough or to both a fine and imprisonment.

[00:49:56]If you're doing anything whatsoever that is [ __ ] with our elections, fine should start at 8 million and we should be looking at no less than 10 years imprisonment.

[00:50:14]If you really want to send the message that this type of stuff is unacceptable, make the penalties substantial.

[00:50:24]These are ridiculous penalties for this type of crime. It's basically a permission slip.

[00:51:58]Article goes on, "Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the information contained in the list of electors, we believe it is critical for Albertans to be aware." Read the statement. The elections watchdog emphasized that there was no breach of Elections Alberta's database or systems. Quote, "The unfolding situation is believed to involved a third party and to have occurred as a result of the inappropriate use or distribution of the list of electors by registered political party that was a legitimate recipient of the list," said the statement. "The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta has been informed." So, what is the Centurion Project? It wasn't entirely clear from Parker's rambly, albeit characteristically fiery speech. Yes, all these fiery speeches for some reason are very rambly. But as I learned it was under elections Alberta investigation for using the electors list the initiative came into sharper for f focus. In short the centurion project is an app that separatists can sign up for and identify or claim potential supporters by sending them a certain me to complete which is where a database of voters might come in handy. I do not think that the current methods that we are using will get us independents.

[00:52:56]Parker stated he praised the efforts of the Alberta Perfidi project I mean prosperity CEO Mitch Sylvest who has been hosting town halls across the province to collect signatures for an independence referendum petition that is currently being held up in court. Parker claimed that more than 300,000 people have signed the independence referendum petition coming close to doubling the approximately 178,000 signatures required. Uhhuh. Let's see how many of those stand verification. quote, "However, we are not going to win independence with popups and town halls or door knockocking or phone calling."

[00:53:25]He said, "We're not going to. We're not going to because what we face is every single institution against us." No.

[00:53:32]So, basically, you're saying is you can't win according to the rules.

[00:53:40]and you claim to say it's because every institution is against us rather than because your idea sucks or even if your idea was good, nobody trusts you and your group of yahoos uh to bring it to fruition.

[00:53:55]I don't think it has anything to do with institutions being against you. I think it has everything to do with you guys just not being tethered to reality and not liking not being willing to accept reality and instead of living in life as it is and say you know what sometimes life doesn't go your way just claiming that everything that doesn't go your way is persecution because of the fact that you are not where you want to be in life certainly cannot be any fault of your own because that would involve taking responsibility and admitting that you have agency. See, and maybe making it your job to fix yourself rather than trying to ruin everything else for the rest of us.

[00:54:54]He claimed that Alberta's treatment within Canada is quote worse than the slavery they wrote about in Exodus. Oh, for [ __ ] sakes.

[00:55:01]At this point, a member of the audience who appeared otherwise sympathetic shouted, "Could you cut the Bible belt crap?" "Buddy, I'm speaking. You're not speaking. Sit down," said Parker to applause. "Because yes, so much love and unity in this m in this movement, right?

[00:55:16]They don't even like each other."

[00:55:21]Parker said he learned about the technology when he was on tour with famed far-right American podcaster Tucker Carlson. The company that created it sponsored Carlson's tour stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September 2024. Tucker Carlson, who's now claiming by, by the way, that he he is experiencing regret that he in any way did anything to make it such that Donald Trump was elected. Uh-huh. Sure.

[00:55:42]Parker claimed that it helped President Donald Trump win Michigan in the presidential election two months later, noting the inefficiency of doornocking and making phone calls. He boasted that with the Centurion project, it will take 15 minutes to identify 10 people. Those people can then go identify 10 people of their own, which has been dubbed the 10 times strategy. It's not a multi-level marketing company, Parker said, reassuring the audience that nobody is being paid to participate.

[00:56:04]He recalled that during the 2023 election campaign, he urged supporters to find 10 people to vote UCP, but had no means of verifying that anyone had actually done that. Quote, "Now we have a way of accountability," he added, implying some sort of surveillance mechanism before emphasizing that the identities of the voters that each participant has claimed are an anonymized anonymous. Anonymized anonymized. There we go. That's how you pronounce that.

First of all, again, you have to believe David Parker, a man that was fined $112,000 over $100,000 by Elections Can Alberta, his uh his group at least, uh that he's telling the truth on this. And uh yeah, it does look like some type of surveillance. Eh, I told you to find 10 people. Before I didn't know if you actually had, but now I have a way of knowing whether a unit says here that you only got six. So, where are the other four?

They're not the type of I I'm sure that when it comes to u respecting the will of electors and allowing people to freely uh cast their vote or participate in democracy as they would prefer to and not as they would be ordered to. Uh I'm sure they they are the type of people uh who of such character that that they would leave those people alone would never ever ever ever do that type of thing.

[00:58:28]Interestingly, section 18, paragraph 7 of the election act states, quote, for the purpose of tracing the unauthorized use of the list of electors. The chief electoral officer may have fictitious voter information included in the list of electors provided under this section.

There there are certain entries on the list that are not real people and you said earlier that when you distribute the list uh the the lists are personalized and there are uh security features in them to ensure so um if a party if a list was given to all the political parties but each one of those lists uh have uh individual um victim fictitious voter information included in the list and that fictitious voter information is different on each one of the lists and let's say the list was leaked and uh uh we cross elections Alberta cross references uh the names the fictitious voter information on uh individualized to each list of each party that received it with uh the information that has been leaked. Gee, how hard would it be for Elections Alberta to find out which party it was specifically that leaked the list?

