President Trump polling the crowd at the White House yesterday asking about both uh JD Vance and Marco Ruvio for president. Uh he said together they would actually make a dream team. Here's how it all played out though.

[00:03:24]>> Who's Who's it going to be? Is it going to be JD? Is it going to be somebody else? I don't know who does anybody have Okay, let's go. You ready? Who likes J D Vance?

[00:03:41]All right, sounds like a good ticket. JD and it's a perfect That was a perfect ticket. By the way, I do believe that's a dream team, but these are minor details. That does not mean you have my endorsement under any circumstance.

[00:04:04]Uh I guys, I'm sorry. is I watched the video and I've watched it several times now. I think JD Vance got the a bit of the larger applause. It was, you know, close, but I think JD Vance got the larger applause there. What do you think?

[00:04:20]>> Yeah. But I have to say I love that President Trump does he'll do this here when he's home and he'll just stop dinner and everybody he wants a poll all of a sudden. Wants to know what everybody thinks. It's one of my favorite things about him is the way that he does seem to care about what the American people think. He's always asking those kinds of questions. I think that's important. I don't think we can know who our president is now. If you look back at history at this point in time when we were looking at people, we had no idea. However, so much has changed with the Trump administration, David, that you know, it almost does seem like if he wants to nominate somebody, the money is going to get behind him. The establishment will get behind him. the new establishment, I guess you'd call them. Um, and um, and he could, I guess, do a kind of a um, an anointing there, if you will. David, >> yes, he's such a showman, right? I mean, come on. Let's do this poll now.

[00:05:18]>> Yeah, I I will say this. Uh, you know, funny. He says it could be a great ticket. Okay, sure. That's true. Here's the follow-up question. Who's leading that ticket? uh by the way uh which of course it wouldn't be JD Vance I mean it would in other words JD Vance wouldn't be vice president yet again you don't want to be a bridesmaid twice so I'm assuming that means Vance and Rubio in that order having said that Rubio has said he is not going to run if JD Vance uh runs uh okay can we just are the cameras still rolling okay yeah right gotcha Marco if President Trump tells you hey I think you should run I guarantee you Rubio is going to run and My sense of it is, and I've se you guys know I've said this and I'll say it again. I said it six months ago before everybody started talking about Rubio.

[00:06:03]You can check the tape. I believe that Marco Rubio is not only going to run, I think President Trump's going to endorse him. I truly believe that. I think that's what's going to happen. Put this tape down. What's this today? May 12th, 2026. I truly believe that's going to happen. If it doesn't happen, then I never said it. And uh I never mind.

[00:06:21]>> Well, life is ironic. I'll tell you because I remember months of trying to talk my husband out of Marco Rubio to please come over and support Donald Trump and that was my hardest challenge.

[00:06:29]He loved Rubio uh when Trump was running and Trump gave him merciless grief about his support for Marco Rubio for the longest time. So, it's really kind of funny just to see this thing go. What I never thought I'd see is Donald Trump standing there talking up Marco. Did you little Marco? I mean, can we Yeah. All right. We should get >> on nobody's bingo card. Yeah, >> little Marco. You went from little Marco to pretty impressive.

[00:06:55]>> All right. Uh, but America first, that crowd, they're going to have their own candidate for sure as well. That's going to be an interesting interesting run.

[00:07:04]All right. Today's Bible verse goes like this. Matthew 11:28. Come to me all of you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. It's nice to think about, and I try to think about this one at night when I can't go to sleep. I love this. when you can't go to sleep.

[00:07:25]Right, Terrence? All right. President Trump says the ceasefire with Iran is currently on life support. Take a look.

[00:07:31]>> It's unbelievably weak. I would say I would call it the weakest right now.

[00:07:38]After reading that piece of garbage they sent us, I didn't even finish reading it. I said, "I'm not going to waste my time reading it." I would say it's one of the weakest right now. It's on life support. They understand these are all medical people and Dr. Oz life support is not a good thing. Do you agree? I prognostic.

[00:07:56]>> I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support where the doctor walks in and says, "Sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living."

[00:08:11]>> All right, let's bring in Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn. Senator, uh, you know, a lot to take in here. A lot a lot going on. I just want you to open how you want to open kind of, uh, what your thoughts are on this entire situation.

[00:08:27]>> What we have to realize is Donald Trump has said from the get-go that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. And he said, "We're going to take out their navy. We're going to take out their capacity for missiles." And that is what he has done. Now, let's see how they're going to turn this uranium over so that they will never have a nuclear weapon.

[00:08:54]And that is something we should do for our children and our Middle East and indeed the whole world is going to be safer to make certain that Iran never has the ability to again sponsor and support all of these terrorist proxy organizations whether it's Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, or any of the other splinter groups that are They are creating turmoil around the globe. So, President Trump is dedicated to this mission. He is supportive of the men and women who are carrying out this mission. And just as always, he delivers on the promises he makes. I think you will see him deliver on this. They will get the straight open and Iran will turn over their enriched uranium.

[00:09:52]Well, we can only hope so. Uh I think it's pretty funny that uh President Putin over in Russia says, "We'll hold on to the enriched uranium if you want for." It's like, "Oh, that's hilarious."

[00:10:02]Yeah, that that's really good stuff. Uh like he's a stand-up comedian now. Uh Senator Blackburn, uh let me talk to you about this letter that you have put out calling for the Secret Service to basically clean up their act. Uh you have new practices for vetting, vetting, and hiring. Uh, of course, the alleged shooter at the White House Correspondent Center pled not guilty. So, talk to us a little bit about this letter that you put out.

[00:10:25]>> Yes, indeed. After this latest assassination attempt, I felt it was important to just set the more or less to establish this premise that there is rot in in the Secret Service. And when you look at a bureaucracy that has become insular in some ways, it's important to begin to root this out and to say, "Okay, there is a mission to be accomplished here." And indeed, those that responded to the attack did a phenomenal job, an absolutely phenomenal job. But David, you have to look at the organization and say, how did it get to the point that you were missing some components about keeping the protectes safe? How could you have people that were casing the area? You look at the video footage and you see the young man casing this area and you realize this this criminal is walking through here and no one stopped. No one was in charge of securing that space long before the event began and the attendees began to arrive.

