Coastal weather often begins with foggy conditions due to marine layer formation, where cool ocean air moves inland and creates low visibility, but as the day warms, the fog typically clears and temperatures rise significantly, with inland areas experiencing much higher temperatures than coastal regions.

Foggy conditions to start will give way to much warmer weather this afternoonAdded:
neighbors' pool, you can crash the party. Uh, what type of conditions could we expect?
>> Well, today especially up in our interior valleys, areas like Paso [music] Robles, say it's going to be a great day to head out to the pool because it's going to be a hot one, even warmer than it was yesterday. 94° was our high temperature yesterday across the Paso Robles area, 73 in San Luis Obispo, 81 in Santa Ynez, in the mid to upper 60s across our western and south coast beaches. Now, today we're going to warm up even more, although we are starting with a very different pattern, and that is a lot of fog to start off the day. Kind of similar to what we saw yesterday with some clearing as we headed through the mid-afternoon hours, clearing out the last of that cloud cover. That's what we're going to be seeing once again today. Additionally, we'll also be seeing these slightly higher waves across our western beaches.
Just something to be aware of, but as you head out the door this morning, at least Pismo Beach looking pretty good out there. No major concerns, but this is one of the very few cameras where you can see pretty much anything out there right now cuz just off our shores you can see that marine layer sitting and waiting, and that's in place for many of our coastal valleys this morning, all thanks to those winds. Northwesterly winds about 10 mph are helping to bring in that marine layer across many of our communities, and that's really where we're seeing some concerns this morning.
Starting off with that that cloud cover and fog, it's still extending a little bit more, but it will be starting to clear out just in the next about hour or so, but we're starting to see some of those tendrils of this marine layer fog throughout portions of Morro Bay, along all of our north coast communities, through San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, down through Lompoc and the Santa Ynez Valley, as well as along our south coast. Even up in Paso Robles, a little bit has made its way down the southern sliver valley into the Paso Robles area. So, visibilities are a bit tricky this morning, especially as you head from Santa Maria down towards Santa Ynez, especially through the Santa Ynez Valley, near Solvang, areas like that and Los Alamos have very limited visibilities right now. Just be cautious on those roadways where visibilities may fall, can be a little bit tricky out there. Temps are very consistent out there as well. They're very much near those sea surface temperatures, which means more of those fog conditions still in place. About 50 in Santa Ynez, 54 in San Luis Obispo, 56 up in Paso Robles today. There is a little bit of some wind gust concern for this morning, especially down near Lompoc and along some of our southern western beaches, near Vandenberg especially. Some of those wind gusts upwards of 20 mph this morning. Just something that you may notice as you head out the door. Temps later on today will soar. 70 in Santa Barbara, 73 in Lompoc, 74 in Santa Maria, 81 in San Luis Obispo, 98° in Paso Robles. Cooler but still in the 90s for Friday. Then temperatures really take a tumble into the weekend as we get into the low 80s in Paso Robles, low 70s in San Luis Obispo, even some 60s in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. Then we'll clear out and stay pretty close to normal for this time of the year for the first half of next week. Shannon, back to you.
