The Schwerer Gustav (also known as Dora or Heavy Gustav) was Germany's largest artillery cannon during World War II, measuring 155 feet in total length with the barrel and 106 feet for the cannon itself; it fired shells approximately the size of a 1940s double-decker bus and was destroyed in 1943, with historical records indicating it fired only about 47 rounds or fewer during its operational lifetime.

Custom Lego wwii artillery cannon追加:
Hey, what's up guys? Lego Labs here.
Today we're doing another custom Lego build. You're probably wondering what in the world is that? A castle with a crooked chimney? No.
Today we're going to be doing a little history for our little design that we did here.
You'll find the information of this in the description down below, but I'll give you a few pointers of what this is.
This probably doesn't look like it from real life. This is called the Schwerer Gustav. It is Germany's largest artillery cannon, but it's not around anymore because they destroyed it in 1943.
But instead of you calling it the Schwerer Gustav, I know it sounds like swear, you can just call it the Dora or the heavy Gustav. That's what it's called.
And yes, this cannon can actually shoot.
This took me a long time to do. I did as much as I possibly can. It's very fragile in the back there, so we're going to be very very careful today.
But I'm going to show you a few things that this can do, and then I'll fire it for you.
And then we will be I'll be doing a video about um some helmets that I made.
And uh we'll also do some size comparisons with this so I can show you exactly how big it is. This is literally how big it is compared to my hand.
That's just pointer for you guys.
And let's just dive right into this.
Okay, first of all, let's do a few um fun facts about this. The Schwerer Gustav or heavy Gustav or Dora has a few nicknames.
Largest artillery cannon measuring to be 155 with the barrel. But the The itself was 106 ft long. It fired shells about the size of buses from London, a double-decker bus from 1940s.
What is so unique about this cannon that I made is that this lever controls the entire thing. So, let's get some space at least as much as we possibly can because this is literally swallowing up the desk. You pull this down for it to go down and you pull it up also, but before you do that, I'll slide that back.
It can go at least this high up.
I don't know if you can see, but the piston right there, that's what's keeping it from going back, but that's the firing pin.
So, we'll get into a few other things for it. Anyway, it can go about this far up because it has to be level cuz the gun was never made for um straight shooting. It was always made for long distances, but it can it can go farther down.
I'll show you how to load in a bullet.
I'll show you how the back elevators work.
And you'll be able to see exactly how this works.
I have no idea how many pieces this has.
I'm going to guess maybe roughly definitely over 1,000.
It was really annoying to make this, so please like and subscribe this video.
Leave your ideas of what I should make next in the comments. Now, I'm going to just do a full 360 around so you can see.
Let's just first start with the elevators.
Sometime This is a very loose elevator, so if you want to do a stop motion where the elevator is going to fall, this is uh definitely it.
As you can see, it sometimes gets a little bit jammed, but it's okay. And then this is the little bit better elevator.
Sometimes the cable snaps.
But um hopefully it won't today.
At first, I made to have one elevator, but then I noticed that it actually had two.
So, LEGO designers, whenever you build, always try to put as many details as you possibly can.
And then this is the main belt which the bullet goes on top of this, slides up the ramp and into the barrel.
And then this is the piston which moves it. I know that you're probably like, you can just put your you can just take your bullet and put it in there, but if you want to do a stop motion, you can actually use this to, you know, make it real.
I'll give you a good look in the barrel as much as I possibly can.
There's the barrel, as you can see. And then actually this opens up in case you want to get better access.
And this entire thing with the rubber with the power of rubber bands, we pull this entire thing back the firing mechanism back, lock it in with a pin at the last circle at the last hole where the uh technic piece would go. And then we'll just uh see how that goes, okay?
And you can close it back down. Now, we will get into some size comparisons.
Okay, first things first, we are going to compare the Schwerer Gustav to the 2026 or 2025 Kovenant Speeder.
And also here's a good look at the Speeder. I'll also do a short for this, so keep an eye out for that.
Here it is compared to a Star Wars bobble head, Boba Fett, my favorite Star Wars character.
Measures about I don't know how many studs. Sorry, couldn't count.
But it measures pretty much pretty good.
>> And here we're going to compare to the Lego Batmobile.
Really good Batmobile. It's my only Batmobile actually. I love how it looks like it's literally connected to the floor.
And now we'll compare it to the official uh Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1.
Here it is compared to it. I don't know if you can get a good view. Let's go up on the top.
And it turns out that um it's only missing a few studs for it to be measured out from it.
Little piece fell off.
If you guys want, I can do a video for this.
And I'm going to show you real quick my collection and you can tell me what you want me to do. What the next video you want me to do.
This is my Lego collection.
You want, you can pause the video right now and take a look of what you would like me to do.
Also have a few up here on the ceiling.
Whatever you want me to do, leave it down in the comments.
And now for the last and final thing, a firing test for the Schwerer Gustav.
All righty. I'll show you how to load it in. What you're going to want to do is slide the entire main chat Well, I call it a chassis. That's not what it's called. I forgot. Let's call it the loading table.
You're going to want to slide the loading table.
And this is the bullet that it's going to shoot. I'll probably do some upgrades to so that it can shoot bigger bullets.
You're going to want to grab it nice and sturdy and try not to break it, but remove your pin.
This is going to take a while.
Close that up.
Matter of fact, let's just put the pin right here and then let's see if it shoots. Ready?
Well, let's see if it loads up. Ready?
All righty, looks like it works now.
Then after that, as you can see if we lift this up the entire the insider the entire mechanism will be put there.
You're going to want to face this instead of the angle pointing downward, you're going to want to face it just like this. Put it just like that onto there. Now, I have shot this before and sometimes it gets jammed, so bear with me.
Then what you're going to want to do is pull the entire thing back without dropping it cuz I've dropped so many bills before.
Oh.
Wrong one. That's actually the mechanism that holds it in place.
Bam. There you go.
You shot the entire thing. Funny fun fact about the Schwerer Gustav, I think it only shot 47 rounds or less or more, I don't know. But, you'll find the facts and other things down in the comments down below. If you like Lego lives, please give a like and subscribe.
Share with anybody that you think might enjoy this video and stay and keep building.
I will see you in the next video. Also, we'll make this in a video game coming soon. The Schwerer Gustav in Little Big Planet.
