Political leadership effectiveness is demonstrated through the ability to pass legislation despite slim majorities, as exemplified by Speaker Mike Johnson passing over 700 pieces of legislation in 16 months, while historical patterns suggest the party in power typically loses midterms due to voter dissatisfaction with the current administration.

Mike Johnson Stuns Dems With Huge Announcement — Schumer Is PowerlessAdded:
Mike Johnson is convinced that Republicans are going to win the midterms, and I don't think anything's going to change his mind. I hope that he is right. What's up, guys? My name is Jesse Hughes, and you are watching Resist the Mainstream. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was on Fox News recently, and he said he is convinced that Republicans are going to defy history, and they are going to win the midterms. And the two reasons he said so is because one, he believes that Republicans have fulfilled their promises for the most part, and that they have given something for the American people to look at, a record to vote on. And secondly, because Democrats are in disarray, they have no message, they have no unity, and they are running open Marxists who openly flaunt American values. I hope Mike Johnson is right, and we're going to discuss this in just a moment, and we're going to watch the clip of Mike Johnson speaking together in just a moment, so you can get the full context of what he said. But before we get to that, before we get to anything else, make sure you hit that subscribe button, so that you never miss any of our content.
Now, Mike Johnson is making some bold claims.
Historically, the party that is in power almost always loses the midterms. There have been few exceptions to that over the last 50 or 60 years.
However, he does have a few good points. Now, a lot of people say that Mike Johnson is a weak speaker, that he's not doing enough, and there are certainly some substantial criticisms you can have of Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House.
However, you have to give him some credit.
This is a man who has a slim majority, only a few seats, and he is still somehow able to keep his party together, and to get the big beautiful bill passed. He got the Save America Act passed in the House. He got money for mass deportations, money for ICE, money for all sorts of Trump administration priorities. He got several things passed that a different speaker, a weaker speaker, would not have been able to pull off with this slim of a majority.
A weaker leadership would not have been able to wrangle in some of the moderates or some of the troublemakers in order to get things passed. You have to give Mike Johnson some credit.
With things like redistricting going on, with things like the Democrats and some of the candidates they're putting up, there is a good chance Republicans could very well win the midterms. It's not outside of the realm of possibility.
But we shouldn't bank on redistricting or crazy candidates in order to make that a reality.
You guys have to get out. You guys have to vote. You guys have to knock doors.
I'm planning on knocking doors all summer for some local candidates in the area that I'm in.
You guys have to get out and do these things. We have to put in the hard work, or else we're going to lose.
Now, I want to hear what you guys think about all of this. Drop a comment down below. Tell me what you think, and let's watch this next clip together.
>> about the midterms. We're bullish that we are going to defy history and grow this house majority, and we're going to do it on the basis of common sense, Kayleigh. Newt Gingrich, our good friend, has a way of crystallizing things. He said, "Mike, this is not a contract with America year. Y'all did that in 2024, and you have fulfilled those promises for the people. This is a contrast for America election. It's a contrast between common sense, what Republicans represent, and crazy." That was a pretty good montage you had there in the beginning. That That's what we're seeing around the country. The Democrats are in disarray. They have the radical insurgent left, the open Marxists running for offices, including Congress, around the country. And this is not where the American people are. So, we feel very good about our chances going in. I've got a very boring 90-minute slideshow I could share with you, Kayleigh, to show you all the reasons we're going to win, but it it boils down to a proven record, better candidates, a fundraising advantage we have right now, and the fact that people understand the contrast between these two sides. You know, we we took over in this Congress 16 months ago. In the house, we passed over 700 pieces of legislation. So much of it geared for the the the concerns of the American people, bringing down cost, and and fixing the complete disarray that was created by the Biden administration over 4 years in every area of public policy.
We'll continue to do that. We're delivering for the people and I think they're going to reward that in the fall.
