[00:00:00]I know this isn't my normal day, but I have a special guest and we're going to talk a little bit about volatility.

[00:00:06]We'll talk real quickly about the current events, what's going on, but I heard something this person said the other day and it really got me thinking.

[00:00:15]Volatility is a really big deal. It's something we're seeing a lot of and we really can take the lessons of people who've been in this hobby, who've done this for quite some time. Want to talk a little bit about volatility. We'll talk real Let's turn that off. Sorry about that. And it got me to thinking about how do people in our community deal with this? How have they handled this? What have they learned over the last six months? And so I want to do a big how do you do to Uncle S. What's going on, brother?

[00:00:48]>> Hello, sir.

[00:00:50]Good to see you.

[00:00:51]>> I appreciate you coming in. I'm really glad that you're here.

[00:00:55]>> Well, thank you. It's an honor to be here.

[00:00:58]So volatility's been nuts. I mean, I've seen 10 12% in a single day. We've seen negative 8% recently.

[00:01:13]What do you do in this situation? Like, and I know a lot of we have a lot of stackers. We have a lot of collectors.

[00:01:18]What do you do in a situation like what are your thoughts?

[00:01:22]Well, this is going to sound a little strange coming from somebody who talks about the noise uh every day and that's kind of how you can refer to it is many stackers will come on my videos and say I'm just going to ignore the noise and keep stacking even though and that is good advice and I would encourage people to do that and I mentioned that in my videos even though I report on the noise you know big moves from one day to the next it can be nerve-wracking if you are trying to time your buys based off these radical moves. You can use it to your advantage, but uh oftent times it seems like especially if it's really volatile, depending where you buy, those premiums will be higher when they're lower and and and stay up when the prices go high.

[00:02:07]So, uh it's it's a it's a tough thing to do, but I would say just to assess your situation. When you dollar cost average, it'll all work out in the end. Um and I would say just remain calm. Do not give into fear. You know the fear of missing out is what a lot of people talk about.

[00:02:26]But the worst kind of fear is that is associated with the acronym FUD which is fear, uncertainty and doubt. You know FOMO can work in your advantage.

[00:02:36]Although it is emotion driven, but when you have fear, uncertainty, and doubt, those people tend to sell at the at when it's going down or at the low, and they buy when it's going up because they're doubtful about what really silver and gold are all about. And but anyways, that's a another conversation. We can go in on that, but that's essentially I would say take a step back, breathe, assess your personal situation, and look at what Gold and Silver have done uh over the last 3 to four months and gauge whether or not it's right for you to buy at a given point in time.

[00:03:14]>> Yeah. And again, uh what's up, Reckless?

[00:03:17]It's not timing the market, it's time in the market. That's a good statement.

[00:03:21]>> Yes.

[00:03:22]>> But going back to that FUD, that's the first time I've heard that and it makes sense.

[00:03:27]um you think about well you're not sure if you should do it you're not sure if you should do it and you bypass the time in which you should be taking action um one of the pieces of advice I tell everybody is to act not react when you act you've done your research you've investigated things you know what's happening when you react decisions based off of limited information and so that's where that emotion comes into into play I I like that a lot so I want go ahead Oh, no. I was just was agree with you. I think yeah, it's it's definitely time in the market. It's so important and if you're a new stacker and the prices are high, especially if you bought when silver was over $100 an ounce, what's going on right now, it's going to be very, very frustrating to you. But, uh, it's just a matter of hanging in there.

[00:04:16]>> So, what have your bit what have some of your frustrations been? I mean, obviously, we've all had to learn some lessons the hard way. Um, what are some of the major frustrations you've had?

[00:04:28]>> Whenever I go to buy something, I call it salivates law. Um, and it was something that happened for quite a long time. I've stole it from Mr. Murphy or Mrs. Murphy. And that is whenever I make a purchase, immediately within hours, the price drops dramatically.

[00:04:46]And uh, and it's like bam. I couldn't have picked the worst time to buy because it just fell a little bit a little bit more. And that's probably the been the most frustrating thing that I've experienced in precious metals market.

