When repairing trailer brakes, all four drums must be inspected and adjusted to ensure balanced braking; if only one wheel had functional brakes, the brake controller gain must be recalibrated to prevent the trailer from pulling the truck excessively during braking.

Josh and Ted's Somewhat Excellent AdventureAdded:
Hey guys, this not a quick speed shop. I got a trip coming up. We're going to Spring Carile. I got Ted here. He's got his camper over there. We're going to work on that. We're going to buy some stuff. We're going to do all kinds of crazy things. I might even run a mini excavator in this video. I don't know.
We'll see where it goes. So, uh, let's start a whole weekend of debauchery right now. Well, guys, once again, we are on an adventure. First adventure of the year. I'm struggling through it cuz I got Ted in the van. Hello, Ted.
>> Hey, what's happening?
>> Got to turn the Hold And I got to turn the direction sound down. Don't get them crappy. We stopped at my mom's house to get some cookies. Now we're on the road.
We already stopped at a little junkyard.
We're going to spring car aisle 2025 in the boogie van. And uh is anybody behind me? I can't see nothing.
>> These make girl chocolate cookies look like a joke.
>> Got some homemade cookies for my mom.
She's off galling around somewhere. So we uh we off the curb. We stopped to get some cookies and now we're on the road again. We're heading to Hoses and Smoking Dam for early dinner with we'll be there with the early birds and then we're going to buddy Bob's house. Then we're tomorrow we're going to Carile on Friday. So all the all the important people have already been there and bought all the good stuff. But we'll uh we'll go buy something or look for something to buy. Went to the pick and pull looking for Dodge Diplomats and bought a battery. Went to the DMV.
Got the title in my name for the diplomat. So, that was fun.
>> Didn't you see that blonde waved us?
>> She waved.
>> She waved us. She was doing back and help.
>> All the ladies love the boogie van. They like the wave. Hey, ladies. So, we're uh we're on tour. Me and Ted were on tour.
There he is. We're on tour in the old boogeyman. We're a little off course, but we're getting back on course and we're heading on the highway. Going to our favorite restaurant, Hosas. Let's go to Hosas. It'll be an early bird special. Get the buffet.
I can't believe you're drinking coffee at freaking 2:00 in the afternoon.
You're crazy.
>> They're waving. They're all looking at this van like we never seen it before.
>> Maybe Maybe it's on fire. Is it on fire?
>> I'm on fire.
>> Yeah. First big road trip.
Truth be told, I've been having trouble driving. Anxiety problems related to the stroke and like weird sensations. So, it's our first big trip.
Ted's here to grab the wheel. If I pass out and die, he can grab the grab the wheel and steal it and steer it over to the side of the road. Other than that, we're on we're on task. Got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes. It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
We got lucky. It's like 75 degrees out.
We're in Smoking Dam. I'm at the Hoses.
We hit it on 15 all the way down. And uh >> freak out, freak out, >> freak out. Ted almost had to grab the wheel. I I don't know what's going on, but >> freak out.
>> It's related to my stroke anxiety driving in heavy traffic like PTSD.
Anyways, we haven't died yet and we're going to our friend Bob's house an hour and a half from here and it's going to be rush hour. Perfect. But we're in the boogie van and we just had hoses.
>> Look at that purple. Look at that purple. Look at that purple Camaro over there. Purple Camaro down there.
Anyways, we're on the road 15 heading south.
Heat.
Heat.
All right, Ted, here we yard. It's Friday morning. We're pulling out of Bob's.
We're going to Carile.
>> All time. Let's hit it, baby.
>> We got the wagon.
>> Money.
>> Money. Oh, wait. I got my money. What are we looking for? I don't know. I'll know it when I see it.
>> The bridge is out on 74, so we'll have to figure that out. But >> I'm looking for stickers and porn.
>> Oh my god, you're disgusting. I'm looking for I'm looking for car porn.
Old car parts.
>> That's right.
>> Um I'm shady. Shady movies. We'll make it there eventually. It's Friday, so all the good stuff sold three days ago.
We're This is We're just going to pick up the pieces. We're non-serious. I'm looking for hooker header stickers.
