[00:00:00]Hey, what's up everybody? I'm here and I'm super excited. I got my new exhaust here. Black Widow exhaust uh from UK sent me this and I am so stoked. So, really this is going to be a series of videos for the NX500.

[00:00:17]So, we're going to we're going to get the uh um new full exhaust on. Then, I'm going to ship the ECU to to 550 performance. They're going to reprogram it and ship it back to me with a full stage one kit, which includes the air intake. So, I'm super stoked. But in this video, what I'm going to show you is Black Widow Exhaust, and we're going to unbox this. And uh I'm so excited.

[00:00:40]So, let's get to it, man, real quick. Uh I uh check them out on their website.

[00:00:45]They have so many options. I'm just blown away by how many uh exhaust systems they have. I mean, there was probably I don't even know, maybe 30 or so different felt like 30 or so different options uh for the 550 at the NX, which is just huge, right? That's just quite a bit of options there for the bike when a lot of places really didn't have any because it it is kind of a new bike, right?

[00:01:10]So, I uh yeah, really shout out to them and super excited to to kind of get it here. So yeah, let me get back on the other side and we'll see what we got.

[00:01:20]Man, so stoked. So stoked to kind of show you guys all this. So yeah, so it's a full exhaust system. So what I'm suspecting is we'll have headers, which I think is what we got here. Yep. We'll have headers, and then we'll have Wow.

[00:01:42]Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to show you guys this. Uh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice. Just kind of get this stuff out of the way and show you. Yep. Here's uh here's one of the headers and then this is probably the other one.

[00:02:04]So, kind of how this video is going to go, guys, what I'm going to do is we'll go through this unboxing, of course, right? But then, um, I'm going to show you real quick what the stock exhaust sound like. So, we'll do some couple laps on the with the stock exhaust. Uh, so that way we can do a before and after comparison. There's another header. This is probably then the straight pipe.

There we go. kind of labeled that one too for the different headers and then yeah O2 sensor which I think you actually just cap off but oh yeah wow man this is going to be this is going to be good. I'm super super excited. So there's the headers. Um and then let's take a look. Let's take a look. All right.

[00:02:57]They got Oh yeah. Exhaust assembly that comes with this. Oh they just really give you a full kit for it. Yeah. That looks like some silencers or some some to slip in there, too. Show you guys that.

[00:03:14]And uh Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Nice. Some tools for the uh to put the uh header together and the exhaust pipe on there.

[00:03:25]Okay. Cool. All right. Baffle DB killer removal installation. So, yeah, looks like I've got the instructions on here.

[00:03:32]Okay. Yep. instructions and some other stuff in here. That's super cool. And guys, all right, another bag of uh kits and more brackets and parts and stuff. So, I'm just going to keep that together cuz I'm really stoked to kind of get this out here. Oh my gosh, I got so much stuff in here. Just kind of blown away to be honest with you. some clamps and stuff because as I'm going to show you, it looks like I've got I've got like three exhaust systems here to show you. So freaking cool.

[00:04:30]Yeah. And the box came in the Philippines. So these guys, they ship all over. So they got it to me here in the Philippines.

[00:04:39]Didn't take very long. Can't even remember. I think less than a week.

[00:04:44]Oh wow, guys. Look at that. It's got the blue kind of tip on there, too, dude.

[00:04:56]Dude, it's going to be so good. And I got three of these in a box, man. Holy crap.

[00:05:04]Let's see. So, yeah. So, we got mounting hardware and stuff like that that came with that. I don't I don't want to lose crap cuz this is going to be this is going to be a long project, right? This is going to take some time to kind of get all this done. So, you know what?

[00:05:19]Put this over here. I'm running out of space, man. just so rockstar, right, for them to do this and uh super stoked about kind of really transforming the bike. You know, a lot of people say this too, the NX is kind of a boring bike, and it is. It is, but there's nothing wrong with kind of boring, especially when you're over the age of 50 when you're talking about motorcycles, right?

[00:05:48]But, uh, this kind of thing, you know, you can still just liven it up, give it a little character, give it a little spice, you know. So excited about that.

[00:05:59]Oh my gosh. Yeah. I want to make sure I don't um mix these up, too, so that way I can tell you guys which is which, cuz what I'll do is I'll test all three of these out and kind of give you a sound comparison. So yeah, I want to make sure I kind of keep this together here, too.

[00:06:19]Um, let you know which one. This thing is sharp. I mean, look at that blue tip on there. I mean, that is just epic. Can you see that? I'm kind of standing far away so you can see everything. But dude, that's freaking epic.

[00:06:40]I wanted some. I was reaching out and they're super helpful. the the staff there. I reached out to him and I asked them. I said, "Hey, look, you know, there is a little bit of a tightening down regulation wise here in the Philippines and there are they're uh I believe in Cebu, they're pulling people over and they're testing out the decibel level. So, if you're your bike is over 99 del, you're going to get in trouble.

[00:07:03]So, I reached out to make sure all these are under that. Oh, wow. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Nice little can, though.