[00:59:50]I have a feeling that the people who leaked the list did not know that there was fictitious voter information included in the list of the electors before they did that. Because if they did, they may have thought twice before doing that. before they did.

[01:09:08]We have developments. Elections Alberta has secured an interim injunction against a separatist organization which the watchdog alleges has unauthorized access to the province's most recent list of electors containing their personal information belonging to 29 million residents. So uh already uh going to court for certain things the things that can be done fast like injunctions uh have a feeling they'll be born. Elections Alberta on Thursday went to court to force the separatist organization known as the Centurion Project to stop providing its members with information the agency alleges originates from the provincial list of electors. The Centurion Project's app were authorized users could search for residents by name or addresses went dark after the Court of King's Bench Justice John Little issued the injunction Thursday morning. Elections Alberta believes Centurion's data originated from the Republican Party of Alberta, a separatist vehicle which launched in 2025.

[01:09:59]The list that populates the Centurion Projects database at one point was in the hands of the Republican Party of Alberta. Joseph Redmond, a lawyer for Elections Alberta, told an Edmonton court. Mr. Redmond said it's unclear how Centurion obtained the data. The court issued an injunction temporarily prohibiting the Republican Party of Alberta from sharing the list of electors. Elections Alberta. I don't know why you would need an injunction for that because they're not allowed to share it.

[01:10:23]Elections Alberta, which in April said it did not have grounds to investigate whether the Centurion Project has unauthorized access to the list of electors, said Thursday it notified the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. The Centurion Pro Centurion Project, an effort to organize and train volunteers to identify and recruit supporters for Alberta's independence movement, operated an app that allowed users to search for residents by name or address.

[01:10:45]It filtered for towns, writings, and polling subdivisions. The app was designed to help separatist volunteers canvas friends and families about their views on the province breaking free from the rest of the country. Alberta separatists are pushing to have a question about independence included on the government's referendum ballot scheduled for October 19th. Quote, "The Centurion project is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming months." David Parker, one of the organizations leaders, wrote on X on April 20th. We have the backing. We have the momentum. And now we have the tool.

[01:11:25]Mr. Per is an avid separatist and co-founder of the Takeback Alberta, an organization previously home to many on the right flank of the United Conservative Party. The root d because the United Conservative Party has a right flank.

[01:11:42]The root database powering Centurion's app contains much more information than what is accessible with a simple search.

[01:11:47]The global mail access the app's root databases which contains the names and addresses as we mentioned for two mill nearly 3 million Albertans. The root database also contains unique elector identification numbers and middle names uh for close to uh 2.1 million phone numbers. The headcount in the Centurion Project's database closely used with Election Alberta's most recent list of electors. Elections Alberta updated list its list of electors in May 2025, counting 2,966,192 voters, which is 8,335 more than tallied in the Centurion's database. According to the Globe an analysis, the Globe removed apparent duplicate entries from the separatists tally. Mr. Parker previously told the Globe he licensed the data, he licensed the data, but would not disclose the vendor, claiming it was under a non-disclosure agreement.

[01:12:34]The data, he said, was compiled from a collection of sources and cost $45,000.

[01:12:45]Someone made $45,000 off of this.

[01:12:54]Please tell me that these people were intelligent enough to not make it a direct sale from the party to the project that they at least put the effort of putting one or two middlemen in the middle to try to create a distraction or a diversion or a red herring. Please tell me it isn't just a direct they weren't so dumb that they did it directly.

[01:13:25]Mr. Parker's politics over overlapped with the leader of the Republican Party of Alberta, Cam Davies. Mr. Davies told the Globe his organization had provided the list of electors to a number of vendors for use to use for authorized purpose. He said the Republican Party of Alberta has contacted those vendors to determine if the list leaked or had been misused. Okay. So, it seems that they may have been smart enough to not do it directly.

[01:13:49]When asked how people are to believe that Mr. Davies was unaware of how Mr. Parker alleged use of the electoral list, sorry, when asked how people are to believe that Mr. Davies was unaware of how Mr. Parker allegedly used the electoral list, the leader of the Republican Party of Alberta said, "We share similar ideologies, but we're not always aligned on similar methodologies."

[01:14:10]M I think somebody just threw someone under the bus there. Elections Alberta list of electors is available to registered political parties which must carefully guard the data and can only use the information for activities outlined in the election act. Alberta law prohibits third party organizations such as the Centurion Project from accessing the province's list of electors. Lists of electors are powerful tools in campaigns because they allow candidates and parties to identify potential voters and gauge support through door-nocking and phoning. In the Centurion Project, volunteers claim electors on the list and fill out a survey about their views on separation.

[01:14:42]This allows organizers to measure support with precision, giving them insight on how best to deploy volunteers and money. And should a question on separation materialize, the volunteers will be responsible for hurting the electors they claimed come referendum day at a grassroots get out the vote tool. Both the Centurion Project and Elections Alberta organized their databases by the province's seven writings. The widest gap between the two lists is in Lethridge West where Centurion's database contains 36,778 electors lagging elections Alberta's count by 752 names or 2%. The difference is at its narrowest in Edmonton City Center where the two lists differ by 25 names or 0.08% with Centurion's database containing 31,425 voters to elections count Alberta's 31,425.

[01:15:36]The app itself may be harmless. The people making use of it. However, that that's that that's it's amazing how they always can take something and push it on something else. Yeah. But the act is harmless. Nobody is worried about harm the app itself causing harm.

[01:15:55]The hap the app is just a thing. It sits there. It doesn't do anything. until somebody accesses it and decides to do something with the information. That's where the harm comes.

