Beaver Dam Removal In Beaver Dam Creek! S5 EP.9! || Beavers On The Run! 🦫🏃😅Added:
Oh, beavers. Beavers. Can you hear that?
Beavers. We're getting it flowing.
>> I'm going have to get a potato rake.
That stuff is packed tight.
Oh, beavers.
Beavers.
Hey, what's up you guys? You made it back for yet another episode out here at Beaver Dam Creek. Where did this come from? Was that there the whole time? I guess so. Okay. Anyway, it's the day after, you guys. It's late. I have no intentions on doing hardly any work at all. Okay. I had to do something early this morning that got me up early. I didn't want to get up. It took the majority of the day. I came home and took a little short hour nap. And now I'm out here. I really just want to look at how things are looking today. That's all I really intend on doing. Like I said, it's going to be dark here soon.
So, uh, we're just doing a check-in to see just how active the beavers are and how adamant they are about rebuilding.
All right, so we're going to see here.
First up, we have Father Beaver Dam.
We did a number last night with the little time that we had.
Here we are the day after.
Victory. Sweet victory, you guys. Yes.
That looks so beautiful. That looks so beautiful.
No rebuild whatsoever. But that does not mean they haven't started downstream.
But I love to see this. This is what I wanted to see. Okay, so we're going to head on downstream. I wish I had time to after we check downstream. Hoping that nothing's done that uh I can go upstream and see what's up there cuz we hadn't been up there in a long time. A long long time. Um but anyway, let's head on down here. Oh, look at the debris, pal.
That looks like one of the ripper points on the farm.
A wooden ripper point.
See, I don't even have the shovel with me. All I got is a potato rake because make our traveling easier.
Yes, man.
Yes. Yes. Yes. You see that? That's how the creek is supposed to look.
Nice flowing water.
Check it out. Even this dam right here, like I said, that little channel that we opened up, that's all that we needed.
That's all that we needed. You guys get got it flowing. All that mess over there, a nonfactor. Good deal. Good deal. So, we are moving right along.
No water out here where it doesn't belong. You would almost think that it belongs out here cuz it was here so for so long. as long as it was.
It's got it washed out and things.
Okay.
Yes, you guys. Oh, man. I'm so happy.
I'm so happy so far.
But of course, you know, just like we work at the furthest point, the beavers do the same so that they can back the water up. If they was to have damned it up up here, they wouldn't have water to start filling it up back downstream where they can. And that's what that's the thing. Beavers, they use the water to help float that big stuff to the dam.
Makes it so much easier. So they go to the furthest point, get the water backed up, get the water built up, and that helps them, maneuver.
Let's go touch these sticks over here.
Let's go bother this stuff here so that they'll I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I tell you what though.
They cut a lot of trees over there.
Matter of fact, I think we'll cross over there. Look. I mean, look at this. All this stuff right here. The beavers cut them trees down and the limbs got hung up where it didn't fall in or whatever.
Wow.
And that's crazy how the creek does that complete U-turn.
Let's see if we can cross over here.
I've never crossed over here before.
Oo, that wasn't going to hold me, huh?
Oh, it's slick.
Woo! Woo.
A beaver carnage.
I've actually never walked this far over before.
We got a grass field right up the hill.
There.
Over there was that beaver uh beaver bank. Den.
Yeah. This tree here. Let's look at the butt of it where they cut around it.
I mean, that's crazy. They cut that tree over there, too. Do Do you see Do you see all of this, man? That is absolutely crazy. Absolutely crazy.
Look at Look at this. Look how big this tree was, man. Look at how big that was.
Oh my goodness. Why did they cut it down, though? Because the creek is way over there. Did they think it was going to fall in the creek way over there? Not this tree. They've been gnawing on those trees there.
Wow, man. They was gnawing on that tree over there.
Oh my goodness.
Yeah, I had to take a picture of that with my phone.
So, we're walking in from this side.
Check out, like I said, how the dam runs from the woods all the way over there all the way around to that side.
Here we are. Extreme Beaver Dam 2.0.
Check it out. Check it out, you guys.
Beautiful.
No rebuild. Beautiful. Praise God.
Praise God. You see that though, man?
Oh my goodness. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Look at this. See that right there? The water will do the work for us. See how it's washing it on the sides there? The water will do the work for us. Yes, man.
