>> The 4th of July is the United States of America's birthday. On July 4th, 2026, the United States of America turns 250 years old. That's old.
Actually, Dizzy, America is kind of a young country. How old do you think France is?
>> Uh, 255 years old.
>> It's over a,000 years old.
>> Now, that's old.
>> How old do you think the Earth is, Tizzy? M really really old.
>> It's almost 4 and 12 billion years old.
Wa. [laughter] >> How old are you? Are you older than the Earth?
>> Oh, [laughter] hey Dizzy. We should sing our birthday song.
>> I mean, it is America's birthday. Let's do it.
Happy [music] birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
Today is your birthday. Happy birthday to you.
Happy [music] birthday from all of us to you.
Let's all dance and eat some cake in the [singing and music] land of Kru.
The birthday bird is flying in to [music] celebrate with you.

>> And give a [music] big yahoo.
And shout to the skies. Happy birthday to you. [music] >> Happy birthday to you.
>> Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday [singing] my dear friend. Happy birthday to you.
>> What else should we do to celebrate the 4th of July? Tizzy.
>> H people celebrate with music, food, and fun. You might have a picnic with your family or go to a parade or watch a fireworks show at night.
>> OH, I LOVE FIREWORKS.
>> Before we watch the fireworks show, all of our Dr. Seuss friends will be marching in the Fourth of July parade.
Will you march with us?
>> Oh, we need to bring a flag.
>> Yeah, let's go get one.
>> Whoa, there it is.
>> We found it.
Ziggy, did you know that there are 13 stripes on the flag? That's because before the United States became a country, it was made up of 13 colonies or places that were ruled by people in another country.
>> Wa. And there are 50 stars on the flag.
There is one star for every state.
>> Can you name every state, Ziggy? Oh. Uh, New York, Cal, California, Texas, uh, I know a great song to help you remember.
>> Me, too.
>> Whoa. Hi, Cat in the Hat.
>> Aw, hi little cat. Singing a song is a great way to learn and remember new things.
>> Are you ready to sing the 50 United [music] States?
>> I am. I am. I was asking them.
>> We're ready to sing.
>> Let's go.
Sing the 50 United States by Dr. Seuss.
To sing the 50 United States, you have to use your brain.
Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri and Montana is Mississippi, Maryland, Michigan and Maine [music] to sing the 50 United States is a big job for the mouth.
Virginia, West Virginia. Don't forget the two Dakotas and a couple Carolas, which are likewise. [music and singing] North and South and and >> Idaho.
[singing] >> Yes. Idaho and Ohio. Come on, let's go.
New Jersey, [singing] New York, New Hampshire, and [singing] New Mexico.
Phew. To sing the 50. United States takes brains. It does indeed. [music] We're only up to 20. And it's 30 more we need.
>> May I bring up Nebraska?
>> Yeah. And how about Alaska? And those two that begin with T.
T. Texas, Tennessee, you're up to 24 now.
>> You might make it if you're lucky. Rhode Island, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Kentucky, Iowa, [music and singing] Georgia, Florida and Delaware, Alabama, [music and singing] Arkansas, Arizona.
>> And where do you go from there?
>> Illinois.
>> Oh boy. To sing the 50 United States, you mustn't get in our >> California, [music] Colorado, and Connecticut.
>> Vermont, Indiana, Utah, Louisiana, >> Wyoming, Wisconsin, Washington, and Nevada, and Hawaii. And that's 50.
And we're done.
Sorry, that's only 49. You must have boo booed one.
>> Oh no.
Oh, [laughter] [singing] >> we can sing the 50 United States. We told you from [music] the start to sing the 50 United States. You sing them from your heart.
>> Wow, that really helped. Cat in the hat.
>> So now when you look at the flag, you know what each star represents.
Wait. 47 48 49 [gasps] One star is missing.
>> We can't march in the Fourth OF JULY PARADE WITHOUT ALL THE STARS.
>> Can you help us find it?
>> Oh, I'm so glad you're here. We need help filling in our map of the 50 United States.
>> We also need your help. One of the stars from our flag is missing. Each star on the flag represents one state. So maybe if we put the map together, we can figure out which state you're missing.
Let's do it.
>> Where does the state of California go?
>> I know California is on the west coast.
I think California fits right here.