[00:11:46]Senator Blackburn, I'd like to switch gears a little bit and talk about protecting our children. You really have been at the forefront of that effort. Uh you've uh pushed lots of legislation.

[00:11:56]Want to bring your attention to this headline about the Senate Judiciary Committee. The headline reads, "From the courtroom to Congress, why landmark social media verdicts demand federal action to protect kids online." Uh there's a subcommittee hearing tomorrow on this issue. I believe you're going to be part of that hearing. Is that correct?

[00:12:13]>> Yes.

[00:12:14]>> Yes. I am indeed going to be uh there and helping lead that hearing. You know, it is imperative that we realize that social media platforms have proven they cannot police themselves. They cannot seem to get their act together. The reason is they look at our children as the product when they're online. Indeed, Meta has assigned a dollar value to the amount of time that a child spends online and they have a dollar value per child per year. That is disgusting. We need to put in place rules and regulations so that there is one set of rules for the entire ecosystem so that parents know when their children are online. they are not going to be tracked by perpetrators and predators and pedophiles and groomers, that they're not going to meet drug dealers and sex traffickers when they're in the virtual space. So, having that standard of care, that duty of care is an imperative. And we've seen this brought forward from the two different juries, two different states, New Mexico and California, two different trials. And every industrial sector in this country has safety standards except the virtual space and there it is the wild west and our children are being harmed.

[00:17:21]President Trump is set to leave for China today. He'll meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xihinping, with trade issues and the war in Iran being among the major issues the two leaders will discuss. Leading up to this week's highstakes talk, Secretary of State Marco Rubio along with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant have uh have uh stepped up, excuse me, calls for China to help reopen the Straight of Hormuz.

[00:17:47]It's in the communist country's interest to do so as China is the world's biggest buyer of Iranian oil. The US commander-in-chief's trip to Beijing marks the first visit by a US president in nearly a decade. Meanwhile, 47's trip across the Pacific comes as a California mayor is facing federal charges for acting as an illegal agent of China.

[00:18:09]Monday, the Justice Department charged Arcadia Mayor Eileene Wong, who immediately resigned her position. The Justice Department says she also has agreed to plead guilty in a related case that carries a maximum of 10 years in prison. In its statement announcing the charges, the DOJ writing, "By her own admission, Eileen Wong secretly served the interests of the Chinese government." Wong's plea agreement says the 58-year-old did China's bidding between 2020 and 2022. She worked in uh she worked with the US-based individuals in order to run purported news websites to promote Chinese propaganda here in the United States. One of her co-conspirators is currently serving a 4-year prison sentence for similar charges.

[00:18:55]President Trump says he'll move to suspend the federal gas tax in order to help Americans deal with the current sky-high gas prices. However, in order for the president to suspend the gas tax, Congress would have to approve that move. The Trump idea should have bipartisan support as lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have previously supported the idea, saying that it would actually provide much neededed relief for Americans who rely on their cars to go to work and to get daily routines done. A reprieve would be especially helpful coming into the summer vacation months. The average prices for a gallon of gas hovering around $4.50 50 right now. We actually were paying just under $3 a gallon right before the war with Iran started. The current federal gas tax is $18.4 on gas and 24.4 cents on diesel. That tax provides $23 billion in revenue for the federal highway and public transit program. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now, let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Adrien Hernandez standing by with what you can expect as you head out. Adrian, good morning to you.

[00:20:03]>> Good morning, Terren. Yeah, we got a few uh few little spots to watch, especially down in the sunshine state. This was a video from yesterday, Terrence, out in South Carolina where the winds were absolutely whipping. I think one of the biggest uh concerns for me in this video is just how this chair is not even moving. Notice how the winds are whipping. That thing has to be just bolted down to the ground. That's one strong chair out into South Carolina. We have a severe weather outlook for today across portions of the Midwest down in the central plains. Even another one down into Florida. That's a little bit more concerning as we actually will have a small risk. It's only 2% but a potential for an isolated spin-up tornado from Daytona Beach down through Orlando, Melbourne, even all the way down into West Palm Beach hugging that I 95 corridor. Elsewhere, a little bit further north, we'll have fire weather concerns to deal with red flag warnings across the Dakotas and out towards Nebraska. Not the only spot dealing with fire though. Actually down into the Sunshine State dealing with several fires. Here's the 172 Avenue fire out in Dade County out in Florida. And this was a look on Sunday. The Pemroke Pines Fire. The Broward Pemroke Pikes PD showing this. The Broward County fire.

[00:21:10]This is the Max Road fire that burned over 11,000 acres were containment.

[00:21:15]We're still working on it. Definitely getting better. And with more rainfall in the forecast for the Sunshine State, things are going to be looking a lot better. High temperatures today, Terrence. I hate to tell you, you got a high temperature 80. Actually, why do I hate to tell you you like this? 82 is good for you. This is a good thing.

[00:24:34]All right. That is Pete Hegth, the Department of War SE Secretary Department of War, uh, testifying this morning at a House Budget Committee hearing, House Appropriations Committee.

[00:24:44]Let's listen in for a little bit.

[00:24:46]>> Budget request put forward by the president will build upon the historic $1 trillion FY26 topline and will continue to reverse the four years of underinvestment and mismanagement of the Biden administration.

[00:25:00]The $ 1.5 trillion budget will ensure the United States continues to maintain the world's most powerful and capable military as we grapple with a complex threat environment across multiple theaters. Not to mention, the budget also includes a historic troop pay increase, building on the pay increases this committee has given, and the budget eliminates all poor or failing barracks.