Yes.
Yes. Yes. Yes. This is where I wanted to come back today before they got started rebuilding.
There's the debris pile. Here's how it looks now.
Ah, sweet victory.
Narrow and deep is what will get you drained. Okay, you ain't got to go wide.
You ain't got to go wide.
Raccoon's been down there.
Let's head on downstream.
Ah.
I don't really need to even walk way over there.
We'll walk our normal path.
I ain't going to lie. If there's some rebuild, I ain't tearing it out. I ain't going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I don't think And you know what? Let me take that back. Let me just shut up. Let me just keep talking. I meant walking and quit talking cuz y'all know my mouth.
Say one thing and do another.
This right here is where we pulled some stuff out that they had had.
Hadn't touched it. Hadn't moved it.
About to get tripped up.
Coming up on Beaver Dam at the corner.
Beaver Dam at the corner. Has no rebuild. I can imagine that's something that got hung up there.
Looking good. Looking good. Now that water down, I ain't going to lie, looks a little bit still down there.
We will definitely go ahead and move this out of the way.
I don't know. It might have washed down this low. No, that's something that got hung up.
Here's our beaver dam removal.
We removed some wood.
Oh man. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Okay, I think I'mma walk around this way.
Let me see.
Still water over here. This must be a some type of drainage from the field. Oh yeah, definitely cuz this water running down there. Oh yeah, they uh they got this damn down here rebuilt. So it shouldn't be this much water. I can tell you that already.
I can tell you that already.
That's okay. That's okay. At least we got to see all that other stuff and how it was looking.
Nice and low. Yep.
I guess we'll have to check on the other side of the road.
Make sure that is flowing. Oh, look at this. Look at this. They moved it. They moved it further that way, you guys. It was over there.
Okay. Well, y'all, yeah, that's why I said I don't want to lie because y'all already know we are definitely about to go ahead and pull that out while we're here. We're definitely going to get that out of there.
All right, you guys. Let's uh let's try to make a quick work of this. Uh pile is way back over there.
Bunch of leaves.
Oh, beavers. Beavers. Can you hear that?
Beavers. We're getting it flowing.
That's right. Y'all ain't going to get a break.
We got a quiet flow.
Oh man, that water's coming right at you guys.
I mean, look. Oh, wait a minute. Can y'all handle that wheel pressure? Can y'all handle that pressure? Okay.
Oh boy.
It's building up around y'all's legs, man.
Oh, I don't want my strings in the beaver water.
I guess when we bring the chainsaw in here, we definitely need to cut that root.
cuz we got that's going to do it. We're done here.
We are done here, you guys.
Okay, let's get out of here.
And here's how we're looking. A quick work. It was really nothing but leaves.
So, that was an easy build for them since there's a bunch of leaves just falling right in the creek.
It was looking weird over there. Like that could be a gator den. I told you I pulled that stuff out uh out the water over there. It's still up on the bank.
They hadn't touched it yet, but uh good.
That was a quick work, man.
Let's walk over here right quick. Look at it again where we was walking in at because I'm not going to walk out with you guys until we get back to Father Beaver Dam.
No needing making the video that much longer. Oh man, that debris hung up right there.
I'll probably pull that out for sure.
But yeah, see how it looks now. That's how it's supposed to look cuz it was starting to build up here a good bit. I mean, it was it was all the way right there.
All righty. I'm going to pack up. Like I said, I'll check back in when we get to uh Father Beaver Dam and we'll we'll look at things above Father Beaver Dam.
Ah, welcome back. We made it to Father Beaver Dam where I told you I would check back in at. I stayed faithful to that word.
Uh that's how I was looking. I wanted to come on this side so that you can get this angle uh where I had y'all sitting watching us tear it out so you get a better perspective of how it looks. Now we we can we can walk up the creek on this side, but I don't know how things are looking.
So, we're going to go ahead back on that side just in case uh cuz I want to be be on that side of the creek, which is our exit side.
And let's hope that there's nothing to tear out that needs to be te torn out.
We don't got time anyway.
Oh, goodness gracious. Thank God I got this hoodie on because I just snagged my arm on some serious serious vines.
Great day.
Wait a minute. Let me see something. I don't know if I Okay, I think y'all are okay. I thought the GoPro got snagged down. Let me check it anyway.
