[Short piano stream & announcement] It's been a whileAdded:
Oh, Hello. Hello.
Oh, hello and thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Oh, okay. People uh finally Hello everyone. It's been a while.
How are you guys doing?
Chill. Wait. Okay. Let me increase the volume.
Is this is this is this okay?
Okay, wait. Um, just in case I'll I'll I'll increase the like the volume. I don't know. Just me. I'll just increase too much volume. Hello, Dominic bits. Hello. Hello. Hello, smelly frog.
Hello, Blue. It's been a while.
Ouch.
So, since you guys are here, um, let me, uh, it's a little bit sudden, but I don't actually I didn't know how to start like I've never really done any like any kind of announcement, but if you guys are in Kio, uh, Kio 2020 on Jakarta, so my, uh, I'll be Yeah, I'll be there as well. So, if you want to meet uh I'll be on boot 80 uh 80 47 uh with uh the people uh with uh my friends from Chris Collection as well.
Good location. Let me let me just type in ad 47.
So can I let me pin this?
Okay. Um yeah, but yeah, unfortunately you'll be seeing my face on uh on the web location. Uh if you guys see there I'll be selling so I'll be selling I'll be re reselling maybe uh five poems of the picture this one is taken when uh it was being sold on sea uh sea sky see to sky exhibition but so it there would there wouldn't be like the sea sky stamp over here, but but the city would uh pretty much uh it would look the same.
So yeah, so please come by if you're uh in Jakarta.
And uh yeah, uh where should I put this?
I I'll be putting this here.
I'll put this here. Okay.
Yeah. Is there anyone that's uh I wonder if there is there anyone that that's going to go that's going to be on uh on Kio?
I mean I know some of them will be there from the chat but uh yeah I just want to know if there's anyone just let me know.
That's actually the only announcement the remaining I'm just going to like play some piano.
Um yeah.
3 hours of calming piano kind of solo.
Oh, I'll be just streaming for a bit though.
No, it's not going to be 3 hours. Uh, but yeah. Um, I'll be playing for a bit.
The dystopian tanuki.
You got the wrong guy.
You got the wrong guy. Mimi, you got the wrong guy.
Oh man, I'm getting rusty.
That's still good enough though.
Thanks.
Her music is really unique. Honestly, it just makes me love the piano so much more. Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
That is very sweet.
Um yes, I used to be able to play that um that piece a little bit better. A little bit like wait a lot a lot better. Maybe that that one I did post on Twitter a long time ago, but like I haven't really finished it.
So, it's just there sitting as a work in progress.
I wish I can post like you. Oh, thank you very much. Um, I believe you can do better. I think it's um Yeah. Uh, well, damn. I never really good at giving compliments.
But yeah, I um I think composing is a very what is it?
Uh it's something that you can always start from learning how other composers do it and then it's something that you can always expand from that.
Anyways, any plan for summer coming up?
Uh um not much actually right now though.
Right now I'm doing a commission at the moment. So that's pretty much it. Yeah, in terms of Y like music. Uh right now I'm focusing on just finishing a commission that I have. Um hopefully I get to release it.
Uh hopefully I get to release it on YouTube, but uh we'll see about that. I I've done some of the pieces. I I've done some work and and I think I can I can upload it soon, but we'll um again, it's nothing concrete.
Hopefully soon though. We'll see.
He's so nice. Yeah, hopefully.
Lately, I've been uh I've been stockpiling a lot of pieces. I haven't really uploaded. Uh the last one that I did uh was it singing windmill. Uh I had that I had that since January if I remember correctly.
So yeah, it's I wasn't sure uh if I would post it back then, but then like after uh five months, I was like, you know what? Let's just let's just let's just post it.
I haven't streamed for I haven't streamed for five months now. Now I feel nervous again.
I'm not usually this nervous, but now I'm feel I feel a bit nervous again because I I'm not used to uh now I'm not used to talking to like uh I'm not used to talking just by myself and reading the chat anymore.
I'm losing my grip on how to stream those chords. Oh, this is um minor 11 chord.
Uh see uh hey wait let me just let me just so uh you see over here.