[00:25:24]Quality of life for our troops is front and center in this budget. By supercharging our industrial capacity and transforming how the department does business, we are restoring American commercial dominance at a pace unseen in generations. Transforming the defense industrial base from the broken, slowmoving systems of the past. We have flipped the Pentagon acquisition process from a bureaucratic model to a business model. Decisively moving from an acquisition environment paralyzed by bureaucratic red tape into an outcomesdriven organization focused on delivering the most for taxpayer dollars. And Mr. Chairman, you're right.

[00:26:03]It's a war of attrition against the Pentagon.

[00:26:05]>> All right, that is Pete Hegathth at a House Appropriations Committee hearing this morning live here on American Sunrise. Let's bring in Rav correspondent, the host of Breaking Point, which you can see on the weekends here on RAB. That would be David Zir, who of course is at the Pentagon for us often. Uh David, we've got the Secretary of War uh basically trying to convince Congress and others uh that $ 1.5 trillion budget request, which would be double uh what it was previously. So, this is a hefty request by the White House and with that would come some cuts in domestic spending because the military budget would be so high. Your thoughts this morning? Good morning.

[00:26:46]>> Good morning, David. Uh, yes, and it it's a huge number. Uh, but it also includes in there uh increased pay for on a sliding scale enlisted and officers uh in the US military, but especially housing uh across the country. I remember growing up visiting some bases and I I saw poverty. So there's no reason why our troops are on food stamps or other ever or uh in you know conditions that aren't at the highest standard. Um so that's a big part of it and there's a lot of increased spending for other things in there. Um autonomous vehicles uh UAVs onmanned aerial uh vehicles. Um I will be in Indiana Camp Adterbury tomorrow for a drone uh demonstration. and uh it's the largest drone testing facility in the United States. Um big focus on that. Um it's a different uh complex um environment out there. We're operating on a wartime footing uh in accordance with Trump's executive orders from last year, at least four of them which were codified um uh in the NDAA. Uh very important to adapt to the changing threat environment out there. Dave, >> and to your point, David, uh that $1.5 trillion, a good bulk of that is going towards building ships or at least the ask would go towards building ships and that sort of thing. And this really, you talked about this being on a wartime footing. It's really ramping up uh our our posture and our ability to respond to hotspots around the country. That's a big part of this ask, is it not?

[00:28:19]It >> it is. and and pertaining to the Trump battleships uh that will be built uh Bath Iron Works in Maine kicking out DDG uh guided missile destroyers uh as we've seen have been the most effective in the Strait of Hormuz. Um it's really important. We also are ramping up we're tripling the capacity of our Pack 3 missile system production. Those are the intermediate height missiles between the Patriots and the THAADS. you know, dads are 12 million a pop. Pack threes are four million a pop. Patriots are, you know, a little less. Uh, but these are expensive systems. Um, again, there is a changing threat environment out there. I think that um Trump has been trying to get cooperation from private industry in cooperation uh with the military and academia as well to get stuff at speed and scale delivered to our troops. And Hit always talks about the bureaucracy in the Pentagon. It it's a big number.

[00:29:15]There's no doubt about it. Um but uh as we see uh the world is changing.

[00:29:22]>> It is certainly uh Dave David uh Texas Governor Greg Abbott ruling out a big old Texas style welcome mat for New York businesses after New York City Mayor Mom Donnie. I like to call him call me mom Donnie singled out billionaire investor Kin Griffin in a social media video pushing higher taxes on the wealthy.

[00:29:41]Abbott says Texas offers lower taxes, fewer restrictions, and a businessfriendly climate as some Wall Street firms consider expanding out of New York. Uh, it's, you know, it's okay.

[00:29:52]You know, if they want to put more New Yorkers in Texas, I'm kind of for that because it sort of changes the demographic a little bit when they land here in Florida. Um, but New York is bad and people are leaving. So, uh, because it's getting worse and, uh, so I wanted your take on all of that.

[00:30:12]Yeah. And Ken Griffin saying he's going to expand his offices in Miami. And New York for the first time in a long time doesn't have a deputy mayor for economic development. There is a deputy mayor for economic justice. New York City has the highest state corporate taxes and highest individual taxes in the nation.

[00:30:28]There's an exodus going on. 5,000 businesses left New York City last year alone. 891 major corporations. New York City lost 20,000 jobs in 2025 and 72% of 500 employers surveyed say in New York that the economic conditions aren't good. He wants to raise the corporate income tax from 7.25 to 11 and a half.

[00:30:49]And remember the state income taxes cap out at like 11 or so. He wants to raise corporate tax rates on the financial sector from 9 to 10.8%. Um, and he wants to raise it for non-financial related companies. And then he wants to take the wealth tax intergenerational wealth in New York City from 16 to 60%. And the most egregious uh you know uh tax increase also is anyone making an additional 2% tax on anyone making a million dollars per year or more. Um they have some serious issues ahead of them. It's only going to get worse, but it's by design because Mdani is definitely a socialist.

This deadly antivirus outbreak linked to the cruise ship uh it has left three passengers dead with at least six lab confirmed cases according to the World Health Organization. Health officials say the two evacuated passengers which were a French woman and an American also tested positive. Though the WHO says the Americans lab results were inconclusive. So lots of mixed information. But you know what? We don't believe anything they say anyway because we saw what they said during COVID. So with that, let's bring in chief of disaster and emergency medicine for the wellness company, Dr. Kelly Victory. Um Dr. V. Victory, the media is in overdrive reporting on this cruise ship infected with Hivirus over the first week. Look, I don't trust anything that anybody who is called an official says.

[00:36:28]I really don't. I I go straight to talk to all of my trusted um doctors, adviserss. A lot of them aren't doctors, which I also think is a really important part of this because I think Rockerfeller Medicine screwed up doctors like Rockefeller Medicine screwed up people in psychology like me. I realized I got out of college, knew almost nothing, and I needed to actually unlearn most of what they told me uh during my degree getting uh to actually be able to help people in a real sense.