That's what I want. A hooker header sticker. I love it.
>> We're non-serious for jokers showing up at the end of the event. But it is what it is.
>> Getting our our four miles 8 miles of walking. 8 miles of walking today.
That's the goal.
>> Now, look at guys, I'm not going to film today this year at Carile because it's too much. So, I got my expensive camera and it's too much to try to watch it and hang on to it and I came here to look and walk and uh if you want to go back on the channel, we have done a couple of spring carile videos over the last couple of years. Basically, it's car parts and stuff. So, we're not going to film at Carile cuz it's too much for me to do. I don't have a film crew like the big guys says in a TV show.
And uh it's just too hard for me to deal with everything there. So um look forward to Hershey for events cuz I'm there on site so I can film a Hershey. But Carile basically just going as as a customer in Dubai and uh too hard for me to make a video there and nobody watches those videos anyways. So we're just going to go and spend money >> and then see what we got. But we're going to hang out at Bob's and monkey around with some other stuff for content here in a second. All right, we'll see you uh when we get back. Hey, there's a new house over a new barn. Look at that new barn. Somebody's been doing burnouts in this road. Look at that. Holy moly.
There's a new barn. All right, we made it back from Carile. Like I said, we spent all day there Friday. Weather is great. Walked nine miles dragging the dragging the wagon. I'm dying. Like I'm I'm on injured reserve, bro. and like dragging all the stuff is nuts. The people over there, the traffic was unbelievable. I got a bunch of stuff back here. I got a model A door I bought from Iron Trap. I got uh some I'll show you when we get home, but some Derby caps. I got a Mopar four barrel intake manifold for my Dodge Diplomat project for 25 bucks. Sorry things. But now we're going to do some uh my friend Bob got a new mini excavator.
We're going to do some mini excavating.
I'm going to show you that I'm an operator extraordinaire. Another thing I can do at the shop, be equipment operator. So, we're going to fire up this uh Yanmar 35 mini excavator. And this is for my buddy Thad back home.
We'll show them going to be a big operator making the big bucks. These bees are a menace.
All right, we got a Kamasu 35 here. Or I'm sorry, is it Kamasu Yanmar? whatever it is. Let's uh first of all, we're going to put the seat belt on cuz you don't want to fall out and get killed.
Safety third.
Here we go. It's going to beep at you.
Oops. Hold on. I already got to leave this off.
There we go. And we put this guy down.
There we go. Operator extraordinaire.
Give her a little throttle.
We're going to pick up the boom.
There we go. I'm going to curl the bucket in.
And then we got to pick up our blade.
Aha.
Now, this thing's like barely reaching to get out of this shed, but we're going to try it. Oh boy. Here we go.
Got to put our boom down a little bit.
Here we go. Holy moly. That's tight.
Like a tiger.
Here we go. We're coming out. Coming on out.
Operator extraordinaire.
All right, here I come.
Bob wants to pick up these posts. We're going to use the thumb.
Spoiler alert. I've never used a thumb before. So, we'll uh we'll see how that works out.
I love tracking in the yard and making a mess.
All right, so we're going to go up here.
Hold on a minute. Figuring it out.
Got to go down here. We're going to open the bucket. We're going to pull in.
I was laboring for my buddy Thad the other day and I was yelling at him. I'm like, "Do this, do that."
It was funny.
Oh, easy now.
Got to easy with the thumb controls, bro.
Easy. Easy. We just ripped out the gas man. We just ripped out everything.
I haven't operated like in 2 years.
Uhoh, that didn't sound good.
Curl, curl, curl to you. We're going to curl a little bit. We're going to use the thumb a little bit. Oh, >> hey.
>> What?
>> Don't advance the thumb all the way. I don't want that to this.
>> Okay.
>> Well, don't put your hand in there.
Don't. So, I don't want this thing to extend until it smacks this piece with the with the actual >> Yeah. I got to clear I got to close the bucket some.
>> Exactly. Basically, just bring it down so it's close.
Throw the bucket into it.
Well, I can't pick up everything at once here. I'm going to open it up a little bit.