[00:04:59]>> I was talking to Mad Stacker. You know who he is, right?

[00:05:02]>> Yes.

[00:05:03]>> Okay. I was talking to Mad and he goes, uh, he's like, you know, you have to be patient. He said, one thing that I've learned over over the years is if I hurry up and act on something and I don't look around, inevitably I will do exactly what you just said. Because it happens, you know, you you you buy that piece and you're like, "Oh, I got a good deal and you pick up your phone and there it is for $8 less."

[00:05:29]>> That's right.

[00:05:30]>> So, yeah, it it's And what do you call it? Salivates Law.

[00:05:34]>> I call it Salivates Law. I stole it from Mr. Murphy because it happened to me was happening to me so regularly I decided to take ownership of it. I've been fairly lucky over the past um year or so, but still.

[00:05:50]>> So, how did you how did you recognize it? I mean, obviously you see it after the fact, but how do you how do you recognize before it happens? What things did you have to put into place?

[00:06:03]um recognizing the uh the salivates law or the or or what recognizing >> recognizing not necessarily the law but that it was happening.

[00:06:14]>> Um well uh because I would look at the markets hoping that it would go the other way only to be disappointed. So as soon as the numbers started to cross the screen I'm like oh man. Um, I'd come back an hour or two later and u gold may have dropped $30, $40 or silver may have dropped, you know, a dollar and a half and I'm like, man, um, that's when you notice it as soon as the numbers move.

[00:06:42]And they can move that quick, by the way.

[00:06:45]>> Oh, yeah.

[00:06:45]>> We've seen it many times on the Sunday night market watch. will watch the Asian markets open up and they'll gap up or gap down in the open and keep going one way or the other. It's crazy.

[00:06:59]>> Well, the the volatility has been insane. But my my thing is that number one, what is your what is your goal? Why are you here? If you're here for the long haul, there's the famous slurp.

[00:07:09]There you go. Um if you're here for the No, no, it's all good. It wouldn't be salivate if it wasn't for the slurp. Um there's so many things that uh you have to take into consideration when you're buying, but really kind of look and assess. One thing that you and I have talked about a number of times um is you're going to make mistakes and just try not to repeat it, right? Try not to do the same thing over and over again.

[00:07:40]Um, I think it's uh who was it that called that the definition of an idiot? Was it Newton?

[00:07:49]>> Definition of insanity is repeating the same mistake, repeating the same and expecting different results.

[00:07:55]>> Yeah, exactly.

[00:07:56]>> That's paraphrasing that, but you know, speaking of volatility, you know, I've got to confess something for you here on Frostbite Coins channel. I actually created the volatility.

[00:08:07]I'm responsible for it and I wanted to do it so that I can have specially custommade a volatility meter to show on the channel. And if any of you um I need to show it again because uh it is such a regular thing. I need to whip that thing out more often than not. But uh if you've seen my videos in the last uh three months, you would have seen it uh for sure. But I need to whip it out and see where we're at on the volatility meter uh that I have custom made for such as a time as this. That's how crazy it's been. Of course, I'm kidding about actually causing the volatility, but anyways.

[00:08:44][laughter] How's the spam calls going?

[00:08:47]>> Good. Have you seen the volatility meter on the on the channel, Frostbite?

[00:08:51]>> I have not. I had uh I was away for a month and then I was sick and then I've been playing catch up for the last month.

[00:08:58]>> Yeah. Well, I'm sorry to hear. I hope you're feeling better. And uh well, I need to endeavor to whip it out more often, but I created a special volatility meter for exactly what we've been seeing. And uh so yeah, it's it's pretty crazy.

[00:09:13]>> That's really cool. Yeah. And I apologize. I have not been able to be on uh Well, I told you today I've been so absent- minded. I didn't know where I was supposed to be.

[00:09:22]>> Yeah. No worries. Yeah.

[00:09:24]>> Hey, help me help me clear myself up.