[00:36:56]And I think it's the same for doctors.

[00:36:59]But with this hivirus, you know, I guess my concern is over and over again. The answer I want is did they do gain of function? Is gain of function part of this? Because if it is, Dr. Victory, if there's a possibility that gain of function is a thing with this hand virus, then we're talking about a whole different thing. And it really doesn't matter what the World Health Organization is telling us about what what is happening on a cruise ship right now.

[00:37:25]Well, all good points, Gina, and thanks for having me. Let me unpack this a little bit. A haunt virus is a very real virus. It is not a respiratory virus like COVID. It is carried largely by the feces, urine, and saliva of infected rodents. Uh although it can have a relatively high mortality rate, it is very very uncommon. Uh since we started surveillance on haunt virus in the United States back in 1993, there have been less than 900 reported cases in the US. That comes out to less than 30 cases per year. So although a lot of people do things like sweep out musty cabins and attics and garages where there may be rodent droppings, the cases the incidence of Honda virus is very very low. Furthermore, it has virtually zero spread from human to human. Although we are told that the Andes strain can spread human to human, it has not been proven. Now, let's go to what happened on this ship. It is very very likely that the persons who got infected on the ship were in fact because of contact with infected rodent feces or or other uh bodily fluids. So, it is although again that we have some story about people going bird watching at a dump and possibly uh bringing the virus back with them to the ship, that's not likely what happened. And as a result, what the WHO has done defies all logic. The worst thing they could have done was to quarantine those people for all those days on the ship in their cabins rebreathing that recirculated air that likely had contamination from rodent product. So that was the worst thing they could have done. Furthermore, I'm with you. I don't trust much of what they said after the debacle of COVID.

[00:39:22]this idea of quote asymptomatic spread and there are people who are now quote weekly testing positive and the faulty PCR tests once again being employed. All of these smack things smacked me of over dramatization, fear-mongering in taking advantage of something to cause fear.

[00:39:42]We're already seeing those same photo ops with people in hazmat suits, very dark and somber. And then you pan over and there's somebody the cameraman isn't wearing any protective gear at all. So it looks a little bit more like theater to me in many ways. With regard to whether or not there's gain of function uh studies or or manipulations gone on, it's simply too early to tell. At this juncture, there's no reason to believe that this is acting any way other than it would act normally in nature. On the other hand, should we start to see rapid uh personto person, humanto human transmission of that, then yes, I will start saying I smell a rat because something isn't right there. This right now we have a handful of cases. Uh we have every reason to believe this is a naturally occurring virus. But when you start looking at, as I said, the over dramatization, the non-stop news coverage of this, the idea of, you know, they've already marched out people like Dr. Deborah Burks, um, the scarf lady who played such a pivotal uh, forward- facing role during COVID, and you start hearing things like asymptomatic spread and the need to quarantine healthy people, locking people in their cabins unnecessarily. keep you know it's when I say uh keep very very much an open eye to this because uh we we've seen this happen before and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried it again.

[00:41:14]Fortunately on the last thing I will say is there are ways to treat havirus infection particularly if done early. We have every reason to believe although no huge studies have been done on it that simple repurposed medications like the ones we used during COVID uh hydroxychloricquin and ivormectin those are medications that target singlestranded mRNA viruses co that's what covid was and that's what hto virus is so we have every reason to believe that those same medications may be highly effective in treating haunt virus if used early.

[00:41:53]>> Okay. Um the gain of function part really bothers me. The other thing that bothers me about this Dr. Victory honestly is that uh there is a vaccine in development. I hear the word vaccine literally my mind just goes nuts. I I just I I have PTSD and I think we do collectively. I'll tell you something though. They are going to play hell. government is going to play hell if they think they are gonna get the people who woke up during COVID to wear their stupid masks and to do their stupid quarantines and all the things. So that's why the things you were saying about just how to stay healthy, how to prevent it. Is there a preventative something we should be doing just in case they have been playing with gain and function gain and function and just in case uh they've developed a vaccine that will really just help spread it which I think is ex is precisely what the vaccine during co did.

[00:42:50]>> Well you're you're right and it's not just one vaccine. There are actually 13 vaccines for haunt virus in the pipeline. So think about that. It makes you wonder if they knew that this was coming. With regard to what to do for prevention, that's one of the reasons we suggest that people should have uh a medical kit that contains some prescription medications, some prescription antivirals like hydroxychloricquin, ivormectin, plus steroids, including inhaled steroids that help you to treat a number a very broad range of potential respiratory infections.

[00:43:25]>> Okay, I don't want to interrupt you, but we're almost out of time. Which kit is that that we should have?

[00:43:30]Well, the contagion kit, the black one that has actually inhaled steroids or the blue, that one right there, the blue kit that has medications like Ivormectin included with it, you have on hand just in case you are right or your suspicions turn out to be true that there's been some shenanigans going on here that they've manipulated this and it's really their intention to spread uh this this infection wider than it is. At this juncture, as I said, there's no reason to think that that's happening. It is appears to be acting like a native virus would, but keep your eyes open and be prepared. It's what I call, you know, it's it's cautious preparation, rational readiness.

[00:44:12]>> Yeah, exactly. Be cautious, don't be compliant, and maybe uh pray for the cruise industry because I I don't know how they're going to do this year. Dr. Kelly Victory, thanks for being with us.

[00:48:06]>> So remember the straight of Hormuz was not closed at the beginning of this conflict. This conflict has been a massive disaster and Donald Trump himself is an embarrassment on the world stage. I hear it from allies all around the world. He has got us into a trap and we're effectively in a stalemate with Iran. And the people that are paying the price, those American military, hundreds injured, 14 lives lost, and the American people collectively were spending billions of dollars more in the price spikes that we've seen as a result of this. This president has no way out.

[00:48:39]This is going to go on for months and that pain is going to continue to be felt by people he promised to lower prices for and keep us out of foreign entanglements.

