Sunny, dry, and hot conditions stick around

[00:00:01]>> Good morning. These mornings have been so delectable. Yes, it's been really nice, like low humidity, very comfortable. Uh yesterday it was also beautiful as well.

[00:00:12]>> Absolutely, yes, courtesy to high pressure in place that's centered over Texas right now. Our storm Our storm system is way off to the east moving across the northern Gulf into parts of Florida, Georgia, and then eventually off the coast of the United States. But here locally with that high pressure in place, all of the state is nice and dry and sunny this morning. We have surface high pressure that's going to gradually work out into the Gulf tomorrow into Thursday, but it's still going to keep us sunny and hot. Also because we have an upper level ridge of high pressure in place. So those two combined will not allow any storm systems to move into our direction. So rain chances over the next four days are zero. And our temperatures continue to go up, and it's not just in the mornings, but it's also in the afternoon. So upper 80s today, 90s for Wednesday and Thursday, upper 80s on Friday, and look at our morning temperatures. We're back into the 70s Thursday and Friday, so a much warmer start over the next couple of days. But for now, especially for our inland spots, we're feeling very comfortable.

[00:01:13]We're at 64° in Beeville and in Freer, it's 65° in Alice, Robstown at 66°, Kingsville at 68°, and then we're in the mid-70s along our coastline. But for now, we still have a northerly component of the wind pulling in that cooler air.

[00:01:27]Later on the day, we'll get a change in the wind direction, which will gradually help to warm us up. Everyone though, nice and quiet, mostly clear to start off our day. Then as we look towards the afternoon, we'll have mostly sunny conditions. Again, our wind begins to change direction from the north northeast, and then eventually to more of a southerly component of the wind warming us up very quickly. So upper 80s and low 90s as high temperatures this afternoon. Looking ahead to tonight, our winds begin to calm down out of the southeast at about 5 mph. Temperatures drop down into the 60s and 70s, and because of the calm winds and clear conditions, we may actually have some patchy fog develop overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning. That will all lift by tomorrow afternoon leading to mostly sunny conditions. Temperatures then rebounding back into the low and mid-90s and our winds all day tomorrow will be out of the southeast at about 10 to 15 miles per hour. So gradually day by day, and not only are temperatures warming up, but also our dew point temperatures and our mugginess in the air. We're going to be at the humid category pretty much all week long, but we're at the lower end of the humid category today and really nearing that humid, almost steamy category by Friday and into the weekend.

[00:02:36]Speaking of the weekend, the Beach to Bay Relay Race, we're looking at clouds to start. Temperatures early in the morning in the 70s and then looking ahead to the afternoon, partly cloudy conditions, temperatures quickly warming up into the mid-80s. And the key is going to be that southeasterly wind starting around the race around 15 miles per hour, but picking up throughout the relay to about 20 to 25 miles per hour.

[00:02:58]So more of a southeasterly wind with gusts around 30 to 35 miles per hour.

[00:03:03]With that high pressure in place at the surface and in the upper levels of our atmosphere, we're dry now all the way through the weekend, but it's going to stay hot with high temperatures into the upper 80s and low 90s. Our next opportunity for rainfall will arrive on Monday. It's a small chance, but it's not zero. It's a 10% chance of rainfall, windy conditions and cloudy high still in the upper 80s and low 90s.
