Sarnia police chief suspended for workplace harassment investigation

[00:00:00]In a news release, the Sarnia Police Services Board says it has initiated a formal independent investigation following a workplace harassment complaint filed against Chief Derrick Davis. Well, it's a stunning development. Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says he learned of the news Tuesday morning at the same time the general public was informed. Davis was given the job in 2022 when Bradley was a member of the board. The mayor has since stepped down. I ironically left the police board because I did not like spending and the attitude of the new chief at that time who now is being suspended. In the meantime, the police board did not disclose the nature of the complaint and said it would not provide further comment. Deputy Chief Mike Vanzickle assumes the position of acting chief.
