The Focke-Wulf Ta-152 was a German high-altitude interceptor fighter developed in 1945, featuring a top speed of 755 km/h (470 mph), a 130mm cannon, and two 20mm cannons, designed with massive glider-like wings for high-altitude interception; it represents the final evolution of the Fw-190 program and exemplifies German WWII fighter design philosophy prioritizing energy fighters over turn fighters, though production was limited due to declining German industry at war's end.

Hey, shoot.
Good deal. Good kill. Hey, good.
Hey guys, welcome back to another video.
We are here today in the German the Faka Wolf TA 152. Uh this was quite an interesting aircraft for the time period capable of 755 kilometers an hour which is about uh 470 mph for all the Americans out there. Uh this was among the fastest piston powered aircraft of the war. Uh designed obviously to be a highaltitude interceptor. We got 130 mm cannon and two 20 mm cannons as well. and massive absolutely massive gliderl like wings on this thing.
Now the uh Germans apparently didn't build too many of these things. They were coming out in 1945 and quickly after its production date uh German industry declined such that they couldn't build any more of these.
Although I read somewhere that the Japanese actually purchased the designs to build this thing in Japan. Uh but I don't think any were ever built. Correct me if I'm wrong about that, but I I do believe they got the designs, but they never actually built any of them. Um which would have been pretty interesting to see this thing on the Japanese front, right? Um and as always guys, we are in the Pimax Crystal Super today in virtual reality and uh we're having a good time.
See if we can find any targets out here.
All right, I've managed to find some targets down here. Not as high as I would like to be.
What is that? That is Oh, somebody just crashed over there. That's a TA 152 shooting down probably a P51 right there.
So, everything is fine. Looking for targets. Just looking for vulnerable targets down there. I believe all the P-51s and Spitfires in this area are below my current altitude.
Uh something below that TA152 is this guy right here. And this looks like a P-51 to me. If we can get the proper lead.
That's just too risky. We'll climb away.
I was going to go for it.
We'll just maintain our altitude advantage. There's a couple of TA 152s down there. Friendlies merged with them.
If he keeps turning like this, it's going to be difficult for me to hit them. Took a couple uh lucky shots there. Unfortunately, none of them hit.
Interesting. Got to see how we're going to deal with this P-51 here. He keeps turning, which makes it very difficult to hit him.
Got to get the angles right.
And he's dogf fighting three TA 152s right now. So, this guy's got some skill. But, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to dive below him here.
Get onto a 6:00 low.
And hopefully he doesn't see this. And hopefully we're lined up here.
Okay, look at this. He doesn't see me.
Oh, he don't see me. I got it. I got the angles.
I got the angles. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep.
Lead. Oh, I pulled the nose over them, too, to get the lead. I was just hoping they were going to connect and boy did they connect.
Absolutely lit him up.
That guy was good though, man. But he was dogf fighting like three TA 152s out here all by himself. It was only a matter of time before he died. Just lucky I got the kill.
And honestly, a small burst from this thing does catastrophic damage to anything it hits. Again, you got the 30 mm and 220 mm. Like, this thing packs a punch. Often, if it doesn't just destroy the aircraft, it'll kill the pilot. And once again, you know, we we talked about this in other videos, but the virtual reality really allows me to take some long distance shots with this thing, which is pretty incredible. Makes it super deadly.
I do think that my accuracy has improved uh since I got into virtual reality here. Just looking for targets, trying to get high altitude. This thing was a high altitude interceptor. High speed high altitude interceptor. Go. Just want to see if we can find any vulnerable targets. There's some guys up here almost coal altitude with me. So, I'm just going to try to pull up a little more. That looks like a P47 silhouette to me.
That's a P47 for sure. A testament to the clarity of the Pimax right there that I can ID that. There's another one right there.
I'm going to dive down on this guy.
He's shooting at something and then he's going to slip into this cloud. He thinks he's safe.
I can barely make him out.
Can you get a little closer?
Oh, gotcha.
Gotcha. Kick the rudder.
Yeah, I give him hard left rudder to get those last couple rounds onto him. And I think one of the last rounds hit the canopy where the pilot was. So, uh, I'm pretty confident when I say that that guy's done. He's out of here.
Just trying to get some angles on this P-51 down here.
It's difficult though. These guys are These guys are good. Another one. Don't have the angles. I'm going to go up.
They're chasing uh friendlies. I'm going to slice around and Oh, I think I hit that guy. Yeah, I got him.
Yep. We'll come back around. That guy's pretty damaged at this point.
He's just trying to turn away from the fight now.
And I'm actually fairly slow, so I'm kind of vulnerable here. I got to make quick work of this guy.
Just flying a little bit of lead pursuit.
There he is. And line it up. Long distance shots here.
How about that? Oh, too much. There we go. Got him.
Dude, that is cool. Oh, easy. That guy was coming in to steal my kill.
And if he had crossed my nose a second earlier, I would have killed that friendly probably.
The Germans had some really interesting aircraft tech towards the end of the war, even at the beginning really, but at the end they were really picking up and I think we're all very lucky that they figured that stuff out later in the war rather than early on, right?
Everything's looking good back here.