So this is the root node.
This is the fifth This is the ninth and um this is the third. So you can see the third right. This is the third chord. So basically take a minor chord uh uh you know you you you shift the the third up an octave.
And wait what is this? I forgot.
Right. This is the seventh third, seventh, and then this is the uh what is this?
Hold on.
Oh, this is the 11th. Yeah.
So, uh Okay. Okay. So, the easy way to build this chord is first you form a what is this?
Um a sus 9 chord. Um wait a sus chord but with you know this voicing and then after that uh you build you make another note a semmit tone away from the ninth and then you just stack fifth. You just stack the fifth twice and that's it.
Hey, I forgot how to wait.
Oh, right.
That's one way to practice it.
Um yeah uh I remember learning this one. It was fun as hell. Sounds good also. Yeah.
This is like uh the the the minor 11 especially with this voicing can just kind of spam it, you know, kind of you can just kind of shift it shift it uh to whichever.
So like okay, let's say I have this this one, right? Like I can just Okay, let's let's put a minor let's put let's shift this chord a minor third down. One, two, three. Right.
See, it's it's it sounds good. It sounds good already.
Okay. Let's just let's just shift this thing. One, two, three, um, four, five.
See like uh it is a very very very flexible uh chord movement like a very very flexible chord.
You can you can move you can just basically use the same chord and move it to any you know any uh and then just just shift it one another. It would sound it would sound good.
Right.
Then like, okay, let's let's do this again. Um, and then one, two, three.
Right.
It it is it's such a flexible chord.
Uh minor 11 is like especially this kind of voicing.
Uh you can just kind of try it out like moving to one another.
It would it would sound good.
Right. Um, let me show you the Okay. Uh, okay. You can just look at the voicing.
Maybe maybe an archive. I'll keep the archive. So, you know, just uh we can just you can just uh remember the the voicings. Uh you it's really usable.
And also there's like a smaller form like this.
you know. Uh but yeah, it's basically very usable.
Very usable. I spam uh if you uh if you look through the stuff that I write, you you'll see how much I overuse this thing.
So yeah uh yeah please do overuse it if you if you want that is it has a very uh it has a very dark color and also like it's um yeah it has it's a pretty dark but also at the same time um how is it yeah I I don't know how to describe the chord quality but Well, you know when you and we know when you listen to it, right?
Oops.
Yeah, it is. It is a very o at least this voicing is a very open chord, right? Your chords is that they sound really open. This is say Yeah, this is an open chord. Very open chord.
Um, also when you write stuff, do you just do it out of thin air?
or do you stick to a certain scale? Um, I have a habit to always start from C# minor, but then uh it it's I I I don't think it's a good habit to be honest. Uh but but I always what is it like I don't really in a single piece I usually don't just stick to one you know to one scale.
Uh it's always good to move around from one scale to another to uh it it actually adds a lot of color like modulation adds a lot of color. Uh and it's something that you can use over and over again.
Um, so maybe if you see this uh some of the things that I write, maybe you can keep track of this like of the of the tonal center. Then you will see how it will move it will move uh slowly to another tonal center over time. Uh but that is yeah that is how I usually do it.
Yeah. So, I recommend um I also recommend looking into Kashiwa Marumi if you know that composer uh for especially regarding uh to like uh moving you know like modulating while you compose like you start from one place and you end up in another uh another tonal uh center like another scale when at the end of the song like how how how how they like how it travels from one another. I I really recommend you look into Kasha Marumi.
Yeah. So that is a really good example.
Okay. Like for example, um I don't know if you've heard this one.
So that line right it starts from C major C# C C# sharp major C sharp minor and this is uh what is this? What is this? I forgot. G major.
Yeah.
G major. This is a G major.
So you see how the key move uh in a one in a single melodic line.
Right.
Yeah. For leading to another scale to another key to another key. Yeah. Uh that's a good way to see it. Vortex.
Hello.
It's been 10 years.
It's been 10 years.
practice more. I I think I've tried that before, but it sounded really disconnected.