No, I'm opening it. I'm opening the thumb a little bit. I'm going to curl.
I'm going to curl. I'm going to curl.
I'm going to curl to you. I'm going to go down.
>> If you want all at once, you got to back up.
>> I'm not trying to I'm not trying not trying to grab them all at once. It just happened that way.
>> But you got you got to back up.
>> I'm going to curl a little bit.
I'm going to curl to you. I'm curling.
I'm going to give a little thumb.
Oh, I got There we go.
I got to grab her a little bit. Grab her a little bit. Curl. Curl to you. There we go.
Where you Where do you want these?
On the other ones.
All right.
Careful.
First time operating. Oops.
No. There we go.
Don't hit the building.
We got an operator over here.
He's an operator.
We got an operator now.
Keep your chassis straight. There we go.
You know what?
Instead of tearing up the yard, we're going to track in and out. Now we're just going to we're going to swivel like this. There we go. Now we know what we're doing. We're kicking a kerosene now. Open up the curl. We're going to open her up. We're going to come down.
Easy. Going to come down.
We're going to come in flat curl to you.
Open her up a little bit. We're going to come in flat. Yep. Down. Down. Down.
Down.
Down.
This is where you got to use both hands.
Yep. Okay. Curl to you. We're going to curl a little bit. Let's curl. Curl.
Curl. Curl. Curl. Curl. Yep. There we go. Curl to you. Let's go down a little bit. Let's use a little thumb. Little thumb action. Yep. Got him. Pick it up.
Yep. Little something. There we go. Got it. Yep. There we go.
We're going to I'm going to come in.
There we go. We're now we're cooking a kerosene. Pick up the boom. There we go.
It's back around here. Look at that.
Regular operator now. Got him.
We got an operator.
Girl. Whoa.
Don't hit the building.
We got ourselves a regular operator.
This one's heavy with the concrete. Put the blade down.
Got him.
All right, we're going to we're going to dig in the hill here.
We're going to dig in the hill. We're going to try to dig in the hill. I got a piece of concrete apparently right about here.
Let's see if we can find it.
See if we can find it. We should have called 811 before we dug.
Oh, I feel it.
What do we got here?
Curl. Curl to got a B on me. Curl.
What we got? That doesn't look like concrete.
That's dirt. No concrete yet. We're looking for concrete. Let's go over here.
Looking for concrete. Looking for concrete.
Don't curl. Open. Down. Open.
That's no concrete there.
Where's the concrete at?
I don't see any concrete yet. It's all dirt, bro. Where's the concrete?
Sure there's concrete here? Hey, you sure there's concrete in here?
Oh, there it is. There it is. It >> It's right It's right there.
There it is.
Take and when you put down pressure on it, push her down into the ground and curl.
>> Yeah, I am.
Don't pull.
>> Pick the front of the machine right up.
>> I got it.
>> No, I'm not mounting it. You don't have to just just basically start burying it.
>> I know I'm on the edge. It's really big like the other one. You think?
>> Yeah.
Okay, pull that right back toward you.
>> I got to dig around it. It's not going to come out in one piece.
>> Oh, maybe it will.
>> Yeah, there she goes, >> Carl. There we go.
Get back in behind it.
>> Yeah.
Got it.
Got it. Holy moly. That's a big one.
That's a big chunk of concrete, bro.
Right around the camera.
Heat up here.
Heat up here.
Heat up Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat up here.
Heat.
Heat.
Well, as you can hear, the boogie bag is running. I got my David Fryburgger shirt on. Today, we're heading back to the quick speed shop. It's Saturday. Uh rain's coming, so Carile's over. But when we get back, I'll show you all the drinks we bought. The boogeyman van's going to go down to low idle here in a second with the uh fuel injection magical machine. I hear it. Ready?
Look at that. Levels right out. And uh when we travel back, hopefully make it back here. It looks like it's going to rain the whole way. We'll uh see the trinkets and we'll be on some more fun stuff with Ted >> and go on from there.
>> Okay, let's go.
>> What is that? A choke cable?
>> Yeah.
>> All right, guys. We're We're back from Spring Carile. Let's do over the go over the hall.