[00:09:26]>> It can get pretty crazy.

[00:09:28]>> Oh, yeah. And you have you have so many things that you're doing and and I it's amazing how you can keep everything straight.

[00:09:35]So you've been stacking for how many years?

[00:09:40]>> You know, >> quite a few.

[00:09:41]>> I Yeah, over 30. At least over 30.

[00:09:45]Probably 40.

[00:09:47]>> So what do you do you ever sell?

[00:09:51]>> Um very rarely. And it's usually either to trade up or trade for other precious metals. And that's very rare, but I just very rarely do it. Um, I try my best to protect my stack by having a savings vehicle in the case of emergencies.

[00:10:10]It's easier said than done for some people and it just takes time to build that, but I always encourage folks to have a stack of fiat so that you can protect your stack of precious have a stack of unound money so you can protect your stack of sound money. use that unound money to your advantage uh for those times because we cannot escape unound money. Uh that's why you'll never hear me say cash is trash. If it's trash, well, you can send it my way.

[00:10:40]>> Well, no. I mean, you have to have it.

[00:10:42]It's what's being used, right? It's it's the money of our It's the money of our land.

[00:10:47]>> You're not going to get away from it.

[00:10:49]>> Um >> Exactly.

[00:10:50]>> I understand the difference between money and currency, though, >> right? And so when people talk about uh money and currency, silver and gold is real money. Uh but don't Yeah. Don't don't hate fiat. It is what is being used.

[00:11:06]>> That's right. Yes.

[00:11:07]>> Yeah. I get you.

[00:11:09]Eric said, "Hit the like button." I appreciate that, Eric. Good to see you.

[00:11:15]So Sal got a question. when you look at uh precious metals, if you look at what's going on, I know today um in your video you said the only thing that gained I think was palladium.

[00:11:27]>> Um >> right.

[00:11:29]>> What do you [clears throat] what do you like right now? What's the what's the metal of of your choice?

[00:11:35]Well, since 2017, I made a marked decision to focus more on gold and I feel much uh better about that now. As you get older, you mature as a stacker and uh I felt like I had I was over uh exposed to silver and underexposed to gold. So, I made that decision. I've not turned back. I've not abandoned silver, but I've just uh tried to get my own personal GSR down. And I really couldn't give you a number what that is now. But but uh with every ounce of gold, it it moves a lot less. There's a lot less volatility with gold than there is silver, even in volatile times. Right now, the Asian markets are open and uh gold is uh recovering a little bit. It's up 0.05% and silver is outperforming it by double by almost triple right now. Uh so when gold goes up, silver goes up even more. When gold goes down, silver goes down even more. And uh and we're seeing an example of that play out right now in the in the pre-Asian market trading.

[00:12:43]So you watch the charts. I mean, obviously you do your market watch on Sundays and you're constantly talking about stories, constantly looking at where it's at.

[00:12:55]What's what's some of the common things that you hear from people about silver about the the following the metal? Um what would you like to dispel? What myth is running around right now?

[00:13:10][clears throat] >> Well, that uh I think that that that the dollar is just going to collapse. That's one of the most common things that it's doomed to I mean it does it is losing its influence. We know that for sure in 19 or 2002 it uh made up about 72% of uh forex foreign exchange reserves among the central banks and trans and international transactions here it's about now it's about 57 to 58%.

[00:13:42]So, it's lost and that's ddollarization and that's continuing to happen. And uh but nonetheless, it's not going away anytime soon. And uh and and I think that the more people realize that and have a more realistic view of the dollar, they don't won't be so stressed about trying to just gather up as much gold and silver as possible. I mean, and and also some of these predictions, you know, I make predictions, I speculate, but I don't take my predictions too seriously. Uh I have people come on the channel and say, "Mark my words, watch this post. Silver's going to this number by this date." I'm like, you know, okay, they're so sure that it's going to happen, but nobody knows what's going to happen. All we can give is an educated guess. Um otherwise, you're just guessing. And no one really truly knows what's going to happen. And if they're people have these big expectations that silver's going to make them money or gold's going to make them money, but in reality, it's there to protect the wealth you already have rather than create it for you. It's not a wealth cre creator. That's the one myth that people have. It's not there to get you rich.

