Dressing up a scripted comedy skit in academic jargon is a pretentious attempt to over-intellectualize pure entertainment. It mistakes dramatic performance for actual legal methodology.

Bethany meets with her possible new attorney to help her win the case against GregAdded:
A lot of cases like this, especially most recently, family disputes about business are very, very difficult, but I'll do my best.
>> Oh. Uh, Harvey. Hi. Uh, hi.
>> Remember me?
>> Um, >> Robert Stokeley. I knew you when you were in high school. It's been a long time. You've grown up.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say you do look familiar. I guess it's been a while. I didn't know.
>> I've grown older.
>> Yeah. Well, um, I didn't realize it was going to be somebody I knew.
>> Oh, well. Okay.
>> Let's talk. Let's see where we're at with your case.
>> Oh, yeah. So, um, Mr. Stokeley, um, I guess you're here to help me hopefully settle this crazy case that my brother thinks he has against me. So, um, what do you need from me so I can convince you to take it on?
>> Well, tell me, uh, you got when you got sued and when you got served.
>> Okay. Um, so, uh, can I tell you a little bit about how it got started so that you kind of have a little more? Okay, go ahead.
>> So, my brother Greg and I met for a financial meeting in this room. Um, he was pushing buttons, doing things that siblings do. Um, and he just pushed too far and I did throw the first punch. We got into a physical altercation in this room and he got um, he got the scratches, he got the marks, I got nothing but a little bit of a bruised ego from it. Um, however, shortly after that, um, he sued me. I was served papers at my house, my husband and I, uh, I showed him the papers. Um, it looks like, give me a second. I can tell you. Um, oh, here it is. Um, he in the in the papers that was served to me, um, I had a lawyer before, Natasha, and she's got all the paperwork with the exact dates.
>> Okay.
>> Um, so I'll get you that, um, should you decide to take it on, which I pray you do. Um, in that paperwork, um, he is suing me, saying that I allegedly caused him bodily injury, emotional distress, uh, damaged business reputation. He wants monetary damages, reimbursement for medical expenses, pain and suffering, um all his attorneys uh fees paid, and he thinks that I jeopardize financial stability in the future of the family business, which is a fringing um infringing upon his business interest, quote unquote. That's the little blurb.
>> Well, he may have a cause of action for you striking him first.
Not sure about all the other. I'll just have to look at the pleadings and if we need to amend something or file a counter suit, we can do that.
>> Um, yeah. And there's also some video evidence that I could show and that's for a later conversation should you decide to take it on. Um, showing a physical assault from his side to me as well.
>> Okay.
>> Um, so tit fortat kind of deal. Um, all I know is that I need help making this go away.
>> Well, um, I'll be glad to look at everything and try my best. uh just need to have a clear understanding of who the lawyer is and who the client is.
>> Right. Right.
>> Obviously, it's your case. You had the final say on decisions, but I need you to listen to me and follow my instructions.
>> Of course, I'm not an expert. I I did research when I was going to represent myself, but I'm I'm out of my league with this. And I fully admit I need help with this, but um I couldn't get him or dad to help. So, >> well, that's understandable. Um, but yeah, in regards to listening, you're the expert. I will I will do what I can.
>> All right. Need for you not to make it worse than it already is. You, it's obvious you've got a little bit of a temper issue going on here with your brother and whether it's he deserves it or not.
>> Don't need any more problems. Okay. So, need to keep it under check. I I will say that I I can control my temper, but uh for the most part, I feel like I'm aggressive because of business reasons.
Um but I I will try my best to uh keep that in check and to just remain a quiet little mouse while you do the work for me behind the scenes.
>> Fair enough.
>> Um yeah, so