>> First thing, uh >> it's not burping.
>> It's not burping. We got a thing. I bought this at Iron Trap Garage. I saw this on their video. Uh my Model A coupe when I built it had doors just like this. The top's cut off. And I thought this might have been one of the original doors cuz I originally sold the doors off my car and uh they went to uh Jalapy Showdown. Then they end up at Hershey. I bought my driver side door back that's on the car and somebody had fixed the top of it. So I but I never found the passenger one. So I seen this car. The hinges are worth 100 bucks. So I found this door. Uh they had it and it's rust free. It's got a whammo in it here, but I thought it might have been the original door for my car. It wasn't. But I bought it. It's completely rust-free uh 3031 coupe door that I'm going to put a top on it and put it on the car because it will match the patina of the car a lot better than the one I faux patina it on there. So, I got that from Iron Trap Garage. Had to pay up for that, but it's a real nice door. Gave Mike and Matt some uh gas money to get back home. 300 bucks for that. Full price for full retail. Then we went saw my buddy uh Mike from uh North Northeast Vers Drags. He's from Mass. Uh old, what is it? Old uh this old hot rod on YouTube. Go check him out. He's got a killer dragster. And Mike had a whole bunch of stuff. He just bought out a clean out from a guy who uh was retiring. So I went and bought some exhaust tips from him. Got these three three tips. Oh, this one's an oval. Look at that. There's an oval on this one.
>> I stepped on that one.
>> You know, this could be a motorcycle one.
>> That's what I think it is.
>> That one's oddball. But these two, they could all be motorcycle. They're inch and 3/4, but they're flared out tips here. They could be motorcycle, but these would be super cool. Like on the 37 Ford or something, an early hot rod of small exhaust, they neck down.
They're kind of flared out. They're kind of neat. Um 20 buck, 25 bucks for all three of these. Or just put them on a chain and make windchimes out of them.
>> Oh my lord.
>> Crow windchimes. So, thanks Mike from those windchimes. And then uh what else I buy? Oh, for the the my dad's Buick, it's got Chevy rally wheels on it, and he had some kind of aftermarket cheap knockoff center caps, and they were rusty and stuff. So, I wanted a I like the original GM derby caps to go with the Chevy rally wheels, even though it's a Buick. And I was going to buy these repop, but I found this nice set for uh >> They came in paper.
>> I I wrapped them up. 120 bucks. A nice original set. They're all metal. You know, the the a lot of the reef pops, they're plastic or you can buy >> Oh, no. There's a number inside. Look at that.
>> The metal ones. What's the numbered?
>> Oh my god. Look at Let's see.
>> But these are uh >> I bet they're real.
>> These are nice driver quality. They're uh you know, 30 bucks a piece for a set of four of them. They're all really nice for for what the car is doing. They're better than knockoffs. The knockoffs are getting rusty. These got all the black paint on them. They're actually really nice driver quality derby caps. So, I got >> Oh my god. They say GM right on them.
>> That's awesome. They're original.
>> So, the guy was asking 140 for the set of four. I got them for 120 bucks.
>> Sweet.
>> Thought that was a good deal for those >> derby caps. And then I was looking for the diplomat here. Put want to put a four barrel on this. I was looking for a used like Edel Brock intake. And I saw one Mopar, especially small block Mopar aftermarket intakes are hard to find in the wild because they're not as popular as Chevy and Ford. I saw one for like 150. It was pretty crusty. But then we're going to get breakfast sandwich.
Just I spotted this h boat anchor. It's a original cast iron four barrel off a 77 small block Mopar. It's heavy, but it was 25 bucks. So, I'm going to mill the center of it out so I can run a modern style. It had a spread bore uh thermmo quad on it or whatever like that. It's very heavy, but I'm going to mill it out so I can run a metal brack on it. And $25 a block off the EGR. I couldn't go wrong. So, that'll go in this car. Holy crap. It's heavy.
>> You're not going to You're not going to believe it. It says Canada in it. Says Canada.
>> Made in Canada. So, >> made in Canada, baby, right there.
>> But the original DME.
