Our first big rain... this is what happenedAdded:
It is the next day and it's going on around 2:48 and we have been super busy today. Uh we did pick up a unit in Little River uh early morning 6:00. Dad and I were on the road. We got there around 6:30 6:45. Got Grayson completely full. And so that was solid. And then we came back immediately did a video in the backyard. Uh we had to do a lot of dumpster tamping because to get all the stuff in there. And tomorrow we're going to get a freshy dumpster. And then I came in and I got everything's going to be listed on whatnot for the hard rock thing and buy now is now listed. I said that last time. I did add more things.
So, uh, definitely go take a look. So, this is all the stuff that we have left.
We have one pair of flipflops. We still have a lot of the patches and the ornaments, a book. I found some drumsticks. We only have a couple um of the shot glasses left. And then we have the two shot glasses uh the com memorable collective ones. They got those left. I think these just sold. I think we have one poster left when it comes to Led Zeppelin. We do have the underground shot glasses and then a couple of the pins. And then I did finish the whatnot show. Now, I might change some of this stuff up, but there this is going to be a lot of the whatnot shows already done. And that's not until June 6th, but I did get a whole bunch.
It's a whole bunch of things. So, you have some Hard Rock stuff, you have some Harmony Kingdom stuff, and you just have a whole bunch of stuff that we've got out about two or three different storage units. And a lot of this will change. Um I, you know, when I do whatnot shows, I'll put like a, you know, what I think I want to sell and then throughout like a week, I'll add stuff, take stuff away, uh do different, move stuff around. So, it takes me like a week to actually get everything and then I'll start taking pictures of it. Remember, Kayla has a huge show actually this Saturday, and I think you're watching this on like a Friday uh or somewhere or maybe a Thursday. So, it's going to be May 30th, 6 PM. Awesome jewelry show coming up.
But I also cleaned everything. If you see, everything is nice and clean in here. But you also see is that we don't have a lot of boxes. We do have to go do a Uline order. We used uh I think we sold 90 things in 2 weeks. And a lot of those had to be used in boxes. And we had to use our boxes because a lot of them went ground. So, we need more boxes. It's been raining on and off all day. We really can't do anything outside. And then really uh we're we're pretty much good to go. The thing that I have to work on and I don't know where I can do it at now because we're going to be using the trailers a bunch is that I have to figure out where I can ozone the purses because we want to get the purses not so much for the one on June 6th, but we want to get the purses where they smell good so we can go ahead and get them listed or do those on whatnot. And they're all those Doneyi and Burke purses. So, it has to be an enclosed area. You don't want to suck in ozone like in your lungs or anything like that. Also, I used to do them, if you guys remember, if you've been here a really long time. I did them before in my car and then a lot of people were like, "Hey, listen. You might want to go ahead and look at ozone and cuz I let it sit in there for like 30 minutes. It can destroy some fabrics, not so much in purses or clothing, but in automotive stuff that it can like take it can deteriorate some certain things. So, I don't want to do it in like the Jeep or my truck and definitely not the Mustang.
So, I don't know where it has to be like airtight, though. So, I was thinking I was going to do it in a trailer. Uh, but we have to use the trailers, especially tomorrow. There's another storage unit for sale. And I I'm going to actually call them right now to see if we can rent it if I win it. And if we can't rent it, it's going to be hustling to get this stuff done. I don't even know if I can buy it if I can't rent it. So, uh, that's what we got going on. We have a lot of stuff that's already looking good and this place is getting nice and clean. We also did pack all of these today. That was the whatnot, buy it now.
We packed another 40 items that went out and that's going to go out tomorrow. So, uh what we're going to go ahead and do is I'm just going to jump on the internet, take a look at this auction, and then we'll find something else to do. All righty. Well, I just talked to the people up there at the uh place where the auction is. They said that we can rent it. So, we will definitely uh go for that one tomorrow. It ends at 10:00, but it's all the way down. When I say it's in Merles Inlet, it is in Merl's Merles Inlet. There's a difference between like where I used to live, Merles Inlet, and where this is.
This is further down towards Georgetown.
So, it's a good I'm going to say hour and 20, hour and 30 minutes away from the house. It's pretty far down there. Then we got midnight.
>> What? Midnight? You better get that squirrel off of the uh off of the bird thing. What are you doing allowing him to do that? I know. What is he doing out there? Just he you're just watching him just right there. We got some big storms there. No storms in the backyard, but when I go to the front yard, you'll see.