[00:14:53]It's to preserve the riches you have.

[00:14:57]>> Right. Well, there's the common saying in the coin hobby, if you want to make $2 million in the uh coin hobby, start with five.

[00:15:05]>> Yep. That's right.

[00:15:08]>> Inevitably, things are going to go down.

[00:15:10]And so, >> yeah, >> you know, but you talk about dollar cost per average.

[00:15:15]So, for the folks that are on here, I'm sure most of you know what dollar cost per average is. Um, what should somebody who's kind of getting into this? I like how salivate.

[00:15:49]Sometimes I'm I'm a little overly opinionated and I lose subscribers because of some of my opinions, but that's okay from time to time.

[00:15:58]>> Well, let me deviate and ask you a quick question real quick, saying about losing subscribers. YouTube has been on this thing where they are going through systematically and getting rid of bot channels and sites and stuff like that.

[00:16:10]How has that affected your list? Have you seen a hemorrhaging of sub subscribers?

[00:16:17]>> It's weird. I I'll post I mean I can post content and it's not really controversial. Actually the [clears throat] content nowadays is very controversial because I'm talking about the Iran war and uh but I talk about it because it how it relates to precious metals. It has a direct correlation with what gold and silver are doing now. But even if I don't talk about certain uh certain controversial topics uh I'll lose a handful of subscribers and don't know why. I don't know if that very well could be bots subscribing or what have you. Um, and I look at my metrics and I see, okay, I lost two subscribers on this video and it wasn't controversial at all. And then there'll be another video that's a little bit controversial.

[00:16:59]And when I say controversial, just because I even mentioned the name Donald Trump, people just go insane. They go insane.

[00:17:06]>> Um, and uh and uh or Israel, you know, you say the name Israel in this community, you are going you know, be prepared. Watch out. Watch out if you mention Israel. Um, and uh so anyways, the uh uh or I'll gain uh three subscribers. You know, it just depends on the number of views. But some people told me they say, you know, I've been kicked off your subscriber for I don't know why and they'll have to resubscribe to the channel. I don't know if you've seen that or not on yours. Well, we've actually talked about that with a number of people because I've had people that have been subscribed. They're members of my channel >> and they're like, "I'm not getting notifications. [clears throat] >> Excuse me." And then they go to look and they go, >> "I'm not even subscribed to your channel." [laughter] >> Right?

[00:17:53]>> And I'm like, "You've been a member for 25 months.

[00:17:57]>> How can you not be subscribed?" And so >> so what I tell people what I tell people to do >> and and the way that the uh the feeds are right now, they're all whacked out.

[00:18:09]>> Yeah. And I and there's no way to change it. I wish YouTube of course there's you can't get any help from YouTube. It's just I've tried and it's >> it's you know uh but what I tell people if there's a channel you really like, bookmark their channel page and come back to it every day. Especially for my daily watchers, you know, I tell them, you know, hey, uh, I post two videos a day, sometimes three. Uh, you if you don't see a video from me in a day, you know something's wrong. Just go to the channel page and bookmark it and you come back there if if you don't want to miss a video. Um, >> well, and if you watch somebody a lot, and I'm definitely not telling anybody they got to do this for me, but if you watch something a lot, you can actually have a tab automatically open when you open your browser and then that'll open up to the channel that you want to do.

[00:22:37]And I wish they would have asked this one question of the mint director, but they didn't. But that's all right. But maybe if they'll get another chance to get them. I would love to interview the mint director. Actually, the former mint director, I reached out to their and asked if they would be interested in being interviewed. I got a hard no on it. It's like, no, we're not interested.