Oh, okay. I'll I'll I'll I'll explain that uh in a second, but uh I I'll remember to answer that. I'll try to answer that.
Uh It's a good I'm here to listen to take notes. I'm music producer who loves piano but never learn how to play on hand. Uh thank you. Thank you for stopping by. Uh I hope there's something that you can that is useful for you. So yeah, to be honest, your explanation of skill changes really open my mind, but legit I've been saying it's something that I can't do. Um, so, um, yes, I'm I'm going to I'll I'll try to answer that to, um, Um yeah, hey, what's the announcement?
Uh yeah, I'll be on I probably you already know, but um yeah, I'll be on call with with Len and Foot soon.
uh will be like will will be on the boot uh on project cont.
Um what's that's so hype? Yeah, I'll be on the I'll be on the boot. Uh, and I'll be selling I'll be selling this. I'll be selling this. I'll be selling this. I'll be selling five home. Yeah. The the the con will be on 16 to 17.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I get my CD. It's 30,000 USD.
No, I'm just kidding. It's It's 100,000 rupia. So, um I think it's a little bit more than $5.
So, yeah, can just uh yeah, you can just get it uh if you're in Kuruto's house, man.
Uh so okay one more thing is that on the CD I think if you guys have bought the band cam there is all there is one additional piece that I write just for the B specifically for the band cam and the CD uh that is not on YouTube or in streaming platform uh it's called paper crane. So yeah, if you if you bought the CD or if you bought the webcam, you can you can get it. Yeah. I'm I'm doing the marketing job. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Hello, Kaya.
Kayabu real.
I wish Kayloo is real.
If only Kayabu is real.
only his real.
All right. So, wait, I forgot to answer the question. Uh, so how do you move uh between one key to another uh key from one key key signature to another key signature?
Um, well, there are like a lot of ways, right?
Um I think you just need to you can easily like it's that okay uh I'm just going to give you an example which is an example that I've been I've been using since day zero I think especially maybe Kaya is already like know what I'm going to say but anyway um so for example if want to change key. Uh there's this thing called chromatic median.
Um for example, uh this is just the one way to do it. So chromatic median is basically uh a chord movement.
Let's say that I'm on I'm on uh you know uh this is a major.
So, okay, let's say you're in a you're uh using an A major chord and a chromatic median movement is uh oh what also one more thing let's say uh this is an A major chord in E major scale. So it's like right this is E major.
Oh, wait. Let me let me show you. Let me show the whole key, right? That's the E major. So, this is a four in E major. Uh, an A major chord is a four in an E major scale, right? So um a chromantic median is um a non uh diietonic chord that has that share one one one similar uh one similar uh what is it one similar note to the previous chord. So for example in this case I can give you an example C a C major chord. It shares the same E over here. So if we we can just right. Oh, that's a good like Right.
He think he's the front right now. I could never I could never.
And of course like you can use you know the seven chord.
So you can you can kind of like play around.
Uh this is I the way I usually say it is uh flat six.
Yeah, he changed tech. Okay, I just play all chords in the distance, right? Pretty much.
Um, but like this is like, okay, this is how you can just do something like that, right? for simple uh you're doing like see like over there it's already like you're moving the scale like so I'm I'm doing this so 2 3 4 2 3 4 2 3 and then like doing the chromatically So now now I'm operating on no like I'm operating on G major, right?
So when you're basically I I mean I think this like one easy way to see it.
Sometimes you can do like once you do a borrow like one once you do a a borrow chord or like you you can just kind of like oh maybe I can just you know use the the you just continue through the scale of that you know of that borrowed chord or of that or that uh what is it nonatietonic chord or something like that.
Hello, River Cat.
Oh, Santa. Hello.
Oh my god, the Tanuk key. The myth and the legend. You got the wrong guy. No, no, wrong, wrong guy.
I think the hardest part of modating is that most composers are too scared of feeling it too abrupt, disconnected. But I think it's important to understand that's the point in a way.
Yeah, it could be could could be one of the points. Could be one of the points.
Secondary dominance, chromatic medians, common chord chord tone modulation.
