Farmers work to protect crops as drought persists across Arkansas

[00:00:00]Good morning, everyone. It's a beautiful day here at Lynam Family Farm. We're talking about how crops are doing in Arkansas right now based on extreme weather. If you didn't know, the entire state of Arkansas is in a drought right now that can range from moderate to severe depending on what part of the state you are in, but farmers here at Lynam Family Farms in Alma are taking measures to protect their crops. For example, these blackberries that you see right here are located on trellises that can rotate. So, depending on what the weather is like so that it's cold or hot, the crop can actually rotate be rotated to be in or out of the sun. Now, that's just one method that the farmers use here. They also use irrigation ponds and have an indoor area where raspberries can grow and they can actually control the temperature based on whether the outside is hot or cold.
