[00:00:10]Complaint filed against top Bengal [music] actors. Complaint against actors Parambrata and Swastika. The charge being Bengal actors online post is what incited violence. Online post was abetted and it instigated violence.

[00:00:26][music] The actor posted, "Declare today world trashing day." Swastika endorsed it and said, "Let it happen." 2021, after the post, the violence erupted in West Bengal. These are big claims coming in, [music] viewers. Again, uh popular actors Parambrata Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee There were posts made by both actors that's now come under the scanner with regards to the violent episode that had panned [music] out in 2021.

[00:00:59]That is during the post-poll period because there was a certain post made by actor Parambrata Chatterjee who came out to then say that let's declare this world trashing day. Swastika had endorsed that very post and that is what has now been brought under the scanner by investigators. Anirban Sinha joining me on the broadcast with more details on the same. [00:01:25]This is very big what's coming in given that both actors are quite popular, not just in West [music] Bengal but even in the Indian cinema world. And there was a certain post that was made by Parambrata Chatterjee after the uh after the polls had taken place in the very state in 2021, which is now being brought under scanner and being said that that is what incited the very provoked the very violent episode. What are you learning?

Uh The complaint that identified as Joydeep Shen has requested the resignation registration of an FIR against the duo accusing them of abetting and instigating the large scale of people during the post poll violence that erupted in West Bengal in May 21. The complaint highlights a tweet posted by Parambrata Chatterjee and which read that "Aaj means let today be declared all trashing or rubbing day." And after right after that actress Swastika Mukherjee has replied to that tweet that "Let it be."

[00:02:40]So, the complaint argues that these statements coming from that influential public figures on the face of it appear to abate, encourage, incite, and instigate large scale of violence at a highly sensitive time. And that right after the defeat of Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal in 2021. So, right now the letter also alleges that on after 2021 onwards organized large scale violence against BJP workers was unleashed and we have seen lots of murders, lots of physical assault, sexual molestation, arson, and extortion. So, right now what we can learn is Joydeep Shen has filed a complaint and he asked for a FIR and also he said that he will go to the court against these two actors. And from the last few years what we have seen Parambrata Chattopadhyay was associated in the various programs of Mamata Banerjee and the West Bengal government as well. So, right now what we have learned is Joydeep Shen has requested the registration of an FIR against these two accusing them to instigate during the 2021 post poll violence.