6:00 is clear. There's our two friendlies back there. Uh, easy to identify friendlies cuz the wings are so massive on this thing. Um, but I find the best tactic with this thing is to get high and just kind of sit up here almost like an eagle or like a hawk of some kind, right? And just watch for things that are vulnerable underneath you. Speaking of things that are vulnerable underneath me, here's a P47 right here who was taking flack. The flack pointed this guy out to me. I'm going to slip around on those six and boom. Got him.
Nice.
I've been getting a lot of uh crossing my nose style snapshots on aircraft and I think that's a big part of that is the VR. We'll just finish this guy off here.
He's very damaged.
He might even be dead.
He's just peeling off shredded.
So, it turns out he's alive, but he is so busted. And like, you know, when you're a P47 is a robust aircraft. It really is. But it can barely survive a burst or a punch from this thing. you know, 30 mil, 20 mil knocks off control surfaces and then you're just stuck. You can barely maneuver.
Finish this guy off. Looks like some friendlies are shooting at him, too.
There we go. Got him. Firing the engine.
Yeah, man. That is a tough aircraft to bring down. The P47, it's hard to kill that thing. And you know, some of these German aircraft, the TA152, the ME262, uh, these guys, like they make very quick work of P47s. So, it's really a testament to how deadly the guns really were on this thing. It's actually quite scary.
And it just seems like the Germans really like to build energy fighters more so than turn fighters.
And I think that's like a doctrinal approach, you know, like they had a certain philosophy with air combat. I can't think of a single German fighter that's like designed to be a turn fighter.
Here we go. And we're just looking for vulnerable guys down low, low energy states. Maybe a guy who climbed a little too high, got a little too slow.
Looking for an easy kill out here.
We want to punish mistakes, right?
There's actually a P-51 underneath me here.
He's chasing a friendly. He's trying to anyway.
Let's take advantage of him being uh distracted right now.
Let's get the lead. Get the lead.
Oh, he ate it.
Give him the business.
Give them all the business.
Yeah, you're done. That pilot might actually be dead. I think he died in the first burst. Yeah. Whoa. His flap just went by.
I think you need that, bud. All right, there we go. That's what I'm talking about. We're looking for distracted guys, low energy guys, you know, somebody who is like an easy, vulnerable kill. And then we kill them and we just climb away. Reset, rinse, and repeat. Works pretty well with this thing.
Every kill in this thing is methodical, planned out entirely. Look at this P47 down low. We will dive on top of this guy. I'm going to try to line him up. N could get him. I've been getting lucky with shots like that, but not that time.
And here we go. We got the energy for this.
And he's going to try to climb and turn away, but I've got the speed.
Oh, you're dead.
Yep. Yep. He's done. Dead pilot. Oh, did I hit him? No, I did not midair with him. I think it was his wake turbulence.
I would have felt and heard a midair collision.
Heat.
Heat.
So, I was just flying by and uh I saw this airfield here and I noticed there's some C-47s trying to land.
So, we're going to take care of these guys real quick.
Dive down on top of this guy.
There we go. shredded his tail.
Climb away.
Looks like the fighters have already landed at the airfield.
I don't want to get too close to it cuz they do have aa down there. Just want to hit these guys that are vulnerable and slow.
Easy targets.
Oh, good hits. Oh, nice.
Okay, he might be all right.
We'll come back for that guy.
Yeah, he's going to line up for a a landing here. I have a minute to take care of this guy. There's another one right here. Going to line this up. We're going to take a high aspect front angle shot at this guy as he rips by.
Oh, nice.
I love shooting in VR, man.
Yeah. So, he's on fire. That's it for that guy.
Where's that guy shot that I said was going to get away. It's not this guy.
This is another guy. But I'm going to kill this guy, too.
Good angles. Straight down.
And dead.
Wow.
Got a little bit of ammo left.
Going to see if I can find that guy who got away.
There he is. He's on final.
See if we can line him up.
Okay, there's Triple A over there. So, I'm going to have to come in fast cuz uh I do not want to die to the anti-airror down there. I want to strafe this guy and get out of here.
He's aborting his approach.
Perfect.
Oh.
Oh, he's taking a lot of hits. There's the uh enemy AAA down there.
I've never seen a C-47 take this many hits. I'm pretty I saw control surfaces flying off of him. So, I don't know what kind of black magic this guy's doing to keep that thing in the air, but I'm not going to leave until he comes down.
See if we can line it up. Should we go high aspect?
Yeah. High aspect. Come on. Come on. Oh, good lead.
Wow. That's pretty cool. You get low enough you can hear the uh bomb sirens.
He actually ate that though. We'll come back around.
As long as he keeps flying straight, he'll be fine cuz he has he lost a certain amount of control surfaces.
Although, he does look like he's entering a little bit of a right bank here, which could be problematic for him.
Remember, we're keeping our speed up, so we're hard to hit for the AAA.
There we go. Good hits. Little more.
Was that enough? Yeah, he's going in.
Oh, yeah. Oh, crash landed.
Yeah, he did not survive that. There's no way.
All right, there we go. Finally got him.
That's it for me, guys. That is the TA 152. Actually, a very, very interesting German fighter.
Got some AAA going out for my friendlies up high. We're going to get out of here.
Thank you guys for watching and I'll see you in the next one. Bye guys.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
