Llangollen Canal Breach, Evening Update.Added:
Right, just back at the Clangolan Canal Bridge for a bit of an evening update.
Workers have gone home and we've got a regular viewer here, Phil, with his uh dog, Tommy girl. Um, and see if his wife Jill notices that he's on the video. It's always good to see see viewers. I'm going to take off now.
As I say, it's always nice to see the people that watch the videos. So, if you are ever down in the area, please do say hello and see if there's any change from this morning.
Nice and quiet down here now. It was uh quite manic with work going on and uh the amount of people filming earlier.
So, the drill rig looks all set up now on the embankment on the old toe path.
I think that was a toe path, wasn't it?
Was a toe path on this side? I can't remember.
Um, so that does look like it's ready to go pretty much, maybe tomorrow.
We'll try and come and do a video in the morning tomorrow.
We've got the trailer there and then the smaller, not smaller, the older drilling rig is down at the bottom of the embankment.
is here with me and he's currently tied me up in a big knot. So, just stop the drone for a moment while I untie myself.
This morning, we saw them digging the culvert out, which is on the earlier video. If you uh haven't seen it already, do have a look at that. It's quite an interesting video.
And we can see they have uh fence set off. And it does say danger excavations on just for a bit of safety.
Excuse me.
And that's filled up with water.
Probably from the ground. Ground water may have come back a little bit from the uh squirrel there.
But he's thinking this wasn't here. Have a drinky.
I think he is. Oh no, he's got some.
And I think you can see the wall.
The drain head there.
He's tied me up again.
Um just picked his lead up so he doesn't run off.
So, it'll be interesting to see what happens around this this hole they've dug.
Whether they'll try and send some kind of uh something through the drain camera or a drain jettter or some such.
Um, that's a possibility. See if it is complete. I guess it's quite blocked up at this end at least. Um, so if we zoom out of there and then head over towards the actual bed of the cut that was large excavator is there.
It doesn't look like he's done a lot more digging.
Maybe a lot of tracking in to compact things.
I don't think it has gone any further because when he dug that trench out last week, he was up to that kind of spot.
So, I think that's probably as far as they got last week.
I presume they've started drilling proper on this rig today.
Wonder if I can zoom out and go around the other side. If we can just have a bit of a look at that drilling rig, which would be interesting.
does look like they have started doing some drilling.
I presume drilling is the right word for this. I know it's not rotary, but it's almost like a percussion drilling, isn't it? Cushion drill. if you know better, please do comment. Thank you for while we're on that note, thank you for all the uh new subscriptions and uh if you haven't already or are new to the channel, please do subscribe and ring the notification bell of course.
That will notify you of any future videos I post or make sure you don't miss anything.
And then in the link there is a link to uh to buy me a coffee if you wish to donate to the channel which lots of people are doing. So I really appreciate that. That helps me out in uh buying things to continue with doing the videos. I'm just looking for another hard drive at the moment. I filled a two terbte one in the last month or so.
Um got a smaller 9 ton excavator which looks like he may have graded down towards those pilings a little bit.
Maybe that was last week. I can't quite remember.
See was digging out the cover earlier on today.
It's the other side of the new drilling rig that arrived earlier on.
I guess this is just arrived to uh speed the job up somewhat.
And I guess the actual rig is very similar to the other one.
Does look a bit like a petra engine on it. Uh which I thought it sounded like earlier on.
on my drain jet. I have a two-cylinder engine and it sounded very similar to that.
Zoom out of there.
Just have a look over the compound itself.
Don't think much has changed over this way.
Look like there's uh maybe a couple of deliveries here which I'm not 100% sure what they are.
If anyone has any ideas, please do let me know.
Echo barrier.
noise control system.
So, is that to go around the pumps possibly to try and quieten the pumps down or some other reason?
If anyone's got any ideas again, please do comment.
Skip there. the brass fencing, the small pavement roller, and the uh wheel dumper and the pad foot roller.
And then of course the track, which is all fenced off, I think for security.
If we just come back, we'll work our way back to the takeoff site.
A little look here as we come floor mat there. Something in this corner as well. A little look at that stairs.
The excavator was digging here, wasn't it? Whether he's just smoothed off, graded off the area.
And the night watchman is again on site.
There's lots of chairs in that container, which we think is possibly the canteen or welfare cabin.
Yeah, I'm going to fly back to the home site now and uh land.
You'll see me sat on the wall in the usual spot which is here.
And he's just on the embankment behind me.
Turn around a little bit and reverse. Do a view over the site if we can, which means going up a little bit.
Like to keep an eye on the site from our usual spot.
We're at maximum altitude. You'll hear >> maxitude reached.
>> Just going back so we can get it all in shot.
>> That's a full sight there.
Was great to see.
So now we will come in to land.
He's whimpering at me a little bit, but he is here.
Not the best landing, but long as it's a safe landing, I'm happy with that.
I think whoever's on board this plane will be thoroughly sick by now.
And we can see Phil and Tommy girl there.
Thank you very much and we hope you all have a good evening.
