You're about to amaze everyone with what looks like an unbelievable special talent. The reactions are huge. The method is simple and self-working, and you can perform it with any shuffled deck. Here at Coach Trick, we use magic to unlock real world confidence. So, hit subscribe and stay in the game. Now, grab a deck and let's dive in.
Okay, so as ever, let's kick start by taking a look at the effect itself. A remarkable display of skill. And we're going to start with a shuffled deck. So just hand the cards to a spectator. They can shuffle the cards as much as they like. They really are mixed. Now, you can point out on the table here, we have a pre-written prediction. And we're going to explain what that means in just a moment. For the time being, though, here it will stay. Now, you're just going to ask a spectator to take the deck and to deal two piles of cards to the table. Now, in interest of focus, each pile just needs to contain 10 or 12 cards, but it's a totally free choice.
So, let's say the spectator chooses to deal one pile of 10 cards. They can do this however they like. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. And they choose to deal a second pile of 12 cards. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12. And with the two piles dealt, they can just place the rest of the deck to the side. Now, at this point, you're going to turn away so you can't see anything. And you're just going to ask the spectator to choose one of the piles. It's a totally free choice. Let's say they choose the pile just here.
You're now going to ask them to take this pile and to turn face up any number of cards that they like. And in doing so, they can turn face up any of the cards. It's a totally free choice. Let's say in this instance, they choose to turn face up a total of three cards. So, they just go through the pack. Let's say there's one, there's two, and let's say there's three just there. Now, make sure they do that silently, of course, so that you can't hear. And once done, they can just place the pack back down on the table. You now ask them in the interest of balance just to take the other pack and to turn face up the same number of cards. Again, they can turn over any cards that they like.
So, another three cards here. Let's say there's one, there's two, and there's three just there.
You now ask a spectator just to choose one of these packs. Again, a totally free choice. and just to place it back on top of the deck. At this point, you can now turn back around towards the cards. At this point, you can now explain your pre-written prediction. And this prediction is a number which represents the total number of face up cards in the deck. You'll also explain at this point you have a remarkable ability to be able to determine whether a card is face up or face down just through touch alone. because actually the ink on either side feels different.
You can also remind everybody there's currently no way that you could know how many cards are currently face up in the deck. It was totally random. You can explain that now in order to prove your skill without even looking with the deck behind your back through touch alone.
You're going to try to reverse enough more cards so the total number of face up cards in the deck equals your prediction. So, you're just going to place the cards behind your back. And here, you're just going to sense the cards with your fingertips, trying to gauge how many cards are face up and how many cards are face down. And then you're going to just reverse a few more cards of your own. Okay, I think just there. And once you've done that, you can bring the cards back out to the front. You can also just add the other pack on top. So, the deck is back together. At this point, you can just recap that a spectator reversed a totally random number of cards without you even looking. You've now reversed some cards of your own. There's absolutely no way that anybody could know how many face up cards are now in the deck. But we now want to find out.
So, you're going to ask the spectator just to take the deck and to count the number of face up cards allowed to the table. So in this instance, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20.
a total number of 20 face up cards. You can now bring in your prediction, reminding everybody that this was written before the cards had even been touched. For the very first time, you can now open your prediction and reveal what it says. And we can see in this instance the number 20, an exact match to the number of face up cards in the deck, proving beyond doubt that you really do have a remarkable sense of touch.
Okay, so let's take a look at the secret to this effect. Now, you just need to start by writing a secret prediction.
This needs to be between 18 and 30, but it can be any number. Here we can see I'm using the number 20. Fold that prediction up, place it to the side, and ask a spectator to shuffle the deck. And they really can shuffle the cards as much as they like. You're now going to ask a spectator just to deal two piles of cards to the table. Now, each pile just needs to contain 10 or 12 cards.
They can contain the same number or a different number. It's a totally free choice. Let's say in this instance, a spectator chooses to deal two piles of 12 cards each.
With the two piles of 12 cards each, they can just place the rest of the deck to the side. Now, as you look away, you're just going to ask the spectator to select one of the piles. It's a totally free choice. And to turn face up any number of cards that they like, and these can be any cards. Let's say in this instance, they choose to turn face up a total of four cards. So there's two, there's three, and there's four. You now just ask them to turn face up the same number of cards in the other pile. Again, any cards that they like. So another four cards.
There's one, two, three, and four.
Then ask a spectator just to choose one of these packs and place it on top of the deck.
You can now turn back around towards the cards and take the deck. You're now going to place the deck behind your back and through touch alone, try to turn over enough more cards so the total number of face up cards equals your prediction. And here's what happens here. You're simply going to count off a total number of cards from the top equaling your prediction. So in this case, I'm just going to count off 20 cards. 1 2 19 20. You would then take these counted cards and just turn them over on top. You would then just give the pack a cut, losing those cards somewhere in the middle, and then bring the cards back out to the front. You can now just place the remaining pack here on top of the deck. You can now just ask the spectator to take the deck and to count aloud to the table the number of face up cards. So here we can see 1 2 3 19 20. And now you can just bring in your prediction and amazingly it would always be an exact match to the total number of face up cards. In this instance, the number 20. And there you have it. Remember, every time you master a trick like this, you're building proof that you can take action and make things work.