[00:48:50]>> Let's now bring in Dr. Gina, David, and Terrence for more here. Uh, Terrence, want to get your thoughts on this first.

[00:48:56]To call this an embarrassment on the world stage is just so frustrating for me to hear because especially during a time of war. All Americans should come together. I I I understand that he has criticisms, but come on.

[00:49:08]>> Yeah. I mean, it's it's unfortunate that they do make those sorts of comments, but are we really surprised? Uh, we're in this environment in which uh people are going to try to sound their political dog whistles, and that's exactly what Cy Booker is doing. But to his point that uh many of our allies aren't necessarily proponents of President Trump, there's probably something to be said for that. And it's because President Trump is holding them accountable, particularly our NATO allies. President Trump has been holding them accountable not only for their investments in their own security, but also for their investments in partnership with the United States. And let's just be honest, uh they have been failing in that respect. And he's been holding them accountable and and they're feeling some kind of way about it. It's not it's not necessarily the nicest thing to do, but I applaud President Trump for holding those uh allies accountable for them to do what they said they were going to do. Uh David, and unfortunately, they haven't. They they have fallen quite short. They have.

[00:50:01]And I want to welcome Emily to the show who has timeraveled uh from the 1940s uh when she when you said Emily uh that we should all come together because you're right uh back with World War II and and other times in our nation's history, we did come together. Unfortunately, we don't now. Uh, and that is truly sad.

[00:50:20]So, you're right. Um, now that was Corey Booker, right? Because if I just close my eyes and listen to the audio, that sounded like Tucker Carlson. That sounded like Marjorie Taylor Green. That sounded like Megan Kelly. Uh, that sounded like a lot of folks in the quote America First movement. I put quote because if you're going to put this is a strange bedfellow situation and I'm not suggesting Tucker Carlson or MTG as Cy Booker but when it comes to the war uh Tucker and Megan and MTG and others are sounding very much like Cy Booker. I'm not saying they have the same motivation. I'm not saying they have the same public policy outlook but I am saying that the same rhetoric is feeling very similar. Dr. G.

[00:51:04]>> Yeah. It's hard to know what you really see anymore, isn't it? I um I mean I think when we look at the Ukraine situation um we're tired of it. Tucker did an amazing interview. Uh I watched last night with um his former communications director uh meaning Zinsky and uh and so that was fascinating and uh and you know so that was in put it wasn't necessarily anti-Trump anti-war anything. It just confirmed a lot of my worst suspicions about Zalinsky. Um but you know so you look on the internet and you you can really get uh down a rabbit hole now and then and uh and so uh but you know you come back to reality and you realize there are a lot of good things happening. I know my husband is a huge uh fan of this war. I don't know how else to put it. He really thinks that for business and all the things that Trump is trying to accomplish relationships internationally etc etc it's a good thing. So, um, you know, but but David, you make a really good point that we're going to see more of. There are a lot of people who, uh, feel strongly or are confused about this war and other things. And we're going to be hearing more and more about that as, uh, as we progress into 2028 and people start looking at who's going to be the next president, what's going to happen next with this country. So, you do make a great point, Emily. And uh you know, listen, can I join you in the 1940s when we were just all united and everything was pure? I liked it.

[01:04:44]Uh, let's get to some quick headlines here. President Trump set to leave for China today. He's going to be meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xihinping, with trade issues and the war in Iran.

[01:04:55]of course going to be one of the main things that they'll be talking about leading up to this week's highstakes talks. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant have stepped up calls for China to help reopen the Straight of Hormuz. It, by the way, is in the communist country's best interest to do so as China is the world's biggest buyer of Iranian oil.

[01:05:16]And 47's trip across the Pacific comes as the mayor of Arcadia, California, faces federal charges for acting as an illegal agent of China. On Monday, the Justice Department charged the 58-year-old who immediately resigned from her position. In its statement announcing the charges, the DOJ writing, "By her own admission, Eileen Wang secretly served the interests of the Chinese government." And President Trump says he'll move to suspend the federal gas tax in order to help Americans deal with the current high gas prices that we're all having to pay. In order to get it done, though, Congress would have to approve the move. The move would also provide much neededed relief for Americans who rely on their cars to go to work and for daily routines.

[01:06:01]Suspending the federal gas tax would actually take about 18% off the price of a gallon of gas. That, by the way, would specifically help coming into the summer vacation months that we're about to enter. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now, let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Adrien Hernandez has a quick check of your hometown forecast.

[01:06:23]>> Good morning, Terrence. Yeah, we got a few hometown forecasts to check in with.

[01:06:26]We're going to take you out to Branson, Missouri. This is from Veronica Wallen, 1760 from YouTube. We got some really warm temperatures ahead. It's going to be about 84 degrees for your high today, but then you're going to shoot up into the 90s for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Your next big chance for moisture likely going to be filling in on Monday. Now, we're also going to take you out to Ida out in New York. Jenis on Getter sending this one in. We got real good chances for some moisture coming in through Wednesday. And temperatures are going to kind of bounce all over the place. You got a high of 59 on Thursday and then you're going to shoot right back up to the upper 70s and then all the way up to 86° by the time we get to Monday. All of these warm temperatures only going to be fueling that chance for showers and thunderstorms kind of scattered throughout your work week.

[01:07:07]Now, severe weather elsewhere, we are having two outlooks here. One, marginal risk across places like the Midwest up to closer to the Great Lakes. And then another smaller one down into the Sunshine State. This one has got a little bit more cause for concern because we have a small tornado potential, a small tornado outlook for today, extending from Daytona Beach all the way through Orlando and down even to into West Palm Beach all along that I95 corridor. A little bit further north behind that system that's going to be bringing that marginal risk of severe weather to places like the Midwest, we got dry conditions and windy conditions.