[01:16:15]Quote, "This is publicly available data like you would find in the phone book when we had phone books," Tim Hovind said in a training video about the app hosted 13. Yes, that's why Elections Alberta puts such strict information on uh how phone books are used.

[01:16:40]I don't know anybody willing to pay somebody $45,000 to get access to a phone book.

[01:16:56]Um, yeah, Tim Hovind said, "People's names and just the address. There's no cell phone data. There's no email address.

[01:17:05]There's nothing like that. This is just this is just uploaded publicly available data that the world knows about you."

[01:17:11]Really? Uh, I'm not sure that the world knows my address.

[01:17:20]I know I give that information up when I'm filing uh when I, you know, fill out government forms and stuff like that. Uh but there also privacy laws that protect that. I I'm not sure that people's uh addresses and uh voter registration number are publicly uh available data that the world knows about us.

[01:17:47]Tim Hovind is not living in the same reality the rest of us do. He insisted people post more information about themselves on Facebook. Yeah, that's okay. But that's people who chose to do that.

[01:18:03]It's not something people have to worry about. And the data is so locked down really tight that there's no way to download a list. There's no way to download addresses or cell phones or anything. That's the one thing we really like about this website. The data is safe on it. Uhuh. That's why you've been taken to court.

[01:18:17]Mr. Hovind and Mr. Parker have been associates for years pushing to shift Alberta further to the right of the political spectrum. A man identified on the video as Emtt Kelsey echoed Mr. Hovind's explanation when asked about the origins of the data available to app users. Quote, "It's the same publicly available information that pretty much anyone can access, including a person's name and a person's physical address, and essentially the only reason why that data is there is so that we are able to find a person to do a survey for them because the goal is to canvas the entire province." Mr. Kelsey later reiterated that the app is quote just publicly available data of everyone in the province that is an elector. A third person on the video who inquired about the origins of the information then said, "Oh, so data from Elections Alberta type of thing, right?" Mr. Kelsey replied, "Yeah." Then he added, "Just publicly available data." He compared it to data that can be purchased from Canada Post for targeted advertising campaigns. In a separate training video, the Centurion Project demonstrates how to use the app by looking up and displaying former Alberta Premier Rachel Notley's information.

[01:19:18]Miss Notley, a stalward of the province's new Democratic party, faced waves of threats when she ran the province. Elections Alberta, received a complaint about the Centurion project on April 1st, according to a letter obtained by the Globe. Paula Hail, the Alberta election commissioner, in the April 10th letter said her office conducted a preliminary review and with quote quote with the evidence currently available, there are not reasonable grounds to allow me to direct an investigation into a potential breach of the rules governing who is permitted to access the list of electors. Uh, okay.

[01:19:49]Please know that I found the evidence that you provided to be compelling, and I want to reassure you that I take the unauthorized use of the list of electors very seriously, Miss Hail wrote.

[01:19:57]Unfortunately, I was able to discount the potential that the data you attributed to being from the list of electors was not from another legitimate source such as such as Canada Post or the various data brokers. She added, "Without additional information, this matter will be closed and no further action will be taken." Oh, yeah. Okay.

[01:20:11]Uh rather than um Oh, well, this is concerning. Um, we're not sure whether or not uh this list of electors uh could have come from sources that are not uh elections Alberta, so we won't check.

[01:20:36]Okay. Yes, it could have come from Canada Post or various data brokers, but it also could have come from you.

[01:20:40]Shouldn't you at least check rather than wait for us to provide you with more information? you're the organization that has the resources.

[01:20:51]That's a really weird decision from Elections Alberta at the time. Alberta did not immediately respond to questions about the initial investigation and letter. Offenders face fines up to $100,000 and up to a year imprisonment for breaching the election act.

[01:21:03]Elections Alberta in a statement on Wednesday said the list of collectors contains quote first names, middle names, surnames, addresses, postal codes, telephone numbers, unique identifier number, and electoral division and voting area. Employee access to the list is secured and managed by individual user ID and login and limited to those who need it to go perform their duties. Elections Alberta said all internal user access is tracked and can be audited.

[01:21:25]The election act stipulates who has access to the list of electors.

[01:21:28]Generally, the chief electoral officer furnishes each registered political party with a copy either in print, electronic format or both. Members of the legislature and candidates are also able to access the list for their electoral division. The act outlines acceptable uses of the list. Parties and constituency associations, for example, can only use the list to communicate with electors, including for soliciting money and recruiting party members.

[01:21:49]Elections Alberta in the Wednesday statement said, quote, "A person or MLA may not share the list of the information with anyone for any use not expressly authorized by the act."

Quote, the UCP did not provide the list of electors to any unauthorized outside group or individual. Any suggestions of the contrary is false. Under the elections act, the list of electors is provided to registered political parties for official electoral purposes. Further questions regarding the administration distribution of the list should be directed to elections Alberta.

[01:26:54]There's no way to exaggerate the massive unauthorized use of voter information apparently engineered from Alberta separatism activists. The names, addresses, and phone numbers for more than 2 million Albertans are out in the wild. Actually, nearly 3 million. You just had to vote in the last election to be vulnerable. Elections Alberta says the list of electors contains electors first names, middle names, surnames, address, postal codes, telephone numbers, unique identifier number, electoral division, and voting area.

[01:27:16]That data could be used far beyond politics for personal revenge, harassment, or even threats to safety.

[01:27:20]There's hardly a politically engaged person in Alberta, from media to politicians to activist who isn't an open book to anybody registered with the Centurion Project, a third party advertiser favoring separatism.