>> So, we I spent like 450 bucks at Carla.
We We were there. How long? How many How many steps, Ted? How many steps?
>> Oh. Uh 10 and a half miles. 10 and a half freaking miles.
>> I'm hurting.
>> 21,000 steps. We got there about 8:00.
It was mobbed on Friday. Friday. The weather's great. It was freaking mobbed.
I dragged the wagon 10 and a half miles.
My hands are all worn out from dragging the wagon. Um, we walked round and round. We did everything except the very center of the upper hill cuz I couldn't just drag I had that intake on there.
The wagon was so freaking heavy. I couldn't drag it up the hill like in the center and on the really thick gravel.
It was just too much drag and I was dying. So, uh, we did every we hit it pretty hard and fast. Don't waste my good gloves.
um pretty hard and fast. But >> what are you doing?
>> I don't know. I'm bored. I got to play around.
>> We're filming the thing. So >> that's good. Don't cut it out.
>> Don't cut it out. So then uh so tomorrow we're going to a little uh swap meet one town over.
Those are brake fitting. They came of some line trinkets. So we're going to a little swap meet tomorrow. I don't know.
It's usually on like 10 or 12 vendors, but we're gonna just pop over there in the morning real fast. And then we're going to work on Ted's trailer. We got a whole weekend of activities here. You saw me running the mini excavator. We went to Carile. We're going to go to another little spot meet. Then we're going to put brakes on his trailer. So, we're not done yet. But it rained all day today.
>> Wait a minute. You got a lens fixed.
>> I know. I got to fix that. I put that didn't come with the car. I put it on there. But the uh weather was freaking crappy today. Cold and rainy. It was 75 and sunny in Carile. all the way back was freaking pouring and freezing. It's like 50° out. 45 50°. It's nasty. But we're going to keep at it. We'll see you tomorrow. We'll go see if we get anything at the other swap meet and then we'll monkey around to the trailer and trinkets and stuff. But we're going to go in and watch what is it? Dirty Mary Crazy Larry.
>> That's the one.
>> Back in the day with the Charger.
>> We're going to go watch that right now and uh see where we go from there. Let's go. Well, it's the next day here at Sunday morning. Did pretty good at the little swap meet. Check it out. Got a 440 cast iron factory intake manifolds.
A 68. Here's the date code 5668, but it's the style I need for the early intake for my 440 for my Daytona.
Obviously, it's not date correct and it doesn't really matter cuz I'm not building a date correct car, but it's a little pitted, but it's been sand blasted, it looks like. But fact, I've been looking for one of these. 50 bucks.
Uh, usually they're a lot more, like 100 and a half or so. So, we got that was a good score there. That'll go around my 440. I'll just clean it up a little bit more. And I was happy to see that factory original style intake for it so I can backdate my engine. So, that was awesome. And then what is this? Oh no.
Oh no. My buddy Paul the Pinstriper talked me into this. This guy had this T bucket body.
It's like a 23T with a turtle deck or 28567 with a turtle deck. Steering columns, my buddies. Oops, I got texted.
The steering columns, my buddies. But, uh, I tried to bundle it with a power glide for 100 and a half. The guy wouldn't go for that. I think he's going to regret it later because not a big call for power glides right now, but especially aluminum ones. But I bought this 100 bucks.
It's got some damage. I'm not going to build a car out of it, but you know what would be really cool to build out of it?
How about some yard art? Build a fad style T frame. Put like a junk small block in it. Tunnel ram. I got some rusty chrome wheels. Basically build like a little fad T. I think I'm going to take the turtle deck and sell that. I can get my money back just out of the turtle deck cuz that's in decent shape.
It's not junk. The body is pretty hammered. So just glass this back up real fast. Scuff it and rattle can it.
I'll build some kind of frame. drop a junk motor in it, wheels, tires, stance it out, and uh make a little yard art display out of it. That'll be a fun video.
And I think that was that'd be cool.
We're going to get a whole 23T bucket or whatever it is. 267T body for 100 bucks.