[00:07:23]Really, really good. I think what I'll do is I'm just going to put this back in that bag so that way I don't mix these up cuz on the box they're labeled.

[00:07:52]Look at this one. Oh, this one might be This might be the one cuz I just asked for one. Um, so this might be the one that they I had asked for.

[00:08:06]Anyways, they shipped me. Yeah, this one's a oval, I think.

[00:08:11]Tell you by that bracket. Yeah, this is it. This might be the one that I run with cuz I was hearing that the carbon tip one can give it a little deeper of a sound. Dude, look at that, man. Look at that.

[00:08:32]Yeah. really, like I said, really just kind of transform the uh NX, you know, give it a little character. Well, supposedly the ECU uh flash and the air intake and all all of this is going to give it I think a good 30% performance increase. I'll when the time comes for that segment, I'll I'll put in all the information there.

[00:08:53]But, um but in this video, what we're going to do next is uh I'm going to give you a factory sound, complete factory sound. We'll kind of run some laps. If you if you didn't watch my KX230 video, I'm going to do it just like that. I'm going to give you factory sound. We'll ride up and down the street, do a couple laps of stuff so you can kind of do some drivebys kind of deal so you can hear the before and then the after. So, all right guys, we'll be right back with that. So, I'm out here on the bike. I thought I'd just give you a quick kind of idle uh demo. This is a cold start.

[00:09:24]Um talk about the uh kind of the the sound of the bike, right? This is stock.

[00:09:29]Um, yeah. So, this is stock sound, you know, whatever. It's not bad. Uh, but quiet, right? And and whatever, right? It's fine. It just kind of really lacks character. Uh, but yeah, here we go.

[00:09:50]So, we'll hop on the bike. We'll do a quick ride so you can do a ride. Uh, so you can hear the ride sound just for a comparison, right? and most of us know what the stock sounds like, but that way you can kind of hear it. So, be right back with riding demo. I'm off for a run, so pardon my uh riding gear. Okay, guys. Out here on the bike, my kids around, so I'm just being really really careful. Lots of kids. Um yeah, so this is the stock muffler sound. I just real quick riding, right?

[00:10:18]I don't want to spend too much time on this. And then what we'll do is I'm just going to drop the camera down up here a little bit. And then we'll just do a couple of quick drivebys. And then what I'll do is I'm going to do the same thing with the new exhaust. So that's kind of just give you some sounding comparisons. We'll also kind of walk you through a gorgeous right out for a sunset out here. Ah, beautiful. I love riding in the Philippines. So anyways, that's kind of the plan. We'll kind of walk you through real briefly through the uninstall and the and the install and then some sound demos. So all right guys, we'll be right back. So what we got going on here in this test? I'm kind of on this busy road, so you're probably going to hear a lot of traffic. I got the microphone on me and then I got a microphone down at the base of the stand. [00:12:15]Yeah. Pretty quiet engine. Honestly, it's not bad though. It's nice. It's re It's refined, right? It's a It's not a bad sound. It's good. Let's go pick up the camera now.

[00:12:39]All right, guys. So, yeah, that'll do it for the sock exhaust and then uh we'll just kind of run through the installation of the new stuff and we'll be back with the sound comparison.

[00:12:50]All right, guys. So, I'm out here. I'm working on the exhaust. Man, I'm super stoked. I got the stock exhaust off and I thought I'd just kind of kind of catch you guys up to speed um of kind of what we've got going on. Uh yeah. So, I'll turn the camera around so you can see here just to look too guys. I have really no mechan mechanical experience.

[00:13:11]I mean, I'm just a complete beginner, you know. I prior to moving here in the Philippines, I barely um I never even changed my own oil. I was always kind of the guy that, you know, I just took it to the dealership to get worked on, admittedly. Now, out here in the Philippines, I actually need to work on my own bike because there's nobody here to do it. So, I'm learning as I go. And uh so, this has been super easy. The stock exhaust came off really easily.

[00:13:39]So, I had done my Yoshimra uh exhaust on my KLX 230 Sherpa maybe a couple months ago. So, I was a little bit familiar with the process of what I needed to do and learned from that. And sure enough, the same thing applied here. Really just kind of working your way back from the silencer muffler, removing that piece first and then take off the headers. Um, and then this honestly the Honda exhaust came off really easily. It was super simple. O2 sensor came off and now I'm kind of putting things back on. What I just showed you was the header. Um, that's the new header coming on. And I don't have things tightened up quite yet. I'm just kind of working through it. Um, but I'm getting ready to kind of put on the silencer muffler. I've got this blue blue tipped one right up there that I'm getting ready to do. So, yeah, just kind of working through it and just figuring out as I go. It's been really, really simple. Um, it hasn't been, you know, overly complicated at all. Just kind of tracking as I go. And, you know, your tools is a decent metric scent. both wrenches and socket for me.

[00:14:40]Plus an extender a little bit because the one header you got to dig in there a little bit to get at. And then what do you call? Uh I like these T Allen wrenches. Um so that also has been really helpful to get off the one piece on the side there. But yeah, I mean it's really been simple tools. Not a lot to it. So I'll be right back. [00:15:02]I got the first one installed here. It is the SL20R.

