And what I understand is that um we will see you know every day between now and Wednesday uh this system um that is going to come and knocking at our door right so you know I just want you know you all and and not only I think it's coming from Florida it's coming from Florida uh and going towards Texas so usually only usually uh yeah that's that's some of the ways it goes but anyway uh we are prepared to uh rather we are going to stay here or we're going to leave my son is in charge of that part of um of what we do when a hurricane uh shows up right so I will definitely let you all know what we going to do here in my area, right? [00:20:44]But before I get into the main topic, I want us I want to I want you all to share with me of your garden. And I want to just give you all some advice really about growing your garden in this weather, right?

[00:21:06]We all want to grow our food. We all know why we want to grow our food, right? Our food is not being respected at all.

[00:21:20]Just before I came live, there were more and more recall videos on uh foods coming from the big stores that many of us shop at.

[00:21:31]This is my thing.

[00:21:35]When these companies find out like they found out a source of where the lettuce is coming from, what are the repercussions of these people, we don't hear about did they get fined or what did what happened to them because they made all these people sick. So, one of the things they tell you if you did purchase tainted lististeria infested food, they tell you throw it away. Well, if you throw it away, you're throwing away your evidence that you have purchased this stuff. But no one no one is taking accountability for them selling us this food.

[00:22:23]What happens when a company sells tainted food to the public and so many people get sick?

So if you wasn't here last night, this is what the whole thing about sunflowers and why I shared the sunflowers. So here we go. All right. So the first thing I suggest to many of us that if you are living in your forever home or wherever you live and you are if you are planting food that you are going to eat in the ground.

[00:24:26]What was right there where your house is today? What was there 30 years ago, 50 years ago? What was there?

[00:24:36]And if there were a um a commercial farm there, right, if they dropped chemicals there, if if there was some kind of chemical plant there, those chemicals is still in the soil.

[00:24:58]It's still there. And with that, let me share with you some things that a sunflower does.

[00:25:08]A sunflower pull heavy metals from the soil.

[00:25:17]That's what she does here. After Katrina, you all know the city flooded.

[00:25:23]They had it wasn't only just the Mississippi River water running through New Orleans. There were sewer. There were chemicals. There were just alligators and everything else running through the city.

[00:25:39]Many and please, as I said, last please research what I'm saying. and they had people drop sunflowers all over the city and the metropolitan area in New Orleans. It was a study being done by Twolane University as well as LSU.

[00:26:00]Research me, okay? And what the sunflowers does, they pull up heavy toxin, nickel, cadium, um just all kinds of heavy metals. they automatically pulls it out. So with that I suggest this is my suggestion that if you are growing sunflowers do not use sunflowers in your compost.

[00:26:34]Because not only does it pulls up toxin in their roots, but it also pulls up toxin in their leaves and the stems. All of that. All of it.

Now, this is the most important reason why I shared that and I want you all to do the research.

[00:27:59]Y'all hear me? Not only sunfl and many plants that all of us grow right now coming up in this fall, all of us grow this this plant and this plant that we all grow. Guess what this plant does? It pulls up toxin from the soil.

[00:28:27]Now, this is what I want you to know about the mustard greens pulling up toxin.

[00:28:33]We eat the leaves.

[00:28:35]Come on, y'all. We eat the leaves. So, it pulling up all these bad toxin and we going to eat those leaves. This is why it's so important that we know the history of it. So if you don't know the history, this is what you can do to protect yourself and your family, right?

[00:29:01]I also gave information about compost and top soils and I shared names that you should look at and many companies today they don't and I I'm going say this a little curse word. It's a little curse word. Okay.

So this is why a lot of the things when I find out things like the sunflower seed and how it pulls up toxin and even veggie farming cuz we were talking about it and I was telling them do your research on this. She was researching as we were online and she was like Miss Linda the moringa tree does the same thing. It pulls up all these toxins. So I'm like wow we really got to do a lot of research on that. We really do, you know.

I don't believe that they will fall off. I I'm serious. But I'm going to do an extensive harvest of figs and I'mma take my little Miwa kumquat tree and I'mma put her in the uh garage. Uh but other than that, nothing else. Um I do have some big cans out there. Uh one for water, one for trash, and I'm going to um I'm going to fill the wa one of them with water up to make sure that it stays put hopefully. And the one that was with trash, I'mma put her into the um um the plantain trees. I'mma put her in there so she won't move hopefully. All right.

[01:14:58]Um, broad beans remove heavy metals and store them in the roots. So, you can still harvest the beans and dispose of the plant. And that is great. And that was the most important thing I wanted people to know about the sunflower. And that is great to know about the broad beans, too. is that fava beans is that you can harvest these beans but do not compost the plant. I know a lot of people today is using everything from their garden to compost with and I have a compost pile but there are some plants we don't want to compost and those plants that take up these heavy metals that is one those the plants that we don't want to compost we don't want to put them in our compost pile.
