Newly declassified U.S. government files reveal that Apollo 17 astronauts reported seeing unidentified bright objects drifting through deep space in December 1972, with one astronaut describing the phenomenon as resembling a '4th of July' fireworks display, and Pentagon analysis suggests these observations may have been caused by physical objects rather than natural phenomena.

‘Can’t Hide Anymore’: Secretly Filmed Footage Drops ‘UFO Truth Bombs’ As Trump Releases FilesAdded:
A secretly filmed documentary [music] following one of America's most prominent UFO investigators is arriving at a moment when Washington is releasing an unprecedented volume of previously classified material on unidentified anomalous phenomena, thrusting the decades-long disclosure movement back into [music] the national spotlight.
Sleeping Dog, directed by Michael Mazzola, chronicles the work of investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell, a central figure in efforts to push the [music] US government toward greater transparency on UFOs, or what officials now refer to as UAPs.
The film reportedly follows Corbell's activities over several years and includes [music] previously unreleased footage from his investigations alongside interviews with prominent figures, including astronaut Edgar Mitchell, >> [music] >> whistleblower David Grusch, and veteran reporter George Knapp. The documentary's release coincides with a fresh wave of declassified government material related [music] to UAP encounters, adding momentum to a debate that has steadily moved from the fringes of public discourse into congressional hearing rooms, >> [music] >> military briefings, and national security discussions. Corbell has become one of the most recognizable [music] faces of the disclosure movement through his role in publishing military videos, amplifying whistleblower allegations, and lobbying lawmakers to investigate reports of unexplained aerial objects operating near [music] sensitive military facilities. He argues that unidentified craft have been observed in restricted airspace for decades [music] and that the government possesses far more information that it has publicly acknowledged. The documentary also arrives amid renewed interest [music] from the Trump administration in releasing classified records connected to UAP investigations. What remains unchanged is the central question driving the movement, whether governments possess evidence about unexplained aerial phenomena that has yet to be shared with the public.
More than 50 years after mankind's final moon mission, newly released Pentagon files are reviving one of NASA's strangest space mysteries. [music] What exactly did the Apollo 17 mission crew see outside their spacecraft?
Among 162 newly declassified UFO files, a mission transcript from December 1972 reveals that astronauts aboard Apollo 17 reported seeing unidentified bright objects drifting through deep space, described in language that sounds more like a fireworks show than a lunar [music] mission.
According to the transcript, command module pilot Ronald Evans radioed, "Now we've got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver."
Then lunar module pilot Harrison Schmitt looked out his window and delivered the line now grabbing headlines, [music] "There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there. Just bright. It looks like the 4th of July out of Ron's window."
No explanation was given in the original exchange, no system malfunction was reported, and the objects were never conclusively [music] identified. Adding to the mystery, one of the images included in the Pentagon's release appears to show three bright objects in triangular formation above the lunar surface.
The United States Department of Defense noted, "There [music] is no consensus about the nature of the anomaly." But the accompanying analysis adds something even more intriguing. Preliminary US government analysis suggests the image feature is potentially the result of a physical object in the scene. And Apollo 17 was not alone. Other files in the same release include images from Apollo 12 mission showing multiple unexplained bright objects near the moon.
>> Here's that tape. We'll play it for you now.
>> I can see 70 or 80 of you out there.
>> Loud and clear. 7, go ahead.
>> I got a bogey at 10:00 high.
I can see >> This is Houston. Say again, 7.
>> We have a bogey at 10:00 high.
>> Roger.
77, is that the booster or is that an actual flight?
Say again, 7.
>> 77, uh looks like the three after actual flight.
>> Uh you have any more information, uh estimated distance or size?
>> We also have the booster in sight.
>> Understand you also have the booster in sight, Roger.
>> And we have 20 to 30 mini uh looks like 100% uh particles going past left out about 3 to 4 mi.
>> Understand you have many small particles going by on the left. At what distance?
>> 3 mi.
And uh looks like they're going past the uh angle of 60°.
>> Roger, understand they're about 3 to 4 mi away.
>> They're 2 mi away and 2 mi up.
>> Roger, and understand they were about 3 to 4 mi away.
>> 2 to 3 mi.
That's affirmative.
>> Roger.
77, Houston. Were these particles in addition to the booster and the the bogie at 10:00 high.
Roger.
>> 57, this is uh this is 57.
>> Go ahead.
>> I have the booster on my side. It's a brilliant body in the sun against a black black background. There's brilliant particles around it.
>> Roger, what direction is it from you?
>> It's about at my 2:00 position.
>> Does that mean it's ahead of you?
>> It's slightly ahead of us at 2:00, slowly dropping.
>> Roger.
>> A 1965 Gemini 7 mission transcript where astronauts reported a bogie leaving what looked like the path of a vehicle through space. [music] The files are part of a broader Pentagon transparency initiative involving unidentified aerial phenomena, UAPs. No aliens were confirmed, but after decades locked in archives, America's space age UFO [music] files are finally out. And even NASA's moon crews apparently saw things they could not explain.
Nearly six decades after it was written, a newly unsealed Federal Bureau of Investigation memo is reigniting America's UFO obsession. Not because of what it claims, but because of how terrified the witness appeared to be.
Among 162 newly [music] declassified UFO-related files, one October 10th, 1967 FBI memo details the account of a young female informant who told federal investigators she feared she could be killed for speaking about extraterrestrial contact. According to the memo, the woman claimed that in July 1967, she encountered what she described as a being from another planet who assumed earthly form. The document says the alleged entity gave her certain information then [music] was picked up and departed from Earth. But that was only the beginning. According to the memo, the woman later told investigators she began receiving messages from non-earthly sources. She allegedly shared specific claims involving historical UFO incidents including an alleged 1962 missile launch against the UFO over Africa which she said failed because the craft was protected [music] by a force field. Another claimed sighting over Antarctica in August 1967.
Then came the most chilling part of the file. According [music] to the memo, the informant told agents she fears for her life if it becomes known she [music] contacted officials as persons who saw UFOs have died mysteriously in the past.
The memo does not confirm her claims. It does not verify extraterrestrial contact and it does not mention any evidence [music] of mysterious deaths. Still, the document is now drawing intense attention.
The files were reportedly released [music] after a presidential order earlier this year demanding broader disclosure around unexplained aerial [music] events.