[00:22:57]Uh, and I was like, oh man, dang. It's like it's big time turndown. But anyways, >> yeah, I'm really hoping for good things out of Paul Hollis. Um, the interview went really well. Um, they always have good interviews. They go to these shows and they have amazing folks lined up.

[00:23:16]>> Well, if they ever get a chance to interview him again, I hope they will ask him about the insane premiums on clad products. I can understand to some degree why the why the uh gold and silver are are up, but as a percentage they're far above inflation. And considering that they're they're uh that all of the ex all the profits that come from the mint, they go right into the uh to the uh into the general revenue into the treasury. And even with the premiums as high as they are, it's still a molecule in the drop in a drop of a bucket in order to bring down the US debt. You know, we can say we're doing our part. We're only doing our part marginally a little bit more considering how much the government spends. But I would love to find out why. And of course, this did not happen under Paul Hollis. This happened before Hollis came on board. But he can do something about it. And I think that the prices should be more reasonable.

[00:24:15]Yeah, I think he wanted to ask that question and he was told that he had to divert.

[00:24:21]>> Oh, really? Oh, really?

[00:24:22]>> Yeah. So, if I remember Mike and correct me, but him and I talked afterwards.

[00:24:27]>> Uh, I think we talked the next day. Paul Hollis had a handler >> and the handler was like cut in the throat. No, don't talk about that. No, don't. [laughter] >> Oh, man.

[00:24:43]One thing that we were asking about and one thing I still want to know is the auction um the high ticket items like the items that went into space and stuff like that, you know, how does Paul How does he feel about that?

[00:24:58]>> Yeah. The last sense. Yeah.

[00:25:00]>> Yeah. And well, the the giant thumb print there by uh >> the uh Yeah. Secretary. Yeah. Um >> Treasury Treasury.

[00:25:09]>> Oh, the treasure Yeah. Treasury sec treasurer Scott Bennett. There we go.

[00:25:13]Um, but yeah, >> actually it was Scott Bennett, the secretary of the treasur. He wasn't at that uh he wasn't at that striking. It was the treasurer and he's a different guy. Uh, I forget his name. Um, let me see.

[00:25:26]>> Oh, I can't remember his name.

[00:25:32]>> Uh, let's see here. Um, Brandon Beachch.

[00:25:36]I knew it was something beach.

[00:25:38]>> Brandon Beach. He was the one. So, it's his thumb print on on that coin. So, whoever's got that coin, you know, uh, is it's got, you know, they could probably digitize that that thumbrint and probably get in on his get it in his phone or something. [laughter] >> Well, what I was surprised about, and I I give credit to the bench, I was when you saw him handling that coin, I'm like, "Oh my gosh, gloves, folks. What the heck?"

[00:26:04]>> Right? [clears throat] But when you saw the picture of the actual coin and you saw them there, it's like this wasn't a ceremonial coin. That was the actual coin that was handled. And so it showed a little bit of integrity there. I was I was pretty happy to see that.

[00:26:21]>> Yes, that is good. Yeah.

[00:26:23]>> Yeah. Because I was like, if it's not there, I'm going to I'm going to throw a fit.

[00:26:28]>> Yes. And I remember going to the auction I remember going to the auction site and looking there's that fingerprint because I remember because I did a story on that.

[00:26:35]>> I did a video >> and I was like I was like man there you know there's that that fingerprint or that thumb print is like so obvious and there it was on the on the on the auction page. It's like stacks and bowers is like yeah there it is.

[00:26:54]>> Bill was saying we had a great visitor at my coin club. a guy that works with metals. When the mint was looking to keep uh the cost down on minting nickel, they picked a guy's metal formula that couldn't use it. It would not work in the vetting. Oh, yeah.

[00:27:10]>> Yeah, >> that is that is a real thing. Um vending machines require a very specific um magnetic signature and if something goes through and it doesn't drip that, it will not work. [00:27:32]>> I think that's why they use clad coins with this copper sandwich that gives it that 88% copper. It's just enough to where it still triggers it. So, now they got to find some sort of new material that will uh be consistent with that uh with that mag electromagnetic signature.