[01:27:31]Elections Alberta got a court injunction against Centurion on Monday afternoon.

[01:27:34]This happened at light speed. Chief Electoral Officer Gordon Mccclure knew a crisis when he saw one. The Centurion Project was ordered to immediately take down the list, but as pro-Canada campaigner Thomas Lucassic points out, there's no guarantee the list hasn't spread to other actors or that significant amounts of data hasn't been scraped and saved. Once it's out, you can't put that genie back in the bottle.

[01:27:53]He says only registered parties, candidates, and MLAs have legitimate access to these lists solely for election purposes. Strict secrecy has been a core value for generations. NDP leader Nahed Neni said he has a strict non-disclosure agreement. He treats the data as if it's quote in a vault for many years. So has every other party until now. Elections Alberta seems to believe the list in question was legitimately supplied to the Separatist Republican Party of Alberta. Somehow it ended up in the Centurion database.

[01:28:58]Elections Alberta has some neat tricks to catch funny business. Individual lists are salted with a few fake names.

[01:29:02]If a list pops up in the wrong place, those names reveal the source. On Wednesday evening, an Elections Alberta official came with several police officers where he served papers on the Centurion project with leader David Parker present. We want charges. We want charges. The online crowd immediately started ranting about a police state and shattered freedom. Parker put up an image of a phone book. When was the last time you even saw one? To somehow prove the data was public and harmless. The Centurion Project apparently adopted a US strategy called 10 times. The idea is for every activist to identify 10 people they want to recruit either as voters and workers. Normally, they'd have to dig around to find those people, but with the link to the official electors list, they just punch in the name and every detail pops up. Some reporters replicated this Wednesday. Lucassic says that no matter what happens legally, quote, "They all have the information."

[01:29:47]Now, this fall referendum on all nine questions will no longer be valid. I am also concerned about the next election because it's run off the same list.

[01:29:54]Elections Alberta made this case public, quote, due to the extremely sensitive nature of the information contained in the list of electors, they said. But of course, David Parker wants you and those people want you to believe it's just it's just information you can find in the phone book. Not sensitive at all.

[01:30:10]Elections Alberta also said its own database has not been breached, neither apparently have those of the NDP or the UCP. UCP communications director Dave Prrisco said the party quote did not provide the list of electors to any authorized unauthorized outside group or individual. Any suggestion to the contrary is false. Elections Alberta rules have been abruptly changed by the UCP, notably on the separatist referendum question. Simmering animosity goes back to investigations of funding for the party's first leadership campaign in 2017. And now, Elections Alberta isn't even allowed to mention current inquiries. Hm. Faced with such a huge breach involving millions of Albertans, Mccclure said to hell with that little rule. Only weeks ago, he was begging a legislature committee for funding to cover the government's referendum binge and was largely denied.

[01:30:57]So, it seems that there's a battle between a US, the UCP and the head of elections Alberta and the Elections Alberta. Uh, even though the UCP says you're not allowed to mention current inquiries, uh, took this one to court anyway to get the injection.

[01:31:21]Thank you, Mr. Mccclure for doing your duty and not being intimidated. Now, um in that article I read from uh Jeffrey Apple that talked about u a warning that uh elections Alberta got uh around April 1st.

[01:31:50]I had an interesting thing to say about that because it would appear uh that she knows the source of that um complaint.

[01:31:59]Elections Alberta had reasonable grounds to know that separatists had access to the province's voter file at least a month ago. And as far as I can tell, they did sweet [ __ ] all about it. Let me explain. On Thursday, Elections Alberta obtained a court injunction to force a separatist group to take down an online database that was populated from the electoral list that is generally only available to select political staff who need access to that data to do legal voter contact and outreach. Access is limited because the voter file contains re of personal information including full names, addresses, electoral and local polling districts, phone numbers, and emails. Typically, provincial parties will each get a copy of the voter file, and there are strict controls over who can see what and how personal information can be used. For very real reasons, the voter file can be used to harass public figures or track down victims of stalking or domestic violence, which is why the database isn't supposed to be bandied about carelessly. Holders of the file need to know who can read the data and be able to conduct internal audits of the information they are pulling from it. At no point should the voter file be freely available to the likes of David Parker, a local political activist in Alberta, wellknown for his organizational efforts to elect Premier Daniel Smith and currently running what he calls the Centurion Project. The Centurion Project is a registered thirdparty advertiser that seeks quote to recruit, equip, and mobilize a team of community leaders across the province of Alberta to take on the task of winning Alberta's sovereignty. As court filings now show, the project stands accused of creating a database based on a copy of the voter file allegedly given to Parker by the Republican party, a fringe and failed effort to elect another well-known political figure, Cam Davies, in old Diddsburysbury during a bi-election last year. Parker's stated goals were to amass more than 100 volunteers through this project, though he claimed to meet personally that he had more than surpassed that goal and hoped to reach a thousand by midappril. Once the Rando volunteers signed on, however, they were given nearly unfettered access to a database that included Alberta's voters, including their home address, polling, and electoral districts. The RCMP is now investigating.

[01:33:55]Separatist meetings have been met with police with police. Elections Alberta is investigating the affirmation court injunction shut down the Centurion database on Thursday. Later that same day, Elections Alberta issued its timeline of events. On April 27th, 2026, credible information was obtained suggesting the Centurion Project may be in possession of the list of electors provided to a registered political party that was a legitimate recipient of the list. Inquiries into the validity of this information began immediately. On April 26th, the chief electoral officer wrote to individuals associated with the Centurion Project to advise them that if they were accessing a list of electors, they must immediately cease and desist.