It's important to just own the abruptness. Yeah, it could be could be one way to do it though. You can do it without feeling it feel as if it's abrupt you know like for example that yeah like this is this is starting from E major now it doesn't feel like I'm modulating but I'm already I already am modulating in this Right.
This is E major.
Right. Let's see.
Or this is not this is already more important.
something like that.
Um, this is uh because it's played live, I think. Uh, not really. Not really. It's uh I mean it could be one of the aspect but it's not always you know it's uh if you if the other the Yeah.
Okay. Time to spam random cord and try to voice lead them. Honestly, that's a good practice. I think we're just casually create master. Oh, this is already I already write that by. So, it's it's already a finished piece. So, yeah, it's it's not it's not a improvis improvisation.
Sorry, I've played keyboard instead of actual piano twice this week and I already feel my fingers losing strength.
I can relate. I no I've been you know like when I was in Korea I Kaya when I was in Korea I have like Yamama P45 right I play Yama I play that basically for the like for five years and then when I went home uh when I'm in Indonesia right now I tried like playing my acoustic piano I I can't play anything I I I immediately I immediately lost my touch to the acoustic piano.
Thanks to stop for inspiring me to make bad music.
Yeah.
Nice.
I make music, but whenever I make piano, it's always come off as really cut.
Yeah. It's uh it's that is that is composing habit I guess. I I I I honestly I do have some habit that I can't let go a combo of finish piece even every improve is secretly a finished piece anyways right I agree it is a it is secretly a finished piece Um I think what was it? Stargazing.
It was almost like improvised. The whole thing was almost improvised.
Hardcore find a go hard. Loki.
Oh my god. Hardcore.
Hardcore crash.
Hello, Tanko. Hello. Hello.
Long time no see.
What else should I play?
Hello Denzy.
You should make this an EDM session. No, it will. You won't enjoy it.
No, but your style with hardcore would go hard. Not going to lie.
Yeah, I've been been procrastinating hardcore since day one.
Tob step.
No.
Heat. Heat.
Pretty good. Not enough aap.
Thank you. Thank you for my hyper fixation. Oh, thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. Yeah, that was underwater train.

Oh, okay. Where's the sound goodizer?
What is this sound sound goodizer the cool kids been talking about?
I Where is it again? Oh, there we go.
There we go.
Oh, you can you can immediately hear the like the hammer that is not clipping. That is just a mechanical sound. The pedal and see It's just louder.
Okay, let's play.
I'm sorry.
The [ __ ] is dynamic?
distortion. Good thrust. 100 velocity.
Good thrust.
Then I'm starting the fingers. Anyone know that they can stop them?
Unless one million compressors.
The the chat is starting people. Okay, you guys are scaring me.
the answer on piano.
What is I I don't even know what that is.
Plus 30 decibel in the clipper for crystal clear undistorted loudness.
Oh well well well yeah I I actually did install a guitar.
Um everyone It's loading.
It's loading.
Oh, no.
No. Wait. How do you I don't think it's supposed to do that.
Hey, is this possible?

Oh, wait. Actually, I'm kind of curious.
No, it's not it's not that good.
Okay. Okay. I'll just play on piano.
Wait, wait. Oh, his guitar.
Um, I can't do it anymore.
All right.
Oh, yo yo. Hello.

Uh, okay. I'll just I'll just play Flurry Pathways.
Um, wait guys, what's the announcement?
Okay, let me uh It's just a So, basically me, Hutsoon, and Men and yeah, me and Len uh are going to be on Jakarta on a Kio.
It's a convention in Jakarta.
So uh uh there will be two like uh there will be like a there will be a I'll be I'll be staying on prismatic collection boot while at it. Uh I'm going to sell my CD uh five bombs.
Um yeah yeah yeah.
It's uh it's a little bit more than $5.
It's 100,000 rupiah.
Sounds like a lot, but it's not. Yeah, it's it's less than five. It's kind of It's a little bit more than $5 or Yeah.
So, that's it. That's it. Yeah. The the convention will be on 16 to 17.
M yeah, I'll be playing one more piece.
A dollar per piece. I see.