[00:27:50]>> Yeah. And I know they they try every couple years to figure out some stuff and they work. They're always doing metal urgy, right?

[00:27:58]>> But it'll be interesting to see if they come out with some new stuff. I I would love it if they got rid of the zinc because I can't stand the zinc.

[00:28:06]>> They only last like two years.

[00:28:08]>> Right.

[00:28:11]>> So, now that we're on the coin topic, are you collecting anything from the mint?

[00:28:17]I'm going to It's been tough because this has been a bad year for me uh financially, but I'm trying to save up for the best of the men if I can get those. And tomorrow they're releasing the enhanced uncirculated and uh gold for the first time ever. And man, I'm on the fence on that one.

[00:28:36]>> Yeah, I think there's there's a couple things. I got this one right here.

[00:28:41]I did pick that up because I knew that it was going to be ations >> is going to be this the smaller mintage of those. I was able to get that. Got that in. That came back at 70. I was happy.

[00:28:54]>> Nice. Congratulations.

[00:28:56]>> But I'm going to Yeah, but dump bump.

[00:28:59][laughter] No pun intended. Um >> yeah, >> but uh the only the only other one that I want is I want to get that uh best of the bit, but I want to do the cat bust.

[00:29:09]That's the only one that really that both of them I I like them. both of both the designs.

[00:29:16]There's there's a couple different ones.

[00:29:17]I mean, I like the Mercury dime and I do like the uh standing liberty quarter design, but some of those silver medals.

[00:29:29]>> I know. I'm not a big fan of them either. But here's the thing, you know, uh they they picked those designs out of a um out of a survey, which I took part in. I actually talked about that on my channel, too. And so people voted on what designs they wanted to see. And so, you know, the copy of the FL of the 1804 dollar, you know, as an example of that's the one you're referring to. I would love to get that one, too. That's >> y >> that's the one that I I'm looking forward to probably the most. But anyways, um but they shouldn't even should not have included the eight the uh the uh the dime, the quarter, and the half dollar because those were done in 2016 to recognize the centennial of the release of this Adolf Wyman designs in gold. 10th ounce, quarter ounce, and half ounce.

[00:30:15]>> Yep. And that's going to minimize that coin.

[00:30:20]>> Yeah. And now it is different because these have the original dates and they'll have the uh the the 250 bell privy on them. But uh still it's it's it's you're rehashing what was already done before not too long ago, 10 years ago now. They should have chose the flying eagle scent. They should have chose, you know, the the seated liberty dime. Uh you know, there's a number of different classic coin designs that could have been uh struck in gold.

[00:30:50]uh and uh you know and and and honestly too the high relief gold double eagle they did a ultra high relief version of that in 2009 and and uh you know even though I'm anxious it' be neat to see it because it is still a little bit different uh and I know it's going to have the original 1907 date with no motto by the way but still it's uh you know I I think that there's plenty of other coin designs that were really good that they could have used uh and done and gold. Um, shoot the V- nickel would have been pretty interesting.

[00:31:24]Interesting.

[00:31:24]>> I was just about to go. There's so many opportunities.

[00:31:27]Um, how cool would it have been is if they did the gold in the racketeer nickel style, you know what I mean?

[00:31:35]>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That would have it would have kind of looked like the racketeer nickel. Yeah. Exactly.

[00:31:39]>> It would have been such a neat piece with uh a great story behind it or >> Yeah. you know, and they do the Peace Dollars and they do the Morgans and they do all the big wigs, but what about doing something like totally offthe-wall?

[00:31:56]Why not doing something like the flying scent quarter? [laughter] >> You know what I mean? Like, take some of those really neat designs >> and put them on the dollars, you know, put them on the half ounce gold or the platinum coins or, you know what I mean?

[00:32:13]Take those and make give us good designs. No, they have >> they sort of did that. They sort of did that starting in 2017 with the palladium eagle series.

[00:32:22]>> Yeah.