[01:34:32]On April 29th, representatives from Elections Alberta, supported by members of the Edmonton Police Service attended a meeting of the Centurion Project Limited being held in Edmonton to ensure the cease and desist letter was received. Event organizers were once again advised and a copy of this directive was personally served to a representative of the Centurion Project to immediately cease and desist accessing any information contained in the list of electors. That all sounds like a fast impressive response, but here's the thing. That summary is um missing a few damn dates. like say March 31st, that's when someone reported to Elections Alberta that the Centurion Project appeared to be getting promiscuous with the voter file. On that date, an email was sent to Elections Alberta titled, quote, "Need to report possible violation urgent." In that email, someone told Elections Alberta this quote, "David Parker's new Centurion initiative appears to be soliciting volunteers. Once accepted, and there appear to be no permissions set up for that acceptance, volunteers are then given access to what appears to be the entire Alberta vote file." How do I know this? I know this because that person was me. I wrote that email.

[01:35:35]Jen Gerson is the person who wrote that email. This all began in late March after I received a tip from an anonymous from an anonymous source using a burner email account and offering no name nor any traceable personal information. This person signed up for the Centurion project immediately saw what was available and wanted to report the situation as a massive priv privacy preach. They didn't want to do it directly, however, so they came to me. I was able to verify that what the source had sent to me was true. My source had access to recent personal information from what happened to be millions of people, me included. Further, the way the data was structured, which included polling and electoral districts, made it likely to have made it likely to have originated it from a folder file I knew the Centurion Project wasn't supposed to have. Parker has denied this and says the database was compiled from a third party. This situation, however, put me in a bit of a journalistic pickle. If I just went out and reported on it, I knew anybody would be able to sign up and access the same data, which could potentially put people in danger of exposure. So, I did I thought So, I did what I thought was the right thing. With my sourc's consent, I contacted Elections Alberta directly and told them what I was seeing. On April 1, I got a call from an Elections Alberta investigator and told him what I knew, saved the identity of my source. The investigator seemed to take my report seriously. On April 10th, I received a notice of outcome, which I have attached below. And that was the thing uh where I I I mentioned here uh that um uh elections Alberta said that they that there was nothing there for them to look at unless uh they had the unless she had more evidence uh to support.

[01:37:03][clears throat] As you can read for yourself, the Alberta election commissioner Paula Hail said that while the evidence I provided was quote compelling, she couldn't conduct further investigations because there was no proof that the information Parker compiled wasn't gathered through legal means. gloss over for a moment the privacy implications. Instead, stop and just examine the logic of this dismissal. Even though the evidence was compelling, no further investigation into whether or not data was legally obtained could be done for reasons. Now, I don't claim to be no I I don't claim to be no criminal genius, but that don't make no damn sense. If you have compelling evidence of a crime, you do not not investigate said crime because it's possible a crime wasn't committed.

[01:37:40]You know, you look into it. Further, as a reporting has subsequently revealed, the voter file distributed to various political parties is seated, that is, the file has false information placed within it, so that in the event of an unauthorized breach, an investigator can trace the original the origin of the file back to the party of origin. I can only presume that this is how Elections Alberta came to believe that Parker's copy of the file originated with the Republicans. That should have made investigating this complaint trivially easy. All anybody had to do was sign up for the Centurion Project and run a few basic database searches. Anyway, after receiving this letter, I found myself in a double journalistic pickle. I was hoping that Elections Alberta would look into it, seeing the blindingly obvious, and then issue an injunction allowing me to report on it. That's not what happened. Not only was the database still freely available to anybody who signed up, but now I was the complainant, which is not a position any journalist wants to find herself in. I didn't want to make the story about me.

[01:38:30]So, I uh passed the ball along to other people who I knew who could pick it up.

[01:38:34]And today, here we are. I'm glad that the injunction was granted the list taken down. I feel comfortable reporting on the topic. But boy oh boy does the election Alberta have some explaining to do. I probably wouldn't have written about my involvement in any of this at all except for the shall we say um trunky timeline of events they offered.

[01:38:52]Totally pissed me right off because it seems to me that if they had simply taken this complaint seriously enough to investigate properly a month ago, they could have received that very safe court injunction before the breach came out in the media. And that's before we begin to ask how many additional people over the last 30 days. The Centurion Project is exponential is an exponential exercise. Once that data is in the wild, it's not possible to rehome it. The injunction demanded that both the Centurion Project and the Republican Party identify every single person entity who had access to that information along with contact information. All I can say is good luck guys. My source was able to gain access to the partial file with a burner account. I highly doubt these guys even have that information turned over. We simply have to operate under the assumption that basically anyone in the province, no matter how unhinged now, may no matter how unhinged, may now have nearly universal access to the personal information of everybody who lives here.

[01:39:43]And there's not a damn thing any of us can do about it.

[01:40:09]There people wondering if the information contained in the data uh can be used potentially to forge signatures on a petition.

[01:40:19]Mr. Luke says it's possible, but there's no evidence of that. I'm certain that Elections Alberta will be awake to that.

[01:40:24]I'm sure that the people doing the verifications uh they might want to do a little more intense than usual verification there.

[01:40:36]Um yeah, this is not um this is not a good situation.

[01:40:48]Uh so that's uh from uh Mr. Luke um with regard uh to uh the breakdown itself our friends there uh see if they have any additional uh things that they can add. Uh a lot of uh them was following what Mr. Luke Kasich was saying because clearly um he was uh setting the tone here uh the breakdown uh from their DMs.