[01:07:37]We'll also get fire weather concerns, red flag warnings extended all the way through the Dakotas down into places like Minnesota. Also having some fire dealing with some fire concerns down into Dade County as well. The 172 Avenue fire. We've just been so bone dry down in the sunshine state. And while we don't want to deal with severe weather down into Florida, we'll definitely take the moisture considering just how dry things have been. Temperature- wise, again, going to be staying on the warmer side of things. Almost all across the lower 48. We got a high of 89° out in Witchah and a high of 106° out in Phoenix, which is really hot even by their standards in Terrence. You guys are going to get all the way up to 82° for your high today. The president gave them every chance to make a good deal while they were severely defeated already. And now he's got optionality. I think there are three options for the president.

[01:10:38]He's considering one is just declare the war over walk away. Uh leave leave the straight of roost or economically strangled until Iran uh taps the horn and says we can't take it anymore. Our wells are blowing up and we can do it.

[01:10:51]So stay the course of where they are is option one. Option two is to wait to after the shei summit and launch some more military operations and this time hit them where it hurts uh potent potentially in their u oil industry, their small arms industry uh their small boats which uh the one menace they've had since we flattened everything else in the country. Uh and then the third option is uh to simply increase the economic pressure. Go to shei, go to Russia and say, "Hey, let's make a global deal. the three big boys and Iran will be the odd man out. You can make whatever deal you want with them after we do that. I think the president has all three on his table. I think there'll be a lot of rhetoric but not a lot of action until after the she summit. I think the president wants to take the um the temperature of the Chinese president to see how much he's willing to help. Uh if there isn't that sort of help there, I think more military action or a more severe economic strangle hold are likely options.

[01:11:48]John, uh, I want to turn to the Howard Lucknik testimony at the end of the of last week. Uh, do you think we I I don't understand, first of all, with the most transparent administration, all full credit going to President Trump, I mean, he has been he has put us behind closed doors in meetings that we never thought we'd be in, right? It's it's a wonder we don't go into the skiffs. Um, but uh, this was behind closed doors. I thought that was weird. I know it wasn't President Trump's decision, but I'm just it was behind closed doors and um we we've heard some different reasons for that. I wanted to get your take on that.

[01:12:22]Also, do you think we will hear more about this? I've heard no talk of him leaving or anything even of the sort, but there are some inconsistencies that I at least can't get out of my brain. I don't understand the reason for the mistruths. Um I was just wondering if you could speak to any of that, John.

[01:12:41]Yeah, listen. I think the oversight committee has been pretty consistent, whether it was interviewing witnesses in the Hunter Biden, Joe Biden griff scheme, uh, or people that they interviewed in the fraud schemes recently, the IRS whistleblowers. So, you go back to a more famous moment in the committee's history, uh, or currently with Epstein. Doing these behind closed doors as a starting point is a norm for the committee. So, we shouldn't read too much into it that it's part of a cover up because the committee basically has done all of its depositions behind closed doors. It eventually will collate the information, probably release the transcripts. They have a history of releasing them two to three weeks out from when they do it after they've exploited the information and done whatever um investigation they want to do. A lot of times they do this because they maybe someone will say something behind closed doors and they don't want another witness to hear about it. They want to interview that witness before they get tipped off to what went on. And so it's a normal investigative tactic for this committee. Now, other committees are different, but oversight has been consistent. I expect that at some point they will release the transcript and we'll see if some of the anonymous leaks about what went on in this deposition are true or not. Uh, and then I think you would I would not be surprised to see one more public Epstein hearing by the oversight committee where maybe some of the more interesting witnesses, some of the people who have the most troubling behavior get called before Congress and forced to answer publicly. So, we'll see how that works.

[01:14:06]But keep in mind, the Clintons, lots of people have done depositions, almost all of them in this committee behind closed doors to begin with.

New speculation is growing around Congresswoman Alexandria Okasio Cortez and her political future after comments that are fueling more 2028 presidential buzz. During a public event in Chicago, Okassio Cortez was asked about possibly running for president, but said her quote ambition is way bigger than holding a title or office.

[01:17:33]The New York Democrat said her goal is to quote change this country through policies like singlepayer health care, higher wages, and expanded workers rights. Take a look at what she had to say.

[01:17:44]>> They assume that my ambition is a title or a seat.

[01:17:50]And my ambition is way bigger than that. Um my ambition is to change this country.

[01:17:59]And presidents come and go, Senate, House seats, elected officials come and go.

[01:18:17]But single pair healthcare is forever.

[01:18:23]>> Okay, let's discuss more with David Terrence and Dr. Gina. Terrence, want to get your thoughts first on this. The one thing I was thinking is how does this woman find so many mindless people to just clap for her? Like where where did all these people come from? Are they getting paid?

[01:18:40]>> They were in the room and they gave her a pity clap and were like, "Okay, well since we're here, I guess we have to clap." Uh the reality is if she wants to, as she says, uh change this country, she's got to be sitting at the table.

[01:18:51]And there's no better place to sit in than at the head of the table if you really want to make some change, which would be being the president. She's going to run for office. She's going to definitely run for president. I don't know if she's going to be successful, but she's going to definitely give it a go. Um and that's her best shot at uh trying to accomplish that supposed goal.

[01:19:08]David, >> well, I think that would be a horrible move if she decided to run for president. I don't think she's She's definitely not ready. Oh, 100%. I think she's going to run for Schumer's seat.

I'll tell you what, if you don't believe that evil is alive and well in this world, and there are religious denominations that honestly don't believe there's evil in the world, all you have to do is watch this. They're in a church, first of all, where she's making that speech and then singer pair healthc care for I mean, oh girl, she I mean, she reeks of everything slimy and smarmy and evil um and dumb. David, I think you make such a key point there.

[01:20:33]How dumb do you have to be be to believe that singlepayer healthcare is a good idea? Just let's start there. How how dumb do you have to believe be to believe that the people you say you advocate for actually benefit from the programs you advocate for? Case and point. California, New York, every single city run by Democrats. What happens there? The people get poorer.