[00:15:07]It's freaking blue tip titanium. Oh my gosh, it looks amazing. And I also have a decibel reader here, which unfortunately I didn't capture the stock stock sound, but it's super quiet. And uh so let's start this thing up. I'm a little bit actually worried. Uh I think it's going to be loud. There is a silencer that you can get with these two, but let's take a look at what we got going on here from the factory. So I got everything kind of tightened up. A little bit loose back here on the on the clamp, but it should be good enough for what we got going on here for a test.

[00:15:39]But let's see what we got here. Uh decel level. And yeah, let's start it up.

[00:15:49]That's not bad.

[00:15:51]That sounds really good.

[00:15:54]Yeah, we're about 80 85 90.

[00:15:59]Yeah, 86 at idle. Well, well within the range of 99.

[00:16:06]Sounds good. Real deep tone.

[00:16:10]Now that's different.

[00:16:18]I think we woke up the dragon. Look at that. That's That's different. That sounds so good though. A nice quiet little purr right now at 80. That's nice. But let's open it up.

[00:16:37]Oh, I got three of these to try out, man. I'm going to be here all dang day.

[00:16:41]But honestly, really easy to install. It was super easy to install and the hardware that comes with it. I mean, you've got I mean, just detail stuff like lock washers and things like that that come with the hardware is really premium. Super stoked. Uh, but you know what? I'm actually might test around for this one a little bit. I've got to this might take a couple days for me to go to get all this done. I'm super stoked. I'm like a kid in the candy store, but I'm going to cruise around a little bit and try this one out. So, we'll be right back in a little bit. So, I got the second exhaust installed and let's see what which one I got here. Hold on.

[00:17:20]Really beautiful exhaust, right? Little longer exhaust than what we just had on there. Straight comes out. really looks sharp on the bike. So, I haven't started it up yet. Let's take a look and see what it sounds like. Yeah.

[00:17:33]Um Yeah, man. Oh, you know what? Let me get my uh decibel reader out, too, so we can get some decibel sounds on here.

[00:17:59]Yeah, actually not bad. A little bit louder, I think. Maybe. Um, we're sitting right around 80. Right around 80 decel. And the legal limit here in the Philippines is 99. Right. You don't want to go above 99 or you get in trouble.

[00:18:13]But right around 80, actually lower 70s, 80s.

[00:18:19]Yeah, it sounds pretty good. It sounds very It sounds very similar to the last one, honestly. Let's see what we got here.

[00:18:40]Wow. So, I rode around with that first one. I noticed definitely some popping on the DEL, but this one Yeah. All right. Now, it's starting to come out.

[00:18:58]All right, guys. I got probably like the la What do I do? I got the last one exhaust here to to test out for you guys. And this I believe this is the one I actually ordered. It's the uh SC 30T like tango. And this thing is sharp.

[00:19:14]Yeah, carbon fiber tip on there. It looks good. Um haven't started it up yet. So, let's get a sound test. I should add what you can also get if you're worried about the sound. And so far, these have actually been within the legal limits here in the Philippines, which is 99 decel, but you can add a silencer. And what I'll do is I'll put some footage in of that. They shipped it with little device you can put at the end of the uh of the of the exhaust. So, they call it something else. Again, I apologize if it's I've said this already in the video, and if it's not already obvious, I'm a very beginner mechanic.

[00:19:49]This is something I'm taking on in retirement. So, if I mispronounce or say anything um incorrectly, it's just cuz I'm a beginner, right? But let's take a look here. Let's get the Let's get the decibel reading up on this bike here and uh we'll hear what this one sounds like.

[00:20:12]Relatively the same the same decibel level, which is in the low 80s. Right now it's between 79 and 80, right?

[00:20:21]That's kind of where we're at. See if I can do a screenshot.

[00:20:26]Yeah, that read 76, but it's usually in the in the low uh low 80s.

[00:20:33]Sounds really good, right? Like a completely different sound from so stock. Like not even close to stock sound. Let's hear see what we got here.

[00:20:58]All three of them sound so good. I did ride around a little bit with a shorty one. I love that blue titanium tip on there. I believe that's what it is. Um like I said, I didn't order that one. Uh uh but yeah, you know, they're not paying me to do the video, but they sent me all this stuff to kind of do a review on it. I'm like, heck yeah. You know, I'm looking to transform this bike, so I'm just kind of bored with the the the stock sound of it. And uh so I'm super stoked and excited. And you know, definitely check these guys out. I mean, just the mounting hardware, everything. It was just really high quality, and it's noticeable coming from this culture and society where that's kind of hard to find. High quality stuff in general. It just doesn't exist here in the Philippines. But, um, so that just was a real standout. Um, but yeah, man. Super stoked. Let's see. What do we want to do next? I think actually on this video, I was going to do some riding stuff, but I do need to ship off my ECU to uh 550 Performance to get that programmed before I do a bunch of riding stuff. So, I think we're just going to we're going to end the video right here. These were the three exhaust. I wanted to kind of give you a rundown on it.