[01:41:28]Allegedly, the elector list was obtained by the New Centurion project that none other than David Parker had been organizing and was accessible to their members and volunteers. Okay, that's part that we knew. Um, then again, I mentioned here both David Parker and Marty quote, "I'm racist, but what Beller appear to now be implying that their database was built from a phone book. Anyone know when the last time a phone book was printed?"

[01:41:54]>> [laughter] >> Uh so uh there was the elections Canada statement here uh that came out uh stating that uh they were not uh the source of the breach.

[01:42:16]Um then coming to the same conclusion I did here. Hey, are there any separatist parties in Alberta whose leader has ties to David Parker and are also openly separatist party? Okay, there's two, but not the UCP this time. Probably.

[01:42:31][laughter] Um, let's see what else do we have here.

[01:42:40]From the DMs, a highplace source confirms that at least one law enforcement agency has been allocated resources for an investigation into the alleged data data breach involving the Centurion Project. Ooh. Okay. So, and not only is there an investigation, but it appears that it is being properly funded.

[01:43:00]Okay. Let's see here. Uh then uh we have the Elections Canada timeline here that Jen Gerson mentioned in hers. Uh Peter Guthrie, who is the leader of the Tory party, the newly formed Tory party, uh disavowed any involvement in the growing scandal. Uh, quote, "For clarity, neither I nor the Tory party provided any electoral list, nor would we. That runs directly counter to the standards we're committed to. The unauthorized sharing of personal information is a serious breach. I've experienced myself being added to mailing lists without consent, and it raises real concerns about how information is being handled more broadly. To be unequivocal, the Tory party does not possess an electoral list and was not involved in this matter. We support efforts carried out in a principled way. The Forever Canadian campaign has shown that it's possible to build support and engage people without crossing those lines and we appreciate their work to strengthen Alberta within the federation. So not uh the newly formed Tory party.

[01:43:58]Um Centurion Projects provides a statement to the CBC saying the app was strictly used by volunteers. I made an account and access database in 30 seconds and that a third party provided the data.

[01:44:11]says it will comply with the investigation.

[01:44:14]Uh this is uh by Jack Ferrell. I'm not sure if he was the person uh that made uh that that originally made the account uh as talked about uh by Jen Gerson uh but could have been somebody who did uh follow it afterwards and uh did it. He's a Alberta legislative reporter for Canadian Press News in Edmonton and a former city hall reporter for the St. Albert Gazette who made this statement here.

[01:44:48]Um let's see. Uh of course Alberta Premier Daniel Smith is outside of the country as this is happening.

[01:44:58]Uh according to uh the CBC's Janet French as details emerge about the alleged misuse of border information. We have yet to hear an official response from the Alberta government. Premier Daniel Smith is on a 10-day tour of Europe to promote trade and investment.

[01:45:11]This morning, she participated in a fireside discussion at the Chattam House in London about energy, critical minerals, defense, and technology.

[01:45:17]According to a government news release in response to questions about the potential misuse of voter information and privacy implications for vulnerable people, the press secretary for Alberta's justice minister referred questions to the United Conservative Party. UCP spokesperson David Prrisco said the party did not provide the list of electors to any unauthorized outside groups or individual and referred additional questions to Elections Canada.

[01:45:42][laughter] Uh according to Josh Mlan, he says uh he was in Calgary's University District about 18 hours ago getting reaction from people on the street about the story.

[01:45:52]There's been a common thread among their responses, shock and anger that voter information was shared without permission. People are confused as to how this information was accessed and they're not happy that the information was available so easily. The people I spoke to want to see consequences for those involved in accessing the list of electors.

[01:46:15]Okay. I'm a pro uh Michelle Belfonten, a provincial affairs reporter based in Edmonton, says the provisional NDP leader Nah Neni said Albertans should be angry, quote, and deeply alarmed by how easy people could access their private information while the database was online. Quote, "There are very, very serious implications for this kind of behavior." NI said, "It's dangerous. It puts people lives at risk and it puts our democracy at risk."

[01:46:37]Uhhuh. And then she also pushed back at suggestions from Centurion Project leader David Parker that the electoralist contains the same information seen in a public phone book.

[01:46:46]That sentiment was also in post from other Albertans who support separatism because they all got their talking point. Nanchi said the voters list includes additional information. He called on the provincial government to ensure elections Alberta has enough funding to properly conduct an investigation. Quote, "Every single Albertan who votes has had their personal data breached by these people."

[01:47:03]He said, "This is not a joking matter."

[01:47:07]In an interview with the Canadian Press, the leader of the Republican Party said it hadn't received official communication from Elections Alberta.

[01:47:13]But Cameron Davies said the party has issued a notice to the Centurion Project that any information the group may have allegedly received if it came from the party is not to be used. Quote, "We were proactive on that before the injunction today and will be fully compliant with elections Alberta." Davies told the Canadian press, "Sure you will. [laughter] Oh man.

[01:47:41]Okay.

[01:47:43]Uh I think uh that is pretty much all uh we've got on that uh for now.

[01:47:52]If I'm uh looking here uh yeah UCP claims they didn't provide the list.

[01:47:59]Uh it would seem uh that the a little bit of irony noted by the breakdown uh that uh the Centurion project which doesn't want Alberta to be a part of Canada. Uh something about their website uh that uh the folks at the breakdown noticed.

[01:48:18]Okay, it's been a day, but can we talk about this for a sec? Because David Parker's super separatist organization used a friend from Toronto to register aca website.ca.

