[00:00:00]The Pacific Garbage Patch isn't actually a floating island you could walk on.

[00:00:04]When we sail through it, most days you can't even see it. That's what makes it so scary. It's mostly tiny pieces of plastic smaller than your fingernail floating just under the surface. The whole thing is twice the size of Texas, but spread out like invisible confetti in the water. We're talking about 80,000 tons of plastic. That's like 400 blue whales worth of garbage. You could sail right through the middle and think the ocean looks normal. Next time I'll show you what our water filters look like after crossing it.
