Forza Horizon 6 on PC requires manual control remapping through the game's settings menu, while Xbox compatibility is limited to the Moza ES steering wheel due to encryption chip requirements; the HBP handbrake works on Xbox but may cause issues requiring restart, while the SGP sequential shifter and HGP H-pattern shifter are not supported on Xbox; optimal racing settings include 900-degree wheel rotation, force feedback scale of 0.8, and mechanical trail scale of 0.9, while drifting settings require lower force feedback scale (0.7) and reduced torque limit (2 Nm) for better wheel control.

Forza Horizon 6 with the Moza R3/R5/R12/R16/R21 Does it work!? + BEST WHEEL SETTINGSAdded:
Hi guys, that'll be testing out Forza Horizon 6 with the Moza R3 together with a selection of accessories to see if they all work. And what I'll be showing today will also apply to other Moza wheel bases that are compatible with the Moza ESX steering wheel, which to be honest are most of them. And I'll provide my best wheel settings for both racing and drifting to get you up and running for the best experience. I'll include details in the description below of all the items I'll be showing today including purchasing links. And a huge shout out to Xbox for giving me early access to the game for review purposes.
The full game launches on May the 19th, 2026 with early access for premium edition starting on May the 15th. If you have the Xbox Game Pass Ultima or the PC Game Pass, you'll have access to the game from the 19th. And if you're wondering, the PS5 version comes out later this year with no confirmed date as of yet. In terms of my setup, my sim racing rig is from Track Racer and it's a TR120. My monitor is the 48-in LG UltraGear 48GQ900B and I'll be testing all of this on my PC and Xbox Series X. Let's start by testing on a PC and looking in the Moza Pit House app in the section where all the games are supported, Forza Horizon 6 is not listed but that doesn't mean it's not supported. I've got Forza Horizon 6 on Steam and launching the game by default nothing is working and the reason for this is that all the controls have to be remapped. You can do this by going into settings, control, and remap all the options under wheel. And this applies for the accessories, too.
Connectivity-wise, I've got the HBP handbrake and the SGP sequential shifter connected directly to the wheel base and the HGP H-pattern shifter connected via USB to my PC just because there's only one shifter port on the wheel base.
After remapping the controls in the app, the wheel and pedals work perfectly and you can feel the force feedback coming through to the wheel, but the rev counter doesn't seem to be working, which is a bit of a shame. Testing the accessories and I can confirm that the HBP handbrake, SGP sequential shifter and the HGP H pattern shifter work perfectly, which is awesome to see and worth noting, you should make sure that the firmware on the wheel base and accessories is up to date via the Moza Pit House software. Over to testing on an Xbox, but before we start testing, make sure the firmware on the wheel base and the accessories is up to date. To do this, you'll need to connect the wheel base to a PC and go into the Moza Pit House app. Once in, go to the update option to see if there's any updates available. If so, then update if required. Once the firmware has been updated, make sure you calibrate each of the devices and once done, you're good to go. Now coming over to my Xbox Series X and in Forza Horizon 6, go into settings and difficulty. In here, the shifting is set by default to automatic.
So, if you intend to use it with a shifter, you need to decide whether you either want manual or manual with clutch, depending on how you intend to race. I've set mine to manual with clutch so I can test out some of the accessories. Testing the wheel, paddle shifters and pedals and I can confirm they all work as expected, but if you found that something didn't work, then you can just go into settings, control and remap the option under wheel and this applies for accessories, too. In terms of compatibility, you're limited to just using the Moza ES steering wheel as compatibility for the Xbox is provided by an encryption chip in the wheel. And just to note, Moza doesn't have any other Xbox compatible wheels, which to be honest, is a bit of a shame.
Now I've got everything connected to the wheelbase and for console support, all the accessories have to be connected directly to the wheelbase for it to work. Let's test each one out. First up is the HBP handbrake. I've connected it to the wheelbase and testing it out, it doesn't seem to work. Let me try to assign it in game. So, going into settings, controls, and in the in-game settings, make sure you're in the wheel option and assign the handbrake to the e-brake option. It's picked up the handbrake. Going back to the game and testing the handbrake and it works initially, but then stops working and worse still, the car now doesn't move.
So, it looks like it messes things up and the only way to get this working again is to restart the wheelbase. Next onto the SGP sequential shifter. I've got that connected to the wheelbase and testing it out, it doesn't seem to work.