[01:48:31]Just let that marinate.

[01:48:37]Uh they got a guy named Josiah Martinoski and yeah to do that.

[01:48:47]So we want we don't want to be part of Canada. come to our.ca website to find out how to no longer be part of Canada.

[01:49:00][gasps] My god, this is Oh my god.

[01:49:08]Wow. Wow. And um Josiah Martinoski uh apparently lives in Ottawa, has worked extensively with federal conservatives. Take back Alberta follows him. Parker's wife follows him. He retreats Parker. He follows uh Cam Davies. And uh it seems here that the fact the breakdown uh went to uh Mr. Martinoski's LinkedIn uh because it seems that Mr. uh Martinoski thought him to delete his LinkedIn profile. Uh he may have deleted uh other socials from noted um again have a way of verify verifying myself whether or not he did but that is the allegation. But according to uh the breakdown here, there's a photo here uh that involves a a whole lot of people and says a fun fact, even when you delete your LinkedIn, search engines retain content for a while. Anyway, here's the p pick.

[01:50:15]Um yeah, uh I believe Haish Marshall is in this pick. Uh [laughter] and Daniel Smith is definitely in this pick.

[01:50:33]This was uh Mr. Martinowski, of course.

[01:50:37]Um, okay.

[01:50:44]Just little things here and there. Uh, might be a breadcrumb, might not be, but uh, interesting.

[01:50:58]Uh, Mr. Martinowski's academic background. Trinity Western University is a private Christian liberal arts university located in British Columbia.

[01:51:07]Apparently, that's where uh he graduated from. Um so yeah, Hish Marshall in there.

[01:51:19]Uh yeah, this is not good by any stretch of the imagination. This is very very very very very very very very bad. Um and uh Daniel Smith must be feeling very lucky that she's in Europe for for 10 days.

[01:51:38]Maybe she won't have to talk about it all when she comes back. Maybe the the moment will have passed. But uh always interesting how she manages to be outside of the country whenever a bombshell drops like this. Isn't it?

[01:51:52]Just saying.

[01:51:54]Um, this is terrible. This is the type of thing uh that has heads rolled. Uh, this is the type of thing that does lead to criminal investigations that leads to charges that leads to court cases.

[01:52:07]This is the type of thing that ends political careers. And even though the breach seems to have come from the Alberta Republican party, not the UCP.

[01:52:14]So Danielle Smith can claim some distance, it's still true that Daniel Smith has done nothing but bent over backwards like a cirus, a contortionist uh to accommodate the separatists. And uh now there will be all eyes on her uh to see what it is that she does. And uh whatever she does is probably unless she decides to let it all slide. Um, and because she thinks that she has enough of a cushion to do that and not take the hit and lose as a result of that. I guess she could try that. But it seems that this is the type of thing like a freedom of information request ban that uh breaks through and that people can understand.

[01:52:50]Everybody understands what it is what it means to have other private data leaked.

[01:52:58]Everybody can understand sloppy.

[01:53:01]And given that the separatism movement has about 27% support um and the UCP has 49% uh support uh 73% of Albertans who don't support separatism uh having their personal data shared. I would guess that there are some UCP voters uh that are maybe not separatist because 59% of them are but the 41% that are not uh who probably are very very very unpleased with the party right now and Peter Guthrie just standing there from the Tory party looking um how'd you like now?

[01:53:47]You want a conservative option that actually protects your information?

[01:53:51]might want to look at the Alberta Tory party.

[01:53:54]Just saying.

[01:53:56]Um hopefully this is the type of thing that makes a lot of people get off the Danielle Smith bandwagon that make make them think that uh because like I said, if she's going to have to go if she's going to go after this, she's going to piss off the separatists and then she's going to lose them.

[01:54:13]And maybe uh her party will lose some support. Maybe some of that support will go to the Alberta Separatist Party.

[01:54:19]Maybe our party will start losing some support and some of it will go to the Tory party party uh that still has some conservative leanings but that actually wants to run things in a competent manner.

[01:54:30]Uh so uh this could be very this could be very bad news for Danielle. Again like Doug Ford, she has teflon like we said yesterday. However, uh yeah your uh like was said by the commentator on that clip. Yeah, your eggs keep sliding off the teflon pan until the one day it doesn't. Then all of a sudden you're you're you're chewing on little shards of shards of Teflon.

[01:54:56]The public mood against Doug Ford after eight years turned very very quickly after a series of two or three bad decisions that everybody can understand.

[01:55:06]Everybody can understand. A day to breach.

[01:55:12]And it's not like there's much love for Danielle Smith. That polling indicated that people were tired of her. They just didn't appreciate Neni more than they disliked Smith.

[01:55:26]This is something that can increase the dislike of Smith and make perhaps make Neni look good relatively.

[01:55:34]or if the NDP decides to uh turf their leader with a few months and try to bring someone else might be a little fresher and might be able to mobilize more uh they're definitely going to be gifted uh an issue. But this is this is a gift that's going to keep on giving because uh like I said, if the police are coming in and they're looking at stuff, uh there's probably going to be more revelations coming up and I would be very very surprised if there were not charges the or fines or something. The list was not supposed to be used. The list was used and it seems that there was a financial transaction of $45,000 according to David Parker uh when he bought that list.

[01:56:18]So, someone's in trouble, and it shouldn't be that hard to figure out who who it is.

Uh but yeah uh okay let's let's arrange to have another little rendevous later on today because as Kit Linda M says uh wonders what wine pairs well with beaver that's a good question I'm going to guess it might be uh a rather since we do incisive political commentary probably a rather toothy red.