[01:20:58]The the families break apart. the socioeconomic level plummets. Their faith in whatever faith uh becomes nothing. Um it's the saddest thing in the world what Democrat policies have done to this country county by county.

[01:21:15]And um look, the blood is on her hands and she's going to see the inside of a church again someday and it's not going to look like this to her.

Most of us worked our entire lives to elect President Trump or someone like him, and here he is now, and we can't codify anything. I think what she meant was I'm gonna stay in the political arena and have impact every way I can and it's going to be beyond president which is a really scary thought if you stop and think about it.

[01:22:28]>> Okay, but I just want to say that if you're president of the United States, you have the ultimate bully pulpit and if you want to talk about singlepayer healthcare, then you become president and you make it your signature issue just like Obama did on many things and you and that's what you do to to affect change.

[01:27:18]So, the lawsuit challenges a new map that would break up Tennessee's only majority black congressional district in Memphis. It's a move critics call racial gerrymandering. State lawmakers are also pushing back here with Tennessee State Representative Antonio Parkinson calling for the city of Memphis to secede based on this ruling. Take a look. And if that is the case, let me make it easier for you. Let Memphis sec from the state of Tennessee.

It's redistricting with black Republicans winning because suddenly all those Democrats uh black constituents that have voted Democrat for years say, "Wait, there's an alternative. Hey, I like her." And all of a sudden this this hold this this this lock they've had on this voting block goes away. That's what I think is their biggest problem. Um you know, look, >> yeah, >> black Republicans are going to be if the black congressional caucus is mostly Republicans, Democrats, their heads will explode. I mean, let's just be honest about it.

[01:29:29]President Trump says he wants to suspend federal gas taxes. Uh what do you think?

[01:29:37]>> Something like that. I I don't know what's going to happen. I My bigger question is uh the United States right now is setting all-time records, David.

[01:29:44]5.3 million barrels a day of oil that we're exporting plus finished product gasoline and diesel. Maybe the president could say, you know, wait a second.

[01:29:50]Let's put America first. Let's not export 5 1.5 million barrels a day.

[01:29:54]Alltime record is 3.9 billion million barrels here just a few weeks ago. Now you're at 5 1.5 million. Maybe we should keep that product here and keep our prices lower. That that's my thought. I mean, he can pick up the red phone and call his friends at the oil companies who are setting record profits by the way. Shell, $7 billion profit for the first quarter. Uh, who's making money here? Uh, not me and not you. We're in the wrong business, David. I can tell you tell you that.

As you can see, top to bottom, not looking so great right now, especially when it comes to the indices. The Dow, S&P 500, and the NASDAQ are all in the red to start this day of trading. Just a couple of bright spots, a couple of green areas, crude oil being among them. Uh it is up, which means that you're going to pay a little bit more for gas very likely. But as you just heard David talking about, uh, President Trump is considering stopping or at least cutting the federal gas tax, which will be about 18 cents a gallon for regular gas and about 24 cents a gallon for diesel. It is time now to take the political pulse of America. Here's the beat. Today, the new poll, a new poll is revealing growing generational divide in how Americans view the job market. Younger adults are becoming more pessimistic about their future. According to a new Gallup survey, just 43% of Americans aged 15 to 34 say it's a good time to find a job compared to 64% of adults 55 and older. That 21 point gap is now the largest generational divide of any country surveyed. Researchers say younger Americans increas increasingly worried about high housing cost, student debt, AI replacing entry-level jobs, competitive hiring market that uh many feel is just plain stacked against them.

[01:38:05]Older Americans who already own homes are u or or are near retirement remain far more optimistic about the economy.

[01:38:14]Joining us now with reaction, Florida Congressman Jimmy Petronis. And uh Congressman, um you serve on the small business committee, so you probably hear a lot of stuff like this. I know just talking to my own children, they say their friends are discouraged. You know, we take a different route in my family.

[01:38:33]I kind of subscribe to the Charlie uh Kirk School of Thought where you raise your children, you establish a business for them. Instead of sending them off to college and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, you get them established in business. So for my kids, that has worked really, really well. Um but that doesn't mean that um they feel like they can go out and buy their own houses, buy their own cars. to that generation to Gen Z. My children tell me that their friends say they don't think the American dream is attainable. I don't remember anyone in my generation talking that way and we struggled, but I don't remember that.

[01:39:10]No. Look, I grew up in the restaurant business at 10 years old. Now, again, like what you said, a family business provides unique opportunities, but I would plead with parents that when I was in the restaurant business, give me your kid when he turns 15, let me let him bus tables. plumbing milk. It is so empowering when they get that first paycheck in their hand and they get to do what they want to do with it. And it gives them a a a focus that if I show up, if I work, then I can do the things and I'm empowered to make my own decisions with my own money that I earned. and and unfortunately I I don't think that uh encouragement to enter into the workforce at 15 and 16 is quite as urgent as it was when I was growing up.

[01:39:55]>> Yeah, there's no doubt about that.

[01:39:56]>> And and then they'll treat people well the rest of their lives if they do go and make money. I think it's such a critical point that you make, Congressman, that children need to work in a service industry when they're young because if they become successful, you want them uh to always see everybody as equals and to always treat people with that kind respect because I can't stand when I go someplace and I see people mistreating people.

[01:40:20]>> That was >> Oh, that's right. But, you know, >> well, and to your other point, to me, home ownership is the best force for good. When somebody can own a home, amazing things happen. They start to do things like show up to work. They start to care about the community. They start thinking about what schools are close to the home that I bought and is that where I really want to send my kids. And the parent empowerment then starts to become more of a force for good in creating a stronger community. Strong families make strong communities, but really it starts when you've got a home where you're getting to set your roots in place. And so there's things that we're doing in Washington right now to try to help home ownership. But look, it it is what it is. Right now, cost per square foot of construction is higher. Uh but I'm I'm a little bit biased. Everybody wants to be in Florida. So that definitely creates some uh excitement in the housing market.