>> Yeah. Did you know the state of California is home to some of the tallest trees in the world? You can find them in Redwood National Park. Now, where does New York go? H think, Tizzy, think. I know it's cold in New York in winters, so I think it would be close to the top of the country. What do you think?
>> I think New York goes up there. Great job.
>> Yes.
>> New York State is home to the largest city in the United States, New York City. Over 8 million people live there.
>> Wo!
>> There's one state left. Where does Texas go?
Texas has a really unique shape. And I'm pretty sure it's at the bottom of the country. I think it goes right there.
Yes, >> Texas is the biggest state in the lower 48 states. YEEHAW. [screaming] >> But did you know Alaska is actually the largest state in the USA?
>> Wa! I didn't know that.
>> Cat in the hat. We only have 49 states.
One is missing.
>> Oh no. Which state is missing?
>> Oh. Oh. Oh, say it with us.
>> Oklahoma, >> our missing star, our missing state.
>> All along we needed Oklahoma on our flag.
>> All right.
Now, our flag is complete >> and we can march in the Fourth of July parade. HOORAY FOR THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE.
>> OH, hello Thing One and Thing Two. Do you like red, white, and blue things, too?
>> Oh, you have a story about them, and you want to tell us? [laughter] >> Let's hear it.
>> Red, white, and blue things.
One thing, two things.
Red, [music] white, and blue things.
Things wave flags at a parade.
Things sell cups of lemonade.
Things ride bikes this way. Thing, too.
things. Eat lunch at a barbecue.
Corn on the cob is messy but fun.
Burgers and hot dogs for everyone.
After lunch, a juicy treat.
A walk in the grass feels good on thing feet.
Evening comes. Fireflies take flight.
Then suddenly, whoosh, the sky turns bright.
Sleepy things. It's been a long day spent with family and friends, good food, fun, and play.
Hi friends. Did you know that many countries pick an animal or a symbol to represent them? For example, in New Zealand, they picked the kiwi bird to be their national bird.
Can you guess which bird the USA picked?
Hm. It's not a tiny bird like the teeniest bird in the world, the bee hummingbird. It's the big, proud, bald eagle.
Let's pretend to be an eagle.
Flap your wings with me.
Okay, flap harder. We're about to take off now. Soar like an eagle with me. Like this. Let's flap to the right.
Now, let's soar to the left. Whoa.
[screaming] Sometimes bald eagles migrate or fly to a different place when it gets too cold or there isn't enough to eat.
>> [panting] >> Male bald eagles don't sing like a lot of other birds like whooping cranes when they want to impress a female bald eagle. They do a big fast dive in the air. Do you want to dive with me? Yeah.
Okay, let's go.
[screaming] Now, let's flap our wings.
Flap them hard like this. Now slow down our flapping. Flap. Flap.
Are you ready to land? Oh, I see our nest down there.
Did you know mama birds sit on their eggs in a nest?
Gently, let's come to a landing. We don't want to hurt the egg in our nest.
[sighs] Great flying.
[music] >> I'm the cat and the hat and my quiz is sky high. It's all about creatures who chirp, flap, and fly. That's right.
Birds, our fine feathered friends. Make sure to keep score till we soar to the end.
Question one. What does a mommy bird sit on in her nest? Where does the baby bird grow? Can you guess?
A leaf, B egg, C chrysalis, or D ball.
I think you know this. B, an egg.
Do you see what I see in that mama bird's nest? The babies are hatching their very first quest. With a tap from their beak, they break out of their shell. New life has begun. And I do wish them well.
Can you chirp like a baby bird? You can.
Okay, let's try it. Let me hear you.
Twet tweet. Yes. Again. Twet tweet.
Louder now. Louder. Twet tw. Okay. All right. Okay. PLEASE. HEY, THAT'S ENOUGH.
YOU SILLY SQUAWKERS. My goodness.
Question two. Birds can be big and birds can be small. The biggest, the ostrich, stands 9 ft tall. But which bird is so tiny you struggle to see that it's 2 in long? Now, who could that be?
A owl, B chickdy, C baby bird, >> or D B hummingbird.
H D a be hummingbird.
The bee hummingbird is very small. The tiniest bird you'll ever recall. Did you know hummingbirds can zoom backwards and flip? Oh, what a trick for a bird on a trip.
Question three. Which flightless bird has acquired its fame from a popular fruit that appears in its name? A kiwi bird, B. Strawberry bird, C banana bird, or D. Applebird.
Hm. What could it be?