And it looks like we had a big old tree limb fall back there. Uh we have a tree back there that's like kind of I'm going to say it's kind of dead. And I don't know if it's one of our trees or not. It looks like it's from the other uh lot over here, but we'll go back there, move that. I did want to actually mow the lawn, but I do not think that's going to happen. I do have to go ahead and clear some of the What are you doing? You following me around? Clear the golf cart off, bring that stuff in here, and then keep the feet moving and keep working.
We are outside. We got Kayla here. Hey, Kayla.
>> Hi.
>> And uh Okay, don't look at the Dr. Pepper. I know there's aspartane in it, but I needed some diet Dr. Pepper.
>> Look away. look away.
>> But we've had some nice rain and a nice hot humidity and the garden is It exploded like an like a bomb, didn't it?
Let's go ahead and start over here. And uh we are getting mics. They're in route. They should have already been here.
>> They were delayed.
>> Oh, where are you? Oh, there you are.
>> Yeah, it was behind. I got scared. So, start over with these guys.
>> Tomatoes.
>> We have 100,000 tomatoes.
>> Yeah.
>> And you did trim these.
>> And so, it it does like an air thing.
Remember what they people were saying?
>> Something about the air.
>> Something about airflow. So, it's working. And we're at the third tier.
This basil needs to be cut.
>> She's getting crazy, right? But you keep This is the one you keep cutting, right?
And it keeps getting huge and bigger.
So, maybe that's a thing.
>> Back here, if you take a look, we have three bell peppers that are looking pretty healthy. On this one, you have two bell peppers that are looking pretty healthy. This basil is not doing quite as good. Um, it's definitely >> And what I've been doing is because I've I've heard a lot of people tell me that you did take these off and they'll actually fan out. That's what I've done to that one. And it's worked for sure.
>> So, >> so get rid of them.
>> Get rid of them.
>> We do have a tomato here that we're going to go ahead and pick and we'll let that ripen a little bit more. It's a front pocket fine. Go put that in my pocket. And here, this one is busted.
>> Oh my goodness, that's huge. Yeah, I think it was growing too fast or something, but that one got busted. And this one looks like it's got something going on right there. But overall, probably what, another 10 to 15 tomatoes.
>> Yeah.
>> Um, moving down.
Is that the one from seed?
>> What?
>> Yep.
>> That came That is the heirloom tomatoes from my sister. Now look at the difference. All right.
>> And these are going to be tomatoes.
>> So you have these two that came from seed. Look at this. This is the same one, right? Yeah.
>> So, I don't It must be like a >> Yeah, this one right here.
>> This one right here was planted at the same time.
>> Yeah.
>> And just the difference and the sun is the exact same. We watered the exact same. The only difference is that's a bigger pot. That's it. Um the okra starting to get okra like >> Mhm.
>> It's starting to look more stalky.
>> Mhm.
>> Uh so that's good. Not like the scary stalky like you need to call the police, but the stalky like a bamboo, you know?
So these things should be getting some They're huge. I'm impressed by them. Got more basil here. You have a lot more tomatoes. Now, these tomatoes we did get from Home Depot. These were not done by seeds, right?
>> So, then you have basil. Nothing going on here. These are banana peppers.
Excited to see these guys popping out.
>> Mhm.
>> Uh, so you have some banana peppers here. I don't know how big banana peppers get. Uh, this guy. Jeez, there's a ton of them on here. Yeah.
>> One, two, three, four. There's five.
>> Oh, they might be ready to roll, >> right?
Are those What are those >> right here? Sweet banana peppers.
>> But aren't they supposed to be yellow?
>> Yeah, I have no idea. I don't know.
>> Didn't we do lunchbox peppers, too?
>> No, we did no lunchbox peppers. I don't think >> I thought we did.
>> Oh, I don't know. We did not jalapeno.
There's a jalapeno here. I know that.
The one in the back is a jalapeno. He's got a little one growing. Your mint is doing fine. Your other stuff over there is doing fine. This one came from seed.
>> Yep.
>> Now, welcome to the show, everybody.
Look. Where did this guy come from?
>> Oh no.
>> He's got to be picked.
>> Yeah.
>> Hold on. I might have to go get a basket. Hold on. We're going have to cut the camera. Go get a basket. We got our little baskets we had last year. I'm doing a little excited. No. I'm old. I'm about 40 years old. Like picking my cucumbers. So, look. Honey bee. Don't scare him. I scared him.
>> You scared.
