Dry, empty, exactly what you'd expect from a desert. But then something strange happens. During the rainy season, water fills the spaces between the dunes, creating thousands of bright blue lagoons. So instead of sand stretching forever, you get a desert full of water. It looks like someone photoshopped lakes into the middle of nowhere, but it's completely natural.
