Starstruck is a logic puzzle where you must place exactly one star in each row, column, and colored region while ensuring no two stars touch; effective solving strategies include identifying single-color rows or columns to place stars at intersections, using elimination techniques when stars are placed in the same column or region, and applying binary option analysis to resolve complex placements by considering all possible star locations and their consequences.

Starstruck May 29, 2026 | Netflix PuzzledAdded:
Hello, let's do the Netflix puzzled Starstruck for May 29th. This one's called we'll do the easy and the hard.
The easy is called polypropylene. Let's play.
All right, so the what the way we play is in each row, each column, and each colored region, we need to place exactly one star. Also, stars can't touch. So, a star here and a star here would not be allowed. Well, that's cuz if they're both in green, but these two would wouldn't be allowed cuz they touch.
All right, so that means that we just immediately get a star in this brown because there's only one brown cell, that's where the star goes.
Now, there's something to always look out for at the start of a puzzle, which can really give you a nice boost, which is this entire column and this entire row are all one single color, all this indigo color.
So, we need to place a star in this column. We need to place a star in this row, but we're only allowed one star in indigo. And when this column places a star, it's going to be an indigo. When this row places a star, it's going to be an indigo, meaning the only way to resolve that is to put the star where they share a cell, right there, where they intersect.
All right. Now, placing this brown did give us this yellow.
Um By the way, what I did may seem like why did you bother doing that? That took you like 30 seconds to do, but I mean, it would take it's literally just click the star, right?
I If you don't you don't have to explain it to anybody.
Um all right, these two blues are in the same column, so that eliminates the rest of the column, but also eliminates these two cuz they touch both of the blues. It would also eliminate these two if they weren't already.
Um oh, green's down to one star.
Orange is, blue is, and red is. All right.
That was probably a plonker, but I took the opportunity. Yeah, I lost my streak so I didn't play yesterday.
Um Oops, I did the wrong thing here.
Okay.
I took the opportunity to explain some techniques that are useful in the hard.
All right, star formation.
Star hard.
All right, I'm just going to get rid of some of the more obvious formation work here.
Uh these two line up, so we can get rid of these.
Um get rid of those for cuz of orange.
Oh.
Did I get rid of those, too? Yeah, I got rid of those, too. So, we can get rid of these.
It's the two sole region. Uh these two see this one and this one.
Let's see.
Where do we go from here?
One of these two's always true.
Hmm.
Okay, maybe there's some lineups I'm missing.
Top four, yeah, top four might be helpful.
Or bottom four, take your pick.
Bottom four might be easier to think about, but I'll show you how to think about both ways.
It If you find one, the other's also true. Um so, let's talk about the top four. We know that we're going to have exactly four stars in four rows, one star per row.
Um so, what and each of those stars needs a unique color.
Oh, hold on. There's five color. 1 2 3 No, there's four colors, never mind. Um each of the stars needs a unique color, so we can put one somewhere in indigo, we can put another one somewhere in green, we can put a third one in brown, we can put a fourth one in orange. But, there isn't color. We've exhausted all the colors, and so that's what we're going to have to do.
Meaning any blue, green, brown, or orange that isn't above this line is not allowed to be a star, so we'd eliminate this one and these greens and the rest of orange.
Um another way to think about that is below the line um we have exactly four stars cuz there's four rows, and we know one's definitely going to be in yellow because yellow's completely below the line. We also know one's definitely going to be in gray cuz gray is completely below the line. One's definitely going to be in blue and one's definitely going to be in red.
And that's all four of them. Meaning that if you're below this line and you're not yellow, gray, blue, or red, then you aren't a star, which eliminates the exact same things.
>> [clears throat] >> So, however you want to think about it.
Sometimes finding one is a little easier than finding the other cuz one might be two columns and the other is eight columns or something like that. I don't know what just happened.
Uh my pen tool decided to do something absolutely insane.
Okay.
Um we're paused.
Great.
I need to remember not to drag it like that. All right. Um continue.
All right, we're going to clear that.
So, what Wow, that was distracting.
Um two left here, so these are out.
I need to think about what we eliminated. It might Oops. Ooh, it might help these rows.
One of these two.
Hm.
Got these columns.
What did the What did that do?
What did that do?
I'm not seeing anything.
We got rid of these two.
Still a lot of greens.
Okay, I was hoping that would do it, but it didn't seem to.
>> [sighs and gasps] >> Oh, this is out because of the two blues.
That's what I'm missing. So, these are out. Does that do it?
>> [sighs] >> If so, I'm not seeing it.
This row Hmm.
I get rid of anything else but this one brown.
This first down to these two. I talked about that before.
All right, I'm going to start thinking about cells that have binary options that are all they're also very powerful. So, this column is here or here. Both seem pretty powerful. So, this one the important bits are that it play it eliminates this guy, which places that one, which eliminates this guy, which places that one, which eliminates these two, which places that one. So, that's the four below the line.
Um oh, no. Sorry.
That's three That's four That's that that breaks immediately. Oh. Okay. So, let's let's think about this a little bit more closely.
So, a a star here eliminates this one and this one.
And then the star here that's forced in gray eliminates that one.
So, wherever blue is Yeah, so I guess an alternative way to think about that is blue has two options. This one immediately eliminates this guy. This one just takes one little step to eliminate that guy.
So, however you want to think about it, that one's not possible. And then we can place this star.
And that was very powerful against green.
Um So, what now?
Uh Not enough? Oh, orange.
Okay.
Okay, so this row now has to be yellow.
One of these two.
One of these two.
One of two.
These two.
Uh Love to do something with that.
Green is down to these three, actually.
That takes out both of these.
Touches all of them.
So, now brown's down to these two, which eliminates those. Now, green has to be here. That's blue, that's red, that's gray, that's brown, and we're done.
Okay.
Little tricky today.
A few A few different spots that were important.
Cool. Well, how'd you do?