A a kiwi bird.
The kiwi bird is a curious sight with feathers like fur and no wings for flight. It pokes through the ground with a long thin beak. For bugs and for worms, it's a feast that they seek.
Question four. What does a whooping crane do when he's looking for love?
Does he chirp on the ground or sing up above? Does he fluff up his feathers or show off his flight? How does he say you're my delight?
A fly in circles. B courtship dance.
C text a heart emoji or D sing a song.
Time's almost up. B. A courtship dance.
Courtship dances might look like a silly wiggly prance, but for love birds, it's a [music] sweet romance. Now get up on your feet. It's time to see your best bird dance. Go crazy. Fly free.
Woo!
Oh yes. You're a great dancer.
Question five. When winter approaches and chilly winds blow, what do the birds do? Anyone know? A shiver.
By a winter coat, C migrate south, or D, hibernate.
The answer is C, migrate south.
Geese fly south in these. It's a sight to behold. They save up their energy and fend off the cold. Wait, wait for me.
Question six.
What bird soarses through the sky a grand regal sight with feathers of brown and a head snowy white? A. Bald eagle.
B. Parakeet, C, King Bird, or D. Heron.
Did you figure it out yet? A, a bald eagle.
The national bird of the USA. They're a symbol of freedom by night and by day.
We've flown through this quiz. It's been such fun. Now, tally your scores. Let's see how you've done.
Did you get one to three, you little chickity?
Four, five. You're a mighty hawk. Take a dive.
All six. Wow, you've got this flock on lock.
Birds bring us songs with a tweet and a cheer. They brighten our mornings and make joy appear. They swoop through the sky with a flutter and flap. They're nature's true wonders. And that's a fact. With colors so bright and feathers so neat, they help our whole world stay lively and sweet. So, let's give a cheer for our bird friends so dear [cheering] for all that they bring year after year.
>> We still have some time before the parade starts. Do you want to play a game with me? Yeah, I do.
>> Follow me.
>> Welcome to the Imaginarium, where anything is possible if you can dream it up.
>> It's so cool in here. So, if I think important, hula hooping while balancing on a ball.
>> Wa!
You really can't imagine anything in here.
>> Let's make up our own flag together.
>> Oh, I love that idea. First, let's pick a shape we want on our flag.
>> H. What about a diamond or a circle?
>> Well, we do live in the circle time house. Let's make it a circle.
>> What color should we pick?
>> I think half of the flag should be purple with pink polka dots.
>> Oh, I like that. I think half of the flag should be blue and red squiggles.
Oh, I like that too, Ziggy. Let's pick a symbol. Something that represents the circle time house.
>> I feel like our flag should be fun >> and welcoming.
>> H. What would be good for that?
>> I know someone kind, fun, and welcoming.
The cat in the hat. Why don't we put his hat in the middle of our flag?
>> I love that idea.
And then on my side, I want to put a book because I love reading.
>> Oh, that's good. That's good. And I I'll put a wrench on my side because I love inventing.
>> Smart, ZIGGY.
>> I hereby DECLARE THIS FLAG THE OFFICIAL FLAG of Circle Time.
[screaming] [laughter] >> Thanks for imagining with us.
>> You helped us make a fantastic flag.
I love having a picnic on the 4th of July.
>> There's so much great food.
>> I like to have hot dogs or hamburgers.
>> Oh, that sounds really good.
>> Or watermelon or corn ON THE COB.
>> OH, WITH BUTTER. OH, that sounds really good.
>> Wow, you must be hungry. I can hear your tummy. [laughter] >> I am so hungry.
>> How hungry?
Hungry, hungry, I am hungry. Table table, here [music] I come. I could eat a mocha pokea burger, 15 [music] pickles, and a purple [singing] plum.
Oh, the things that I could eat.
>> I could eat three bowls of cereal, half a pound of creamy cream [music] of wheat. I could eat a bunch of bouncing broccoli. Then I'd really get to work and eat [music] the stuff that I could eat.
H spaghetti, super squishy, squashy, sloppy joe, French fries, [music] hash browns, a sausage link, lamb chops, lollipops, huckleberry, [music] lemon drops. Wash it down with a juicy drink.
Oh, the things that I could eat.
A piping hot pepperoni pineapple [music] pizza. Colorful carrots and a cantaloupe too. Peanut butter jelly and a chicken pot pie. Lean green string beans bubbling stew. Oh, the stuff that I could eat.