You're not going to, but we made a mistake of taking a truck and had to drag home truck size stuff. What are we doing now? I'm going to put you on some time lapse cuz I got to help Ted put some brakes on his camper.
went to etra.com and bought some new backing plates and uh electric brakes.
If you want to see in depth putting electric brakes on a trailer, I have a video uh I put them on my thing on my uh little enclosed trailer. The same idea, but basically they're four bolts and two wires and left hand. Here we go.
Basically, you bolt them right on. They use this electric magnet for the braking onto the drums. And uh his his are worn out. So I forget what he paid for these in each trailer. They're probably less than 200 bucks for all four of them. So it's cheaper just to swap them all on.
So on the time lapse, we're going to pull the wheels, pull the drums and the bearings, pull the drums off, which will take the hubs off. We'll just unbolt the backing plates, slam the new ones on, reconnect the wires, and he'll have brand new brakes all the way around on his uh his little home away from home.
The Hornet by Damon Corp right there.
Best thing I ever bought, right, Ted?
>> What's that?
>> This camper.
>> Yep.
>> Best thing I ever bought.
>> Why are you dressed up like you're going to town with Fred? It's like 80° out.
>> This is just pop these off.
>> Pop them caps. Let's go. I'm going to put up on time lapse and what you living out here in this mat. What is this?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> There you go. Pop them caps.
>> Let's take one off to see if it fits.
>> All right, we're going to go on time lapse and uh see if we can put the brakes on this trailer.
Heat. Heat.
Down down down down down down.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat up here.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
There we got all the brakes set. Uh, none of those brakes are going to work.
But this thing was only stopping on the left rear wheel. The wires were damaged for the front brakes. So, the front axle wasn't working at all. So, I fixed that.
So, we got front axle brakes now. I adjusted all the shoes that left the left rear cuz it was stopping was adjusted up tight. The other three were like 100 times loose.
So, I uh adjusted them all up here. The thing should like rip the hitch off the back of the truck. Now, got to back the B brake trailer controller down. We're going to just go out and drive it and see how it drives.
Now it should stop. Like I never driven a big Superduty truck before. Look at this. Ted, hold the camera. Hold the camera, Ted. We're filming.
We're going to try it now.
>> It's looking at you. Where's your brake controller? Show me the brake controller.
>> That's all you got. It's right there.
>> Where you set the gain and stuff? No, >> it's not on this cross traffic. All right, hold on.
>> First of all, are you in trailer mode?
>> Trailer connected. Here. Give me that trailer connected. Cross traffic alert.
I don't know what that means. Let me uh >> Should be on four.
>> I'm going to turn this. Yeah, you got it all the way up.
>> Oh, I used it.
>> Yeah, you got it all the way up. Let's start at one because this thing's going to rip the It's going to rip the hitch off the truck.
>> So, we took the gain back down to like one.
Let's uh pull ahead a little bit.
>> Oh my god.
>> Oh, it's got awesome brakes already.
Go slow.
>> Let's uh cuz Yeah. So, you only had one wheel of brakes, so you had to gain all the way up. So, it was barely stopping.
>> Now, it's going to like rip the hitch right off the truck.
>> We got a truck coming. We're just going around the block. We'll try it. I know.
We're doing it. I need to get a Superduke. Where's my Superduty?
>> Look at this. Got an extra compartment.
>> All right. Here we go. I'm pulling out short. Stop messing around.
>> Look at that. A special compartment.
>> Here. It's come out slow. We torqued all the wheels and you greased all the outer bearings.
Okay.
And they go here easily.
You might want to wear the shoes in a little bit, but let me see if they behind us. Okay, I'm going to hit the brakes.
>> Oh, that's nice.
That's nice.
>> Okay. Actually, I'm going to use the trailer brakes here, which I can do by hand.
>> Oh, don't do it that way.
>> No, it's I'm going to test it to see how much it's pulling. Let me get up to speed a little bit. Okay, sir.
>> To get up to like 3540, and then I'm going to use the trailer brakes and dial them in. Let's see here how we do.
Okay, let me kick up the game a little bit. Let's go to two and see how that works.
I should want to slow it down.
Doesn't It's got like a delay. Is your connector uh >> this end's on?
>> It's up to three.
