Exhaust baffle design significantly affects engine performance across different RPM ranges, with larger baffles providing gains at higher RPM but potentially causing torque and horsepower loss at lower RPM ranges; optimal baffle selection requires matching the design to engine displacement and intended operating range.

Mario M8 117 ci Performance Lowrider Full Motor build Star Racing F35 Cam Fuel Moto Jackpot ExhaustAñadido:
All right, guys. So, we had the heads already taken apart. Um getting those washed cleaned and then we're going to sandblast them and deck them so we can get a little bit more compression. All the uh gasket surfaces have been cleaned.
All the threads have been chased. So, I want to go over the parts. We have our S&S lifters in the oil right now. So, a lot of nice parts we're going to use in this build.
Like we always do, we use our Kibblewhite's valve springs. Um and it comes with some seals. A lot of nice stuff here. And then we're going to end up using a another F35 cam from Star Racing over there with George Bryce. This is uh an amazing cam.
So, we ended up using a Screamin' Eagle cam plate, oil pump, another set of Smith Bros.
pushrods, S&S crankcase breathers, and pushrod tubes, lifter glove lifter cuffs, and cam change kit. So, um we're going to go ahead and start getting ready to assemble everything. We'll show you guys as we're going along and show you guys the process. So, let me get started start doing the cam bearing, then we'll start installing all the cam chest area.
All right. Cam bearing's installed.
Screamin' Eagle oil pump's installed.
So, we're getting ready to install the F35 cam from uh Star Racing over there with George Bryce.
But, I wanted to show you guys the clearance between the lobe and the cam plate itself.
We normally use the S&S cam plate. Um Mario Brothers the Screamin' Eagle cam plate, which is a nice cam plate as well. Uh bushings and stuff how I normally like it.
But, for some of you guys that might be interested, um this probably the biggest lift I would recommend without having to come back in here and machine this which is doable. There's a lot of shops that can do that for you.
Uh we have the equipment to do it as well, but I think with this cam we should be okay.
So, I'm going to get ready to install this then continue with uh the rest of the cam section.
All right, moving along pretty good. So, we have oil pump cam plate um S&S cam everything good to go S&S lifters lifter cuffs We uh powder coated this for Magios. So, uh those are on. I'm going to go ahead and install this other one, put the cam plate on and then we're going to start by decking the heads and then getting everything washed, cleaned, and assemble the head so we can start putting the heads back on.
All right, just finished machining the last 3,000ths off. So, we've got a total of 15,000ths that we decked off this head. So, I've got to get it washed and cleaned up. Here is the other head already assembled ready to go with our Kibblewhite valve springs.
So, uh let me get this thing off here and cleaned up. All right, guys. Head's already on, torqued, ready to go.
So, had some stuff powder coated.
Lower rocker box, push rod tubes, the risers to match. I know it's a little dark in here, but what I'll do is I'll take it out to the sun right now so you guys can see how nice it looks in the sun. It really shines really good. So, after that we're going to go ahead and start getting the rocker arms all that stuff on and then we'll start getting ready to install the push rods.
So, you here you can see the powder coat already out in the sun.
A lot of difference from when it's inside.
Once the sun hits it, that thing really shines. So, it has a silver base and then the the candy gold on top of it.
All right, so moving along pretty good.
Got this head already all done. So, we have our Smith Bros push rods on, installed adjusted S&S crank case breathers everything is red Loctite, ready to go. I'm going to put this cover on and then start getting ready to mount everything else and exhaust.
And then we're just waiting for the throttle body and manifold to come in so we can get that installed.
And then we'll go ahead and crank it and start doing one of the heat cycles.
All right, exhaust is on. Got carried away, did not show you guys the manifold and throttle body. So, the manifold is a Fuel Moto manifold, real real nice.
We'll have another video up on that later. And then um 64 mm throttle body. So, basically everything's buttoned up, ready to go.
We're going to go ahead and crank it, get some oil flow before we actually start the motorcycle, get the gas tank on, and then we'll start doing the heat cycle.
All right, guys. So, we just finished doing the dyno tuning here on Modules 117 motor build.
So, we are going to have a full motor build video coming soon. So, make sure you guys stay tuned for that.
So, here we go with the small details.
So, this is a uh Star Racing S35 cam. We have a Screamin' Eagle oil pump cam plate, S&S lifters, lifter cuffs, push rod tubes, Smith Bros. push rods. Of course, our favorite Kibblewhite valve springs, a Fuel Moto CNC um manifold, Screamin' Eagle throttle body 64 mm.
Here is one of our new decals. So, if you guys are interested, let us know. A Fuel Moto Jackpot exhaust pipe, very nice.
So, we're going to have three sets of numbers we're going to show you guys today.
Currently, we have a perforated baffle and we have a another set of numbers with a louvre baffle that module the customer had worked on himself and used the end cap off the Fuel Moto and then we have our baffle design that we've been working on to try to gain a little bit more horses and torque um on these motor builds but um we're not releasing any much information on that or pictures at the moment. It's a very simple design, nothing fancy. As soon as we get everything more dialed in, we'll keep everybody posted on on that information.
So we're going to have three different sets of numbers. This was tuned with a Power Vision and actually did very well. We were kind of uh very happy with the results. I'm going to go ahead and shut this off. So the first set, here we go. 129 horse 135 torque that is with the perforated baffle from Fuel Moto.
So then we're going to go to 137 horses actually 138 142 torque that is with a louvre baffle that uh and I'll post a picture of that with um the one that module the customer worked on himself. So you can see how the gains are pretty much all the way across the board.
Very nice graph.
So then the third set of numbers is our performance baffle.
So let me see. Here we go. So we ended up with 146 horses 143 torque and you can see the graph right there. So, our baffle design is actually designed for a 124 cubic inches or bigger with the minimum of 11.5. That's It's a pretty big baffle design.
So, we lost torque here and lost horsepower here right at the 3,500 RPM range where you actually ride.
So, in this case, the baffles is too big for the motor build.
But, it did gain it way up here in the in the higher RPM range over the 5,500 mark. It gained very, very well.
Very impressive on this baffle design.
So, we'll get everybody more information as we go along. But, if we clear all this out, very happy with 138 horse, 142 torque, extremely, extremely nice.
We want to thank Mighty for letting us do this and giving us the opportunity to dyno it and try different baffle designs and stuff to try to get as much as we can out of this motor and get it to run efficient. So, guys, make sure you guys stay tuned for the motor build and don't forget to like, subscribe, and follow. Help us share these videos. It does help out the channel.
Guys, thanks for watching.