Purple spinach. Grilled cheese sandwich.
Finish with [music] the bowl of steamy mac and cheese. Hungry. Hungry. I am starving. May I eat now? Yes and please.
Oh, the things that I [music] could eat.
>> Chomp time.
>> Wa! Chomp chomp [music] chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp [music] chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp [music] chomp chomp chomp chomp the things [music] that I could eat.
>> Are you ready for the Fourth of July parade?
Can you march like this?
Right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot.
>> Great job.
>> Now raise your opposite arm and your opposite foot.
>> March. March. March.
>> Great work. You are ready to join the parade.
>> Let's go.
>> You're a grand flag. You're a highf flying flag and forever in peace may you wave.
>> You're the emblem of the land [music] I love. The home of the free and the brave.
Every heart beats true [music and singing] for the red, white, and blue. Where there's never a boast or a brag. But should all [music] acquaintance be forgot? Keep your eye [singing] on the grand old flag.
Wow, look at the flag. It's so big and [music] majestic. I love how the flag makes waves. What makes the flag swish and swirl like that?
>> The wind. I have an idea. Let's see if we can make waves like the flags do.
>> Okay, ready? Light breeze.
No wind freeze.
[music] Medium wind.
No wind freeze.
[music] Hurricane wind.
[music] No wind freeze.
Okay, let's do all three. Ready?
Light breeze.
>> [music] >> Now medium wind.
And now hurricane winds.
Whoa.
No wind freeze.
Uh-oh. Do you SEE WHAT I SEE? TORNADO.
[music] [screaming] I am the tornado.
Tornado.
[music] No wind freeze.
Flies go through a lot, don't they?
Thanks, flag.
>> Let's meet back up with the parade.
You're a grand old flag. You're a high-flying flag. And forever in peace may you live. [music] You're the emblem of the land I love.
The home of the free and [singing] the brave.
Every heart beats true for the red, white, and blue. Where there's never a post or [music and singing] a bra.
What should all acquaintance be forgot?
Keep your eye on the grand flag. [music] >> Happy 4th of July.
>> The fireworks show is about to start.
>> Let's see how many fireworks we can count together.
>> Wa!
>> One firework.
>> Two fireworks.
>> Another one. That's three fireworks total.
>> Four.
Five.
6 7 8 9 >> 10 10 FIREWORKS TOTAL.
>> WA! [screaming] >> OH WOW, that was such a great show.
>> Thanks for counting with us.
Hey, did you enjoy the fireworks show? I thought we could end our Fourth of July by doing a fun fireworks stretch. Would you like to stretch with me?
Great. Let's start down low.
Slowly bend all the way down to the floor and squeeze yourself into a tiny little ball just like this. Try to get as little and teeny tiny as you can.
Squeeze your arms around your knees and get ready to explode. Are you ready?
Three, two, one, go. AND EXPLODE. YES.
Stretch your arms and legs out as far as you can. You're a big firework now.
[laughter] Wiggle your firework arms and legs.
You're high in the sky. Yeah. Now, let's gently go back into being a little ball.
Bend your knees. Bring your arms back down to [music] the ground. And pause at the bottom. See, we're in a little ball now. Ready? Squeeze your arms around your knees. Are you ready to be a firework again? Okay. [clears throat] Three, two, one, GO.
I'm a firework now. If I were a firework, I would be a green firework. I like the color green. What color firework would you be? Now, let's curl into a little ball one more time.
Squeeze your arms at the bottom.
Squeeze. Squeeze. Squeeze. Now, this firework will be the biggest firework yet. Are you ready? Three, two, one, go.
WHOA. [screaming] YES. I'M THE biggest firework yet. Make this firework your biggest one. Do a firework dance with me.
[laughter] Great work. That was a big firework.
Now, let's take a deep breath together.
Nice. Thanks for fireworks stretching with me.
>> Thank you so much for celebrating the 4th of July with us.
[music] >> Well, you're off to great places.
[snorts] Today is your day. [music] Your mountaintop [singing] is waiting.
So go on, get on your way.
The more that you [singing] read, the more things you will know, the more [singing] that you learn, the [music] more places you [singing] will go.
Goodbye [singing] dear friends.
So long farewell friends.
>> See [singing] you the next time when we meet again. [singing and music] >> See you next time.
>> Bye friends.