>> Dang. Come back. That was dumb. Come back, honey bee. Anyway, he was doing honey bee stuff. Let me go grab a basket and then we're gonna start harvesting some goods. I couldn't find a basket so I got a strainer.
>> Babe, I have baskets on the >> When you walk in.
>> When you walk in.
>> If it was a snake, it would have bit him.
>> Let's see.
>> I specifically put these here.
>> You specifically put >> specifically.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. If it was a snake, it would have bitten.
>> Look, I've got the things there and then I've got this to like >> Oh, yeah. Do you think we need like a cutter to um cut those off or you just going to pick them?
>> I think we'll just pick them.
>> Pick them. All right, got my basket.
That's fine. Put my tomato in my basket.
So, the other day we were out here and we were trying to figure out what cuz we couldn't remember. We were even going to go back. I think we got the Boston picklers, right? Yeah.
>> Which means they should be picked between two and 4 in cuz when they get bigger than that, they don't It says they don't taste that good. Well, this guy needs to be picked. He slipped by us. Yeah, he slipped by us cuz we only saw a couple the other day. We only picked one and we had to actually Google lens it. Do you twist?
>> Yeah.
>> Gosh, that's prickly. All right, so he's good. We're going to pickle this guy.
>> Actually, we're going to pickle all of them to be honest with you. So, now you got to get in here. This is where the treasure hunt comes in. You're just like, where is some more some more cucumbers? These are going There's so many. There's hundreds of thousands of cucumbers in here. All right, there's nothing here. I think they're mostly on the back.
We're going to switch over to the this though real quick. Look at that zucchini.
>> That is >> Now, did you >> That actually is >> That's perfect.
>> We shouldn't let it get that big, honestly.
>> You just >> I had a little pairing knife.
>> Where's that at?
>> You can just just rip it off. It's fine.
>> Like that?
>> Well, it's good enough.
>> I mean, we'll have to eat it tonight. We >> have to eat it tonight. Now, this guy, does he get picked now or is he too small? Pick this one, too.
>> Yeah.
>> All right.
We'll eat that one tonight, too.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. So, we're doing pretty good.
All right. That's all of the zucchinis.
And if you come back over here, I do see another pickle here or cucumber. He's not a pickle yet. And this was This one was Look at the size of this one.
He was not there the other day. There's no way.
We were just here like a week ago.
>> I know. We were looking.
>> It wasn't a week ago.
>> We look all around.
>> It was like 3 days ago, I feel like. All right. So, you got these um we got something going on down here that doesn't look good.
>> That's definitely some kind of like fungus stuff.
>> Some sort of fungi.
>> Fungi, but I don't think it's um harmful. Did >> you just touch it?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh my god. That's the same stuff that we had over there that was growing.
>> Wash your hands probably. Do you see any more pickles? Like this guy's kind of little, but he they're they were saying you're supposed to pick them when they're that small. So, let's do him.
I might have to pickle some stuff tonight. There's another one here. Let's do him. He looks really scrawny, though.
Scrawny. And I'm trying to get it to grow this way, but some of them don't like to uh cooperate.
>> Cooperate.
>> I need to get those ties.
>> I just broke him off.
>> Oh, no. That's what I got so far. Look, >> man.
>> Yeah. It's our little Look at that. We got a nice little harvest. All right, moving on. Uh we did the zucchinis. This is a >> Is that a okra? Yes.
>> Yes. I can't wait to get my He's doing great.
>> You can pickle okra, too.
>> You also fry okra.
>> Sure.
>> That's what we're going to be doing. And then check it out, y'all. We got ourselves a Oh, wow. Huh. We got squashes going bad.
>> Oh, no.
>> All right. Do you think we should go get a knife for these?
>> No.
>> No. Just >> Just Yeah. We got thunder boomers coming.
>> All right. There's one.
>> Yeah. That's not a bad size. Now, that one's a little too big, but I think it'll still be cuz we can fry that up.
>> There's another one, >> man. That thing is huge.
>> We were ju The thing is that's mind blowing me right now. My mind is blown.
It's just down here.
>> And it didn't seem like these were that big.
>> I know.
>> Got another one. You want the one in the back here? Let that one grow a little bit.
>> Let me see.
>> Yeah, we might as well get him.
>> Get him. All right.
>> Yeah. Give them some space.
>> Give them some space in here.
>> Now, throughout the season, is are they going to keep producing this good?
>> Yeah.
>> Really?
>> Oh my goodness. Really?
>> Yeah. Once they start, it just kind of >> All right. Well, I think that is it. And this right here is a what?