Okay, y'all are okay.
I guess cuz I got this tow bag on, it's moving so much. Made it feel like that.
Wow. Yeah, we've not walked this way in a long time.
Oh, I thought that was going to break.
It did break some of the limbs off of it, though. So, we can get past it. And then my backpack when it get hung up.
Oh, man.
Yeah, they had the downstream part of this area pretty much conquered, but I don't think they've done much work up this way. When we first came in here, they used to have a dam right along in here.
I think it was about right there. And then the Beaver Lodge, they had a Beaver Lodge right here, but it's no longer here.
Or maybe it was more like a bank, but uh yeah, it looks good. So far.
So far so good.
We called that one Beaver Dam at the lodge. And then this one right up here used to be one here was Beaver Dam above the lodge.
right here. Wow, that is amazing. That is so amazing. I'm standing on the debris pile right now. This is the debris pile. Can't even see it. Stuff starting to rot, but the dam like there's no evidence that there was a dam here, which is amazing. And the other thing is we had the trail camera here, and this is where the alligator walked past the trail camera. The biggest alligator that we've seen on the trail camera came right through here, which is crazy. Like I said, I never knew we had alligators this close to me in this area. Wow.
All right, we're going to keep it moving. I like how the water's flowing, which probably is a sign that there's nothing up here keeping it held back.
Oh no. Oh no. You guys.
Oh no.
Look at this man. No. No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
This is fresh. This is fresh.
Oh boy. We got to get it. We got it. We got to do it. We got to do it. Oh wow.
This is a new one. This is definitely a new dam. Right quick. Right quick. I'm not even going to try to set you up on a tripod right now because I will have to set you up and then uh get you back set up on the headband to do to walk out of here. So, let's just open it up right quick. We don't need much. Just a little bit. I mean, they but they Yeah, they've been working. I think they got mad downstream and wanted to come up here.
Now look, the water's going up under the bank over there. It's crazy.
I really should have put y'all on the headband because it's getting dark and the video is not going to look good.
It's not going to look good dark.
Going to be bad on your eyes. I'm sorry, but uh we got to do what we got to do with the time that we have.
And I'll try not to move my head too much.
I will pull some of this stuff out just just because strings in the beaver water.
I'm might have to get a potato rake.
That stuff is packed tight.
Oh, beavers.
Beavers. Can you hear that? Beavers.
We're getting it flowing.
Go ahead and quit playing with it.
Oh yeah.
Flow baby. Flow baby.
Be free.
We found you.
We don't need to go wide. I'm not going to go wide.
A little stomping stomping around.
Oh yeah.
Flow, baby. Flow.
We'll get some of the wood out cuz that that'll eat them.
Listen. How it flowing? Glad to be free.
Ain't you water? You glad to be free?
I'm glad to be free. I'm free in Christ Jesus whom the son says free is free indeed.
Uhhuh.
That's right. You getting the word early.
Getting the word early.
It's good to get a little headband action every now and then. Anyway, some people do like it.
that'll help it out you guys. That Oh, yeah.
Going to be some angrier beavers tonight.
Some angrier beavers.
All right, we're going to let that do.
Oh, yeah.
Much better, you guys.
Much better.
Okay.
Oh, yeah. You know what? I just thought about something. That beaver dam back there was called Beaver Dam in the middle because we had found one up here and we had called this one up here Beaver Dam above the lodge. So, oh goodness gracious. That didn't used to be like that. That did not used to be like that. Can't go that way.
Guess a tree fell.
tree limb fell out the top of that tree there.
We got another U here.
I don't see anything over there. Oh, look at this here. Yeah, they moved up the creek.
Look at that. That's some debris in the water right there.
I really need to get that out of there.
Oh no.
Yeah, you guys, they moving up the creek.
This right here is Beaver Dam above the lodge.
Look at this. There's a little bit of buildup right here. I bet you they just did that, too. I bet you they just did that. I got to get it.
We got to get it.
We got to get it right quick.
Ah, let's see here. I bet this has gotten deep, too. Yes, it has. Oh, there's there's this right here been here. This been here. Yeah, this been here. This is not fresh.
This is not fresh.
As a matter of fact, I think I'mma I'mma take y'all off the headband. Um, they had had a beaver dam up here at the brier patch is what we called it. Let's walk up here right quick while I got you on the headband so we can check it. Oh my gosh, that is scary. That is scary looking. And I know it's way darker to y'all than it is to me.