[00:32:23]>> You know, they uh they created a high relief um 1 bullion coin, which mostly collector collector coins now, but they did make them bullion for 2017.

[00:32:35]And uh and so yeah, and I think 2024 they they minted a few bullion versions of them. But but that's a cool design.

[00:32:42]They did a great job with that. I think the Buffalo um gold uh is another popular product that has been produced that stays true to the original design intent and it's a $50 gold coin.

[00:32:59]>> Yep.

[00:33:00]>> Not Yeah.

[00:33:02]>> Well, I mean there's so many there's so many neat pieces and I I mean you have pattern coins you could have chose from.

[00:33:09]I mean, could you imagine having a 50 cent Stella, >> you know, that would be something? Yeah.

[00:33:16]>> Now, granted, the reverse would have to be different, but there's so many amazing designs. Um, and the other thing is when you're talking about collectible, silver, gold, we are lacking significantly behind like the Rome Mint in Canada, Tovo, um, in our design quality. [laughter] They they just have cooler stuff.

[00:33:40]>> They do. And and uh it's not only the the design quality, it's the um it's the it's the fact that they're limited based off of what Congress uh can can approve. And also the uh the CC the CFA, the Commission of Fine Arts, and the CCAC, they present these designs and uh a lot of them are pretty bad. Um, and I think that these companion silver medals, they could have knocked it out of the park with these if they really wanted to.

[00:34:13]>> Oh, agree.

[00:34:14]>> Um, and they just it was a massive punt.

[00:34:18]>> Uh, if if it even was that, you know, it's really unfortunate.

[00:34:22]>> Well, remember they took a massive right turn, too, from the direction that they were going in. Um, we saw significant changes in some of the coin designs.

[00:34:34]Um, it could have been even worse.

[00:34:36][laughter] >> Wow.

[00:34:37]>> Some of the stuff that they came out with, it was actually uh quite surprising when you look at some of the designs that were out there.

[00:34:45]>> And granted, I like some of the stuff that they had, but uh >> it just like you're you're going down the wrong path, folks. We have to remember >> what the semi-quincentennial is celebrating.

[00:34:58]>> It's the signing of the Declaration of Independence, >> not the supporting advents. Now, a lot of people say, "Well, that's not true.

[00:35:05]It all tied to independence." I get it.

[00:35:08]I get the argument, but it really is about going back to the origins. I really think it would have been cool to have some of the first coinage flowing hair scent. Um, and I mean, like really going back. How cool would it have been to do the final panty as a flowing hair?

[00:35:28]>> Oh, yeah. It would have been it would have been great. I think that what the semi-quincentennial program should have been about is instead of the of course like you said as far as those designs some of them were just uh woke as well as just uh totally unrelated to the the uh what the event we celebrate is the declaration of independence. There's enough design and stories behind the independence story and the fight in the revolutionary war.

[00:35:57]Uh we don't need to talk about the pilgrims. We don't need to talk about u um the constitution. This is not about the constitution, by the way, what what we're celebrating here at 250. And and we don't need to talk about uh uh the the uh the Civil Rights Act or or the 14th Amendment, the Freedom of Slaves, which is what the Final Quarter with Lincoln on it is about. Um and so, you know, you have all these different ones.

[00:36:23]And by the way, if you look at those designs, most of them are rehashing uh designs that have already been on coins recently. For instance, the uh of course the the the Revolutionary War quarter is apppropo for for the independence uh story here, right? But the but the oper has a portrait of George Washington as wait for it, president.

[00:36:47]He was not president during the Revolutionary War. There was no president on the Revolutionary War. And and so they have a picture of an older Washington as president that's taken directly from the 2007 Washington dollar, presidential dollar, same portrait, same design. Um, and so, uh, they've really missed the mark on some of these. And I know some of it was, uh, CFA and Scott Bessant getting involved in it and, and I respect some of that, but they really should not be. I they would have been better served having a a couple of quarters on the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, maybe one other event surrounding very closely tied to that, you know, the Continental Congress, the meeting to to discuss independence. Uh Patrick Henry, give me give me liberty, give me death.