>> That's a green pepper.
>> Green pepper. There's a couple uh peppers on there.
>> You've got something under there.
>> Yeah. What is this over here? I didn't see this guy. He's like kind of being >> Yeah. I need a >> shaded.
Oh, wait. What is that?
>> What is all that?
>> Are these the lunchbox peppers?
>> I don't know.
I don't know. I think those are jalapenos.
>> No, these are lunch box. I'm pretty sure.
>> Are they?
>> Yep.
>> Okay. So, they're going to get >> yellow.
>> Yellow.
>> Yep. So, this one over here must be lunch box.
Look.
Holy cow.
>> We didn't think we had any. We got 50 of them. All right, so we got lunchbox peppers. It doesn't appear that they're being dwarfed.
Actually, the ones underneath those leaves are doing better than these.
>> I know.
>> It's weird, is it?
>> It's the shade, I think.
>> And then the okras are um on >> doing okra things.
>> They're doing okra things.
>> And these are what I just planted the other day.
>> Yep.
>> And I don't know. We'll see how they do.
Those are the dragon breath peppers.
>> Yeah, they'll be good. So right there that look at that thickness of that ochre. I'm I'm impressed overly impressed at this year's harvest. And I agree with you. The thing is if we put stuff down here um it doesn't get a lot of uh sun over here.
>> Right.
>> So I don't know how we would do that.
Um I don't know. Let's go over here and also check on our strawberries. We have a lot of flowers, but we don't have any actual strawberries.
>> All right.
>> Correct.
>> Yeah. And I don't know. Oh, that might be a strawberry.
>> That might be a strawberry.
>> Yes, it is. Look at my dirty fingers.
>> That may or may not be a strawberry.
>> Now, should we go check on the uh blueberries?
>> Blueberries. All right, let's cut the camera. Let's go take a look at the blueberries.
>> Uh there's a bee under there, so that's good. But the blueberries kind of like stopped doing things, didn't they?
>> Yeah. There's been >> They've looked like this for a while now.
>> Yeah, there's been no change in the blueberries whatsoever. None.
>> Interesting.
>> Maybe it's not time for them. Maybe we have to wait a little longer.
>> Yeah. I mean, we're going to wait. Look at a bee down there doing stuff. Don't scare him.
>> You're so fascinated with the bees.
>> Well, now it >> Now, what's this guy?
>> That's a weed.
>> That was actually raspberry. raspberry, >> but we didn't buy another raspberry, so we didn't understand. Now, this right here is some sort of berry.
>> Yeah, I don't know what those berries are.
>> Looks like a raspberry to me.
>> But they're everywhere. Look.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> What do you guys think?
>> It's got to be a raspberry.
>> Yeah. I don't know. But they're like all along the whole >> side. This is why we planted the blue the blueberries here and that raspberry cuz we knew berries grew here.
>> Yeah.
>> So, I don't know. We'll wait. They they don't look any more blue or bigger or really nothing. So, we'll continue to wait on those and see what happens. If we get a blueberry, I would be impressed. But look behind you. You have a blueberry in the sky.
>> Yeah, we got some thunder boomers coming in. And so far, the water is doing good.
Once we get the trench drain done in the front and move everything to the ditch, I really think um and do the work back here. I think we're going to have the water issue pretty much not not great because we still got to do the front of the house, but way better than it was.
Yeah.
>> But the trench drain in front of the barn is going to be absolutely huge. So, we're going to go ahead probably watch this storm come in. If it's super cool, we'll film it. If not, we'll see you in a second.
As you can tell, we got ourselves a gully washer here. So, what we're looking at is seeing, okay, where is the flooding happening now? Because, as you can tell, um, it is basically right now pretty bad. Let's go ahead and poke her head up here cuz I want to show you some stuff where the trench train is going to really help this area. Hopefully this doesn't fling open. See all this water here? She's backing up on the uh on here. It's not coming in here. It's flowing this way up underneath there.
So, the cool thing is if you look all the water is not going it's hitting the rock and going straight into that. I don't know if y'all can see it, but it is going straight into our catch basin, which means it is going through that stuff and it's good to go. The issue now is, as we knew, is all the water coming down here off the driveway is puddling here. This is where we're going to go ahead and do the uh the the drain here, right? So, we're going to go ahead and get that big drain put in. And we have to do that after the termite person. So, no water's coming in here. As you can tell, this all looks good. The issue is is so much water is coming up under here. Take a look at that. That's just pure water. And this is what this was made for is that it's made for water to come on under here. But we don't want this to happen anymore. So, what we're going to go ahead and do is put the drain in the front of this place. That will take care of all this cuz look, all this is water. It's flowing up under the deck. And then what's happening is, as you can tell, all the water is coming up under this area here and flowing up over that. See all that? And that this right here is from the rock.