Let me try to assign it in game. So, going into settings, controls, and in the in-game settings, make sure you're on the wheel option and trying to assign it to the upshift and downshift. This doesn't seem to be working as nothing can be assigned. So, that confirms the sequential shifter doesn't work.
Finally, onto the HGP shifter. Like before, I've got it connected to the wheelbase and testing it out, it also doesn't seem to work. Let me try to assign it in game. So, again, going into settings, controls, and in the in-game settings, again, make sure you're on the wheel option. Looking through the options and there's no assignment for each of the gear, meaning that a shifter is not being picked up. So, it looks like this isn't supported either, which again, is a shame. I did reach out to Moza and they have said they're trying to work with the Forza Horizon 6 team to get this working, but in terms of support, Moza also has an Xbox game support list. I'll leave a link in the description below if you wanted to check that out for compatibility on other games. This is actually worse than the compatibility on Forza Horizon 5 where the HBP handbrake worked but the SGP sequential shifter and HGP H pattern shifter wasn't supported but nevertheless the general driving experience from the R3 on the Xbox was great with the wheel providing a good amount of feedback as you're driving around. Let's move on to the best wheel settings. If you didn't change any settings and went for the default the general experience wasn't too bad but it's definitely worth tweaking the settings to get the best experience. Let me first show the settings I'd recommend for road racing. There's a couple of parts to this. First is on the wheelbase and you can do this either from your mobile with their app or from the Moza Pit House software. I'll do it from the Moza Pit House software as it's easier to show. I actually selected the GT preset for Assetto Corsa and just make sure the wheel rotation is 900 degrees.
Let's move on to the in-game settings.
First looking in settings difficulty I've kept braking on anti-lock on, set steering to simulation and turn off both traction control and stability control.
Now move on to settings advanced controls but make sure you've selected this with the wheel and not the controller otherwise you won't be able to see all the options I'm showing here.
Leave all the options on default except for these. Start from the vibration scale set that to 0.5, force feedback scale set that to 0.8, center spring scale this affects how hard and fast your racing wheel will self-center set it to 0.1, wheel damper scale this will affect how heavy your racing wheel feels when you try to apply any steering lock set that to 0.8, mechanical trail scale this setting will affect how much torque and feedback you'll feel throughout the turning process set that to 0.9, force feedback minimum force this setting affects the boost or reduction in the minimum force required for the force feedback to activate. Lower settings will reduce the amount of force feedback that's produced through low force feedback scenarios. Set this to 1.0.
Force feedback load sensitivity, this setting affects where the maximum amount of force feedback that will be produced.
Set it to 1.1. Road feel scale, this setting will increase or decrease the amount of force that you feel from the vibrations and textures on the road surface. Set it to 0.6. Off-road feel scale, just like road feel, this setting will affect the intensity of the force feedback when you're driving off-road.
Set this to 0.3. Steering rotation, this is the car steering operating range. Set that to the same value as you've set in the Moza Pit House app, so. I found these settings generally worked well for me. Let me know how you get on with them and if you have any improvements, then drop them in the comments below so it can help other people, too. Over to drifting and worth noting, you'll need to pick up a car that's suitable for drifting. A good one to start off with is a Nissan Silvia that you initially get in the game. In the Moza Pit House software, I selected the drift preset for Assetto Corsa. Ensure the wheel rotation is set to 900° and take the max torque limit down to 2 Newton meters.
Let's move on to the in-game settings.
First looking in settings, difficulty, leave as before, so braking on, anti-lock on. Set steering to simulation, turn off both traction control and stability control and set shifter to automatic. Moving on to settings, advanced controls, again, make sure you select this with a wheel and not the controller. Leave all the options on default except to these. Set the vibration scale to 0.5. Set force feedback scale to 0.7. Set center spring scale to 0.1. Set wheel damper scale to 0.6. Set mechanical trail scale to 0.8.
Set force feedback minimum force to one.
Set force feedback low sensitivity to 1.1. Set road feel scale to 0.5. Set off-road feel scale to 0.3. And finally, set steering rotation to 900. Again, I found these settings work pretty well for me, but let me know how you get on with them. And if you have any improvements, then drop them in the comments below so it can help other people, too. So, there you have it.
You've come to the end of another video, and I hope it's helped anyone wondering about compatibility and best wheel settings. And if you have any questions on this, let me know in the comments below.
