The analysis correctly identifies the rising strategic autonomy of middle powers, though it tends to over-sensationalize pragmatic decoupling as a total collapse of hegemony. It offers a compelling look at the transition toward multipolarity while occasionally prioritizing geopolitical drama over structural complexity.

The American Illusion Just Broke In Barcelona: Spain and Latin America Rise-UpAdded:
The United States at this point is completely alone. It's pushed away every ally that it has besides one very special subsidized ally. And American politicians look at the world map, look at the global map like it's a giant game of risk and they have all the nations on their side at the start of the game. But what we're realizing is that that's not the case. That you actually have to ask permission when you want to park your war machine on somebody else's driveway.
What's happening in Barcelona right now is something that's being completely ignored by the mainstream media and mostly because it's in Spanish, which is just disgusting. But it is a summit that's happening that's heavily weighted towards the global south, specifically Latin America. Now, when Americans think of Latin America, they just think of nice beaches, cartels, tacos, and and coconut drinks with little umbrellas.
But in reality, the United States is completely dependent on Latin America.
We ignore the things that they produce, the things that come into our country, the things that we are actually relying on because like I said again and again and again, we exist in a globalized ecosystem and America can't go it alone.
That's why even with today Donald Trump going off of the narrative that we have all these tankers that are coming to the United States that we're going to fill up when we don't even have the ability to do that. We have to shatter our conception of what is the American illusion and see how the pieces on the border are actually being moved because the macroeconomic and geopolitical shifts that are happening are going to have a a grave consequence to the United States. In reality, Latin America looks up at North America not as a trustworthy actor and they haven't for a long time.
Nor should they. What have we done to Central and South America? that's been for the good of the populations in living history. What have we done? But I think it's all beginning to coalesce into a grand movement as we see agreements happening between Spain and Brazil. When we see broken diplomatic relationships between Spain and Mexico healed again, these relations are being built into something bigger. A defiant wall, a wall of defiance meant to stand up against the tyranny of one deranged sadist who is running rough shot over an entire superpower right now. Sadly, now the problem that the US has with Spain began at the beginning of the illegal operation going on in Iran when Spain said, "No, you cannot use Naval Station Roa, our deepwater port for your carrier strike groups. You cannot use Marone air base to conduct military operations in Iran and blow up schools there. You cannot do that. You cannot use our airspace." And in response, what did President Trump do?
You have to remember he threatened to try to annihilate their entire economy by tariffing them to death by by cutting off all trade with them because that's the consequence of saying no. That's a consequence of taking a moral stance against a tyrant and the world sees that and that's why there's international support coming towards Spain. I really can't put enough emphasis on the impact that Mark Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum has had as far as the relations of middle powers around the world actually goes. Now, at this summit in Barcelona, what you had was Spain and Brazil signed 15 different agreements that are essentially going to bypass the traditional reliance on the United States. And it's not just a plan to sustain the here and now, the economy of right now, but the future itself. If we're talking about telecommunications, artificial intelligence, the exploitation of critical minerals and rare earths that are needed for tech manufacturing, this is really where we're starting to see the BRICS nations come out as they gain more leverage in more power against the traditional American hegemonic brutalistic policies that the world has been suffering into. In America, we demonize bricks because it has China in it. Honestly, it has China. It has Russia in it. is Brazil in it. And everyone was surprised by that because no one in America actually knows anything about Brazil. In fact, I think as far as their politics go, most Americans didn't know anything until Balssonro actually um rose up to power.
But he's in jail now for the next 27 years, I believe. And and Lula sees what the United States is trying to do in Central and South America right now. And Lula understands the power that Brazil can actually bring to bear because it is an absolute superpower of South America. That cannot be understated. And it's watched Maduro be taken out in Venezuela. It's watched Donald Trump threaten to take out the president of Colombia. it it's seeing um America work with countries who have their own right-wing movements, populist movements happening and trying to kindle that spark into something more um like what you see in Argentina. And that's why this block that's being constructed is being called the anti-Trump block because it's standing against that. It's meant to hold up a kind of liberal order that is being attacked all over the world right now. Even if while the same time this is happening, I believe it was in Milan, you had a a great gathering of all the the far right movements that are happening all over Europe and even the president of Argentina, I believe, showed up.
There's a battle being waged for the soul of the civilized world right now. one that would either bring us back to an older era of um ethnic supremacy where it's every man for himself, the strongest will survive, you know, the the rule in leadership of the horde essentially. or those who support a liberal order, those who support more progressive ideologies that would see everyone rise together and not just a monopoly of the global economy like we've seen over the past century. The thing is, Central America and South America are going to have to move further and further away from the United States if they want to survive and if they can actually have a chance of defending themsel against rogue superpowers like the United States is turning into. And what they've learned from the failure that's happening in the Middle East right now, the complete failure of strategy on how to actually approach and win against Iran is that the United States is much weaker than the world thought that it was. That you don't actually fight them manto man. You don't actually dig the trenches.
What you do is you you you consolidate as middle powers all the economic and trade leverage that you have and that is the power that you bring to bear on this kind of economic battlefield and the United States is heavily reliant on nations from all over the world and that's something that Americans have really not understood because I think if we really understood that how just entrenched how entangled we are to this global network then this movement that's happening in the United States would instantly evaporate because it means that for this side to win this political push towards isolationism that we can do it all on ourselves, damn everyone else would mean the failure of the United States as a whole. And the more we push these aggressive tactics and use aggressive rhetoric that challenges the sovereignty of places like Canada, the sovereignty of Mexico, the sovereignty of Cuba, the more that happens, the the more necessary bridges that we have that these assets and resources flow into our country are blown up. And what the American people don't realize is that for each one of those bridges that gets blown up, it's the American people that pay more. It's the American people that find that the resources that they had for the small business that they wanted aren't there anymore. Or they're locked behind firewalls of tariffs and sanctions that are going to increase the price on what used to be 15% of what it now cost. that this is going to hurt their business, their ability to have a business, and actually pursue the archaic idea of the American dream. The fact is, Central and South America are within their rights to form this anti-Trump block for the security of their own nations. You really can't argue that otherwise unless you're just trying to say that no, America needs to be an empire. We need total control of the Western Hemisphere. That's being wholly rejected.
Argentina doesn't speak for all of South America.
It doesn't speak for all of Latin America. Latin America speaks for Latin America. And in Barcelona right now, what you're seeing is Latin America come together unified against the United States. And how can this more symbolically be put by the healing of the fractured diplomatic relationship between Spain and Mexico? It was only a couple years ago when President Oberdor demanded an apology and recognition for all the atrocities that happened to the indigenous people of Mexico during the Spanish conquest and Spain essentially went silent and this led to a severe fracture between their diplomatic relations. But President Shine Bomb and the crown of Spain have now come together and are beginning to heal those bonds. Looks like they might even be sitting next to each other at the World Cup.
The world's changing before our eyes and the consequences are just not in the discussion when it comes to what's being talked about in the United States right now and that needs to change because the dishonorable distrustful actions that are coming from this administration and the White House are having impacts across the world and those impacts are running towards the United States right now.