So, it's definitely a ton of water coming in. Now, we already knew that this was going to happen. This is not one of those things we're like, "Oh my goodness, look at all the water." But once and I might run over to here to show you guys what we're talking about.
Once we get the trench drain in in the front, all of this should clear up.
There should be very minimal amount of this uh happening if any at all. So then another good thing to look at is when it comes to this, see how all the water is flowing this way and it all I mean there's a ton of water right here and see how it's flowing into the ditch. We will get like some big catch basins here where all this water right here will be shoved into the ditch as fast as humanly possible. So, let's run over here real quick. All right, she's coming down pretty good. All right, so this water's not being affected. The water that's real bad is up under here and it's just breaching through there. It's flooding that and it's just going into the backyard.
>> This is what we were waiting for. This is a really good gully washer that we got going on, as you can tell.
And if you look, I don't know if y'all can see, see all that water coming out that pipe. That is from the front yard.
When it stops downpouring, we're walking out here and I'm going to show you what's going on back here because this is perfect. This is what we needed to see. And I'm kind of doing this for me so I can go back and watch this. All right, let's run up there real quick on the count of three. One, two. All right, so if y'all look, remember last year?
See, that's a lot of water coming over there. Remember last year, this was all just covered in water. No water is standing. This is working perfectly.
That one's working perfectly. But we did create the water now flowing this way.
So, and we kind of knew that because if you go over there, there is literally a just so much water heading under this way. That looks pretty good. Another thing that we really like this year that dad and I did is that we did um secure that gate. Last year, I'd be out there in the middle of thunderstorms holding it cuz it would bust it loose. So, it looks like it's easing up here. I might put my other boots on so I don't ruin these boots. We'll go in the backyard and take a look at the ditch. This is what I needed. I've never been so excited to get like a whole bunch of rain at once because it's showing me what we need to do over here. This is fine. This is just puddling stuff. That was a lot of rain. Everything is fine over here. We have no um we got nothing going on over here really when it comes to standing water. The the garden area looks good. The carport looks good. Um little little lightning right there.
And then this looks perfect. I'm not seeing anything happening here. All this is doing well. It's going into there.
That's completely full. It's pumping it this way. And then what we have over here is is a mess here. But like I said, we're going to fix that. And then this will be I mean perfect. Just think of all the water coming in there here, right? All of that water now will be shoved this way into the ditch back this way at a faster rate. Not a faster rate, just a different area. It's just going to move it differently. Right now, she's flowing so fast up under the left side of that um that barn that's probably not that good for the barn to be quite honest with you. So, we're going to go ahead run back underneath the carport.
Um wait till the storm passes a little bit cuz I think you can be struck by lightning like 10 miles away from the storm. So, we'll let it pass for a little bit. Let's go ahead and go for it. And um under here, this is flowing pretty good. So, it comes up under here, stops here, and then flows up over our rock. Our rock isn't moving, which is solid, but remember y'all, this is what happened last year. So, see how it's flowing this way?
Hits this area and then stops. I still may open this up here right there to get it faster in the ditch. I don't really know. But that's uh we got another round coming in. I want to be under there. I don't want to be under there.
>> I don't know if y'all can tell that back there is a new puddle of water. See that? We never had that before. So, I don't know what's going on back there. I really want to get back there, but I don't want to get struck by lightning.
We used to have it puddle up here, and it's not puddled up here anymore. But back there, that never used to be right there. So, I do want to get back there here in a second to figure out what's going on there. But, we knew about this.
We 100% knew that this was going to happen. We knew water was going to come up underneath here and then flow here and then make its way to the ditch. So, and it's flowing. I mean, it flows so fast. So, we'll just we'll just redirect it faster and underground. That's all that we're going to do. But I do think see right here, I keep talking, you know, just talking with y'all about this is I do need to maybe open that up so the water can get in there faster. I'm not 100% sure, but we really need to get back in the backyard to see how much the water is in the ditch. The ditch is not overflowing. I can tell from here that it's not overflowing, but she's still lightning. So, I ain't walking out there quite yet. We will pick up here in a second. So, the rain is letting up just a little bit. And uh I did not get my other boots on cuz there I don't know where they are to be honest with you.