There's some stuff in the water here, but I don't know if the beavers did that.
I think that stuff just fell in here.
I don't know.
That's a lot of stuff to have fallen.
It's not cut. The beavers didn't cut it.
But this right here definitely is some blockage. This is Beaver Dam at the Brier Patch. They used to have one here.
Beaver Dam at the Brier Patch is what this was called.
Oh, this is a mess. This is a big mess.
This is a big mess.
I know y'all probably can't even see, but I got to get this out.
I just don't understand how this got in here like this. Cuz the ends of it is not cut like how the beavers cut. Surely is.
You guys, I think I'mma come back after I depart from y'all and get this right here.
Yeah, I am.
I definitely am. At least y'all got to see some of it right there because I can go down there and set up the spotlight and do a little bit of work down there with you.
A lot of alcohol bottles here. Beavers was definitely drunk when they did this one.
That's why it's built all over the place. They didn't know what they were doing.
So, I'll check back in you guys at the other damn down there.
All right, you guys. So, I'm using my phone and the light instead of the GoPro and the light.
As you can see, it looks much better.
Way more lighting.
And I actually stayed down there and went ahead and pulled that stuff out while I was down there so it could be done.
And it'll give us a little more water flow right here, too.
Got the beavers on the run. They ain't going to know what hit them. They ain't going to know what hit them. You guys, I'll have to come over there and restart that light as it gets dimmer. It's probably already gotten a little bit dimmer from all from the start.
I tell you what, it's a big help. A great big help.
with all my orange on.
This is like old days when we used to be out in in the night time. Tearing out down.
Oh yeah, I can tell it's gotten dimmer.
That's better, ain't it? Now you can see.
You can see the flow better cuz we're getting it flowing now.
I don't hear a thing.
But we're still going to say it.
Oh, bever.
Can you hear that?
We're getting it flowing. Nighttime edition.
All we got to worry about is that side really.
I mean, actually already like probably the lowest it's going to get That's going to do it, you guys.
That's going to do it.
Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Big boy there.
That was in the dam from years ago.
Okay, that's that's good. We're good.
The coast is clear.
All right, you guys. Wow, that light is super bright. I almost want it to be dim. I was thinking about making this the season finale, but I'm not going to do that because I'm going to try and get back. Probably not tomorrow, but maybe tomorrow. And we'll go on the other side of the bridge where we first started in the season and check on that dam. Make sure all of this is clear. And we probably will try and go below that dam that's on the other side of the bridge and try to make our way to downstream at the covert cuz we we definitely need to figure out where this meets downstream at the covert. Um so that we can you know know the geography of the land. But anyway, as I wrap this video up, I was just thinking back on how I said earlier whom the son says free is free indeed.
That scripture basically is letting us know that Jesus has set us free from the curse of the law. Back in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant, the the Old Covenant saints, they had to try and live according to every precept in the law. And guess what? They couldn't do it. And because they couldn't do it, that's why God had to send Jesus to be a perfect sacrifice for us so that our sins can be forgiven. And so Jesus has come and fulfilled the law. in the flesh, he's come and fulfilled it. So that when we put our faith in him, that's how we're made right with God.
Because see, we fall short of the glory daily, right? So if we were relying upon our works, man, we would be failures.
God would God would take us out. He surely would. But because of because of Jesus, God's grace and mercy is towards us. And we are under the covenant of grace. Now, of course, we do not abuse grace. Should we continue in sin so that grace may abound? No. God forbid. We have been changed. We have been transformed. So, why would we want to continue in sin? If you've truly been transformed, you don't want to abuse grace. I promise you. So, you know, that's why I always tell you that even though we're under grace, the heart's desire is to please God. Even in the in the the midst of our shortcomings, you know what I'm saying? God can still be pleased with us because of his son's sacrifice, what he did for us to be made right. All right, so I've been long enough, man. I appreciate you guys for hanging out till the end. My light is going dim, but the light of Jesus is still shining bright.
Hey, I hope that you guys have enjoyed watching. Smash that like button for us.
Throw a comment in the comment section.
Let me know what's on your mind. Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. You guys stay blessed. You guys keep encouraged. And as always, we'll see you in the next one.