[01:41:14]>> No doubt. And we're talking about the housing market, which makes me think, of course, of the economy, and that makes me think of the midterms. And here we are.

[01:41:22]>> Uh so let's talk about those midterms specifically. You've got House Minority Leader Hakee Jeff. He's confident. He's confident Democrats are going to come out, the victors in the House, even with all these redistricting losses on their side. Here he is outlining his agenda or the Democrat party's agenda and agenda, excuse me, on on this program called MS Now. Just kidding. This network called MS Now. Take a look. We've got to, for instance, make sure we pass the John Robert Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act so we can end the era of voter suppression in the United States of America once and for all. We have to end Citizens United, dramatically reform our campaign finance laws to stop the ability of these deep pocketed special interests to intervene. And we are going to have to explore massive judicial reform state by state and at the federal level. and everything should be on the table as far as I'm concerned.

[01:42:18]>> I don't know if that's chalk on a blackboard or Charlie Brown's teacher.

[01:42:22]Uh but it's just Oh gosh, please make it stop. What do you What do you think, Congressman? Are Democrats going to pull this off? Are they going to win? What do you think?

[01:42:32]>> Look, so so look, Hakeim comes from New York State where nobody is moving to right now. The failed policy that the state have have mass exodus of quality people and you know what? and the money that they have and their investment they have and they're coming to states afforded what treat them with respect with safety and with dignity and that doesn't exist there. So his policies he's advocating for. I don't know who he's selling it to but you can see what's happening in his own backyard is a colossal failure of leadership. And then you look at what's happened in Virginia. The solution that the Democrats have right now to try to change their their language that was struck down by the Supreme Court is let's change the retirement age for Virginia Supreme Court justices to 54.

[01:43:19]So every Supreme Court justice that voted on this provision would have to be thrown out. This is the type of craziness that exists in Washington right now. We have a razor thin majority. Thank goodness the good outweighs the bad.

[01:43:33]Congressman, you've been selling Florida hard. You've definitely been biging up your state, and I understand it. So, I want to bring your attention uh to your governor there, Ronda Santis, who took aim at the communist regime in Cuba over the weekend. Uh during his remarks, he basically or those remarks, excuse me, coming during a bill signing event in Florida, which placed new restrictions on Cuban link businesses that are operating there in the Sunshine State in violation of US sanctions against the country. Uh here's exactly what he had to say. his comments and then we'll talk on the other side.

[01:44:04]>> Cuba had been taken over uh by a dictator, a communist dictator, and they knew that that meant uh the country was going to go in the toilet as a result of that. And so they were fighting to try to liberate the island from the dictatorship and they were on the right side of history to do that. And so here we are now decades later and we can say that not only were they on the right side. Uh it's been even worse than anyone could have imagined. If you look at the state of Cuba today and in 2026 uh it is time for the Cuban communist dictatorship to be put out to pasture once and for all.

[01:44:49]Congressman, I'm curious what actions you'd support being taken against the communist regime there in Cuba.

[01:44:56]>> So, look, I I I agree with the governor this it's time for there to be a regime change, but also just a political change, a democratic free election. That would be a novel idea to start off with.

[01:45:07]But what you've got, you essentially got a mafia mafia boss running. Ral Castro is still in power, still calling the shots. all those that are wrapped around Ral Castro or this doing his bidding.

[01:45:19]Um, and look and until probably he dies, there's probably not going to be a change in what takes place. But as the United States has been able to assert itself more in the northern and western hemisphere, we're starting to affect how Cuba is doing business. Russia stretched thin. All of Cuba's typical allies are are are not wanting to engage against the will of the United States because they also know what's taking place in Cuba is morally wrong. Their families living in Florida who have property still identified in Cuba that companies like Airbnb are monetizing. These are stolen assets that the Cuban government is now profiting from with us uh other US corporations. So yeah, there there's a lot of things to be cleaned up and watch Marco Rubio. This is near and dear and personal to him. I think Marco will be more and more a leader on this particular issue as we start to transition Cuba from the dictatorship to a a representative Republican form of government.

[01:46:25]>> Congressman, President Trump reportedly considering making Venezuela part of the United States. In a phone call with Fox News, he said he's eyeing Venezuela as a potential 51st states. That's a quote state. That's a quote. Uh motivated by the estimated 40 trillion dollars worth of oil in the country. I think that might play a role. Adding that the uh country's citizens love Trump.

[01:46:48]Apparently, he knows this. Uh Congressman, where do you stand on this?

[01:46:54]Look, >> I think the president is always out there looking out for the UX uh US citizen, our investments are or what our taxpayers are spending money on. So, the fact that he floats these ideas, he floats a lot of ideas and I love that he does and some of them stick and they can be become the new law of the land. Some of them get debated and morph into something that's bigger and better than he ever would have imagined. So, anyway, I love where the president's going. Keep on, Mr. President.

[01:58:43]>> Well, check out uh this survey. This is what I'm looking at. It's it's pretty alarming. It shows as many as one in four Americans believe that that most recent assassination attempt on President Trump was actually staged. Uh this it's a News Guard survey. It shows that roughly one in three Democrat voters reject the official reports about that shooting. One in eight Republican voters agree with them. Anyhow, it goes on. So, I'm curious to get your take on this because to me, first of all, Democrats, liberals need to now stop saying that Republicans, conservatives, whatever you want to call them, MAGA, are the only ones dabbling in conspiracy theories when more Democrats >> believe that this was all a hoax and staged. Great point. Uh, rather than conservatives, number one. Number two, I mean, look, I think we need to be very I'm all good. I'm all in for a good conspiracy theory. And let's be honest, many of those conspiracy theories have come true. But I think we also need to be careful. Uh it's kind of like a prophet, right? I mean, you know, when a prophet is wrong, once you're no longer a prophet. You got to be very, very careful when you're just embracing any sort of conspiracy theory like this, for example. This was not staged. It's ridiculous. and