[00:37:37]There's so many different historical events.

[00:37:39]>> Sons of liberty.

[00:37:40]>> Yep.

[00:37:41]>> Out of Boston, the Sons of Liberty story.

[00:37:44]>> Give me liberty or give me death.

[00:37:46]>> Yep. Paul Rivere. Um, and so but they could have done a several quarters like that. They could have they could have re they could have uh did our first coinage, you know, with the uh with the flowing, you know, with the flowing hair uh dollar. They could have put that on a half dollar. They could have they could have put those old those classic designs on them as well on the on the averse. I mean, I I will say that the dime they did a great job on the averse of the dime. That's my favorite of the of the all all the coins this year.

[00:38:19]>> 100% agree. The dime was a was a a home run.

[00:38:23]>> And the eagle on the reverse is controversial. I posted a video about it. It because it's such a small canvas, people don't that looks like a headless eagle, but the eagle's head is just uh pointing down. Uh uh you know, it's it's just down. It's uh so it's looking down as it's flying away, but it's hard.

[00:38:45]>> So we have in COD we trust for heaven's sakes, [laughter] right?

[00:38:50]>> Yeah, we got in God we trust. That's right.

[00:38:52]>> Well, no, it's in COD we trust.

[00:38:54]Remember, everybody's talking about that that G being a C. It's just a bad design element. It's not even a thing.

[00:39:01]>> Um but people will run with stuff. They will just run. Yep.

[00:39:05]>> Yeah.

[00:39:10]Well, man, I tell got to tell you, I just I'm I'm glad we have the same uh same general mindset. So, in that, I need to ask one more question. We're going to wrap it up.

[00:39:22]>> Do you think the US Mint has any crazy fun plans for the 4th of July?

[00:39:29]>> You know, I think if uh Mr. Hollis if he is uh he probably does have something planned and he's probably keeping it a secret because I've not heard of anything. Um but uh it'll be very interesting and fascinating to see. I've heard that they're in greatly increas increasing the production of our semiquesentennial coins. I'm glad they're doing that, but I have not heard of anything and but my guess is probably uh there they do have something planned.

[00:39:58]It is a very special time and July the 4th there's a lot going on and the US Mint should commemorate it. My my my feeling is that they may introduce uh they were going to introduce a limited mintage of 47 two 20 ounce or 19.7 ounce gold Donald Trump coins. I actually posted a video about that and uh uh but they're not going to be able to make that. But uh they they're also going to uh introduce a Donald Trump dollar coin. But here's the thing that I think would really be cool that they could introduce on July 4th and they may do it. And that is a uh a coin, a $2.50 coin that is uh an a replica of the quincentennial, the 150th anniversary, the 1926 $2.5 gold piece. Have you seen that?

[00:40:54]>> I have not.

[00:40:56]>> It's got Lady Liberty. If I man, I wish I could have brought one out to show you, but um it's got Lady Liberty standing up holding the Declaration of Independence as one big scroll on the on the averse. And uh and it's a really cool design and they made it for the it's a $2.5 about a tenth of an ounce of gold. And on the reverse will be a very familiar design if you are know the bicesentennial half-dollar. It has Liberty. It has the uh Independence Hall.

[00:41:29]>> Independence Hall. Yeah.

[00:41:31]>> Independence Hall. And that originally from the half-dollar came from this coin. So that is the design that is. And so that coin they are saying is going to be coming out and it may be introduced.

[00:41:46]It may be introduced on July 4th.

[00:41:50]And then if that does happen, then I will be probably have to go back into my spaceship and head back off to space.

[00:41:57]>> I was just about to say, did you see International's comment?

[00:42:01]>> Well, yeah. I mean, it's it's all out in the open now. So, I've got to because I am an alien, but I'm not an illegal alien. I do have my green card, [laughter] but I did paint it pink because I like pink with little pink with raspberry polka dots on it.