I hear it dragging.
Oh. Oh, got a car coming.
>> Yeah, it seemed like it would want to rip the hitch off the truck with the the brakes against it.
>> It's fine. Just get her to stop is all I want. Make her stop. That's better.
That's better.
>> Oh, that's that's that's all truck brake.
>> Oh, no.
>> I can hear the front wheels.
I should be able to feel something like I put the brakes on right now. I don't feel.
Let me take it. What's What's the max?
Four.
>> Oh, no. There we go. Oops. Five.
>> Oh, there we go. That's really okay. I'm feeling it now.
>> Okay, there's five.
Oh, we got some geese. Watch out, geese.
>> Those are babies.
>> There's no babies. There they coming out the road.
>> Oh, you got to wait. Look at You're testing my brakes. Look at these mammals.
>> Careful, bro. Show them.
>> Oh my god. I got to show the birds. Are you serious? What are you? What are you?
Nature lover here.
>> Nature lover. All right. So, now we're up on five. I can definitely feel Let's get up to speed a little bit.
>> Cross traffic alert. Trailer attached.
Okay. Now, let me get up to speed a little bit. Am I going to Okay, it's definitely It's pulling the truck down now.
Yeah. Okay. So, that's five. Let's back her down to like four and a half on the gain. Let's try it again. Okay, that's that's the trailer brakes are definitely working out. Oops.
Let me get her some heat and then we're going to go.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Oh Jesus.
>> It's It's definitely pulling the thing down.
>> What's it say on the dash then?
>> Cross traffic alert something.
>> Okay. it. So, the all these drums are >> working.
>> You might have to back this off later because all these drums were way out of whack and they had a lot of rust in them. So, the brakes might come alive and work even better. If it starts skidding the tires, you're going to have to back the gain off.
>> Okay.
>> Cuz right now, I'm just using the trailer to stop the truck right now.
>> So, to to back it is to go to >> the old up and down arrow here.
>> Which way? Five is going to back it, right?
>> No, down. Right now, it's a four and a half.
>> Okay. So, I back it to like three.
>> Oh, no. Go down one click. Right now it's at five.
And I'm going to leave it at four and a half.
>> I was at four before. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> With no brakes. With no brakes.
>> Yeah. The the brakes weren't The brakes weren't doing anything before.
>> Virtually no brakes.
>> Let me get her up to speed a little bit.
Here. Look at me.
>> I'm looking here in there. Good looking.
Let's go.
>> I'm going to get up to speed a little bit and then I got >> I'm going to ride the brakes on the trailer a little bit. Try to get some of the roof off.
>> We're going to sell this video to RV trailer.
RV trailer.
>> Yeah, they're definitely working. I can feel it slowing the truck down.
>> You got to circle around. You're go around the block.
>> I'm going to go around the block.
>> Oh my god.
>> Look at that tractor.
>> Yeah. So, it's definitely pulling. See how fast it's stopping?
>> Just hit a stone. I heard >> Listen to me. See how fast it's feels great.
>> Feels great. I heard you pop a a walnut.
>> Yeah, it's a stone. So, if it if you're if you're towing it and all a sudden you hear the tires squealing, I I'll know the gain off.
>> I'll know it.
back the key.
>> He likes driving my truck, but he can't have the keys. He likes it.
>> I've never had a big dog like this.
Where's my big dog? Oh, I got traffic.
>> Look at that. Going down the road. What a nice day.
>> Pulled right out in front of that guy.
We're going.
>> Stop whistling.
>> Is your door shut on your camper? I hope so.
>> Better be.
>> All right, we're getting up to highway speed now.
ramming speed.
Let's see how it stops at speed. Oh, see it feels good. Does it feel good to you?
Sensation wise, >> feels good. Now, listen. When you put that in the trailer mode, it catches your brakes immediately.
>> Yeah, I can feel them.
>> Got to be in trailer mode.
>> I can feel them pulling.
>> Sweet corn's out. Not yet. Okay, get it.
We we'll put our hand on the hub when we get back to see if any of the drums are dragging.
>> Oh my god.