[02:01:14][laughter] Oh, I I put poor unfortunate souls in your head, didn't I? Get saucy. Uh I I got to perform it the other day when we had that that review. They gave they were nice enough uh to to to give me a song to perform that would connect with my inner diva.

[02:01:31]So, [laughter] and it was for the kids. So, you know, uh I was able to to put on a little bit of character and have a little fun. And for some reason, it really fits well with my voice for some reason. Uh even though it was written clearly for a female voice, um but slightly lower, but uh I can really knock that one out of the park. And for some reason, I don't know, when I sing it, I I get British, which is kind of weird.

[02:01:57][clears throat and laughter] There's it's it's almost like um uh oh, somebody described it to me uh when I was singing it. It was like a well-known British character if it was being sung in their voice instead [laughter] of uh of Ursula's. Uh but uh yeah, I I had fun with it. I I might actually include it as a a future audition song because uh like every now and then you find a song that suits you and that you can perform the living out of it.

Whereas the Alberta Prosperity Project driving the current independence petition has held three documented meetings with senior Trump administration officials and solicited a $500 million US credit facility to fund a potential independent Alberta. Whereas the Trump administration's documented pattern of resourcedriven coercion in Venezuela, Greenland, and Panama, is now credibly directed at Alberta, which holds the world's third largest proven oil reserves. Whereas co-founder Dennis Modri, participant in the Washington meetings, was found by VC Supreme Court judge to have misappropriated $1.3 million from elderly relatives because we're dealing with only the best people.

[02:10:37]My editorial edition. Whereas Canada's Foreign Influence Transparency Commissioner has confirmed foreign interference in Canadian political processes is already occurring and that the Washington meetings may fall within his mandate. And whereas the Alberta government legislated around a court ruling declaring the original petition unconstitutional conduct the presiding judge described as disrespectful to the administration of justice. We, the undersigned people of Canada, call upon the House of Commons and Parliament Assembled to invoke its authority under section 53 of the Supreme Court Act to refer the constitutionality of Alberta's Justice Statutes Amendment Act 2025 to the Supreme Court of Canada and to direct the Foreign Influence Transparency Commissioner to immediately investigate the meetings between the Alberta Prosperity Project and the Trump administration.

[02:11:22]Uh, that's a petition that I I can definitely sign. So, uh, this petition wants, uh, the law that, uh, the, uh, Alberta UCP just passed, uh, to make it such that, uh, the referendum question, uh, proposed by the separatists did not have to go to court to be deemed constitutional before it could get to the next stage. Uh, wants that law reviewed, wants, uh, wants to see if that that that law is actually constitutional.

[02:11:50]Can you constitutionally make it such that a referendum law doesn't have to be deemed to be by the courts before you approve it as a government to be voted on and to direct the foreign influence transparency commission to immediately investigate the meetings between the Alberta Perfidity project I mean prosperity project and the Trump administration.

Uh just as we had to offer our thanks to the Ottawa Senators for giving us uh at least a first round, uh we also have to give our thank to the Edmonton Oilers who unfortunately uh were not able to make uh miracle happen. lost 5-2 to the Anaheim Ducks and therefore eliminated which leaves us only already with the Montreal Canadians, Canada's uh national team in the Sunny playoffs who are going to try to seal the deal in the first round tonight at 700 p.m. Eastern time against the Tampa Bay Lightning Montreal.

[02:16:25]uh 32 in the series after a a very uh exciting match [laughter] on uh uh the 29th that finished with Montreal uh up 3-2. All the matches have been uh onegoal matches uh in this series so far. Um so and I believe yeah I think the first three went to overtime. I may be wrong on that one.

[02:16:55]Um, very tight series. And, uh, the Ottawa Charge yesterday played the Boston Fleet and, uh, although the Ottawa Charge were leading 1-0 after a while, uh, the Fleet Store scored two relatively quick goals later in the match uh, to win the first game. So, the Ottawa Charge down 01 in that best of five series at the PWHL. Uh the Toronto Raptors also uh lost their uh fifth lost the fifth match. So the Creative Cavaliers are up uh three matches to two for what could potentially be uh the final match tonight at 7:30 if you are watching the Toronto Raptors. And if you are following the Canada uh super uh Super Basketball League, uh the Sudbury Titans uh won the trophy against the KW No, the Subbury Fives against the KW Titans uh in a very close uh game five uh because it was at 2-2 um that ended 90 to 89 by one point. Uh the Sbury 5 came back from two down in the series to win three in a row and take home uh the champion.

[02:18:06]That's some good news at the World uh hockey championships for under 18. Uh unfortunately the match that we were were looking at uh while we were live on air that was tied 2-2 between Canada and Sweden at the time uh at somewhere in the third period uh ended with Sweden scoring two more goals in that one and a team Canada losing 4 to2 and being uh eliminated unfortunately uh from the tournament. It closed up a little bit yesterday as well. Actually more than a little bit yesterday. It was a big bounce back up. Uh the TSX is down just a little bit. negligible, not even uh 0.1% at the moment. So, we'll see if that picks. Uh both of the stock markets picked up over the the day yesterday.

[02:20:46]And uh gold has opened up $18. Uh so, just a marginal increased. And let's take a look while we're at it at the price of oil because uh bitmen yesterday or yesterday or the day before in overnight trading at 100 uh uh before coming down sharply yesterday. Uh and was down and is down a little bit uh more again today. uh moved down 3.5% and Brent down 2% to $11.35 and $18.35 respectively. Uh or the traders looking for stuff there.
