Oregon Primary 2026: What's on the ballot?追加:
Well, it is election day and the countdown is on and in just a few hours, we'll have our first results in several key races, including the hotly contested Republican primary for Oregon governor and a vote on whether to raise taxes to fix roads. Kyle Bosshi is live at Multma County election headquarters in Southeast Portland with more. Kyle Tim, throughout the day, we've seen a steady stream of voters turning in their ballots. It's really too late to mail them. So, you've got until 8:00 tonight to drop them off at an official dropbox like the one you see behind me. As of this afternoon, about 29% of eligible voters in the state have returned their ballots. It's election day and Oregon voters will decide on everything from local races to raising taxes. But the biggest contest, Oregon's Republican primary for governor. The crowded field includes state senator Christine Drezen, who lost Oregon Governor Tina Cotek four years ago. She's facing former Portland Trailblazer Chris Dudley, who was the party's nominee for governor in 2010 and has the financial backing of Nike co-founder Phil Knight. State Senator Ed Deal, and Marian County Commissioner Danielle Bethl are also in the Republican field to decide who will take on the incumbent Democratic Governor Cotek this fall. Also on the ballot, Oregon voters will decide on whether to support Measure 120, which would raise gas and transportation taxes to help pay for road maintenance and upgrade infrastructure.
>> Now, Oregonians have turned out at a near record pace in this primary election because we make it convenient for eligible voters.
>> At a press conference Tuesday, Secretary of State Tobias Reid and Attorney General Dan Rayfield reassured voters that Oregon elections are fair, secure, and accurate. Every ballot is tracked, every signature is verified, every vote is secure. That matters.
>> Oregon voters will also decide on labor commissioner, local races, and school bonds. All important issues determined by those who fill out and return their ballots.
If you're not sure where to drop off your ballot at this point, we've got an interactive map, actually a couple of them on our website, kgw.com. They'll show you exactly where you can drop off those ballots again by 8:00 tonight. All right, that's good information, Kyle.