>> The drums had some rust in them. So, they're they're out of round when the rust. So, they're going to wear in a little bit driving this.
And I'm not a trailer expert, but I'm going to play one on TV. But it seems to the brakes are definitely working. It's pulling straight. It ain't pulling all crooked.
So, I think we're all right.
I like it. Seems to >> It's a bouncy ride. It's a big truck.
Get a lot of bounces. It seems to stop it pretty good. I'm going to hit them again by hand. Oh yeah, I feel them.
They're working. They're working.
>> Four and a half. Leave it at four and a half.
>> Leave it at four and a half. If they wear in and they start >> grabbing.
>> Grabbing. You can back it off, but seems to be all right. We're not in trailer mode.
>> I was in it.
>> Tow hall. There we go. Now do something.
Hit the brake again.
>> I want to just wind this thing out.
I like it. Oh.
>> Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Then they really kick on. Yeah. You're good now, bro.
It's good now, bro.
What a nice day, huh?
What a nice day. Look at that sky.
>> It's working good.
Very good. Look at that. Look at that.
Oh yeah. Hop in.
It's working.
>> Yeah.
Ah, I think I should film your yard.
>> I'm trying the brakes.
They're working on stucking the thing down.
>> Loop this back around your front yard so I can pull out.
>> I got to have a drink of water and celebrate.
>> This thing stops good.
>> You did great.
>> Does it feel like it stops good?
>> Yep. And then we got enough life for you think five more years. At least three.
>> Yeah. The shoes I mean the amount that you trail you pull this thing the shoes it should last another couple years.
>> Uh was this thing missing when you get on it?
>> Or was it truck's not missing? Got 35,000 miles on it. My Mustang's missing.
>> It just didn't downshift all the way. It tried to take it off in second for some reason. I don't know why. Oh, what happened to your film? It just shut off.
>> No, that's all right.
>> Oh, cool.
I just can't see it. Why can't I see it in this beautiful?
>> Cuz it turns off.
>> Wait, hold on.
>> Yeah, these brakes are working good.
>> Okay, >> hold on. I'm looping.
>> Oh, no. You're going in that way.
>> Oh, no.
>> Going around the other way.
>> Then I think I can get around there.
>> Oh, I'm going to have to loop all the way around.
>> I'm in.
>> Oh, no. You're going to have to move your van so I can pull out. Oh my god.
So slow. I leave my trailer.
>> Oh, there's a bunny.
>> Where are you going to go?
>> I'm going to look right around a circle.
>> What are you doing? Oh, so I can pull out straight. Oh, you're smart.
>> I can't. Am I filming still? I love it.
I love it. I like to see what I'm doing.
>> Look at all his stuff.
>> Look at all your cool stuff, man. What a day. Beautiful day.
>> Okay.
All right. Put this thing on hold.
I think it's good.
>> I think it works good. Let me uh feel the hubs. See if they're Yeah, they're the drums are a little warm, but they're they're dragging a little bit cuz they're going to have to wear through some of that rust. Do they get warm at all? Do any tow it? Do you know?
You >> all right?
>> Yeah. The drums a little warm, but we don't been doing heavy braking.
>> I mean, they're they spun real easy.
They should none of them dragged real hard.
>> No, you'd hear it.
>> Yeah, I think it's all right. It stops a lot better than it did.
Did they >> They almost locked up on the grass here a little bit, but the grass is super wet. They didn't really slide. So, they're not They're not out of control.
They're They're just enough. Oops.
They're just enough.
Okay.
>> All right. So, that's going to conclude the festivities for this weekend. Uh Carile swap meets parts fixing trailers and Oh, we got some more nuts over here.
Your nuts are everywhere.
>> Get the nuts on there. Your nuts are free.
>> I had four. Now we only got two left.
>> There's two here. There's two here on the ground. You're nuts.
>> I probably four and four on each wheel.
>> So, we're going to shut her down for now. This is kind of a hodge podge nonsense. Freaking >> Yep. Operating, buying parts, running them in the excavator, going to Carile, fixing trailers.
We're back on the road, but I got to get back in the shop there and work on stuff. We'll see you guys next time.
