[00:00:01]Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, part one of two. Morning with G, breakfast, and out the door for drop-off.

[00:00:07]Usual work day. I looked out my window and noticed the same guy doing something with my fence. I went outside. He was painting it, not stripping it. I told him to stop immediately. He told me that she said, referring to the owner of the house, not mine, the backyard neighbor, that this is her fence.

[00:00:26]I said, "You need to check with both people."

[00:00:29]The same thing I said yesterday. He stopped.

[00:00:31]I checked with my brother. He said, "Call the police. That is vandalism."

[00:00:36]So, I called the police.

[00:00:37]They came and told me this is a civil matter, and there's not much they can do.

[00:00:42]I could then go talk to her.

[00:00:44]I showed the officer the cashed check I paid to the guy who built the fence there last year.

[00:00:51]He came back and said, "She says it is her fence." I said, "I showed you the payment." He nodded.

[00:00:58]He said the best he could do was add call notes, so they'd have some record of what happened today.

[00:01:06]I thanked him for his time.

[00:01:08]I went back to work.

[00:01:09]During that exchange, she wrote me a nasty message. Actually, it was uh during the call to get the officer here.

[00:01:17]Uh enough about the enough about the fence. Just be a good neighbor.

[00:01:21]I'm tired of this. I have too much going on in my life.

[00:01:25]She's the one who decided to paint the fence. It's not hers. My luck with two black women, two for two. Just the numbers.

[00:01:33]How dare someone hold them accountable?

[00:01:36]You do not want to hear about the fence?

[00:01:38]Then ask before doing something to something that's not your something.

[00:01:45]Anyway, the kids had their first chess class today, so that was exciting for them.

[00:01:50]And it gave me a little extra time to work before leaving.

[00:01:54]That said, I left only 15 minutes later than I usually would.

[00:01:58]I wanted to be there just in case E proves to be too young.

[00:02:02]I got there and left let the staff know I was there if E needed to come out, and that they should just give me a call if anything is needed. I'll be in the parking lot.