But what we're going to try to do is wait probably for a couple minutes. I just looked at the radar and it looks like that this should pass in like 3 minutes. But we have another molly whopper of a storm coming in right after this one. So, I want to go see why there's so much water back here on the right. Not that we care that it's back there, uh, to be honest with you. Like that looks perfectly fine. We It's okay.
I just want to see if the ditch is backed up that far and it's actually flooding from the ditch to there. If that makes any sense. And just what a year has changed in this property. Cuz if y'all remember last year, this wasn't here. And all the water from like a big rain like that would come in here and what happened was it would flow this way and then this is where all of our stuff got damaged the that year. So, just one year, we were already able to move the water away from things damaging. Uh, so that's good. Right now, it is starting to lessen up a little bit. It's still thundering and lightning and it's killing me cuz I have got to get back here. Why is there a pond in our backyard? Where's that coming from? I've got to know. Uh, but we can start up here on this part of the ditch. This is perfectly fine. This is flowing very quickly. We get the water from our neighbors, too.
um like down the street and everything.
It comes in this way. So, I don't know how that works, but that's what happens.
So, we have a ton of water coming in from them, but this is not high, which means before this would get super high, which means it's definitely flowing that way, which is a good thing. Now, all I need is this. I need to stop thundering and lightning for like 10 seconds so I can get back here, figure out what's going on. I'm inside, got my good boots on.
Midnight's like, "You know what? I love it in here. Do you know why? Because I'm nice and dry. Dad, do you see all that rain out there? Yeah, I used to be in that rain and then I was like, "Hey guys, put me inside." And then she's now an inside cat. So, um, got a bird eating. Look at that. Oh, he flew away.
I didn't know birds ate it when it was raining outside. So, I'm going to hang out here with Midnight for a little bit.
Um, and then I'm going in the backyard with y'all to see where this water's going. So, it has stopped raining for maybe I want to say 2 minutes, right? And check it out. All the water has stopped here. This is how I'm saying how fast this actually drains naturally is that we do still have like a little puddle here. Obviously, there's a big old puddle here, but all of the river type of thing is gone. So, all of it stopped, you know, going here. There's a ton of water up under the barn right now that actually goes into the ground pretty quick because it's mostly sand over here. So, what I'm going to do is uh go ahead and take you guys from ditch point to ditch point and then we get to go back here to figure out why that is looking like a koi pond. So, it is the next day after the big rain. And sadly, I had some good video of the water draining into uh the ditch and everything. And the audio is bad. I don't know if I was just actually going up there and uh editing it. So, I don't know if the water got into the mic or something like that. I have no idea. But if you take a look right here, there is no water in the ditch. It's looking pretty good. Big old frog. So, we'll just walk this real quick. Yesterday, so much water. But look at this. All this is drained. So, it's been pretty dry around here. But this used to not This would uh that stump right there would hold a lot of water in. But all of this that was all soaked yesterday is all gone. All of this is nice and dry. Now, this is still holding water here. And I have an idea for this is that we are going to open up this right here because this is actually very nice. What they did prior or this uh little thing right here, the the the water coming this way does go this way pretty good. But this down here, as I noticed yesterday, the pipe is just too high. So, we are going to open this part up uh very very very soon. We're gonna make this an entire ditch here. And then I got to move that big old limb today because if you look back here now, also I got like grass growing in here. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Um, water's just draining a little bit, but a lot of this now is completely empty. So, the ditch is working actually way better than one would think because before, if you all remember, this was super high.
This would be flooded. there would be a ton of water in here and it's just not now. So, if you look back in here and all the water is gone here. So, it definitely drains. Does have some water holding here which uh we knew that that was going to happen. That was kind of the idea and then we were going to give it enough time to go ahead and drain into the ground. So, what I'm going to do uh eventually hopefully in the next couple of weeks is open this part up.
And we're trying to get this before like the big storms in the summertime and then also hurricane season. If a hurricane comes in and drops 15 in of rain or 20 in of rain pretty quickly, we're going to want this to be done. So, the uh the trench train should be done mid June. And then after that, we'll probably take a little break on working on the house. We might do uh like the barn stuff on the inside, but nothing really outside other than opening that ditch up. And then that really should be good to go. Everything worked beautifully around the house. And then once we get the trench drain in in the front, I'm telling you, it's going to be a dramatic difference in the back of the barn. So, that ain't too shabby. I'm going to go ahead and edit this video and I will see you tomorrow.
